Everybody loves the destroyer for its reliability and trustworthiness for tough shots that you might encounter on a course. I only dock half of a point because I believe that there are better versions of this disc. Regardless, it is the OG distance driver, and will be a staple in my bag for many years to come.

I bag a heavy champion destroyer and use it for most of my forhand flexshot that are too long for my mids or fairways. It is also a great disc for fighting winds on your distance drives. The destroyer has good speed and reliable fade at the end. I also have a 139g blizzard destroyer and it dose not work very well on forhand or in winds but for calm or tailwind backhand distance drives it is great.

Summary: You know what it does, you've probably tried it.

Feel: Champion plastic is greatly durable and has great grip. The usual problem arises though, like with all companies and all plastics, there are going to be differences based on uncontrollable factors. Mine came out very flat compared to others that I have seen. The feel of the rim though, for me, is the maximum width of comfortable for me and maybe for you.

Flight: With mine being flat as it is, mixed with the firmness and lack of forgiveness of Champion plastic, mine was an absolut meat hook. It got less flight out of it than my Star Wraith, even when thrown the most similar that I could.

I said it's not beginner friendly, but it really depends on which one you get. I've thrown a couple champion destroyers, and stability between the two is fairly different. I've also thrown gstar and pro, and those were both similar in stability. They were less stable than both champion destroyers. That said, these discs are super reliable! I bag two of them and they're my go to for stable to overstable drives. Pretty comparable to an emperor. I use them for backhand drives.

BEGINNERS DO NOT BUY! NOT FOR YOU!

Now that I've said that, this driver is fantastic. It glides forever and has a nice consistent overstable finish. It's also the most forgiving driver I've ever thrown. That -1 manages to miraculously eat up every bad angle I put it on and I always have confidence when I reach for it. Great driver, classic for a reason!

I throw a 171g Champion Glow and OMG, I just love it to death! Great for forehand shots and distance shots with a reliable fade. If I were to lose it, I would spend hours looking for it. And of course it comes in about all the plastics that Innova makes.

I own a champion plastic Destroyer and it has been by far my best purchase for my disc golf game.  A friend had recently bought one hearing about its popularity and after throwing his I immediately bought one for myself.  It is a 12 speed driver, so its not great for true beginners or anyone learning the game, but once you've built up some solid form and arm speed, this is a great disc for learning how to drive long.  It has the ability to produce some turn in the flight if you throw it hard enough but it is also very reliable in its fade and stability.  It is my go to max distance driver and is for many professionals for good reason.

As a beginner this was a disc I thought was going to allow me to bomb in the distance department. Boy I was wrong. As I learned how to throw with better form this disc really hit its mark. Flight numbers are true with a consistent fade at the end. For my hand it fits perfectly both backhand and forehand.

Wow. The feel of the glow plastic is a bit sticker than the regular slick champion. I prefer it. I can really lay into this disc and it glides longer than any other disc I have with a nice fade at the end. Not too tight. I got thud at max weight and it's my go-to sidearm disc.

I will always have a champion destroyer in my bag it is very consistent.

I flex it for max distance my favorite disc backhand and sidearm.

I use it for shorter throws where i need a lot of skip and fade too, very very impressed there  is a reason pros throw drivers that are overstable and consistent like this here driver and not some for other crazy understable disc.

I love this just simply because it has a nice over stability and is very dependable along with the different varieties of plastics. The disc itself is quite interesting which is probably why allot of pros use it. One thing I really like about it, is how dependable it is. simply because no matter how hard you throw it, whether it be too hard or not hard enough, it's line is still very consistent along with its flight path as well. I've had used both star plastic and Champion plastic and I enjoy both very well. I've also had a variety of different weights and no matter the weight again it's flight path is very consistent and dependable. The group feels like just any ordinary drivers there's nothing special there. But I do like the destroyer overall and it is definitely my favorite over stable driver out of any I've tried.

I bought the MF (metal flake) champion plastic Destroyer. The only cooler sounding name for a disc than Star Destroyer is a MF Destroyer! I love this disc, super reliable with a perfect feel and grip in your hand. Definitely a goto for hyzer bombs; but works great for flex shots as well. The glide is perfect on this disc and I can see why its one of the most popular molds in the game.

