The Pterodactyl is a manageable driver for young disc golfers. The rim isn't too wide, thus a high-speed release is not necessary. However, it still lands in the "distance driver" category and provides a great gateway to longer, more impressive throws down the fairway. Like other Dino Discs, it is lightweight, floats in water, and is aimed at young players or those players without a lot of arm speed.

NOTE: The Pterodactyl is made with the mold for the ABC Secret Weapon.

This disc is crazy understable. Absolutely a beginners best friend if youre looking to learn hyzer flip shots. However the light weights do make the disc very wind sensitive.

This disc is great for kids learning the sport.  With it as lightweight as it is, they can keep the disc in the air long enough to actually have fun playing the sport.  Before I bought these discs, my kids would come out with me from time to time, but even with really understable discs, they just could get them to fly far enough to really enjoy the sport.  This all changed with the few Dino discs I bought.  Now they can throw over 150 feet and their faces light up when they see it go.  A great purchase for anyone looking to get kids involved.

Mine is a super light 121g disc.
At first I could not figure out what was up with this disc.   If I throw it flat it likes to turn all the way over to the right and slam into the ground.

On a whim, I tried throwing it with a *huge* down angle/hyzer - since it was crazy extreme, I countered with crazy extreme angle, I mean like a fully ~80 deg.   It worked, wow did it work!   I normally throw about 300', and this crazy thing added 50' to that.   I'm not too sure what it will do at the end of it's flight on any given throw however.

It *still* is prone to go right given any excuse, so if there is a little left to right breeze I can't use it.   On the other hand, if the breeze is right to left it will easily fight it and fly straight.

I can't place it well, but it's my disc that goes farthest by a wide margin, and it's fun trying to figure out it's personality.

I've recently discovered by accident that it is a wild roller.   Went about 420ft!

The ultra light weight of the Dino discs Pterodactyl make it way to flippy for me to throw (unless I just throw it with a wrist flick or putter motion) but this disc is a game changer for my kids!

My small 11 year old (size of most 9 year olds) was able to get his first birdie in disc golf ever with the Pterodactly. Just by picking up these discs he instantly picked up about 30 feet of distance and was super excited to get his first birdie ever!

This concept of ultra light discs is so great for kids for a number of reasons. Kids are able to get more distance because of the ultra light weight they're able to get the full s-curve flight path. The second reason the ultra light weight is beneficial is because kids are terrible at waiting their turn to throw and if you have a group of them all playing at once, there is a really good chance that someone is going to get hit. It hurts a lot less to get hit by a 120 gram disc as it does to get hit by a 175g disc.

If you have a kid or anyone else who you want to like disc golf but know they struggle to throw 100 feet, consider getting them some Dino Discs. For the drivers, my kids like the Pterodactly the best.
