Love the predictability of this flight path, not quite fast enough to make it do what it's intended to do yet, but for my arm speed, it gets the job done on the local course

Summary: If you weren't the beginner that got a Destroyer, than you probably had the Blizzard Boss. It's what a power thrower dreams of, and the feel you'd want from a designated bomber disc.

Feel: Blizzard Champion feels exactly like Champion, all the same durability and grip with more ease from the lighter weight. The feel is quite comfortable for a 13 speed, being shorter with less dome makes it feel like an in between of a 12 and 13 speed.

Flight: It flies like every other overstable distance driver unless you have about 400 feet of power. I was throwing mine when I shouldn't have and it was the most overstable disc that I thought existed. As I've started to get a better form and throw together, it's become more of what it should be. It is the Destroyer with even more potential.

I've thrown 4 bosses over my career, a super light blizzard when I first started, a Pro and GStar when I could barely get 9 speeds to turn, and a 145 R-Pro boss currently.

The Blizzard champ one is suprisingly beginner friendly, flies really far for a beginner due to its light weight.

The Pro waqs pretty flat, taught me forehands and was a pretty consistent overstable disc, still not very beginner friendly though

The GStar had a crazy dome to it, making it horrible for forehands. Backhands were pretty solid with it though, god no flip but it held suprisingly straight for an underpowered 13 speed.

Currently my 145g R-Pro is the flippiest thing ive seen, but it has use. I can throw crazy rollers, or just mess around and max crush it into the wind. I've been working on throwing a crazy grenade flip-up and it actually works decently. Probably pretty beginner friendly, but I wouldn't call myself a beginner anymore.

This disc is absolutely amazing. I have it in a blizzard plastic and in a champion plastic. They are over stable enough to hold a solid line in the wind and still reach 300-400 feet for me throwing with a forehand. It feels amazing in the hand and holds a straight line with a reliable fade at the end. I will never not have one in the bag from here on out

I picked this up just for fun. I knew with my lack of power it would likely just be a meat hook.... so I decided to get Blizzard plastic (158g) in hopes that the light weight would help balance the over stability and I could bomb it! However, it didn't really seem to matter. I couldn't get it out as far as heavier stable drivers I throw. I assume that after some beating in could get this thing out pretty far but out of the box I couldn't get it to perform. The plastic itself felt great and so maybe I will keep working with it and see what happens. I will update after I hit some trees and open up the flight path a little more.

I love the blizzard boss for my max distance shots. Works Good for forehands and backhands. You can also beat them in for bombs in tailwinds or rollers. Something like a more fast destroyer with more skip and if you can't handle the power required for it you can use it for utility shots.

So I think this mold seems like a less consistent destroyer in most plastics. But in blizzard or pro plastic it feels like a less consistent destroyer that bombs haha. Idk what it is about this disc in those plastics but I dig it. Wouldn't be my main driver but for when it's wide open out there I'd give it a whirl.

Very beefy it does well in the wind with a slow arm speed however I could turn it over in a headwind other than that it gives a nice flex and a full flight.

My brother-in-law got this in the lightweight Blizzard plastic and as a lightweight disc it works great but I think it is too overstable for a majority of beginners. As a more experienced player I enjoy throwing it for very specific shots. I don't typically throw this disc but from when I do I would recommend this for high arm speed intermediate-advanced players.

I found this in blizzard champion a few years back. It's definitely a bit tricky to use if you're a newer player, but mine has been beat in to where I can throw it pretty well. Personally, I don't love the blizzard champion plastic, but the disc itself flies well enough.

Distance Champion bomber! It can really flex out those bombs and has a reliable fade for that max distance. I have it in 167 Blizzard and it crushes FH. A beginner might find it too overstable because the thrower needs a decent arm speed and anhy angle control.

