I used to bag a Boss for long shots that needed a hard fade at the end, but it was too overstable for my arm speed. This thing was an absolute meathook. I ended up switching to a Star TeeRex which I still throw but I'm considering breaking out my Boss again now that my arm speed is up.

Like any noob, I saw that the Boss had the world record distance so I went out and bought one.  I learned very quickly that if you cant get 200 feet out of a Leopard, you wont get 200 feet out of a Boss.  Now that my throwing arm has become stronger, my 175g Champ Dye flies for me exactly like the chart says it should, especially against the wind.  I have 400'+ forehand power, and tend to flip anything other than the beefiest discs, because of the torque i put into the spin, but this particular Boss is just right for my RHFH distance drives at my windy home park.  The star version still hooks too hard and comes up short (which makes it better for getting around obstacles).  The pro and blizzard versions flip and turn too much for me to rely on (which lend them better to downwind drives).  This champ plastic seemed to break in with an average number of ground and tree hits, relative to other discs.  The champ plastic provides good grip and durability.  The see-thru nature of the plastic lends this disc well to night flights with an LED taped under it.  It has a wide, flat rim, comfortable enough for average size hands, and just enough dome for good glide without leaving it susceptible to high wind.  Because of its reliable fade, it lends itself well to hyzer bombs, skips, and other trick shots that utilize the prevailing side winds.   I do not use it for any kind of drives or approach shots under 350' because, of course, it tends to sail, skip, or sometimes roll away if/when all I need for it to do is stop.

This disc is super fast and good for distance driving. It has a great skip and at my course in town it is known for acing. Two of my friends have aced with their bosses and that's a lot cause I don't have many friends;). If you're just starting disc golf I wouldn't recommend this disc for beginners because it is super fast and sorta hard to throw. But this disc is great for S curves and perfect for curving around trees.

I have always had a champion boss in my bag. Brand new, these things hook pretty hard, but once you break it in a little and get the hang of it, this thing flies! This was the disc that i got my first ace on. You can throw it flat, and it will slowly cut, then crash down, and skip for about 20 feet! This is a great disc for backhand or forehand.

I have had the champion boss for about one year now and it is still in good shape. No chips or scratches, the plastic is great. I love the disc I use it almost on every hole, it's a perfect sidearm and backhand disc. I can throw it far about 300 feet occasionally, and I like the way you get that extra 20-30 feet out of the throw from the way the disc skips off the ground at the end of the throw.

must have. i used to use this as my go to. but it is very overstable so now i use it so those crazy s paths in the woods or a smooth big hyzer line. its a great disc and expect a wicked skip so play it about 20-30ft short. this is obviousely not a beginner disc.. an overstable speed 13. but maybe in a lighter weight it would be a good disc for a beginner to learn how power can keep an overstable disc hold a straight line for the beginning of the flight. i only throw max weights so this disc would be hard for someone starting out for sure.
