Want to get in the Zone? The Discraft Zone is a slim putter with a thick rim (1.2cm) that gives you something to hold on to. This is a very overstable putter that is good for headwinds, strategic fades, forehand throws, flick putts, and slamming into chains at just the right angle. Many Discraft enthusiasts will have a Zone in their bag as a putter that gets them out of a situation where a flick, or sidearm putt or approach shot is their only option. Being so overstable, this disc can handle the torque that a flick will put on it! The Zone is considered one of the best Discraft Discs available today.

This disc is the king of approaches for a reason. It really teaches you how to have a clean flick approach and the feel in the hand is done so well. Makes sense why every manufacturer tries to copy it.

Out of curiosity I have tried to find a "better zone" but have gone through almost all others zone like approach discs and have yet to find it. Not sure if I ever will.

Like many others, this is my hyzer approach disc (forehand and backhand).

Similar to standard Z-line plastic it takes forever to beat in and ages well (I've had mine in the bag since 2019).

Compared to an ESP zone, I find the Z-flex easier to grip and trust in all conditions. It's also not quite as "skippy" when it hits on edge.

The Zone is one of the most hyped and recommended discs for a reason. It perfectly fills the overstable approach slot and can be used backhand and forehand flawlessly. Parking your upshots is the easiest way to save strokes and the Zone is the only disc you'll need for 95% of those shots. Don't be intimidated by the 3 stability this disc will teach you rely on the hyzer.

Boy oh Boy! The Z Flex zone has worked wonders in my upshot game! super staright with predictable fade. The Zflex plastic doesnt beat in much so you get a consistent flight in the long run. I use it for my forehand upshots and it is amazing! I think everybody sould have one in their bag. Super straight in head winds and very grippy. Best all weather choice as well!

I bought a Z-FLX Zone after realizing (far too late) that putters are not just for putting. For the most part I use it for short forehand drives or upshots under 225 ft. The overstability is great for forehand flat shots with reliable fade or consisent flex shots. I haven't had much success throwing it backhand but I'm working on learning it to add some more flexibility to my game. I really like the Z FLX plastic since it's very durable but also a bit flexible which helps with confidence in my grip. The flexibility also helps limit any skips on harder ground

As a beginner, it took me awhile to realize that putters are not just for putting.  I tried the Zone after cycling through a bunch of other putters/mids looking for an approach disc that I could flick or backhand that would *always* hook up and fade hard after about 100-125 feet.  This was the one, that overstable putter slot in the bag that you realize you have to have after a couple of rounds of never getting close enough to par.

I have a Z-FLX Zone that I absolutely rely on for approach shots between 100 and 175 feet.  I use it on most holes that I can't drive to the pin close enough for a putt.  The Z-FLX is flexible and pretty grippy, great for forehand touch shots and it feels good ripping backhand as well.  If you're looking for a truly OVERstable putter for approaches, this is the one.

One of the discs that I believe everyone should have in their bag. The gold standard for overstable approach discs. I use my 175g zflx zone for 90% of my approach shots, and plenty of short tees. Works equally well forehand or backhand (as opposed to the harp, which is a bit taller and felt awkward for backhands). Very little groundplay thanks to the softness of zflx, which also has a great grip and is very durable. I get a bit more skip out of my McBeth Z zone, but it's otherwise the same.

The zone might be too o/s for brand new players, but would be a great approach disc for anyone who can put any kind of power into it.

I have always been a forehand dominant player. I have never had a mid range or putter that I could forehand consistently with full power. They would always turn over on me. I used to approach with my Destroyer forehand with touch because I was more accurate with it than my shark.

I researched both the zone and the harp and ended up choosing the harp because it slightly shallower than the harp. I know that that was something I have always liked in a forehand disc.

I went out to the field and it can handle full power forehands. This disc is going to improve my approach game tremendously. I used to have roll away problems with touch shots with a overstable driver. This disc sticks to the ground and you can put this on a Anhyzer line and know it will fight out of it.

Still getting used to it but I love it for forehand approach shots. The first time I threw it felt great I feel like I have great control with this disc and I just barely got it. It fits my approach forehand need that I really had nothing for.

    "Throw it straight and wait."

Whether it's forehand or backhand, this is exactly how I use my Zone. And in the short time I've had one, I've improved my approach game tremendously! Anytime I need to scramble from a bad drive and "take my medicine," the Zone is perfect for making my par putt easy. It has the most reliable fade in any disc I've experienced. Literally all I do is throw it straight and wait for it to fade.

At a recent league day, this disc won me a CTP and it also won the throw-off to decide winner. Needless to say, I am a big fan of discs that win me money!

I believe this would be a good disc for beginners, because it will help them practice approaches and short hyzer drives. But I'd probably recommend something a little more neutral, since this is quite overstable.

Nevertheless, this disc is not leaving my bag.

One of the most versatile and reliable discs I have thrown.

On backhand, flat releases with good power get you a long straight flight followed by a forward fade. Released on hyzer this disc will ride that line the entire flight before finishing with a small skip. Baby flex shots are controllable as the zone will always fight out of the turn; when and where it comes out is all up to you with angle control and the power you put on it.

Throwing forehand, the zone is a dream. It can take power and torque without any worry of turning over. I have put this disc 200ft on an absolute frozen rope. If you really hit your line with power you can throw through gaps you wouldn’t believe. Deadly accurate in the woods. Soft turnover forehands are a beauty to watch, as the zone will ride the line and always have the stability to land flat. Throwing with a touch of nose up will ensure you throw the flex.

Fights headwind like a champ. Fights crosswind like a champ. Always comes back. The consistency of the disc gives the shooter a ton of confidence. You can honestly just hang it right of the basket and always trust it to fade in. In that way it makes up for late releases as well. Which is why I say its not too bad for beginners.