We own a 138g Blizzard plastic version.  Despite the light weight, it still doesn't have much glide.  This is not a beginner disc.  Westside Sorcerer, Innova Wraith, Prodigy D Model S, and Dynamic Discs Trespass are much better overstable beginner distance drivers (in order of preference).  All of these discs (except D Model S) will become more stable as your release speed improves.  If D Model S has high speed turn, I haven't seen it yet.  Boss is predictable and doesn't have tons of fade; however, I have not found a use for it yet.  I don't even throw it when I'm practicing.  As someone who is still a beginner, this is too much disc for me.  I will revise this review if I ever "grow" into this disc.

I use a low weight blizzard boss for max distances RHBH left shots. No matter how hard I throw it. It ends left. My arm speed is lower i stick to mostly 9 speeds but for a wide open shot 250+ and left i throw the boss. It always always fights back. If your average drive is 280-300 and you need a disc to finish left without losing distances try a low weight 140s blizzard boss

The Boss was my introduction to wide rim drivers and I am still working on throwing it.  This disc will travel straight for me for about 300 feet and then fade quickly left.  I am sure it will become my max distance driver shortly, but it takes some work to throw this thing correctly.  This disc is best used in the hands of advanced players.

Someone recommended this disc to me when I first started out and it was obviously a joke.  I didn't realize it at the time but I can tell you that this disc is wayyy too fast for beginners.  I don't think it's fair to leave them a bad review for that but I feel like it's neccessary to let the beginngers know.  Do not even think about getting anything outside of mid range when you are starting out.  There might be some control drivers that are ok but check to make sure that they are a slower disc.

Blizzard Boss (135g) - I bought this for my wife and she loves it. She has a pretty consistent anhyzer release (RHFH) that feels very natural for her and she utilities it to throw pretty good flex shots. I figured the Boss would give her some reliable consistency with a fade to the right and sure enough it has. She can usually get this out to 200ft or so, which is great considering she is new to the sport entirely. I would definitely recommend a superlight version of this disc for players who are starting to understand their form.

I found this Blizzard Boss on the course with no name on it. So, I've been playing with it for a week or so now and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite discs for forehand drives (as long as I'm not going directly into a headwind). Keep in mind the one I found is pretty beat in, so it does turn for me a bit more easily than if it were knew, but I do really enjoy this disc. May be interested in picking up a brand new one.

The Blizzard Boss in 154g has been a great driver for me, especially in tailwinds. I can throw it hard for a nice hyzer flip to slight hyzer and it rides a long way before fading back left very consistently. I can throw it on lower trajectories and get it to flare skip quite nicely as well. Throwing the Boss on huge anhyzer flex shots is one of my favorite throws. It gets huge distance for me as an intermediate-advanced player who normally averages 330 with most drivers. I have topped 400 with this disc and it landed exactly where I wanted it as well. Rim feels great, much like a Destroyer, but slightly wider and sharper in my opinion. The first ace I ever threw was on a 350ft valley crossing hole with a Star Boss on anhyzer flex. Sweeping long S-curve before it clanged the can on the post (old Smith Lake object course). Still the best feeling I've had in disc golf to this day!

I lost one and replaced it. I was throwing this disc before my form really should have been okay with it, and I never fully trusted it. If I accidentally put anhyzer on it, it would turn and never come back. If I threw it flat or with hyzer, it would just hold a hyzer to the ground. It is definitely very fast and very worth trying out if you can handle it.

Let me just begin by saying this isn't for low-power players, at least for consistent distance. The reason I give this disc a 5/5 rating is due to the fact that it is one of two Innova drivers that (at least for me) completely changed my forehand game. Before the Boss, I outright refused to go to a forehand for any drives, in any situation, but the Boss is comfortable enough in the hand and reliable enough that it will forgive you if you make minor mistakes. I always bag one now, and it's exclusively used for forehand shots off the tee.

The Blizzard Boss (157g) I tried was very unpredictable. It seemed to be greatly affected by wind, probably more so than in other plastics. This disc does go very far, but I struggled greatly with accuracy. This would make it better suited for open courses. The rim is very wide on this disc, and was not real comfortable in hand. I think there are better offerings of distance drivers out there that are more controllable and comfortable then th Boss.

