When you are looking for your first overstable approach disc, this is where you start. There is good reason so many people love this disc. When thrown flat with 60% power it gives a nice gradual fade for the duration of its flight. Full power and it will fly straight for maybe 70' and then start fading.  I don't currently bag it, but I do really like this disc.  I just replaced this disc with a tactic because for the slot that I had this disc in I really wanted something slightly more overstable. This disc is pretty overstable, but once I added the tactic to my bag, I just stopped reaching for my zone.  I recommend everyone who is looking for an overstable approach disc start with this one as a base line and when you try others compare it to the zone because the zone is the standard for this category.

I've been bagging a zone as long as I've been playing disc golf. Reliable approach putter for both the forehand and backhand. Love using the Z line for hyzer approaches and my jawbreaker zone for when I need the disc to stick. The stability of the disc may be a bit much for a beginner to fully optimize but for me this is a disc I can use tee to basket

I have been throwing the 4 claw McBeth zone since they were released. This disc has been used and abused. It has beat in a fair bit, but still not as understable as a new jawbreaker zone. I would not recommend this to new players because of the overstability, but I love having both a jawbreaker and the z line for all types of shot shaping as well as wind conditions. This is by far the most comfortable "putter" that I have ever used, for both forehand and backhand shots. Using the zone off the tee as well as for upshots has taken my game to a whole new level. I left 4 stars since it isn't usable for many beginners.

I have heard the rantings and ravings for the Discraft Zone for awhile, but held out for the longest time. Although, after getting the Zone I can understand what all of the ranting and raving is about! The Zone is an absolutely amazing disc with the perfect feel and rim shape for both forehand and backhand upshots. I would say that it really sings on the forehand flick upshot.

The Zone has the stability to handle the wind and still have a reliable finish. In fact, if I am facing a super strong headwind I will opt to putt with the Zone.

I own a Discmania Tactic however I feel like the Tactic has a little bit of awkward feel in my hand for backhand, for whatever reason the Zone just feels better.

I highly recommend the Discraft Zone if you are searching for an overstable disc for approach shots. Plus, with Paul McBeth's signature it has to make be beat, right? :)

The Zone is the overstable putter I needed for years before I finally heard about it. I wanted to forehand other putters, but I could never make it work. Now that I have the Zone in my bag, I feel like I have so many more options available to me on every course. This disc is great for so many approaches where a backhand simply isn't the best option.

I used to be a Harp thrower for a long time and picked up a First Run McBeth Zone when they were released, but never bother using it. I decided to take it out to test it against the Harp one day and immediately fell in love. It out performed the Harp on every hole I threw them both and I even got an ace with it. It is shallower than the Harp and feels much better in the hand. It is a little bit more OS than the harp which I like. The elite Z plastic has a great feel and perfect stiffness. I will never go back to the Harp!
