I currently bag an Opto Glimmer River, out-of-the-box this disc was fantastic for me - great in the woods, I could hyzer-flip it, or have it keep turning right - essentially functioned as a faster Mako3!

I will say that now as it has beaten-in, it has gotten more unusable for my arm speed - still great in the woods, or in a tailwind, but overall it is rather flippy now.

This would be a fantastic disc for a beginner!

This is THE BEST straight long distance FW disc on the market hands down. Nothing compares to this.

I have an Opto max weight and a new Hand Eye Opto Glimmer max weight, and they both are stupid long and straight. I always used to use a Maul for this type of shot, but now that I'm throwing farther with less effort, I needed something straighter in my bag for this slot. And it's just phenomenal!

The Opto is like 7/7/-1/1, while the Opto Glimmer is 7/7/-.25/1.5

Not much to say here, just read my review on the Maul and it's exactly the same, except straighter, haha. It is SO easy to get stupid distance with this disc on powered down shots where accuracy is more important. Because the 7 glide just keeps it flying and flying and flying. The only real difference between the two plastics is the stability. The Opto has a slight turn out right, then glides forever out there (about 5' right of center), then near the end starts gently turning back to the middle and lands dead center. The net result, one of the straightest shots you'll ever see at this speed of a disc. Put some power on it, and a bit of hyzer and it's your lazer beam tight wood hole hyzer flip disc. Flips up to flat, glides forever, then lands basically dead straight.

The Opto Glimmer does the same, just a touch more stability and slightly better in the wind (but I would never use this in a headwind or medium to high wind. Just saying it fights a bit of wind better). It doesn't have much turn, maybe when thrown flat and hard, it turns a tiny bit. Otherwise it just goes right where you throw it. And then it has a touch more fade at the end then the Opto. It ends up maybe 5' more left then the Opto.

Both are SUCH easy to throw discs, and should be in everyone's bag, unless you throw 400-500'. It's the easiest disc to get straight distance with and feels like you're cheating. Can't recommend this enough for your straight long FW slot. Or anyone looking for an easy to throw, straight, long disc.
