The Stegosaurus is the quintessential mid-range driver designed for some turn with a little bit of end-fade. Of course, in a lighter weight, it is more understable than the flight numbers might suggest. But for kids, this mid will do the trick in fading to the basket for a short putt. It has a somewhat deeper rim for more of a "frisbee" feel for new players.

NOTE: The Stegosaurus is molded from the ABC Mission.

    Egg Shell Details

Egg Shell plastic is a surprisingly grippy, yet semi-firm plastic blend with some really fun decorative effects like splatters, swirls, and sparkles. It helps the Dino Disc models look bright and whimsicle, perfect for players who love lightweight, floating discs.

This disc is great for kids learning the sport.  With it as lightweight as it is, they can keep the disc in the air long enough to actually have fun playing the sport.  Before I bought these discs, my kids would come out with me from time to time, but even with really understable discs, they just could get them to fly far enough to really enjoy the sport.  This all changed with the few Dino discs I bought.  Now they can throw over 150 feet and their faces light up when they see it go.  A great purchase for anyone looking to get kids involved.

My six year old son absolutely loves the Stegasourus. I take discs home all the time, and this is the first disc he ever wanted to keep for himself. We took them out for a round of disc golf with it of which he had a great time. He was able to throw this disc farther than other discs and for six year olds, Dinosours are just really cool.

After we got home he kept, asking where his disc was and confirming that he got to keep that disc for himself.

Big win for Dino discs and a great way to help grow the sport by helping children to enjoy disc golf more.

The Dino Discs in general are a great concept! Take some discs that are pretty easy to throw anyway, as based on molds from ABC Discs, then make them a lightweight plastic with a lot of really pretty effects in the plastic. I could see handing these to any kid and getting a "cool" reaction. The Stegosaurus is the more overstable of the two mid-range discs in the small line-up, but seeing as they run about 124 grams and are very easily overpowerred by a guy like myself, I wouldn't call it overstable. It is a disc that a kid can handle and will probably still have a little fade for somebody chucking it a hundred feet. The plastic is more grippy that you'd expect when glancing at it.

The Stegosaurus gets 5 stars from me for being a great beginner choice, though there is a more understable mid in the Dino Disc lineup for players who need something more fade resistant. Discs for kids!
