My Flight Ratings: 8/6/-3/1 Very Beginner Friendly Throwing Distance: N/A Straight Score: N/A

Just what I needed for more distance, as a relative beginner.  After taking up disc golf just last year, a lightweight DX Leopard (speed 6) was my longest-flying driver.  I purchased a couple of discs with higher speed ratings, but even with stable drivers, I have been experiencing excessive fade.  The Latitude 64 Diamond was billed as an “EASY TO USE DRIVER.” It’s even printed right on the disk!  Is it hype? No, it’s TRUE.  The negative 3 turn, along with the light weight is just what I needed to overcome the fade caused by my slow arm.  I suppose more powerful throwers will find it too flippy for most situations, but for me, the understability of this lightweight disc translates into straight throws.

Most light weight discs seem to come only in base plastics that get beat up quickly, so it’s nice to have this classy-looking disc that will stay that way.  (I splurged a bit to get the Gold Orbit 10th Anniversary model because it was the lightest one I could find.)

So far, I have only used it on snow-covered soccer fields, but it is flying significantly farther than my previous favorite driver.  After more practice to evaluate my consistency with it, and the flight patterns and controllability, the Diamond just might be my new favorite driver this coming year.
