After putting with P2s for a while and seeing okay at best results, I decided to give the Wizard a shot. I like a deeper putter and the Wizard fits perfectly in my hands. Even better, it is the most consistent putter I have ever used. Not too much glide, not too overstable. It hits everything that I'm looking for in a putting putter.

I switched to putting with Wizards about a year ago.  I had used Aviars and P2s before the switch.  I love the various selections of firmness Wizards offer, as well as their unique stamping options.  Overall, the Wizard is a reliable putter, and I can't imagine not having a shelf full of them to use in the future.  If you like Aviars and P2s, and you are thinking about making a change, give the Wizard a go; I think you'll like it.

If you are new to disc golf and you only buy one putter, get this one. When I played my first round this was the only disc that made me feel like I had actual control over where I put it. I use the Super Stupid Soft version - it has a great grip in my hand and, as others have mentioned, grips the chains as well. This disc is so reliable which makes it fantastic for working on form.

This putter is for ANYONE that wants a beaded putter. The bead is enough to be there, but not be in your face. The Super Stupid Soft plastic is so durable, so grippy and feels fantastic in the hand! This was the putter I had for the longest time and since recently switching to Innova and Discraft exclusively, I based the putter that I got off of how this disc flies and feels. It flies consistently, it has minimal to no spit-outs from the basket, it doesn't roll away and is so great for approach shots because it will reliably stick and not roll. If someone asked me to recommend a putter, it would 100% be this one, unless of course, you don't like a bead of any kind.

My favorite putter. Word for the wise, when I first started I had 3 kinds of putters. After playing for years with woeful putting I finally figured out that throwing one kind  of putter actually improved my putting. Trust me pick one and stick with it until you find one you can depend on. Practice baskets will teach you this lesson and prove the theory.

I'm pretty new to disc golf, but I have cycled through the aviar and judge before finding the wizard. It's now the only putter I putt with, but I have found more comfort approaching and teeing with my other putters. I feel confident with this in my hand with its reliable flight path and forgiving nature!

The hype is real! I know "feel" is a matter of opinion, but to me SSS plastic feels great in all conditions and spit outs are few and far between. It's stable enough to hold up to the wind while putting, but not so overstable that it hyzers out on you. It handles its own off the tee but I mainly use it for C1 and jump putts. When it comes to ringing up the chains this is the Brett Hart of putters - the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.

I have this disc in SSS plastic at 174 grams. I can definitely see what all of the hype around this putt and approach disc is all about. To start, it feels great in the hands. That is said a lot about a ton of different discs, but it sure is important when it comes to putters because that can be the difference between missing and making tough putts. The flight is very consistent as well, as the disc finishes slightly overstable when thrown. The overall performance of this disc is consistent, which makes it one of the more popular putters on the market, and one of the best discs to own as a beginner.

This disc is a very reliable putter. The super stupid soft plastic sticks to the chains very well and has made it very hard to chain out. this is also a good throwing putter and will keep its line until the end of its flight where it hyzers out. this had been my go to putter right away and it has never left my bag.

I'm a newer disc golf player and decided I should up my putting game. I invested a few bucks into a wizard and was not disappointed. I'm not a fan of using it as an approach putter, as I have a habit of slamming everything into trees at full speed (including my hand), but my putts are way more consistent. I have a magnent and a judge and this disc seems to fly in 2x more than both of them. You need to practice with it to ensure you've got its flight pattern down. Great disc.

I have been playing for about 8 months very actively, was putting with aviars until I picked up 3 wizards. Pure white, $$$, and SSS. They changed the game for me. My confidence level with putting has gone through the roof with these. SSS has been my go-to for putts within circle 1 and 2. I even recently hit a 90 footer from a tricky position with it. I have been using $$$ when it's cold for the improved grip. The pure white is more of an approach disc for me around 100-150 feet, and competes with my zone or harp for those shots. Overall such a great mold, feels similar in the hand to a judge but more options in plastic.

