This disc is a favorite of Prodigy's fans as an overstable approach disc. The A3 is beaded, and has a wide rim for an approach disc. This wide rim makes forehand releases clean and accurate.

    500 Details

500 Plastic was development over a considerable period of time to formulate a blend based upon player feedback. It has a stiffer, less gummy feel than 400 Plastic. The 500 blend provides an extremely confident grip on the firm, yet flexible flight plate. It also provides a very solid feeling rim.

My Flight Ratings: 4/4/0/3 Not Beginner Friendly Throwing Distance: 200 Straight Score: Very Overstable

This thing is straight beef! It's my go to approach disc for those 60-150ft upshots. The disc itself is extremely over stable and hard to beat in terms of diving to the basket last second to end with a tap-in. Its not overly versatile, in the fact that I have had mixed results driving with it on short holes. But, despite its lack of consistency on drives, it makes up for it in it's sheer dependability on upshots. I would like to add that prodigy 500 plastic may be my favorite in terms of durability. In spite of using this disc for the past 3 months it's still as overstable as the day I bought it! In summary, buy this disc for the approaches and durable plastic but don't expect to be shooting more than 200 on it.

This is the best complement to one of the best approach discs on the market the Prodigy A2. Very different in feel but the A3 flies considerably straighter while still being reliably overstable on approaches. The A3 has a blunt edge and is known for the whistle when thrown. If you're a fan of the Discraft Zone or Prodigy A2 pick up the A3 for a slightly straighter companion

I really wanted to like this approach disc because my friends do. However, the flashing on the dge made it painful to throw. I'm not sure if it should have been a factory second or if these discs need to be 'beat in' a little to throw nicely, but it's not for me. There were a few times I threw it and the flight was decent - straight until a good fade at the end, right under the basket - but the feel of the disc was a huge turn off.

This is the disc you've been looking for This disc is perfect. It will outdrive pretty much any competitor, Zone, Harp, Pig, reaching up to 350' on a real yeet. For bh it feels like a Pig and fh it feels like heaven. If you aren't impressed with them deep approach discs like zones, this is the disc you've been looking for.

    MEATHOOK!

Flies like a freaking brick. Glide? nah. turn of 0? lol yeah right. This thing flies low and hooks hard. For what I use it for, it is absolutely excellent. Great dogleg left hook disc or get-out-of-trouble meathook. You can absolutely RIP this thing and it will NOT turn over.

Beginners might find this disc difficult to use as anything other than a special use utility disc.

I'm reviewing the A3 primarily as a forehander, but I still dabble in the backhand world.

Um, wow this one really caught me by surprise...

I started with a 300 plastic, and it slowly worked it's way into my bag, eventually replacing both my pig and mortar. Brand new it won't turn over, but the flat top I have also has like 2 glide so it doesn't flare right too much either. Much like the pig and seems like it's faster even though the distance is about the same, with a slightly stronger fade.

I've got a 750 spectrum plastic A3, after the 300 had worked into a lazer beam, and this 750 is a little more overstable, but same exact feel, glide, and speed, so it pairs well with the 300.

However, the biggest surprise came from messing around in the field throwing thumbers... this thing carries as a thumber and the thin beaded rim is the most comfortable for thumbers I've tried. I get 250 pretty consistently on target throwing forehand, but I can average 300 throwing this on a thumber, with the same consistency on target. I don't know how it works like that but I've ended up throwing thumbers so much more now because of the A3.

It has opened up lines I never considered before. They sometime say that above the trees is the biggest fairway, and know I see why. Highly recommend this disc for the extreme utility nature of the disc, while still having so many uses outside of utility shots.

For me this disc is a slower Buzz but with more fade. I can use this disc for fore hand and back hand. I like to use this disc when im about 60-80 ft from the basket and need a lay up. It is super consistent and great for a lot of shots

This disc is beefy. Into a little headwind, and thrown with a little wobble, this disc will turn a few feet, but for the most part, this disc is pretty over stable, this 500 plastic feels great. Nice grip. I really like this disc specifically, compared to the other prodigy putters because the other prodigy putters are extremely sharp on the edges, and this one is not, so that's great. I love this thing, great for forehand flexes, haters, laser beams (if you throw it low because it's relatively over stable compared to almost all of the approach putters. I have a 174g disc mania Eagle McMahon signature series lux burst vapor tactic razorclaw, and this disc is more over stable than my Eagle McMahon signature series lux burst vapor tactic. My razorclaw is weird, it goes laser beam wobbles, but doesn't turn, then fades, whereas this thing the a3 it goes straight, and then has a somewhat extremely, reliably, overstable fade. Overall this disc is an extremely reliable over stable putter approach disc. Pick one up at infinite discs.com. This is a great one.
