I was skeptical of the reviews, but I tried this disc out and absolutely love it for water carries! I get nervous throwing over water because I don't like losing discs, and this disc has brought a peace of mind that unlocked some confidence. I've made every water carry with this disc, kinda defeating the purpose but I'm not complaining!

I bought this disc just because it floats in water after losing a few to water hazards at a local course. I really only throw it around water and can confirm that it floats and that has come in handy a few times. Because of my altitude (5000') I don't find this disc as understable as some of the other reviewers. It is definitley understable but when thrown with a little hyzer, it will flip up and fly straight. It's light so if you overpower it or throw it into a strong headwind, it will definitely be too flippy. It's a good utility disc for water areas and would probably be a good one for beginners with lower arm speeds.

Great short range forehand roller disc, and if you don't know already it floats in water. Makes it easy to fish it out of a lake, but it's Bye Bye if you land in fast moving water!! I don't pull mine out very often, and has recently been replaced in the bag, but a solid disc, and definitely had its uses.

A dragon is a requirment for beginner disc golfers. Out in the woods or a field, you are much better suited pitching a TL, or a Leopard3. But if there is a water Hazard, save yourself the tears & buy a Dragon. Until you just KNOW your Hyzer bomb will clear that pond, throw a dragon. 8 speed gives you more control than a high speed option, and you can just take your dragon and lay up ACROSS the water instead of in it!.

To summarize, you won't throw this more than 100 times a year, but when you take it out, your other discs will thank you!

This disc is a great beginner fairway/distance driver.  It is very easy to throw out of the box and is true to the numbers.  The plastic is super grippy and luckily I haven't had to retrieve out of the water to test its floating ability yet (but it gives you confidence to throw around water).

I love this disc and have used it for a few years now. It was easy to throw when I got it when I was more of a beginner and is great for anhyzer shots now. Finally the plastic is super grippy and have retrieved it out of ponds multiple times since it floats. Great disc overall.

It's a good disc for beginners to use near water so they don't lose more valuable discs. It definitely doesn't deserve a low rating like it has. It also flies pretty well.

It floats. If you play in a course with water hazards, this disc will save you the worry. It floats well. As a newer player, I find this disc to fly very well, almost like a leopard. It feels a little weird and heavy, but the fact that it floats makes it handy when throwing near or over water, especially for beginners. If your looking for a floating disc, you can also look for a disc in light weight blizzard plastic. The dragons weight allows it to fight the wind a bit better than the light weight blizzards.

This disc should get more credit than people here are saying. For a lower power thrower, who is getting good a wrist positions, there's tons of uses for this disc. I throw it on an Anhyzer out high release when I want a long gliding right flight path. Or you can use it as a predictable beginners roller disc - yes it will turn over with a lot of power and extra anny, and it will roll! It will roll well. There's 2 holes at Alex Clarke course in McKinney where I use this disc most often. Hole #6 where I go for that right glide and land perfect for a long putt across the ditch, or a layup upshot. Because there's a deep creek bed to the far right on this hole - the additional floating factor helps too. Other hole is #12 (I think). Again, it's a right turn long downhill to the basket. Here I try to work on my roller with the Dragon and it does pretty well. Good disc!

I found a Dragon floating on a lake with no name or number. I have mostly used it as a forehand disc and it's one of my favorite discs to throw forehands with actually. I have a tendency to throw forehands on hyzer even when I don't want to, and this disc allows me to flip it up, get some turn, and then nestle back down with the gentle fade. It's bee a really fun disc to have in my bag when I need it or for just when I don't want to risk losing a great disc in the water. The biggest downside is that I haven't used it a whole lot yet and it's getting pretty rough around the edges already. This plastic is super non-durable.

Can't nail down why, but the Dragon hasn't been able to stay in my bag. Bought it cause it floats. And it does, so that's a plus when playing with water hazards. So, the numbers aren't right for me. I just can't get the distance or accuracy consistently with it, so my Dragon is currently in my daughter's bag. She's giving it a try.

In my first year of play I got a used, fairly beat in Dragon.  I found it to be a good beginner disc for backhand throws. If it is thrown to power, I found that it held straight longer than other discs.

Only available in DX, it beats in pretty fast.

This disc is incredibly weird. This disc is the first one I ever got. I know it is dx plastic, but it feels so stiff,I can't even been it a touch. When you power down on this disc,it flies as stable as a force in z plastic. But when you throw this thing with torque,it's weird,it has no glide, and it turns and rolls. This disc is pretty decent for beginners.