The lack of glide makes it a very rangeable disc. I’ll use this anywhere between 60 – 220 feet.

Comfortable in the hand. Low profile, flat topped making it great for all grips. It is shallow but not shallow to the point that you can’t power grip it on backhand throws. I’ve putted with it as well, playing in South Texas means you’ll find some super windy days. It’s serviceable as wind putter but there are better. The zone isn’t designed as a putting putter anyway. I think of it as a slower drone to be honest.

My favorite plastic I’ve thrown the Zone in is Zflx. Still very overstable and great in all weather conditions. Elite Z is so stiff it sometimes hurts my hand to FH it in the cold. In closing the Zone is absolute money. If discraft is your thing grab a Zone, Drone and Pred and all your OS shots are handled.

The Zone is the greatest approach disc created. I threw a Harp and a Rat for an overstable approach disc for a while and neither one compares to the Zone. The Zone is more overstable than both of them and is great for both forehands and backhands. This is  a must have disc for anyone serious about disc golf.

I currently bag an Elite Z Zone and a 171g Z FLX Zone. Between the two, I'll typically grab the Z FLX one for a backhand shot as the plastic feels better in the hand. For a forehand shot, I prefer the Elite Z one as the stiffer plastic feels better and it's a little more stable. They are both quality discs to keep in the bag though and are highly recommended.

I love this putter, if I need to hit a target 225 feet and in then I'll grab this disc. When thrown hard the disc will go straight for awhile then fade very hard (for a putter) and it's the easiest putter to forehand that I have thrown. I can forehand on a very steep anny line and it will always come back, it reminds me of a much shorter champ firebird, if I lose it I'll be buying another within a couple days.

Great overstable approach disc. I used it primarily for forehand approaches because the shallow depth and flat top fit in my hand very well. I used this more than the origio Harp I had in the bag, but that could have been a preference to the feel of the plastic. Eventually, the Zone lost out to the Slammer because the thumb track feels more comfortable and controllable for forehand approaches to me. 4 stars simply because it's a tweener disc and I feel more covered with my shots with the Slammer/Justice combo I bag now.

I just got back into disc golf a few months ago after a 6 year hiatus. I have always been a forehand dominant player but never tried a Zone until my friend suggested one and gave me his.

    Wow!

This is the disc I have always wanted. I never had a putter or midrange I could reliably forehand. The Zone is exaxtly that for me. It starts out straight and fades hard at the end. The flight could be compared to a shorter Flick.

I use the Zone off the tee and for approach shots that need to finish hard left. Mostly for forehands but I do backhand it as well. I haven't used it for putting but I'm sure it handles headwind puts very well.

The Zone is a good disc to help teach someone how to throw forehand but I wouldn't consider it a beginner's disc.

Everyone with a competent forehand needs to have a Zone in their bag. There are too many situations on a course that only a Zone will save me. This disc helped me realize how much I love disc golf and how much missed playing it over the last 6 years.

Excellent approach disc.  Great for 220-250' tricky woods holes.  Powers down well.  Best flick putter that I've found.

Z Flx - feels great.  Flex on a minor anhyzer for straight throw with fade.  Perfect for the woods.  Great for very fast putts or high winds.  Folds on contact with the chains.  Very stable.  Also works well for extreme hyzer (rainbow) putts over obstacles.

Jawbreaker - feels great.  Need to hyzer flip it for a straight throw on a full power flick.  I can use it for hyzer backhand approaches, too.  Doesn't skip or slide.  Better glide than Z Flx. It gets stiffer in the cold and seems to glide better.  Can bounce out of the basket on direct pole hits.  It's straighter for putting.  The Jawbreaker is really accurate - hit chains from 200' out around 7 times in 4 months.  It's getting less stable and a bit dinged up.  Still feels good.

ESP - still breaking it in.  Supposed to glide better than Jawbreaker, but still 20-30' short on back to back throws.  Feels great and the Des Reading swirly ESP looks great.

I'm going to buy a Z Glo Ledgestone (hoping it's the same stability or more than the Z Flx) and X soft (putting) since they're on sale.

This is one of the weirdest and yet most consistent discs that I throw. The zone is listed as a putter, but I often tend to throw it as a flick mid.

This disc is crazy overstable, in the same stability lines as the buzz OS or flick, if you're looking for a straight putter, this is NO way gonna be it. This disc is one I use for get out of trouble short flicks, and the occasional hyzer putt.

If you're looking for a disc to train up your flick game, I'd definitely recommend this one, it does whatever your form does. If you throw it poorly, you'll be able to tell pretty quick

The zone is the most overstable putter by Discraft. It has a consistent and predictable fade. This is not a disc for beginners. I find this disc very useful in wooded courses and for my second shot approach, ESPECIALLY when there is wind! In my experience, this disc will skip less than the ESP or Z plastics which is great when you don't want a strong skip finish. I highly recommend this disc, it will get a lot of use!

    Where's the Beef? RIGHT HERE!

The Zone is one of those discs that sells really well, but never gets as much hype as other discs. I don't know why, because the Zone is absolutely fantastic at what it does: be massively overstable and not fly very far. I've thrown many Zones over the years (never had a real need for it in my bag) and my favorite is the new Z FLX.

the Zone is the perfect short-range utility disc: very overstable, pretty much glideless, will hit and stick when you want and skip when you want. Great for sidearms power shots as well as short, forearm finesse shots.

Instantly became my favorite disc in the bag! I have since aquired 5 more in different plastics to test which is my favorite. I currently utilize this disc for most forehand shots up to 300ft and left finishing shots up to 260ft backhand. I am a mostly forehand player and this disc was a godsend! Z FLX is my favorite plastic so far.
