This was gifted to me a couple of years ago and has been my first real putter since playing the game.  This is leagues better than the starter putters that come in the beginner packs.  I enjoy the extra grip you get from the softness of the plastic.  I highly recommend this if you haven't tried one yet.

Despite being called soft, this plastic is hard and firm. Short of max power, this thing will hold any line or angle you put it on. When I drive with it, I get it to go between 250-300ft. The beat in ones turn a little, but the new ones go dead straight. Dead straight for up shots. Solid beaded putter

It took me awhile and a lot of different putters to finally get to Gateway's Wizard. The Wizard is a nice stable, big bead putter that comes in an almost endless number of different plastics. My experience with Wizards have been with soft, ss, sss, rff, and pwp. I reall like soft for driving and upshots, mine is firm with an almost velvety, tacky feel to it. I also putt with SSS. To me this is more similar to DX in firmness, but much more grippy. In my opinion Gateway's putter plastics are the best out there, they beat in, but mine aren't getting beat up cosmetically like a lot of other baseline type plastics do.

Putting wise, this is a pretty stable putter with some fade, but it is very consistent. I know where its going, and when it misses its on me not the disc.

Where this disc shines for me is as a thrower. Fresh Wizards have a healthy fade, but as they beat in they maintain that stability in flight and straighten out. They seem to take tree hits well and don't really seem to chunk or gouge like other baseline plastics.

Overall this has been a great disc for me. If you like a beaded stable putter this is worth a go.

This is a fantastic disc if you love beaded putters. This is the most comfortable disc I've ever held it fits in my hand just right and there is a perfect place to rest my index finger above the bead.

This is the first putter I ever bought and after a couple years of playing and trying out other putters, this is still my go-to. Has a nice stable finish and can use it for 150ft approach shots, or at putting range. I also really like the feel of the shallow profile. Still not sure what "soft" is supposed to mean though.

I use this disc a lot more that I was going to because in my area there is a lot of holes that are in a lower area. With that being being said there are a few holes that the basket is an uphill throw and I seemed to always seemed to struggle with the lower area putts. When I switched to the soft wizard it solved my problem. I disagree with the glide rating that is set, I believe the rating should be more like a 3 than a 5 because my experience with this disc is that there is a lot  more drop than glide

I've grown back into the Wizard and can really see why they are so prevalent in the DG community. I bought a Soft when I started playing. I sucked at throwing it, could get about 150' and chalked it up as a disc I "didn't like". Fast forward a year and change of relentless practice, countless other putter auditions and when I took it back out to a field and fell in love. I had still used it to practice putt a lot, so it was beat up, and after throwing a few big boy shots with a slight right controlled finish, something I had not been able to control well at all up to this point, I knew then this disc was going to be a huge confidence boost in my BH putter drives and approaches. The soft plastic is not "soft", its actually very hard, grippy and stiff as a board, something that feels so good for approach shots and drives to me. Read about how a Wizard is designed, all the way to the tapered thickness on the flight plate and you'll see why this disc will glide further and keep straighter than others. There is a huge range of velocity that this stays in that "sweet spot" for. Throw it 30 mph... throw it 50... with good form it's a flip up laser. Voodoos are my go to inside the circle due to the beadless feel when actually putting but Wizards are my true joy of the putter throwing world.

I putt, approach and drive with wizards.  The glide and variety of plastic make them good for driving and putting for beginners or veteran players.  They can be a little touchy brand new but once you wear them in they will do anything. I carry a soft, Ssoft, rff, and swirly sssoft all for specific uses all the same weights and have many at home to practice.  I tend to use the harder plastic to drive and for longer putts, it comes out easier and seems to glide better. Softer seems less stable so I use that to turn around things and for shorter putts to grip chains.  Wizards in my hand just feel more comfortable than any other brand out there.

While the Soft Wizard is far from soft by putter plastic standards, I've found it to be just the right amount of grippy-ness and stiffness for me, and this is become by far my favorite, go-to, most reliable putter.

