This disc is a favorite of Prodigy's fans as an overstable approach disc. The A3 is beaded, and has a wide rim for an approach disc. This wide rim makes forehand releases clean and accurate.

My personal favorite approach disc. A little more OS than a typical zone which is more what I like in an approach disc. It's reliable in all conditions and fits great in the hand if you like a small bead.

The A3 is the best feeling approach disc I've used. As far as flight, it's pretty standard compared to other approach discs. It's very reliably overstable, but not uselessly overstable.

The profile is a bit more narrow than a zone. The bead on the rim might be off-putting for some people. I personally don't mind it. I feel like it fits pretty comfortably into a forehand grip and a backhand grip.

The A3 in 750 plastic pretty much never beats in. I've been throwing the same one pretty heavily for about two years and it's still plenty overstable.

The A3 was very similar to a zone or harp in flight, maybe a bit more overstable/ less glide, but a very different feel in the hand. You can reliably rip on the A3 and trust it to fight out of any angle and get to the ground where you expect. When thrown flat the A3 likes to hyzer out the whole time, but in contrast to the A2, it does not immediately dump to the ground but likes to hyzer the whole way. I found it to not be as glidey as the Distortion, but it had a similar flight based on the angles it holds and how it fights out of them, just finds the ground quicker. I believe the A3 is also the disc that has the whistle effect if you throw it well but I may be mixing it up with another of the Prodigy molds.

The A3 that I have is in the 750 plastic and is an A4 misprint. It is the best forehand approach disc and driver for anything under 250-275 ft that needs a reliable overstable finish.

I rarely ever throw this disc backhand, but is a must have for a forehand dominant player or also any player that needs a reliable overstable disc.

Where this disc really shines though, is in tough wooded spots or scrambles as I can bend it through tight gaps and trees. It is a bit touchy though for beginners and players who are not confident with their forehand angles so it may take some time to figure out. I would imagine that this disc would not hold the same level stability as the 750 and I personally prefer it to the Zone due to how many strokes this disc can save you while scrambling.

It is no wonder that Kevin Jones loves this A3 in the 750 plastic and it helped him win the Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship title.