I've owned 2 blizzard champ bosses and both of them were very different from each other.  One was 159G and the other was 147G.  The 159G one was a very stiff run of champion plastic.  This one was very domey as well.  As far are flight this was one of the most overstable blizzard bosses that I've ever thrown.  It was crazy for how light it was.  It would go so far one a hyzer line.  I can throw my destroyers out nice and flat and have them get out to about 380'-400' and this 159G boss would go darn close to that but on hyzer the whole way.  The 147G was a softer run of blizzard champion and that disc was great.  I could hyzer flip it right out of the box and get really good consistent distance with it.  Since it was so light it was not very reliable in the wind.  It also broke in very quickly due to all the air bubbles in the rim.  Overall the Boss is a really good mold from Innova.  The rim is definitely larger than a destroyer which made it slightly uncomfortable for me.  The boss is like a destroyer in the fact that you need to find which ones are best for you and then stock up on them.  I never really bagged the boss because I have destroyers and wraiths that fly similar.

I have this in 135 gram Blizzard plastic, so take that into account. I am capable of throwing this disc further than any disc that I own, but at that very low weight, it is a bit finnicky. I can throw it out in the 375-390 range and I typically max out around 350. It will still fade back in a headwind for me (not super strong; under 10 mph). I can flex this disc in no wind. Released flat with no wind it will go about 340' for me and will have a pretty strong fade. I think it is a great disc for someone with moderate power to own, because if you have a hole without a lot of trouble other than needing pure distance, it will definitely get you further down the fairway. I only wish I had the power to mash out a 170 gram star Boss, but I'll settle for what I can do. The blizzard plastic holds up ok.

Just like any other disc it will fly good with the correct form and speed, without that the disc will stall out early an can be very discouraging. The plastic is quite durable and holds up to hitting trees, Innova does make great products and do recommend this disc for an intermediate player and up.

My disc is in blizzard plastic at 150g. Slightly broken in initially, it was a great for long anhyzer flex shots (RHFH), particularly if thrown higher in a tailwind. Now that shot takes too much room to flex and can even be flippy. I release it now w/ a slight hyzer and it flips up nicely. It remains my longest flying disc (I carry a Crush and a Destiny as my other distance drivers) in the right conditions - with relatively little wind or in a tailwind. In those conditions, facing a long drive I'd feel like I was shorting myself without this disc in my bag.

13/5/-1/3 for both star and blizzard (though blizzard will show the -1 turn more because you throw it faster)

Get BLIZZARD for distance. It just keeps going and is forgiving of some form issues. As always, it is ALWAYS better to practice your form than to just buy a farther flying disc.

Get STAR for control. Forgiving for a speed 13, it is okay in the wind and shapable with minor angle changes.

This really is an amazing super far flying disc! If you are throwing 350-375 and can't quite break 400, this will get you there once it breaks in. I typically care 2 blizzards (different levels of ware) and 1 star (relatively new).

If you want to throw a high speed driver, but you don't quite have the arm speed yet, you really should try a Blizzard Boss. I picked one of these up back when my arm speed was really lacking and it gave me an immediate boost in distance off the tee. I also enjoyed using it as a forehand disc as well. My forehand distance has always been pretty week, so the blizzard plastic helped to compensate for that quite a bit. Fun disc to throw in a tailwind especially!

In the Blizzard plastic this disc is acceptable. I only use it on water holes because it floats, but overall it's a decent disc. Because of the light weight it can flip over easily but with enough hyzer it will stay straight for a long while.

This disc is fantastic! I have a 150g Blizzard Boss, light blue too. Anyways the grip of the blizzard boss is a solid grip, its a little wide for my hands. My hand doesn't hold it supremely comfortable. However well enough to have good throws with some good distance.

