What comes after the "Super Stupid Soft" (SSS) plastic by Gateway? It is, of course, the "SSSS" or 4S plastic which is even more soft and very flexible. The disc can be folded in half. It's a great disc for players who love their putters very soft and comfortable to throw.

Love this plastic has an almost chalky feel to it that provides great grip and allows me to get great pop off the disc when putting even when damp. Straight shooter inside C2 with consistent flight to the basket I only use these as putting putters so have never thrown them from the tee

I tried this putter after hearing about gateway plastics  and immediately noticed a difference in the consistency of my putts. I have a few points that might help some people make a purchase. The only problem with this disc, is that I wouldn't recommend it for people with small hands. It has a deep rim and tall profile which makes it hard for me to get my fingers fanned close to the middle of the disc. The closer I can get my fingers to the center of the disc, the more control I feel like I have with a fan grip. Gateway has the best plastics plastic selection without a doubt. Ssss sticks chains on the opposite side of my throwing arm, unlike most putter blends from other companies. Hope this helps!

Beginner Review- As someone who started playing 4 months ago and is just getting a handle of overstable molds, I'm really liking the Wizard. Not only is Gateway pretty wallet friendly with a plethora of plastic types to choose from, the Wizard seems to be available with every plastic ever made by man. The SSSS plastic is a somewhat more grippy, flexible feeling variant than the lesser S's but isn't as soft as my favorite....Lunar. With 5 misprint Wizards I've gotten from Infinite, along with a DD Recruit Lite practice basket...I've really been able to up my putting game and get more consistent with shots. Really recommend the Wizard for a legendary putter for almost any beginner.

    Sticky Turnover

RHBH LHBH  176g 4S " SSSS"  Wizard.   Deadly accurate with slight turnovers.  Has the grip that holds onto your hand, does not move much after chain contact.  I clean the dust off before long touch shots.  One of those discs other players run up to the basket to see what you threw.  Glide is long because i throw it turned over.  Also great for Hyzer putts. Accurate Flight numbers.

The Wizard was the first "real" putter I bought after graduating from some random beginner kit I found on Amazon, and it has been with me ever since.  I love the feel of the disc, but my affinity for it goes beyond just grip and comfort.  It doesn't seem to take bad bounces after long missed putts (more forgiving after hard landings or bad bounces) and doesn't slip out of chains as much as I see from other putters.

I don't use it to drive or approach ever, so I cannot speak to that (I throw forehand and don't like how deep this disc is for my grip), but strictly as a putter, I don't think I'll ever try another.

The Wizard putter is my go to for all things putting.  It is straight, accurate and grippy.  The only thing I don't like about it is it collects dust easily, but that is true of most every grippy disc.

I would recommend it for beginners and advanced players.

As far as I know, it does what it says it is going to do.  I do not use it for long putts, not quite as accurate at a distance as I would like.

I own more of these in my bag then any other disc.  I would recommend it.  There is a reason this is still one of the best selling putters around and has been for a while.

Wizard: as a beaded putter, this is my go-to putting disc. It flies straight with a small wrist flick, with the under-rim-bead offering a little additional comfort for my spindly fingers.

Plastics: 4S - this is my 'go-to' winter putter, with temperatures reaching down to 20F (or below), the extra gumminess of this plastic solidifies to form a more neutral, firm plastic in the cold. In warmer months (or down right hot summer months), this is a droopy disc with lots of grip. For the latter reason, that's why it remains in my bag year round - it can stick to the ground, which adds a little confidence when approaching opposite a cliff/drop off, where a rollaway could cost a lot.

Only reason for 4 out of 5 stars is the lack of consistency between plastics. Out of two 4S's, one was noticeably more pliable out of the box. The same one is still more pliable and grippy than the other, even after throwing putting practice sessions and playing a few rounds.

Tl;dr - Serviceable beaded putter for beginners that has great grip but feels awkward in the hand for driving.

I am a relatively new player, and the Wizard (4S) is the first putter that I have locked onto. I initially settled on it because my friend bought a 3S and an Eraser Wizard, and I loved the grip on a cold day.