I mean it's almost hard to write a review because it really is the perfect driver. There is a reason its a #1 seller. It has the perfect turn, perfect speed (with practice and proper arm speed/strength), and the right amount of turn. It sort of the most generic driver I can think of, and I mean that in the best possible way in the fact that there really isn't any suprises.

Its great for forehand and backhands!

Now I know the destroyer is an incredibly popular disc and each plastic and mold varies wildly. So I'll keep my review to my specific disc which is a standard stamp champion destroyer purchased about 2016-2017.  It's 170g and has a clear pink hue. My destroyer is very overstable and has barely any turn and only a bit under full power. It is a 12 speed disc and has a very heavy fade at the end.  I can see why its so popular, but it's not the best fit for me, but it might be for you.

One of the most thrown discs in the sport, it comes in several bundle packs and you can find it lost in the woods on almost any course. The destroyer is thrown by beginners and pros alike, which makes it a very useful disc to talk about as comparison to other discs!

This type of distance driver has become known as the 'standard' distance driver due to this nature. You can ind almost every brand creating a mold that is similar if not targeting the exact same flight path.

The reason I am not a huge fan of the Destroyer is that there has been different iterations of the disc since it has been around for so long. Depending on the year of the disc make, it can be quite different, so I'd recommend somewhat ignoring the flight numbers and just using the same Destroyer until you 'know it well'. They all have the flight path of a slight S-curve with a somewhat hard finish.

This disc has a similar rating as a Ballista. I have both the Ballista in Gold Line and the Destroyer in Champion. The two discs could not fly more differently. The Ballista gives me a nice subtle turn to the right and then ends strong to the left. The destroyer, thrown at the same speed (despite having a lower speed rating than Ballista) immediately wants to start hooking left and hyzering out. The only real use I get out of this disc is if I am throwing it into a 15 mph wind, and even then I have to give it some anhyzer. To get any type of real distance with it.

I think I'm going to give it another try but in the Gstar plastic to see if it's any better.

The destroyer has become Innova's most popular distance driver and I personally don't think it deserves the title. My gripes with the disc come down to two categories: Consistency and Overstability.

Consistency: Innova has been known to have a general inconsistency in it's discs over the years. To be fair, they are working with plastic which is not the most reliable material, but I wish I had seen them making strides to improve this problem like Latitude 64 has done. I think the Destroyer shows these inaccuracies the most. Countless videos has risen on YouTube showing varying rim shapes which drastically change the flight of the disc. If I lose my go to distance driver, I want to be able to buy another one that flies the same.

Overstability: The Destroyer is a very stable driver. I have even tried in in Blizzard plastic and find it to be very stable. I want my go to distance driver to be able to handle almost any shot I can throw. But the destroyer will almost always hook right at the end of the flight, no matter what you do. Sure the pros can do a lot with this disc, but I do not think this is the disc for the masses.

If you were looking at the destroyer I recommend instead trying an Enigma or an Orc instead, both are a lot more versatile.

A Disc For Your Bag Destroyer By Oscar Ball

My forehand drives were 50, 60 feet shorter before I picked up the Destroyer by Innova. This disc will fly and fly and fly. My flex shot with it is so clean and so nice then to tack on to the already awesome throw when it finally hits the ground it takes a monster skip ensuring yourself an extra 20 feet. 12 speed 5 glide -1 turn 3 fade. The speed is not outrageous so you don't have to go crazy trying to bomb it. It just happens. Amateurs and Pros alike throw it all with success. Personally I think chris Dietrich’s comment says it best “The Destroyer is the choice of an overwhelming number of top pros for precision control with maximum distance. It is easier to throw accurately at maximum power than any disc on the market.”

I've been playing 4 months and can throw a brick better than my Destroyer.

I have a good arm (I can throw a baseball almost 70mph) but it hasn't developed for disc golf yet.

If you're just starting out, avoid this disc at first. Go with something understable because a Destroyer will frustrate the bejesus out of you.

Beginners Review: The Destroyer has quickly become one of the "go-to" discs in my bag! It flies nice and straight when thrown normally; add a little power and this baby has a soft flip for some extra distance. I would suggest both the Champion and Star Destroyer's as the next disc to add to your bag (especially with the Infinite Disc Destroyer stamp!).