The stability of the Boss is very overstable, however with it being in blizzard plastic and considerably light than other plastics makes the boss much easier to throw. I have found that with good form I have been able to throw the boss to something very similar to the flight path provided by infinite. However there have been times that when my technique is off I have been able to turn the disc over. So its not a good throw in itself, as such I don't attribute that to the disc.

I have been able to throw the Blizzard Boss about the same distance as my other top throws, which is usually around 330+ feet. On these throws I have noticed that the Boss is fairly glidy, it will hover over the ground for some time before touching down. I think this is what helps make the Boss a great disc!

The shaping of this disc is really hard to do. In order for me to throw it to the right (RHBH) I have to change my throw considerable and really throw it as hard as I can, which contorts my throw and makes it worse. As such it is unpredictable, the Boss isn't meant to shaped. Hyzer lines are easy to hold and I have even been able to hyzer flip the Boss on occasion. For the most part I like the boss for its original flight path and the predictability of it.

Overall the Boss is a great disc and very reliable. It flies fairly straight with a slight turn to the right before it cuts back in and finishes the drive. I find that the Boss is a very glidy disc helping it to be a favorable disc. It performs well in a headwind, and decent with a tailwind. Its a solid disc.

I have a Blizzard Champion Boss weighing in at 143g. This thing just goes! The only problem with this disc is it cannot handle wind at all! If there is any sort of wind on the course, I won't throw it. It is just too light. If the weather is calm, and I have a long distance shot, the Boss is my go to driver. I love this thing. It is super durable, and the rim fits well in my hand. I would not recommend this to beginners as you have to be able to put a good amount of speed on it to make it fly true to its ratings.

Over time, I have come to really love my 159g Blizzard Boss. I use it as my go to driver for distance when there isn't a headwind or tailwind.

When I first got this disc I got it because it was the world record distance disc and I thought I would be throwing this for my longest throws ever when I got better. It was more overstable than I expected when I first got it, but I had only been playing for 4 months or so at the time, so that isn't surprising now looking back. I have gotten better since then, and it still isn't the farthest flying disc in my bag, but it's definitely the second farthest flying disc I have and also the farthest flying reliably overstable disc in my bag. My farthest flying disc is my 168g Star Vulcan which I use for pure distance when there isn't any wind at all. I threw my Vulcan 475' once without any wind affecting it. My boss hasn't been thrown more than about 460' but that's only because it isn't flippy enough for me for pure distance like my Vulcan. I also live at 6,400' of altitude in Colorado so all of my discs are more overstable. I usually throw my boss 400-430' on a good drive. On a good drive released about flat, my boss will turn nicely but not too much and it will always flex out and finish on a solid fade. The disc is very versatile for me because I can still throw it for long hyzers as long as there is no headwind. The only problem with this disc is that the light weight doesn't allow the disc to be trusted in the wind. I use a 175g Star Wraith when there is some wind because it flies very similar to my boss but the heavier weight allows it to be trusted in some wind. There is one type of wind that allows the boss to be thrown extremely far. In a strong left to right crosswind for a RHBH thrower, this disc can be thrown insane distances as is done in distance competitions. After all, it is the world record distance disc.

Update: I don't use my boss for go to drives anymore because I tried the Star Destroyer and it goes significantly further and is actually more overstable as well. The main reason the destroyer goes further is because there is much more dome and it isn't too fast to maintain glide at altitude. The boss I have is much flatter than my destroyer and is too fast to maintain glide at altitude. Maybe a more overstable Blizzard Boss at a lower altitude would be good for me now.

I got my Blizzard Champion Boss in 152 g.

I've been trying to throw this disc for nearly a year now and I still can't use it.

I really do not understand how a disc with these numbers (13.5.-1.3) can turn and burn on almost every throw (RHBH).

At this point I pull the disc out only on rare accasions where it is a wide open drive. I keep hoping to see something close to a flat flight, but for me, this one takes off right and never comes back.

I have had a couple of occasions where I was able to get enought hyser on it, so that it flew slightly right and finished nicely left. When that happens the disc is incredibly long! But mostly it's just a turn and burn experience with this disc.