    Pros:

Gateway has a great array of plastics, which gives you the ability to pin down the exact plastic you want for different throws or weather conditions if you fall in love with the mold. The 4S plastic has great grip. I like the feel of the friction if I push down hard with my pointer finger on the firm of the discs. That plastic also catches the chains very well.

I really like the feel in the hand for putting. I bought 5 misprints, and two of them have this little line where the plastic meets or something on the rim that is the perfect place to rest your pointer finger if you use a similar grip to me.

The Wizard is a beaded putter, but I don't notice the bead much with my grip.

    Cons:

I am not a fan of how it feels in the hand for driving/upshots. I have medium-to-small sized hands, and the rim plus the biggish bead make it uncomfortable to tuck the disc entirely in my hand. I end up using a modified grip where the disc sits farther forward in my hand. It might be better with a fan or modified fan grip, but four-fingered power grip is not the Wizard's strong suit.

If you do use them for driving, they warp pretty easily. It hasn't happened to me much, but my friend's noticeably warped within 5 or so decent tree hits. I don't recommend putting with the same one that you drive if you get one if one of the softer plastics.

Wizards also have a bit more finish on the ground than I'd like, which needs to be accounted for if you use them for approach shots.

I am content with the Wizard, but I am still on the look for something better.

I purchased the SSSS wizard in order to prevent roll-aways on baskets that are on sharp hills that occur on my local courses.

The Good:  This is a very nice driving putter that does not go far from where it lands.  Really nice for island holes or tricky placements.  If you hit metal but don't make your putt, it flops to the ground and just doesn't move.  Really cuts down on roll aways and on pole hits it doesn't do anything too crazy.

The Bad:  You will get spit outs occasionally that would have stayed in with another disc.  Where I have seen this the most is when a putt is hyzering in to the basket from the right side chains where my dagger and others will just plow in there and drop down, the ssss wizard will occasionally bounce off and spit right.

Overall:  I think this is a good situational disc for danger putts.  I would not lean on it as a main putter.

    Weight: 173g

First got this disc it was over stable now more on the stable side. Really sticks to the chains and also the ground. Feels really good in the hand soft and smooth.

I use it for driving up to 125' Really straight with a little fade at the end.

Great disc. highly recommend getting one.

You can pry the 4S Wizard from my cold dead fingers.  When I first saw a buddy with a 4S, I said, "Why do you need a disc you can fold in half?"

Then I watched it stick wherever it was thrown.  Rarely rolling away, rarely skipping.

The 4S Wizard hits, and stays.  Mine is about 6 months old, has officially become a puddle-top and is relatively understable for what it is.  But this is the ONLY disc I will throw under 100' upshot, or in any kind of death putt situation.  It's glue, in disc form.

I will caution anybody with a beat-in 4S, these things get so soft, hard putts with them will result in the disc bending against the chain and spitting directly back out.  I don't do anything other than loft putts with it.

You need a 4S wizard if you play on anything other than completely flat park-grass.

This is my Approach disc of choice, and I use it for anything within 150' probably.  The super soft feel of the disc helps to stick the landing and put it right by the basket.  The Grip of course is off the charts.  I also use this for my longer putts (30-50') as I don't have to worry too much about a bad rollaway or comeback putt, since this disc stops quickly.  This is a great approach putter!

Received my first wizard as a players pack and it immediately is in my bag and not leaving.  I hated soft putters until I used the 4S wizard.  It is soft but holds it's shape.  Beautiful straight flight with almost no fade.  Throw it off the tee, use it for upshots, or even as a putter!  Grab a wizard and work some magic.

This is my marshmallow disc. I use this for upshots, finesse touch shots, and some drives in an open field. I can throw it full power on a hyzer and it flips up and flies straight for 300+ feet. This putter will not roll away, or skip 30 feet past the basket; it hits the grass and stops on a dime. A very beautiful disc, and a crucial part of my bag.

    4S Review

I recently pick up a couple of the black beauties.  I love the feeling of this putter.  Its really soft and floppy. I like what when I hit the basket, it doesn't roll away.  The soft plastic absorbs the impact and lands around and near the basket.  Love the texture, especially during the past winter months. Wizards will always have a home in my bag.