Feel: This putter has a great feel to it, a nice elegant shoulder that rolls easily to a flat top, the edge is rounded, but gradually, so it fits in my hand well, I'm not usually a beaded putter guy, but this one doesn't feel too bad. Every time i pick up this disc, I am filled with confidence, i don't think i have slammed more 50 footers with any other disc

Flight: I really never throw my wizard, so I truthfully have no idea whether or not it is a good throwing putter. However, when putting, the wizard has a decent fad at the end, that forces me to commit to the putt, and make it in.

Comparison: Flight wise, this disc is super similar to the infinite discs myth. It feel somewhat like the myth a little too, but just more rounded.

Plastic: I have a RFF wizard, that plastic is great for snowy weather, as it is ultra flexible, or you could even say "really frickin flexible" ;) It also has outstanding grip, which is a huge contributor to the long putts i make all the time with my wizard in my hands.

Five star disc! This review is about my pink SSS 175g wizard. I am a RHBH beginner-to-novice player who shoots 5 over par on the short tees and 15 over par on the long tees at my local course. I throw this disc at my skill level 185ft.

Brand new this disc flew straight with a hard/fast fade at the end. If I aimed a little to the right it was constant in landing near my desired goal and easily was my best disc learning this sport. The only thing I’d change flight numbers wise... is the glide down to 4.

Fast forward six months and the disc is broken/beat in and flies a touch to the right before coming back to finish DEAD straight. I’d put glide at 4 still, add -.5 turn and drop fade to .5 making this a point and shoot disc.

Putting. This disc I have gone back and forth on. I really want to like it as a putter, but it is mostly a driving disc for my bag.

Love this putter so much that I bag 4 of them. 1. Super Glow, 1. SSS, 1. 4-S wizard and 1. Soft plastic wizard. Perfect driving disc for those wooded par 3 holes where you need a disc to go straight and just park itself near the basket. Love the SSS plastic and the $SS plastic. Love the grippy feel that helps the disc stick to the chains. The second you put a Wizard in your hands you will feel this wave of confidence rush over you.

I SWEAR by the Wizard. Some people say it's all just mental and some say it's the greatest putter ever made. I don't know what the answer is, but I know I've tried at least a dozen different putters and the wizard is hands down no contest my favorite that I've ever thrown. I have a bit of a hyzer to my putts, so something a little stable to OS is perfect for me.

I used to putt with the Medium stiff wizards before they discontinued them in production. I have since over the years switched to SS and then eventually SSS and love them both. When it gets a little bit colder I break out the Erasers sometimes, but typically bag two SSS and can't imagine changing putters ever again.

The wizard is a fantastic putt and approach disc for all skill levels. After playing quite a bit for a few months, I decided I needed to update my putter and pick up a few to practice with. I decided on the Super Stupid Soft (SSS) Wizard and haven't looked back. It's been fantastic for putting and short approach shots (<200 ft. give or take). It flies very straight with a little, predictable overstable fade at the end. The SSS plastic is very grippy and feels great in the hand.

For putting, the SSS Wizard really grabs the chains and rarely spits out. You can throw it hard at the chains and it'll stop easily. The combination of glide and fade makes it a very predictable putter and makes longer putts a bit easier to make.

For approach shots, the Wizard is again very reliable. It makes short approach shots feel easy. On my home course, there's a hole that's just under 200 ft. I often throw a Wizard  from a stand-still, not very hard at that, and end up within 10 ft of the basket. When the Wizard hits the ground, there's very little ground play as the Wizard essentially stops and stays put.

Overall, I'd recommend you pick up a Wizard if you're looking for a reliable putt and approach or if you're looking for a McPro Aviar alternative.

This is the standard by which all other putters should be measured.  I've used Aviars, Ryno, polecat, magnets, harp, dagger, etc.  But always come back to the Wizard.  I even bought a full stack of PD2s thinking they would replace my wizards.  It took less than 3 months of use before I swapped back to Wizards.