Based on my experience, I couldn't recomend this disc..... But I'll keep trying to get something out of it ;-)

Owned a few Bosses before but the Blizzard is a special disc!  Traded a friend for a 150 Blizz Boss and it could be one of the most fun discs I've ever owned.  Absolute bomber of a disc!  I was always weary of Blizzard and other air discs, as I didnt think they could handle the power throws.  I was completely blown away with just how far the Blizz Boss travels and even more impressed with how much fade comes on at the end.  I can get this to turn out to the right (RHBH), travel for what seems like a mile, and come crashing back predictably at the end.  I would strongly recommend this disc for players with some power looking to get some extra distance.

Found a broken in yellow blizzard Boss a year ago in the middle of some woods. The only name on it was David Wiggins, so I decided to give it a shot. It floats, so to the best of my knowledge mine was a 139 gram. I absolutely loved this disc in this plastic and weight. I have no business throwing a Boss in any other type of plastic or weight. This Boss was pretty beginner friendly. I'd give it to first timers to get a feel for the game without killing their arms. My beloved boss did it all. Long drives with a solid fade (though not quite a 3 in my experience), nasty skips, and controlled flicks. I just lost it yesterday but it was about time to get another anyway. It taught me the finer points of angle of release and form. The only negative it had was being near useless in a headwind, but at a whopping 139 grams and in blizzard plastic, what else can you expect? When thrown correctly into a tailwind, this chunk of plastic just soared beautifully. Time for me to pick up another one and enjoy breaking it in all over again.

My go-to max distance driver. If it's good enough for Simon Lizzote, that's all I need to know. Now, just to clarify, I'm nowhere near his league. Having said that, the Blizzard Boss is very experienced player friendly. Good introductory disc for speed 13 drivers. My favorite max distance driver for BH and FH. Never disappoints.

The Blizzard Boss is what introduced me to maximum disc golf distance when blizzard technology first came out. Since then, I have always suggested the blizzard boss when a player is seeking advice for a first time long distance driver. It is very fast, but the blizzard technology makes it much easier to throw with the lighter weights.

Although a great introduction to distance, I would warn throwers as to the consistency of the plastic. Since Blizzard plastic gets down to weights as low as 129g, there can be 2 completely different Blizzard Bosses in terms of flight characteristics. I've seen a 13 year old girl crush a 132g blizzard boss over 200 ft., And there are also 156g Blizzard Bosses that are perfect for players such as Paul McBeth while playing in the Japan Open. Make sure you know what you are buying, as you may end up with a Blizzard Boss that is not suitable for you. As a rough guide, the lower weights will generally be more understable.

This is a fast stable driver that can handle full power throws and moderate headwinds. Advanced players and sidearm throwers will appreciate the dependable stability. The Boss has a slight high speed turn to help maximize distance with a predictable fade. The Champion Boss flight numbers have been updated to better reflect the more stable flight at 13,5,0,3.

I'll have to revisit my review, but as of now I don't have the consistent arm speed to take advantage of the speed of the disc. When I get it right, though, I have some of the furthest drives I've ever had.

My Blizzard boss is my go to for long forehand shots. I find that with a backhand shot I have to finnesse it a bit and not give it too much. But for my style of throwing it's the perfect forehand disc for long distances.

Great disc. More understand then what the rating suggest. I would say this may do to the specific plastic or the fact that they weight a significant amount less then their champion counter parts. It will hold a line, turn for a little bit and then have a nice fade. The disc is really durable aswell. My brother will throw it frequently to hit gaps, missing sometimes and hitting trees, but this disc does not show it. Something about these Bosses just being bosses and taking the hits. Great disc for those that have been playing for a while and have the technique to throw max speed drivers, but want a disc they can really rip-in-to.

The Blizzard Boss. I have been throwing this disc for three seasons now and it has never left my bag. I can get good distance on long hyzer holes where I need both- distance and fade. I can throw this blizzard but not the regular Champion version. My throws in Champion hyzer out far too quick for me. I wish I could pull like Simon Lizzote.- but then I am not he, but yet I am...Simon that is.