The Destroyer is the characteristic, defining distance driver.  It's overstable enough to hyzer, maneuverable enough to flip up without turning over, and solid enough to fight the wind.  It does take some power to throw well, which can be frustrating for a new player who wants to throw what McBeth does and can't get a Destroyer to fly right.  But in experienced hands, this is the disc to beat.

My 171g Champ destroyer is my go-to for hyzer drives, straight drives in the wind, and low skip shots.  It's also great at flex lines for distance.  It's overstability and fade are very reliable, especially with the durability of Champion plastic keeping it in form.  That plastic blend is very stiff in cold weather, but warms up to be flexible and satisfying to grip.  As a result, I found myself leaving it behind during the winter, but bagging it a lot more now that it's warmer.  The rim is not my favorite - a very sharp edge makes it uncomfortable for forehands and causes a lot of ground play.  It does make it go far and skip well, though.

Overall, the Destroyer absolutely lives up to its reputation and popularity.  It flies far and controls well.  Champion plastic is durable while being nicely grippy.  I would solidly recommend this disc and plastic type to any experienced player.  But who am I kidding - if you have the arm to get it up to speed, you probably already bag one.

I highly recommend picking up lower weight Champion Destroyers of you are having trouble with meaty stars.

The Destroyer is a five star disc in my opinion, but in Champion plastic it just doesn't work for me. The plastic type, as many of us know, has an enormous effect on the flight, feel, and stability of a disc. Champion is generally one of the most stable plastics. Throwing a Destroyer in this particular plastic, feels like no other Destroyer I have thrown.

I was new to the sport, and really liked my DX Destroyer. As it became too understable from beating in so quickly (due to the fact it was DX), I naturally turned to a Champion plastic Destroyer. I thought it would be the DX's counterpart, but would last longer. Obviously I was wrong. Now that I know more about disc golf, and how plastics can change the stability, I would never really choose a Champion Destroyer; always Star.

For me there are discs that just work better for me in certain plastics: Star Destroyer, Champion Roc3, Frost Havoc, Zero Hard Pure etc.

Backhand disc. This is the best friend of experienced players who have worked their ripgame up to speed 12. Release it flat and you get a nice, consistent turn to the left. Release it on an anhyzer and it goes for days before it begins it's inevitable fade. The fade is the reason this disc is so great. Even in strong winds you know what it is going to do. Release it with a hyzer and you'll never use another disc for hyzer bombs.

It can also be used to get some nice curved sidearm shots, but there are other discs I'd recommend over it for that purpose.

Just read the name that Innova gave this disc and that answers your question right there. This disc is great. I can bomb this thing and the flight is so predictable and does a variety of shot. I use it for turnovers, hyzers and can be thrown a little lighter and does a nice evenly spaced S curve. its a favorite among pros and a favorite among me lol. Im late in the game on getting this disc. Ive been playing for roughly ten years and just got this disc last year. its a very solid disc and I highly recommend it to anybody except a beginner given that its more over stable and is a speed 12.

One of my go-to Long-Range Driver that has a very consistent high-speed turn to a controllable, straight flight pattern & offers slow-speed stability with a predictable fading finish. It has incredible speed & amazing downrange glide that enables it to cover lots of ground for maximum distance. I recommend the Destroyer to players in all levels of competition.

I have a big stack of destroyers. All range from 165-175g. Most are champion, along with a few stars. If you cannot get this disc out to at least 400+ then you will not get the flight path shown above. If you can throw around 350, you'll most likely see your destroyer go straight and fade left. That is unless you put the disc on an anhyzer on release to shape a flex shot. I use the lighter weights for tailwinds and big anhyzer shots and the max weights for headwinds and shots that I dont want to turn right too hard.

    One of my favorite discs.

I carry 2 175 champion destroyers, one is beaten and one is fairly new.
My beaten in destroyer is on of my straightest flying discs. When released RHBH with a slight anny it pops flat and travels around 350-375 dead straight then fades reliably.
It is incredibly versatile with a stronger arm, and a great platform for newer players to move into higher speed drivers.

This is by far my favorite distance driver. I use a Champion Destroyer for Fore Hand max distance and Star Destroyers for Back Hand max distance. The rim of this disc is what makes is so awesome because it is so comfortable. If you have the muscle (over 400ft power) this is a must have disc. And this is also my first Ace disc!