The Dragon is a great disc for special uses, but is not a disc for every day use. Like the description says, it floats in water, so is good at lakes. Don't use it near a river though as it will just float away. It's also not likely to be a main use driver as it bangs up VERY fast, and does not have the performance of other discs in the category.

I have thrown my wife's Dragon a few times, and it was okay. I wanted to get one for a while just so I had a lake disc available. I picked one up for myself yesterday and played a one-disc round with it just to do it. While it's not bad, it's not great either. So many other discs do what it does, just better. I had problems with the disc being so light, and so low speed that I kept turning it over too hard and having it just cruise to the right forever. The turn on the disc is pretty accurate, but the fade is not so accurate unless thrown flat. It does not recover when thrown at extreme angles. The fade never seems to come online and the disc just keeps flying to the right.

If you manage to throw the disc flat and hard, it does do a perfect (I do mean perfect) S sweep, and looks amazing as it does so. The light weight of the disc along with a good glide make the disc a joy to watch as it quickly slows down and turns back on itself with a final gentle finish and glide to the ground. I must say it's one of my favorite discs to watch fly when thrown correctly.

The Dragon is absolutely NOT going to make my normal bag as I don't play near any lakes, but it will be in my box fort the times I do. I know the disc has a reliable flight pattern, and can get some fair distances out of it. I will certainly use it for my driver on holes I am worried about tossing one in the drink.

The dragon isn't loved by many, but it does what it is designed to do.  The dragon is an understable fairway driver that floats in water, so it tends to be situational.  There are definitely discs that do the dragon's job better, but the dragon floats.  Beginners should only use this disc when a water hazard is in play, as it beats in very quickly if used as a workhorse driver.

    Disc - Innova DX Dragon

Feel - The dragon feels very similar to many other fairway drivers with a smaller rim and shallow depth. The plastic on the dragon is very interesting and not durable at all.

Flight - I put flight as the heading of this paragraph but I'm not sure that's an appropriate title at all. I found this disc without a name or number so I decided to give it a try. I threw it with a steep hyzer assuming it would be a bit flippy and if landed on its back. This disc is so understable it's almost useless. Unless a player has no arm speed to think of I would not recommend this disc.

Overall - I think this disc needs to be revamped by innova. I like the idea of a floating disc that is good for beginners but maybe make it exclusively in blizzard or star lite plastics instead of the less dense DX they decided to put it in. I would not recommend this disc to any player.

This disc floats in water! That alone makes this disc perfect for beginners. My younger brother got this in the innova starter set and loves it. It goes straight with a reliable fade at the end. Perfect beginner dest to learn how to throw a flex shot! Not too overstable but also wont turn over on a beginner. Definetely recommend for beginners!

A Dragon was my first disc golf disc that I ever owned.  Knowing nothing about golf discs, I figured that with all else being equal in my ignorance, I may as well grab something that floats in water.  All these years later, I am not sure that I have ever actually had to make use of this disc's ability to float.

Back when this disc was new, I exclusively threw overhand shots, so that's the only flight I can really speak to with this disc.  These days, there's not really any shot I can throw with this disc (more on that later).  Thrown overhand, this disc would flip completely upside down, keep turning, and then fade to the left.  Despite being upside down, the Dragon would actually glide further than you'd expect.  I wouldn't really endorse using a Dragon as an overhand disc, but it's what I threw with this disc back in the day.

The plastic used for the Dragon is probably the least durable plastic that I have ever thrown.  After 10 to 20 rounds worth of tree hits, this disc is completely unusable.  In the days since I started, I've learned how to throw a decent backhand, and now there is no amount of hyzer that is able to keep this disc from turning completely over and becoming a roller.  Even as a roller, it's so understable that it can't hold anything remotely resembling a straight line.

By the way, it turns out that being able to float in water doesn't mean that there's no risk of losing this disc when water is around.  I actually almost lost this disc once in a shallow fast moving creek.  Because it floats on water, by the time I got to the disc, it was already a few hundred feet away from where it landed.  A less buoyant disc would have stayed where it landed.  I could also easily imagine a Dragon landing and floating in the middle of a pond, but remaining out of reach nonetheless.  All that to say that the ability to float on water is not a cure all for losing a disc where water is concerned.  Don't let the "floats on water" thing distract you -- it's much easier to avoid losing your disc when it doesn't land in the water in the first place, and the Dragon very loses any controllability that it might have had.

