I use this for putting only; I have thrown it a few times and it has not really been that exciting (I use my Judge as a throwing putter instead.) For putting, I really like the feel of the eraser plastic, and the 2 fade has helped me make some long putts/upshots where I throw it high into the air and have it fade in. However, that fade is a blessing and a curse sometimes, since it makes long straight spin putts harder. Not a perfect disc, but overall pretty great.

The best putting putter I have found so far. The depth of the rim feels perfect in my hand. The disc is easy to find consistency at hitting the chains. On the occasional miss, it will not fly to far from the basket.

There's so many plastics out there, but for putting, SSS and Eraser have been the best for me.

This is a beaded putter. If you don't like beads but are curious about why so many people putt with Wizards, check out the Warlock.

    Just started a month ago.

I bought a box of varied plastics/weight Wizards (merry Jane's stamp) and I really like the eraser version best. It has a great grip and sticks to the chains.  This is incredibly straight and predictable. Like most people, I bought a big ol stack of discs (mostly Lone Star's,  an aviar dx,  and buzzz ss) and I have played with my wizards more than any other discs whether putters/drivers/mids.  Its really windy where I am so the eraser seems to really work well. I can use this for any spot on the course and it really is a must for beginners. Most recommend disc in my opinion if you have no damn idea what to do yet. Will def keep a wiz in my pocket from now on.

As a true beginner playing only for a few months this is the first putter I feel completely confident with. After purchase my putting has improved dramatically, I'm sure it has a lot to do with me playing a lot more but also for me personally the feel of the eraser plastic can't be beat. I also have a few other different Aviar's in various plastics and I feel this outperforms them whether I'm circle one or back further for an approach shot it all feels great coming out of the hand and I couldn't recommend with eraser more.

This putter is very... Meh? As an inside the circle putter it is certainly serviceable (which is arguably true of 99% of putters on the market). As a thrower it is really hard to turn over, and consistent.

My problem with the wizard came when I started wanting to make Circle 2 putts. This putter is just too OS to putt with outside the circle and have any hope of consistency. Even switching to a challenger or a link and the difference was immediately notable.

Great beginner disc and the mold most companies copy when they make a beaded classic putter. Just too dang OS once you start looking for C2 putts.

Eraser Wizard's have been my go to putter (putting putter) since being gifted one many years ago. I left disc golf a couple of years ago and am now returning back. With what discs I have left I had one beat in 171g Eraser Wizard and a hand full of mids to hit the course; I fell back in love... with the sport and the disc... I Purchased four more in Eraser plastic at 173g for my full-time practice/course putting putters. I find the disc easy to predict its flight path before it leaves my hand; often if I miss the first putt the 2nd one is going to sink or draw a considerable amount of metal. I do not have much experience Driving these putters and only have experience in ERASER plastic.. I find the Eraser plastic to have a nice tact to touch that's easily returned with washing of dish soap if they get "slick" also they are pretty firm but not a FIRM. Happy shopping and playing :)

While I love having a Wizard in my bag, the Eraser plastic is primarily the reason for my review and rating. It's kind of an in-between in terms of grip and flexibility and almost seems like it doesn't know it's own place in the Wizard line up.

The grip is good as in most Gateway plastics but it's neither very stiff or very flexible and I think for this reason it's kind of found its way out of my bag.

If you're looking for stiffness and grip I think pure white is the way to go, if you're looking for grip and flex, super soft and up would be your best bet.

I recently lost my Innova Aero and I had to rethink my putting game. I tried the Aviar, the Harp, and this disc. The bead provides the perfect place to line up your index finger and this is a comfortable disc if you are looking for a beaded putter. I personally have had better luck recently with non-beaded putters, and this has led to the Wizard leaving my bag. The Eraser plastic is super grippy and really sticks to the chains. I had one putt where I hit the outside rim, and I am sure that only this plastic and my BT Soft Harp would have stayed in the basket. It  did take some getting used to the Wizard, but I would definitely recommend that any beginner take their time and use this disc if you enjoy beaded putters. Once you are comfortable with it, I am sure you will enjoy the Wizard.

I love my Eraser Wizard! It flies on whatever line I put it on and sticks to the chains when it hits. My putt game improved drastically when I switched from an MVP putter. I don’t like it off the tee, but I’m not really a backhand bomber. If you’re in the market for a new putter, try the Eraser Wizard!

We all know Wizards are one of the top putters so I'll save some time and skip straight to the two plastics I've had considerable experience with after I cover the basics: Great driving putter, consistently stable, can hold a line well, decent glide, but not too temperamental.

Eraser: I think this is the BEST feel for putting...It's firm but tacky and loves to grab chains. It feels good throughout the hand and gives me confidence for both upshots and putts long and short. Not the most durable plastic however and is a tad more understable than others.