The Blizzard Boss was one of my first high speed drivers and the first Blizzard disc that I owned. As a newer disc golfer, this disc was very unpredictable for me. I had occasional throws that went really far, but a larger number that didn't go anywhere near where I was trying to throw. Even at the lighter weight, this disc was too Overstable for my backhand as a new player. While this disc didn't work that well for me, I've played with several players that can flat out bomb the Blizzard Boss. It's not a coincidence that this disc holds the big distance records from both Wiggins and Lizotte.

The Blizzard Boss is my go to max distance driver. Even though I am new to the game I can get long winding S-shots out of a big anhyzer. It isn't too overstable than I can't shape it, even though it is a speed 13. My only criticism of this disc is that I can't get any useful forehand shots out of it. I can throw most of my other discs forehand but when I try the Boss it turns over immediatly and I get a worthless perpendicular roll.

Still a must bag disc for me though.

My favorite go to driver in any condition. No matter what the weather how windy or how wet, this is my work horse. Stable enough for me to put it on an anhyzer and be able to S and come back. Not stable enough to be a huge meat hook. Throw it flat and it can consistently get the job done. Versatile enough to handle any throw you put on it. I would recommend this disc to any one who has the arm. I throw anywhere from 350 to 400 consistently and this baby does everything i tell it to. If you can't throw 300 yet this is probably too much disc for you right now. I throw it in blizzard around 159g don't have the muscle to throw the max weight champion just yet.

So it's been a few months since I wrote my first review on the Boss and I thought I'd update it as I've been working a lot on my form. I've probably added about 50 to 75 feet to my drives and I'm getting enough snap now that discs are starting to fly a lot differently. Initially my boss was a straight flyer with a nice strong fade at the end. Due to the lightness of the disc I was able more distance out of my throws which I liked. However since I've developed more snap in my release this is my go to disc for a hyzer flip. I can flip my boss into holding a right hand turn (I'm RHBH) but it's still overstable enough to gently hook back with the end of flight fade. This is an extremely helpful shot for me since I've been getting more snap a lot of my understable disc stay right and do not come back left unless thrown at an extreme hyzer. Anyways while I don't find myself reaching for my boss quite as much as I used to it's still one of my go discs for max D(when there is enough room to allow for the right to left play of my throw) or precision S Curve shots in which I can count on the right to left play of the disc. I think one of these days I might try to pick one up in Champion or Star and a heavier weight to see if it throws different. In the meantime my current Boss definitely has a well earned spot in my bag.

The Boss is a great disc, definitely one of my personal faves. This was probably the first Speed 13 driver that I ever threw. I would definitely recommend it for a first high speed driver due as it's more forgiving than most high speed drivers and very consistent. Currently I throw a 158 in Blizzard plastic. For a long time it was my primary distance driver, at least until I got my Katana. I still used the Boss over the Katana on any holes I need more distance or want a harder fade.

I found a 136 David wiggins Blizzard Boss used for a song wasn't even dinged. I have used it for all shots in practice to see what it will and won't do. Love it for sidearm, my release needs more consistency but when thrown right it out drives my destroyer. Don't love it backhand, but that's the shot I struggle with most, usually use midranges for that 250 and in. As for overheads it's quite solid, the light weight makes it easy to throw it over something with distance. I like that about it. Haven't mastered this trick, but at times I can get it to glide after the barrel roll like an Epic. I don't know if I will even abandon my Ape got overheads but this is the first disc to hit those distances. I'd buy one if you have a shot you can use it for, but not if your just hoping to add distance. It's a good disc but not magical.

First time with a Boss was in a tournament into the wind - thank goodness! Flew nice and straight and I avoided the OB unlike my first round on the same hole. Over time, my DX Boss has gotten broken in and still maintains its distance. Picked up a Blizzard not long ago too.