I'm sure "floats on water" sells discs to beginners, like it did to me, but I would love if Innova would create a new disc with these same flight numbers, but in premium plastic and just forget about the floating thing for the new disc.  A disc with this combination of speed, glide, turn over, and fade is incredibly useful for woods disc golf, but only if it maintains those characteristics.  Since I couldn't recommend for an experienced player to pick up a Dragon, it feels like a gap in Innova's line up.

Unfortunately, this is a very disappointing disc. I found it floating and worked hard to get it, but as soon as I threw it, it was clear this is a super light weight understable disc. I've even let my friends who have never played disc golf throw this disc, and they choose to throw an 150g DX Leopard because the flight on this disc is so unpredictable.

I'm sure there are people who enjoy this disc, but I have tried and have not had any good experiences.

I've thrown this disc a bit as my Nephew has one who I take out to play sometimes. It's great for non pro power distance and accuracy. Nice for the vast majority of players I should say. It floats in water so that is a nice bonus.

The plastic seems not very durable, but then again it's at the lower price point. I agree with the flight numbers.

I found this disc a week ago in a field and it had no name on it. So, I gave it to my son who needed a lighter disc and I knew a floating disc would come in handy. He still has yet to throw it in the water, but just knowing it floats gives him the confidence he needs for shots that would otherwise seem risky. It turns nicely for him. It throws similar to his Leopard, but he doesn't get quite as much distance out of it.

This Disc is what it is. It's a fairway driver that floats. There is very little consistency disc to disc. But once you find one that works for you, you can get this thing to fly decently. I have 1 hole (at my home course) I drive with this on and its about 300 feet with OB Lake on one side. I have to throw it about 80% on insane (rhbh 6:30-7 o'clock) hyzer to get it to flip just past flat and ride a nice S. But once you get one that works for you it is worth bagging for water holes.

I'm giving this 5 stars because it works well for what it's made for. With a slower arm it's a good max distance driver (similar to the leopard), it's great for learning hyzer flips and turnovers, and as you get better it still does the job for water holes and it's a good disc for learning rollers because it flips so easily with power.

This was my 1st distance driver that I ever bought. I learned how to throw S-Lines with this quickly and easily.

It was my choice because my course of choice at the time have a final hole that had a lagoon along its entire length and well... this disc floats. And I can confirm that from personal experience ALOT of experience.

This can be very flippy especially with head winds. I sadly learned this a week or 2 ago when I lost it on a large downhill throw at https://discgolfcourses.com/Course/1288/Kincaid-Park-DGC hole #3

This thing sucked for forehands, but it really helped me develop my backhands.  I can see why more advanced players would dislike it, but I thought it was great for learning to throw good backhands.  For an intermediate or advanced player looking for something straight and stable, I'd recommend the Discraft Undertaker, but this was a much better beginner driver than the Valkyrie out starter set came with.

This is probably the worst disc I have owned.  Don't be tricked by Innova's claim of -2/2, this thing is going to turn and burn almost every time you throw it.  This is because due to the claim that the Dragon can float, it is only produced in 150 class weight.  Even if you think of it as a midrange and throw it with 75% power, it's going to turn and dump.

The ironic thing is this disc's selling point is being able to float, but there's no reason why you would throw it over water to begin with.  When you are going over water, the best strategy is usually to throw something very stable with dependable fade.  If you throw this disc, it's just going to dump over and SPLASH!  When that happens, don't bother fishing it out.

It...floats. That's pretty much it. If there's the slightest hint of wind, this thing will get tossed around like a sack of feathers. If you have any amount of power behind it, it will turn and burn. The plastic isn't durable enough to make it a roller, and the turn is too significant to make it a consistent choice for tunnel shots.

I'm not a fan of this disc. I do remember when this came out though. I tried it, hated it, and never threw is again. There was always that one guy who had one though, and his sole reason was "because it floats." That part is true, but it is a much too touchy disc for me, and most others. Although it floats, I don't think I would ever try to get one out of the water.

Picked up a Dragon, threw it a few times, and now I'm getting rid of it. I can't throw this disc to save my life. Every time I threw this disc RHBH, it would turn to the right and want to roll. I thought I could use this for shorter water holes but I'd rather risk losing a mid range or a different fairway driver than throw this disc knowing it'll end up in the water and I'll have to fish it out. It's a good disc for someone with a lower arm speed who is scared of losing a disc in the water. My brother currently bags a Dragon and he throws it pretty well.

