    Opto Air - 156g

When I first got the River it felt so great in my hand that I knew this was going to be a great disc. As a speed 7 disc it has a narrower rim than the faster drivers I'm used to throwing, but it also has a larger diameter than most drivers which somehow makes it feel just right! It only took one throw to know I really liked the River. This thing flies laser straight and its endless glide makes long tunnel shots seem effortless. I'm killing it on 200 foot tunnel shots at my local course. It's easier to throw accurate shots with this disc because you don't have to use as much power to get it where you need it to go. It's like a higher speed mid-range with the accuracy of a Mako3. The trick is to not over power the River. Just keep in mind that the River will have more skip than a midrange disc.

I find the rim of the River more comfortable to throw than mid-range discs because it still feels like a driver without that sharp underside edge and thin rim that mids usually have. Some reviewers said that their Rivers were very domey, but I would say mine has only a slight dome. It's great that it's available in lower weights in the Opto Air plastic and the brilliant colors make it easy to find your disc! The Opto plastic feels great too with good grip and a smooth feel. I would say that the flight numbers are pretty accurate when not over powered, although I would give it a fade of 0.5. If you're looking for low to medium speed accuracy the River is amazing for that.

I wish i could give this disc 6 stars. It truly is as glidy as it is advertised as. It can be the perfect tunnel shot and can really be useful in increasing distance if your form is good, but you lack arm power. Absolutely love this disc. After so much use of it (for a while it felt like I broke it out every other hole), it started to get flippy on me, but now is my go to understable disc as it holds lines so well.

The Latitude 64 River is a high-glide control driver. I think this is the craziest driver in the world. The glide on the River is absolutely insane. It only has 7 speed, but also its 7 glide, so this thing goes so far when thrown with very little effort. This is the highest-glide disc ever manufactured, and I highly recommend it to anyone who was told to get a mid-range for driving, because that won't teach you to throw nose-down, and this goes very far with very little effort anyway. As a bonus, it is a driver, so it teaches you to throw your shots nose-down, so this is a high contender for my go-to fairway, but my go-to is the Innova Eagle right now because it has much more wind resistance. Try out a River anyway, and if you get an extra domey River, it'll fly forever (literally!). It seems a bit understable, though, but otherwise an amazing disc.

This turned out to be my favorite beginner disc.  I bought it in Opto Air at 153 g when I was still trying to throw something straight (well, still haven't mastered that).  Would get a great small S-curve out of it at first, and tremendous glide.  However, when my arm speed improved it began to  turn hard out of the hand and flip to a roller frequently.  Now I only use it for hyzer flips in tunnel shots.  So I bought one a bit heavier (166g) and this allows me to use it off the tee without flipping over.  You CANNOT beat the glide on this disc.

The Opto Air River Does everything you want it to on a windless day but that doesn't mean leave it home on the windy ones.

The disc is impressive on tail winds for sure. At 156g its not taken advantage of by gravity much and the wind just takes it.

This is the disc I can get to fly the best.  Nice s curve flight, and doesn't fade too hard.  If you don't have a big arm, you will like the River, the glide gets you some distance.

I plated for years with max weight drivers then I through my friends 165 gram driver and I loved it. For an experiment I bought the Opto Ait River at 153 grams and I love it. If I through it flat it goes straight for a long time and ends with a little fade. This is my only driver I use on non-windy days. I love that if I over power it the disc still flies straight and then fades to the right. I can't say enough good things about this disc. I recommend it to anyone who can through a disc flat and level.

Great glide disc. Laser beam straight with little fade at the end. This disc will glide forever. I have this disc in Opto Air 155g. Not for windy days.

This is the perfect driver for beginners, women, children, or anyone without a big arm. The Air plastic is extremely easy to get good distance from and the disc isn't squirrelly understable like a Cheetah or Leopard. The glide is good, but not the "7" claimed by the manufacturer. It holds lines very well, hyzer, gentle hyzer flip to dead straight, long gentle flat S, or big sweeping anhyzer with some fade at the end. I actually have to really try in order to get a bad throw out of this disc. I honestly think it is easier to throw well and farther than the Diamond and Jade that are marketed for beginners.

Everyone without a big arm would benefit from having one of these in the bag, and big arms just need to get a heavy one in Opto or Gold plastic.