RFF: Great for upshots...this thing sticks like velcro most of the time and is essential on a course like DeLa. It's pretty stable, and feels nice and tacky with hand but also isn't too flexible where it flops when holding straight. I've recently had some trouble with it's feel because the top is too soft. Leaves me with less confidence for putts compared to other plastics. This is my upshot putter from 180 to 100ft.

I tried putting with SSS Wizards for about a year, but it never clicked 100% as a putting putter with me.  Once I tried the Judge, I swapped them out.  The place this disc still hold in my bag, however is my driving/upshot putter.  I love the stiffness and the grip that comes from the eraser plastic.  I play a lot of cold weather rounds, and the eraser plastic is honestly my favorite in the cold!

I had used the SS Magic for more than a year before I tried the Wizard. After trying a putter with a bead I can't believe how much control this disc has.  I used to fade to the left, but the bead keeps the disc connected to my hand longer and provides a more consistent release.  I can't say enough about this disc.

About the plastic: the Eraser plastic is stupid grippy. At some point, Gateway changed the composition; the run I have is about as flexible as SS. I think these are more recent than the bricks but I'm not sure on that. Mine has a tacky feel similar to the sweet spot in the life cycle of BT Medium. As for durability, it seems to hold up a bit better than the Softs I'm accustomed to, but if you really want extreme durability, avoid the Sure Grip plastics and try the E line.

About the flight: pretty much like any of the Sure Grip Wizards: long, overstable, glidey. Not sure there's much difference from Soft aside from the feel. This is my favorite Wizard to putt with.

I love this putter. Other than my Wasps, it's my favorite disc in my bag. I have a glow, evolution, and two eraser. I'm slowly phasing out my Glow disc, as it has really taken a beating and is now stable to understable. The glow plastic does not take kindly to being thrown into trees, but the Evolution just wont die. I use the Evo for my upshot/approaches and my Erasers for putts within 50 feet. The Eraser plastic is the best blend for me, dry and chalky but not tacky, which is what I prefer when putting. The Evo is awesome off the tee as well.

Wow, what can be said about this disc that hasn't been said already? It's one of the most popular putters ever made for a reason...it just works! I learned my approach game with this disc, and still use it 8 years later. Flies dead straight before fading predictably at the end of the flight. Can hold an anny line as well. The more they beat in, the longer they hold the straight flight path before fading out.

I've thrown all types of approach shots with Wizards... from soft floating annys to thumbers to sidearm flicks. If you make a mistake with this disc, it was your own fault. It flies very true. Wonderful off the tee too, I pretty much use these for anything <250 ft. You can really put a good rip on them.

If there was any con to the Wizard, it would be the inconsistancy of the plastics, but I choose to see that as a pro. I like options. I drive with a Soft, approach with a BEAT up SSS, and putt with an Eraser. Can't recommend these enough!

If I could only throw one mold for the rest of my life, it would be a Wizard. Not only is it a fantastic putter, it is hands down the best driving putter in the market. If you like beaded putters, this is the gold standard by which all others will be judged.

    Typical flights:

If you throw with a neutral angle, this will be rail straight with a healthy fade.

    It holds a hyzer.

If you throw with a slight anhyzer it will fly almost perfectly straight.

    Plastics:

I prefer firm Erasers for putting, an RFF for tricky approaches, SSS for typical approaches, and a firm soft for driving. But there's hundreds of plastic variations at gateway, si try a bunch to find the ones you like!

Was searching for a while for a putter that felt good to me, cycled through a beadless Aviar, Rhyno, Magnet, and eventually picked up the Eraser Wizard. This plastic works perfect for a push-putter, very stiff, but still great grip. The bead and rim depth feel great for my hand, although I do have larger fingers/hands.

With a push putt inside the circle, it will fly very straight, with just a little fade at the very end of the flight (I try to get it to hit the chains before this happens though) On longer putts, that are a bit more lofty, it tends to dive a litte earlier.

The only downside to the eraser material is that it gets beat up pretty fast. Chains will leave indentions on the plastic, and hitting the rim on the basket can take chunks out of it, so if you like it, pick up a few.

I've been putting with Wizards for a while and I love them. My favorite putter due to amazing consistency. No matter what plastic you choose, your Wizard will act like a Wizard. Also works great for driving short holes. My favorite is either Organic or Throwback/Eraser pink.

Just recently picked up a 175 eraser plastic Wizard. I got to feel a bunch of different Wizards before deciding, so the one I got feels great. After my first round with the Wizard, I definitely like the disc for putting. Upshots seem to be pretty good with it, but I just need to throw some more. I only threw the Wizard full power one time and it flew dead straight with a nice fade at the end.