Ok, I feel like some of the way people talk about this is being a bit unfair. This disc isn't trying to be the best disc that Innova makes, it's trying to be the best fairway driver on the market that can float. Well... it does that... so... four stars for being what it set out to be! Ok. So the plastic is in my opinion more grippy than people give it credit for and to be honest the Dragon is actually kind of comfortable in the hand. It fits well in the hand and is easy to consistently release. In flight, I'd say it has a very average glide for a fairway driver. It isn't the best out there and certainly it isn't the worst. The only part of this disc that doesn't make sense to me is the turn. This thing does turn over if cranked or in windy situations. Which means that if you are playing on a beach where the wind is turning up and you would want a floating disc... this actually isn't that handy. But if you are inland and are playing over a lake or river this is ok. It's good to bag it on courses where you might get nervous about losing a disc in water for sure, but don't expect it to be something that it isn't.

So, first of all, when I saw the stats on the disc I thought "It's a floating Valkyrie, just a little slower and glides better". Well, after using it, it was an absolutely correct assumption, with only a slight bit more turn and less fade (on a 0-5mph wind day). Given the light weight these come in I wouldn't recommend a high arm speed player whipping it at anything above 65% power. However for newer players it's a lower speed distance driver and with it's light weight and DX material it's ideal. Also since it floats it'll help newer players not fear the water hazards (aside from penalty strokes.. and alligators if you're in Florida like me!). The initial turn is sudden and somewhat steep but stops quickly and can easily be manipulated for flip-to-flat shots and the fade is gentle, IMO, more of a 1 than the 2 it says.

All in all, a good started disc and I really wish Innova made it in more plastics! I hope this helps!

Addendum: Do not throw it into a 6mph or higher headwind unless you want it to flip over like a drunk acrobat!

Literally just found this on a course yesterday; no name or number. Ironically, it was the same one I’ve been tempted to pick up in the store for a couple months. I plan to update this review after a couple months, but my initial impression of it is as a potential utility disc. Every time I throw it rhbh, it flies super straight for the first 150-200’ and then fades right, which I find really unusual. I still need to take it out to a field and try for max distance—the course I found it on is pretty constrained, but I was hitting 300’-350’ consistently without much effort. They just weren’t very accurate. It’s not as responsive to different release angles as I’d thought, either—at least, not the same angles I’m used to throwing. Anhyzers, particularly. I’ve not tried rolling or scoobying it yet, but I could see why it’d work great for either.

This version of DX plastic is insanely grippy, though. Really great for windy, dry or hot days.

Rating 3/5 for now, will update after more use!!

This may be the most inconsistent disc Ive ever owned.  If thrown with 40-50% power (I only throw max about 325-340) it flew true to the flight numbers on it.  Anything more than half power, and it was a complete crap shoot as to how this disc would fly.  Sometimes it would turn and burn, other times it wouldn't want to flex at all.  It must just be really picky about release angles, but I couldn't ever find the sweet spot.

The other big drawback for this disc is it only comes in DX plastic, which beats in so fast.  I feel like this only adds to the inconsistency issues Ive had with the disc even as it was new.

This disc is good for a beginner, until you start gaining more speed and power in your throws.  Eventually you have to really power down to get the disc to behave somewhat properly, as it liked to fly away on me quite often.  It floats, which is nice, but since it's only made in DX plastic, it gets beat up pretty quickly, and then its very inconsistent.  If it was made in a premium plastic (let's say, Blizzard Champion) then it might be more reliable.

Great disc for the dog that loves to jump into the water and bring you back your disc so you can fire off 500 practice shots a night, not caring where the disc goes, only working on your form.   Thank You, Ozzy.  Wahoo is similarly nice.  They can get beat in really nice from dog teeth.. squeeze the dome down and bend out the rim and it's practically a teebird with teethmarks.

Floating discs do just that.. FLOAT.. So if you are throwing by a big lake like me, better hope the wind pushes your disc towards you instead of away... or have a dedicated retriever... or you just watch it float off into the sunset.

I buy one every time I see one.  But even brand new, any power at all will cripple them in mid air, bending them over like a cheap... well.  Nevermind.

I will agree with Dr. Four-Putt.  The specs on this disc are right, but it does not remain usable as it wears.  If you're just starting out and need a floating disc try a Hydra if you're a mid-range fan or an Aquarius if you throw fairway drivers.  Better investments.

This mold is superb. Unfortunately the plastic is not. It has a really sweet understable flight with a nice fade at the end. Frankly it is better at the understable fairway driver slot than the much more popular Cheetah and Leopard. But again, the plastic is horrible. Yes, it floats. Sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes this is not a good thing. Very beginner friendly disc, just don't throw it on a hole with lots of trees or concrete for it to hit.