I tend to grip my putter firmly, so I've found that I like stiffer plastic that won't deform much when I press my thumb into the flight plate. I've also found that while other seem to like super grippy putters, I feel like I get a less reliably clean release with them, so I like something that's just grippy enough for me to trust that it won't slip out of my hand, but still get a smooth, clean release. I'd describe the Soft plastic as slightly grippier than my KC Pro Aviar, but less so than my Zero Medium Macana. It's about as firm as the KC Pro plastic too, but seems to be more durable.

I also bag an RFF Wizard for layup shots on difficult terrain where I need to have the disc just stick once it lands.

I love this disc. This is probably my favorite disc in my bag. I carry three always and own five to practice putting with. My only problem with this disc is approach shots. I thought the glow plastic would be more durable and would have a more reliable finish left for me, a RHBH thrower. I have tried the SSS, glow, SB, and RFF. The SSS is definately my favorite plastic. But again the main problem is that all of these are not very durable and become very straight after some use. You can't use this disc as an approach disc if you expect it to go straight and finish slightly left. It will continue on the line you put it on even if that is completely straight.

This was my first putter I ever had and I still love throwing it to this day. I mainly use this disc for approach shots and short drives. While my main putting putter is an avair, I will still use my wizard for longer putts. I really like the way this disc feels in my hands, especially with the soft plastic. I think everybody should add this disc to their bag!

I have gone through many different putters in the few years I have been playing. The first round I ever played with a wizard I instantly knew it would be my putter for the rest of my disc golf career. I like a harder soft wizard. I carry 2 wizards strictly for putting and I have 2 more for driving and upshots. I am sure that I will be purchasing more in the near future. Get yourself a wizard

When I bought my first Wizard, I intended it to be my wind putter.  I quickly became attached.  This disc is the most consistent putter I've used, and gave me an enormous confidence boost in what at the time was the weakest part of my game:  my putting.

Now I own them in hordes as my putters, my practice putters, and my upshot discs.  I own the softs, but don't be fooled, they are one of the hardest blends of the wizard (go figure).  Don't see myself changing away from these putters anytime soon.  Amazing disc.

Changed over to a SS Wizard about 6 months ago and can't say enough about this putter. It's changed my short game. Love the feel. I like a harder putter and this is perfect. Great in the hand. Catches the chains well. You can do almost anything with it. Holds a line beautifully from distance if you use it for approach or up shots. Wouldn't know what to do without a Wizard in my bag.

I have an SS Wizard that is one of two go to putters for me (the other being the Vibram Ridge). Very predictable flight and grabs the chains really well. The added glide makes it great for upshots too.

The best putter I have in my bag. It grabs the chains like crazy. Incredibly straight flying putter. Seems like it has brakes when it hits the ground.

These are my go to putter. I have 3 of these S, SS, SSS in my bag at all times. If I'm putting 95% of the time its with a wizard. They hold the line amazingly and the plastic ensures a sure grip and release every time. A must have!

The Wizard has a variety of different molds to fit your game. It's the most universal putter I have used yet. I like to try different brands of putters, every once in a while, just to make sure I'm not missing out on something special. I always come back to the realization that the wizard is unmatched in versatility and dependability. I personally like a heavy Wizard S-Series Proto (chalky). Great for drives, even better in the rain. It has lots of grippiness, without compromising too much of the firmness that I've become accustomed to. It's also the best turbo putt disc that I thrown. Every brand has their go-to putter, but Wizard is truly the go-to putter of go-to putters.

If you've been looking for an all around great putter, you really can't go wrong with the Wizard. Not only do many of the top pro's love the Wizard but it is also very beginner friendly. It is a fairly straight putter with little fade which means that the line you put it on, it stays on be it straight, hyzer or anhyzer lines. I love this putter for windy days as it doesn't seem to be as affected by it. It is also great off the tee as I can get it close to 300' on a good day. Do yourself a favor and listen to the hype. You won't be disappointed.
