Best VERY Understable Disc Golf Discs

Best VERY Understable Disc Golf Discs

Highly understable discs are ideal for beginners, children, and players with extremely low arm speeds. If you're seeking a disc so flippy that it will turn over when thrown with even the gentlest arm speed, this selection of the most understable disc golf discs is for you. These discs represent the most popular choices among those categorized as "Very Understable." Their extreme understability allows them to effortlessly execute hyzer flips for nearly any player, ultimately transitioning into rollers. Ultra-understable discs frequently receive lower star ratings in reviews, primarily due to their inconsistency and unpredictability when handled by experienced players. Nevertheless, when wielded by skilled individuals or in suitable conditions, these ultra-flippy discs can unlock flight paths that were previously deemed unattainable.

"This is a disc that just about anybody can roll," says Dave Dunipace, founder of Innova. The Rollo was made for rolling, but it can also be useful for turnover shots through tight wooded fairways. This disc will be a true beginner's disc, very resistant to fading out to the left for a right-handed backhand throw. It has a ton of turn and plenty of glide. The unique understable flight of the Rollo has made it a fan favorite for unique shot shapes and varieties.

The Pterodactyl is a manageable driver for young disc golfers. The rim isn't too wide, thus a high-speed release is not necessary. However, it still lands in the "distance driver" category and provides a great gateway to longer, more impressive throws down the fairway. Like other Dino Discs, it is lightweight, floats in water, and is aimed at young players or those players without a lot of arm speed.

NOTE: The Pterodactyl is made with the mold for the ABC Secret Weapon.

The Stegosaurus is the quintessential mid-range driver designed for some turn with a little bit of end-fade. Of course, in a lighter weight, it is more understable than the flight numbers might suggest. But for kids, this mid will do the trick in fading to the basket for a short putt. It has a somewhat deeper rim for more of a "frisbee" feel for new players.

The Tyrannosaurus Rex was the king of the carnivorous dinosaurs, so it is only fitting that the disc should be the fastest in the Dino Discs line-up. This is a maximum distance driver with a wide rim. So, even though it is very lightweight, it might be more difficult for very small children to get it up to speed. But once a player gets their technique figured out and they want to try to let loose a long-bomb drive at maximum speed, this is the disc to unleash!
