After trying a huge amount of putting putters this has been the best one. Perfect level of stability to hit the ground quickly on a miss, good in the wind, great feel, perfect amount of glide for a putting putter. the run of special blend I have is grippy and firm which I like very much. If you don't like deep putters or beaded putters you may not like the wizard but if you are open to either of those traits try the wizard.

As for throwing, I prefer a shallower putter for throwing but wizards are good throwers if you like the feel.

Think "deeper judge", very straight flying, stable finish.

Doesnt fit my game but it's a great disc overall

I have always resisted reviewing Wizards and complimenting the sure grip plastic family genealogy.  What more is there to say that has not been said?  That being said I am always baffled why these are not even more popular and why Wizard only tournaments are not a common thing.  There are so many options that you can always get exactly whatever you are looking for in a putter or driver relative to flight, plastic, weight, grip, flexibility, dome... even flight plate thickness dammit.  So why do I even own other putters?  I really don't know.  Probably too much of a good thing?

I'm liking the feel of the special blend overall. Grippy yet stiff. Kind of almost feels like a pro plastic if I had to compare it to something else. Only giving it 4 stars because for whatever reason the disc feels "rounder" in my hands than other Wizards.

The wizard is one of the best putters available, and is what I recommend for anyone who prefers a beaded putter. It has a good amount of stability starting out and can handle steady winds, and beats in slowly to a more straight disc with a little more glide. I've had wizars in at least 10 different plastics, and they all seem to put and fly the same (premium plastic wizards are slightly more stable than sure grip blends).

Best part of wizards is Gateway's sure grip plastics. You can get a wizard with whatever type of flexibility and feel you prefer. It takes a little bit of time to understand their plastic names and process, but if you are specific about your putter plastic then you'll appreciate Gateway's variety. Their plastics also last forever. I've had the same stack of 10 special blend putters for over 3 years now, and they still have plenty of life in them.

This plastic is slightly grippy, and malleable. Short of max power, this thing will hold any line or angle you put it on. When I drive with it, I get it to go between 150-250ft. Feels nice for forehand upshots too. Dead straight flight pattern for upshots. Great putter, though the flexibility of the plastic may add a little wobble to some putts

The legendary Wizard! What can I say that hasn't already been said? Great for putting, even better for approaches in my opinion. Forehand or backhand. I have a RFF Wizard that I prefer to the SB one.

The best plastic blend I've felt for a Wizard. Softer than a baby's bottom.

This is my go-to putter for both driving and putting. I prefer stiffer putters, but not so much that it feels like you're putting a slab of metal. I use a SB in the summer, Eraser in the winter, and a Soft in between, so that the feel in my hand is consistent year-round. These discs come out of the box very stable, but can slowly break in for various stabilities, much like people do with DX Rocs. The selling point of the wizard is that it can handle full power off the pad, and can also be putted well into a headwind. I strongly agree. It handles power and headwind much like the KC Pro Aviar, but I find the KCPA to be too stable when putted with no wind, whereas the Wizard somehow is able to fly more straight at low speeds. The feel in the hand is more chalky than the KCPA, which I find to be a little slick. Some downsides to the Wizard is that they can be somewhat inconsistent between runs, which can be frustrating when you want a duplicate of the one you already have. The other issue I've found is that they have a tendency to warp if you launch them into a tree, but they seem to still hold their flight characteristics. Kind of obvious, but don't expect any of the plastics other than the Evo to be able to handle that violent of an impact. If you haven't tried a Wizard and like the beaded putters, give it a shot!

I had a friend let me use this disc, i can say a couple things about the plastic and the mold. The mold will hold the line you put on it to start and fade dependably when it slows.  It make it a great disc for those hook shot approaches and u shaped putts i need to get to save par.

The plastic is in one word, AWESOME.  I have experienced a lot less spit outs or chain outs on the basket on the puts that dont hit center pole.  It seems to grab chains better than any other putter that i have used.

Mmmmmm, Special Blend is quite an enjoyable mixture of a stiff flight plate and chalky chain sticking outer area. The weight distrubution feels different than the molds i've felt for the wizard, outside area having more weighted feeling that all my other plastic molds. Seems easier to nick as i have chunks already out of mine having played only 3-4 rounds so far with them (putting only with them). I say this would be my preferred plastic for wizards but they all are so enjoyable to try out. Also would note i feel the glide is less with SB