I don't have much else to say, if I could only play with one single disc, it'd likely be a wizard.

As soon as I felt this putter in my hand I knew this was going to be my new go-to putter. The SSS plastic has just the amount of grip for my taste; it's kind of chalky/gummy but not floppy. I have tried to use this disc as an approach but I consistently grip lock it due to the rim depth. The glide on this disc is great for that extra long putt but will get blown off course pretty easy if there is any serious wind.

Finally found a putter that i will stick with, ive bounced around different putters ever since getting into the sport and this one is by far my favorite. Fantastic feel in the hand and even better feeling when i release it. Im comfortable with this disc for shots up 120 ft. So far i have only one downside and its that the disc has dinged up pretty quick but i love this putter enough that buying fresh ones wont bother me too much

There's a reason the Wizard is so popular, it is really a phenomenal putter.  Straight flight with enough overstability to hold its line in the wind, this is an excellent all-around putter.  It also seems to have a touch of glide that similiar putters like the Aviar don't have.  I've found the Wizard to be good for multiple putting styles and conditions.  It's a bit of a deeper grip, but it is certaintly not unreasonable.

I have Wizards in both Special Blend and Super Stupid Soft.  Special Blend is a very firm mix but still has a decent grip.  The only negative I've found of Special Blend is that it loses chunks pretty quickly especially on some of the sharper edges of some baskets.  I prefer to use Super Stupid Soft, although buyer beware, Gateway blends seems to have good amount of variability to how they actually feel.  There's a good chance that if you buy two Wizards of the same plastic they may not feel the same.  Gateway's website has a good explanation of their plastics that seems to explain some of this.  I've found that I can mitigate some of this by buying identical looking Wizards in groups.  Just something to be aware, especially when shopping online where you don't have the disc in hand.

Overall, the Wizard is a great putter and definitely worth a try if you are searching for a new one.  Just keep the plastic consistency issues in mind if you decide you like it and want more Wizards!

I know that the Wizard is one of the most beloved putters on the market, but I just do not share the sentiment for the disc that everybody else has. The disc has some great flight and feels good in the hand, but the inconsistency in how they are produced and the differences from one putter to another putter were enough to cause me to part ways and go in search of a new putter. It was a big issue for me to not be able to grab another SSS Wizard of the same weight to expect similar results.

Overall the disc can be a great choice, just be wary of the inconsistency in runs if it is a putter you are considering throwing.

Absolutely the best putter I have ever owned and ever thrown. It may say that it is a 2 fade, yet it rarely ever comes to that when being used to putt with. When thrown with enough whip the Wizard will sail straight for 50 feet no problems straight into the chains. It fits extremely well in my hand and comes out of it even better. Once worn in correctly there will never be a need for another putter.

Keep a clean one just for putting and have a second for driving. Don't be fooled, super stupid soft DOES NOT mean it is floppy. This is still a stiff disc. The SSS means it's grippy

When I first got my max weight SSS Wizard I really liked it as an approach disc because I had a couple good throws in the beginning with it. I never used it as a putting putter, just for approaches and I never quite got the feel for it after the first couple rounds. I know a lot of people really like it, but I just couldn't develop any consistency out of my hand with it. I did like throwing it on a slight anhyzer off the tee and it would carry and slowly turn back over for drives 125-200. However, when I used it for touch approach shots from 60-100 I couldn't quite figure out how hard I needed to throw it to get it to stick by the basket. I started shopping around for discs to replace it and eventually landed on the MVP Plasma Ion. The only thing I would say the SSS Wizard has on the Ion is that the Wizard doesn't skip at all; it pretty much sticks where it lands. However seeing as I couldn't get consistent, clean releases with it, it didn't stay in my bag for more than a couple months. It was a good introduction to driving putters off the tee for me, though.