Hey, Innova, please make this mold in a premium plastic.

It may be due to me being a beginner, but I cannot throw this disc to save my life. I bought it on recommendation from a friend saying he had good results, but I have not. No matter how hard I throw this disc it will turn hard right and start to flip over, diving into the ground. This has happened since I first threw it. The very first throw it turned hard right and hit the ground about 150', and has so almost ever since with a few random throws resulting in a nice glide out through the fairway. My friends, who throw similar discs as myself, cannot get this disc to react as described either. None of are sure as to why. Slower discs I throw better, and farther, than this disc, and the same goes for faster rated discs since I bag both a Valkyrie and a Wraith. After about 4-5 good rounds using this disc I gave it to a friend and bid him good fortune. Maybe I am just not good enough to throw it, it came shipped "damaged", I don't know. It was just a bad disc for me. The only upside was that it did float. Otherwise, not a disc I will bag. Sorry.

My friends got this disc for me as a joke for my bachelor party. They forced me to play with a few select discs to mess with me so that they stood a chance against me, but wanted me to have discs that could float since we were playing around water. While I initially could not stand this disc, once I figured out how to throw it, it became a lot of fun.

The ability to float was nice, I threw it in the water a few times while trying to figure it out. If you are in an area where you are afraid of losing a disc to water, the Dragon is fantastic to throw out.

While the disc was not great for an advanced player, it was really understable and dx which did not hold up well at all, it would be great for a beginner. I could get the disc to flip up and go right when thrown at a pretty steep hyzer. If I threw the disc with less hyzer on it, I could get it to work into a pretty good roller. All in all, it is a great disc for beginning players, and one that can definitely be used to mess with friends who need a little bit of a handicap.

It is great for if you want to throw near or over water. It floats in water and i throw it just in case I throw near water because i lost plenty of discs in the water and it is great for beginners. It turns right and fades left.

The grip on this disc is a typical 8 speed disc. It is very comfortable in the hand. The plastic as it gets older it feels less slick, and gets a little grippierjust like any DX disc.

The stabiliy of this disc is very understable. As such makes it great and an easy throw for a beginner. The disc gets even more understable as it gets older. Now I have a hard time throwing it without turning it over and into a roller. This disc gets good distance for an 8 speed, and it is very easy to throw.

Overall the Dragon is a good disc to start out with, but it has lost its place in my bag now that I can throw other discs farther and easier and with more control/dependability.

Great disc to carry for courses where you might lose a disc to a water hazards.  This disc flys just as the numbers say, until you wear it in or start hitting trees.  As it wears in it starts dumping right or left depending on your throwing arm.  It wears in faster than a normal DX disc, I guess because of the plastic type designed to float.  I wish they would make it in r-pro because the flight when you first get these is great, not many DX disc hold lines and the fade as hard as this one.

Great disc it was my first disc given to me and i am very pleased with how staright the disc flies when thrown backhand that is how i throw all of my discs and it works really great for the dragon. Also i really like to throw this disc on water holes because it floats and mainly all the holes around the area where i play have water holes and if i throw it in i am able to get it back because it floats which is a great feature. Also i like that it is made in really bright colors so if it does not float and sinks you can at least see it on the bottom of the river or shallow lake.

For me, this disc is hard for me to control. It always turns to hard to to the left for me and never comes back. Don't know if it's because of my arm strength or what. I have no problem throwing Nukes or Cranks but this is a little to hard for me to thrown. Very nice for beginners with slow arm speed

I purchased a dragon as a floater for water holes. At first i had a lot of trouble with it turning over on me. Ive since figued out what angle to throw it hyzered so that it will fly a nice anhyz path. Ive been pretty happy with it since learning its flight, but wouldnt use it unless im afraid I'll hit ob water. Overall, 3 stars

The Dragon is a great disc for helping to introduce newer players into throwing drivers.  It is understable, so you can get some distance without a ton of power.  It floats so it's a nice disc to have when you have to play near water.  The only downside I have found is that there is a fine line between giving the Dragon enough power, and too much.  As soon as you give this disc a little too much power, it turns over and fades the wrong direction.

This disc flies very sumular to the Achangle however it it has a stronger fade. This makes the disc incredibly usefull on holes where ther is any sort of guardian tree because the disc will turn arounfd  it then fade bak towards it amaking this a disc that you should definatley have in your bag. On top of that this disc gives you a solid amount of comfort if you are throwing over or around any sort of water hazard.

