*I am writing this review specifically for a DX Destroyer*

This disc was surprisngly quite neutral to understable for me in DX plastic. It will hyzer flip to flat for me and when released flat it will turn over and give me a nice full "s" curve. I've tried a destroyer in star plastic and stopped throwing it pretty quickly because it was way too stable for me. The DX one I have is PERFECT.

Why do they even make this disc in DX plastic? The edge is too sharp in DX and will not hold up to any collisions. Spring for the durable plastic for this disc because it's meant to be thrown fast. If you can't throw it fast, get a different disc.

Star destroyers are great, DX's not so much. Straight out of the box my 165g DX Destroyer is so understable it crashes and burns after 250/300 feet then rolls around for negative yardage. Bought a DX destroyer to be a roller tho, so I cannot complain too much, just thought I would have to beat it in more to achieve this understability.

I got this disc in the Innova five disc start pack. It is one of my favorites. I can see were some feel that it is not for beginners and how other say it is. I know that it can get me where i need to be. Being a Beginner I would say this disc flies how it is supposed to and that it can add the extra distance that you other discs might not get just starting out. It took practice on my part to get in the 300-350ft range with this disc but it was worth it with a little more practice I know i can get farther. The DX plastic does get beat up very easy but the is part of the battle.

I'm not so sure beginners should generally be throwing Destroyers... But if you're going to, get yourself a DX in a lighter weight: 162-170ish.

If you take my advice, you might see the desired flight you're looking for: slight turn and then a hard fade at the end of the flight.

I found a Dx destroyer shortly after starting to play disc golf. At this time, it was far too much of a disc for me. However, after refining my form, and throwing it into many, many trees, I have increased my arm speed and beaten it in to a place where it is useful for me. As someone who can throw ~325-350, the beat in destroyer will give me a good S curve and reliably finish left (RHBH). DX plastic beats in pretty easily, which for me is a benefit. If you have a longer arm than me, or if you desire it to maintain its stability for a while, look into buying it in Star or Champ plastic. One benefit to this disc is that it is found anywhere that you can buy discs, which is a plus if you need to find a replacement. Would not recommend for a beginner, but is a useful disc for anyone that is intermediate and above.

I developed a good amount of respect for this disc after I bought 2 in the Champion plastic molds. It was my go to driver whenever I had to throw into a head wind. There are other drivers that I can throw further in low wind conditions, but this driver had an extremely consistent flight path in high wind scenarios. So it earned its place in my bag.

The perfect weather bomber in my bag is the Axiom Excite, I can get consistently 420ft on flat ground with it.  But when the wind picks up a little, it can get flippy and the flight path is less predictable. With my Champion Destroyer, I can consistently get 380ft of distance with a flight path that remains controllable and consistent in windy scenarios.

However, DO NOT GET THE DX PLASTIC DESTROYER!!! I bought a couple of them because they were cheap and I was going to use them on a course that has a lot of water so if I lost a couple, I would not mind. These DX Destroyers were so UNDERSTABLE that I could hyzer flip them into rollers. They flew like a disc with a negative 5 turn rating.

This disc flies very straight and very smoothly. Stronger arms will have a field day throwing this disc. The best part of the disc is that its line will be exactly where you release it. It stays on the line and does not fault one way or another. I throw it backhanded and my suggestion is that how it should be thrown.

I have a 157 weight of this disc. I have won several CTPs with this disc even against much higher skilled players.

It is currently my furthest flying disc in my bag. Compared to the heavier and same weight destroyers, wraiths or bosses discs I have my beat in(like really beat in) flies further than the rest.

I recently bought another of in DX plastic to start the break in process.

This disc was very frustrating to throw as a beginner.  I found myself turning it over and throwing unintentionally rollers.  I was convinced something was wrong with the disc and I didn't throw it again for about a year.  After watching lots of videos and practicing I discovered I was grip locking the crap out of it and wasn't getting the full flight out of this thing.  I just bought me a couple and man oh man was it worth waiting till I got better.  I can throw this beauty further than anything else.  Easy to hyzer flip for a seasoned player, yet I can still hold back and throw it on an anny line and watch it fade nicely at around 350 feet.  If you're just starting off I'd recommend waiting till you can throw pure hyzers and anhyzers and get the most out of this discs.

I love the disc itself, I only rated it three stars because the DX plastic doesn't work well with this disc.  When throwing this disc, you have to throw it almost as hard as you can to get to it fly well, so if you have a bad release and hit a tree, boom, this disc is like a Mamba now.   The disc itself is really a great disc for backhand and forehand shots, and is a great first distance driver for newer players.  The DX plastic seems to make it pretty understable even before it is worn down, which makes it even better for beginners.  The DX Destroyer was my main distance driver for a long time until it just hit so many trees until it turns over and rolls when throw with hyzer.  I bought a Star Destroyer afterwards which is great, and it's durability will hopefully not make it more understable than a Mamba after a month.   Overall, great disc, bad plastic.