SSS and RFF 173 for both. I liked thes discs a lot at first, but both of mine had a tendency to bounce out of the basket, which doesn't happen with other putters since I changed my putting style to hit lower on the chains. It is still a good disc, but I prefer the colt and judge to it. I also felt that this disc beat up really fast in both plastics and just wasn't very durable.

Fights wind really good and sticks to the ground on approach shots...as long as you match the angle of the disc to ground.

I have both a SSS (S3) and S Wizard, 175g.  Love the feel of them both, but the SSS adds a little extra grip.  I love the way the Wizard putts.  It makes you give it a good smooth kick out of your hand to keep it straight, like any other overstable putters (Challenger, PA1), but it doesn't want to fade as hard/fast, making it great for long, straight putts.

I've journeyed through many different brands of putters, and I've found that when you throw them in a way that gets them flying right, most should go straight into the basket all the same, but I've settled on the Wizard because it helps me do it most consistently.

Best putter I've ever thrown. The Wizard is probably the disc I throw most often. The SSS plastic is the best feeling, most durable baseline plastic on the market. From putting to any shot 150 feet and below, this is the disc I use. It goes where you throw it, holds any angle very well, and pretty much sits where it hits. Definitely the most controllable putter I've ever owned.

I have had about five of these all in different plastic types. It is a great putter and makes it easy for beginners to learn how to putt. My only complaint is that when I miss the chains this disc tends to roll for a while, sometimes to my advantage, usually not.

Can you say goto putter. Anyone who hasn't atleast tried one, needs too! Great feel, in SS and SSS and love the float and accuracy I can get with these. Keep them clean and they will grab chains hard to give you that extra edge with your putt game.

Best putter I've thrown. It holds pretty much any line beautifully making it a good choice for any throw under 150-175 feet. The SSS material sticks to the chains like a magnet, and feels good in the hand too.

Best putter in the world.  I own 10.   If you throw it "nutral" it will fly just like the inbound graph.  But it will also stay on any other line you put it on.  I use this disc for anything under 150'.  IfI could only use one disc the rest of my life it would be an sss wizard.

My older bro just got one of these and its nice and easy to control with minimum release. I noticed a gritty type of feel with the plastic when he let me borrow it the other day. Feels amazing and has a nice size rim that makes it easy to hold with my fan putter grip.

I was hoping this disc wasn't going to be over-hyped and thankfully I've discovered it's not. This is now my favorite putter! I haven't used many putters, but of the 3 or 4 that I have this has been by far my favorite disc in regards of flight and feel.

I have an RFF(Really Freaking Flexible). I Really Freaking love it. It's the best approach disc I own. It can take the heat and lands without skipping. Very predictable. I need to try out the other flexibilities that are available when I get the cash.

This is my best putter and I lost it. I bought it from Kansas City and I really liked it because of the bead and because of the grip because the one I had was an SSS Wizard. Really great putter. And as I can see by the comments, I'm not the only one that likes this disc. :)

I used to use an Innova Aviar but after I got the Wizard SSS, I was hooked and will never look back. The Wizard sticks to the chains and has a very consistant flight for me. I use a 171 gram and it cuts through the wind with predictability. I have had it for over a year and it is aging gracefully. Try one and you'll be glad you did.

Best putter i've thrown...ever. I have a 175 SSS Wiz and I use it on short drives, up-shots, and its my go-to putter when wind isn't a factor.

Great putter. What else can I say. I used it for 2 years and its still in my bag. Great for 100 ft approachs. Very predictable.

Far and away the best putter I've ever used. It's small, has a nice bead, and can weigh up to 174 grams. Better yet the plastic is always pretty grippy even if you have to wear them in a little (some, like the G9i plastic, require more wear to become grippy than others). The different plastics mean you'll ALWAYS find a Wizard that feels as soft or firm as you'd like, and Gateway is a pleasure to deal with.