Some of the things that arent as wonderful about this disk are that it only comes in dx plastic which is bad but it definatley isnt awesome. Because it only comes in dx plastic it also manages to beat in rather fast making it some what flippy. The other issue  I have had with this disc is I have been unable to find it in any weight over 163g which isnt terribel but it makes the disc very hard to work with if you are dealling with any wind.

Overall I think this is a solid disc and it definatley has its uses on the course. It floats and is a real utility disc that can be applied to many different throws. It is also a very beginner friendly disc and its not exactly gonna break the bank if you just so happen to lose one.

This is a great disc for beginner because it practically flies straight and is very stable. The rim of this disc is well crafted and has good grip. You can throw this disc forehand or backhand and have it god straight with a slight turn to the right or left. The only cons I think this disc has is it comes in only DX plasting what is not the most durable plastic and its distance isn't far. The rest of this disc is good for beginners knowing that it doesnt turn much and you dont have to throw as hard to get its distance.

I can't get the distance with the dragon like I can with other discs in its speed category but I use it to throw over water so I don't lose my better discs. I can get it to fly strait with little fade but it seems unpredictable at times. Not bad for new players like me but you will be moving on to better discs pretty fast. I like it for the most part. If you find one cheap grab it, the fact that it floats is worth a few bucks.

The dragon was the first disc I ever threw it was the only disc that would get me father than 30ft I fell in love with this disc it was the only disc I threw off the tee for half a year but then it started to get pretty worn down and became very flippy and every time I threw it it would turnover now when I throw this disc I have to throw it with quite a bit of hyzer if I am going to get it to not turnover my suggestion is to get this disc and use it and by the time you are turning it over you can throw faster discs and can upgrade.

The best thing about this disc for me is that floats in water!  Actually, this is a fantastic gliding disc and is great for kids, women, and new players because of the grippiness of the plastic and its light weight. With lots of air-space and a fierce tailwind, the distance this disc can fly is pretty amazing. Also, a great high-altitude driver. not for strong arms

Almost unpredictable. When you first start, you might play over water and get this disc for those holes. Do yourself a favor, keep a base plastic disc for the water. I had terrible success with the Dragon until I finally lost it. Now a just throw a base plastic disc I like for over the water. Since I switched, I have had one bad throw that went into the water. The rest of the time I clear the water just fine because I have more confidence in the discs I am throwing than I ever had with the Dragon.

This disc is great for beginners and juniors. My son 14 was matching my drives until my game improved using this disc. I found it great when used around water as a floater. I myself was unable to use as a driver. I always overthrew it making it break rt and then crash and burn. But i tend to favor higher speed drivers. The lighter weights always seem to be a factor in the wind so def something to keep in mind when using this disc.

I found a beat up Dragon at a course several years ago. The disc did nothing but turn and burn immediately after releasing. After a few tries, I gave it a lot of height on a RHBH throw and was able to turn it enough to roll straight down the fairway. I was never good enough at rolling it to aim the throw well, but on a wide open fairway it would take off and roll 350-400ft. The DX for the Dragon is strange, it holds up better than regular DX against scrapes and dings, however I hit a tree hard and the disc turned into a taco. So that was the end of my roller experiment. I would probably not buy a Dragon, I think there are many other discs that will be better options than this. Floating is the only thing this disc has going for it, and honestly with a better disc you would be more likely to cross that water hazard and not need a floating disc.

I would recommend passing this disc up. I find it too be unreliable and terribly flippy. Unless you dial down the arm speed to essentially nothing, this disc will turn over once it's been beaten it even a little. If you're just starting out and your home course has a lot of water, it may be worth picking up... but as you improve you may struggle a lot with the disc through no fault of your own. Sometimes it's the arrow not the archer, and this is a bum arrow.

To each his/her own, but I tend to think this disc is a lot better than it gets credit for. For me it flies with a nice S pattern, very good glide and reasonable speed. I would use this disc even if it didn't float. It's a lot like a Beast; just a bit shorter and slower. I wish it came in champion plastic, but the Dragon's DX plastic seems to be a different formulation than that of most DX discs. It's not super durable, but definitely more so than typical DX, and a lot grippier too. I'd recommend this disc, especially if you want a floater.

I bought the Dragon because it floats. I really liked its grip, and the way it flew with my first few throws with it. Unfortunately, this floating plastic isn't very durable and it only lasted a few throws before it became too under-stable. My Dragon now makes a good roller, and it's still the best disc for a good round of canoe disc golf.