So I got this in an Innova starter set as a gift. I knew the discs I got in there wouldn't be awesome (now that I know a little more, I know the three I got were excellent discs just in cheaper plastic) so my expectations were low. Sure enough I threw this disc for a while and hated it. I stopped throwing it altogether entirely. Fast forward to a few months later as my technique began to improve, and suddenly I LOVE this disc!! I can bomb this thing, backhand or forehand. It's so far the only disc that I am actively seeking out the same model just in better plastic because I came to love it so much. It's rim is really unique to my other distance drivers as well, combining comfort and power. Maybe not for beginners just starting out, but even just a little work on your throwing form and this can be an amazing disc for you!

I took out my *old* Destroyer, a midweight DX that was purchased at least 10 years ago.  I stopped throwing it because I couldn't control it. Over the years I've developed better technique and control, but haven't pulled this out to throw in several years.

I threw it alongside a number of other drivers to get an idea of how they compare. The discs included the Crank, D4, Wraith, Cannon, and a few others. The Destroyer went further than all of them by a notable margin. I dont' usually throw any disc past 400' FYI.

The DX is pretty beat in, and flies more like -2.5 turn and 2 fade.  None of the other discs were seasoned like this destroyer.  And more importantly, this disc seemed to get out there with a little less effort than the others. there's a reason this is the disc so many of us throw.

This is the best disc I've ever thrown. This is the destroyer in a nutshell. But on a more serious note this disc has it all consistency, speed, and the ability to teach people how to throw. When I first started playing disc golf this was the first disc I had, not because I bought it but because I found one from the dark ages in a stream. I tried to throw it and failed miserably. It became a thing I left at home knowing I could get twice the distance from a leopard. But after I started to get into disc golf I started testing the waters with it again, slowly I began to turn it over and slowly I began to gain distance. Along the way I found a blizzard champ destroyer and these discs were what made me drive well.

On a more recent note I carry 4 of these in my bag 2 DX, 1 Blizzard Champ and one star. I have found DX destroyers to be much more understable compared to any of their counterparts, and with the low price much more bearable if you don't like it. The star I have is absurdly overstable and the Blizzard Champion is light and easy to turn over (my max distance disc).

If you were wondering what happened to my first DX destroyer, I didn't beat it in much. It is for understable rollers.

I love this mold in DX plastic they leave your had the way they should and fly for me anyway exactly as they should. Very dependable but they do break in very fast and i will agree with the reviewer below and say that they will get eaten by a tree.

I have enjoyed throwing this disc however I can only throw this disc forehand. Being somewhat of a new guy still I sturggle to get it to speed. However when it is thorwn correctley it flys great. Overall I think it is a great disc.

I got a light weight destroyer and it is my best disc as long as the wind is not blowing.  Sometimes the more premium plastics make the disc a bit more overstable (fades to the left for right hand throwers).  I don't recommend this if you are playing around trees though, since DX plastic does dent easily.

The DX Destroyer was the fourth disc I ever bought because I didn't know any better. I was still under the impression that the speed rating was how fast it went, not how fast I had to throw it. So naturally, when I first started using it, it was too much disc for me as a beginner. I didnt have a lot of discs, so I would still throw it for certain lines, and it eventually started to beat in.

As it beat in it became my farthest disc (at the time) and taught me a lot about my game. Fast forward to now and this disc is really only a roller for me, in the state that it is in. The DX plastic beats in extremely quickly. Each step of the disc beating in filled a slot in my bag and I still used it as a roller for a very long time.

I think the DX Destroyer can be a good option if you are a newer player, with a decent arm-speed and you want to test the flight of a Destroyer before you invest in a more premium plastic (although keep in mind those plastics will generally be much more overstable depending on weight, especially Champion).

This disc is absolutely awful for beginners.  I purchased one when I first got into the sport so that my girlfriend and I could both play.  Unfortunately I didn't understand the numbers at the time and figured that the higher the number the further I could throw it.  It's hard for me to give it a fair review based on the fact that I was still new to the sport when I was attempting to throw it.

For beginners throwing this disc, it will be frustrating.  The fade is too much for you, the speed needed to get the disc to fly properly is just too much, the weights are all a little too much.  If you are having problems with this disc, switch to something a little lower in just about every number.

That being said, I've seen people throw Destroyers absolutely amazingly.  A lot of people like them.  They seem to be good discs for people that can throw hard and level.

Alright, so I've had the opportunity to throw this disc quite a bit, and I like it a lot. I don't feel that I have the arm strength yet to really throw this disc as it should be thrown, but it flies well. In higher plastics, it flies very straight a good distance before fading out pretty hard. In DX, I can get a reasonable S curve out of it, but the inconsistency of DX drive me away from such discs. All around, it's a really good mold.

I really enjoy this disc. I have a really easy time controlling it and it has a very predictable fade. It also works well when throwing controlled forehand shots and it always goes where I want it to. I have it in DX plastic and would really love to get my hands on this in Blizzard plastic. I would definitely give this disc a shot if you have the chance.

This is my go to disc. I have a DX, a blizzard champion, and a champion destroyer. I use this almost every single time I go to play. I used my blizzards for water but I needed a destroyer when its little bit more windy. The destroyer is a GREAT disc.
