This disc is the perfect driving putter. With its understable rating, it's perfect for lower arm speeds to get a level shot that flies for a good distance. And if you are a more experienced player who can throw bombs, this disc responds well to a hyzer flip, and will give you maximum distance while not risking accuracy. My first ion was an electron ion, and while I eventually got to a point where my arm speed made it quite unruly, once I got it in proton plastic, the game changed for me. This has become my tight tunnel driving putter, as well as my close approach and putting putter. It's a very good utility putter that can do everything!

I throw proton soft 172g off the tee and for close approach shots, this disc is reliable straight flying with gentle fade at the end of flight making this a permanent go to in my bag for up shots to close for a midrange. Definitely recommend for beginners!

I got my hands on the ion in soft proton and I have to admit i like it. Not as a putting putter, but for off the tee. I usually like putters with as little bead as possible, but this one is a complete reversal. The ion has a very pronounced bead, but it surprisingly doesn't bother me as much as other beaded putters for some reason. Thrown on a slight hyzer, it will flip to flat, with tons of glide, then right as the disc really starts to slow down it just kinda remembers it should fade. The only reason I stripped a star from it and is not my go-to putter for diving/approach shots is that it feels so bad for sidearm.  Kinda why I prefer my envy as my approach/driving putter.

This is absolutely my favorite putter, and my putting success and accuracy improved almost immediately when I started using this. The soft, flexible plastic really sticks to the chains!

The MVP Ion in Proton Soft has become my go to putter for anything inside of 50ft. I tend to spin put more often then not and my accuracy jumped up significantly when I switched o the Ion.

Pros: A very controllable flight path, and a predictable fade at the finish.

Cons: the flexible nature of proton soft makes it poor as a driving putter. So i just carry an Electron Hard as well.

The ION really improved my putting game. Exactly what i was looking for! I was given a tip that all putter are pretty much the same with in the circle, so when picking a putter choose what is most comfortable for you. And the ion is super comfortable in my had.

Proton Soft is the way to get this disc, no doubt -- It is a great multipurpose putter that feels excellent in the hand, like most other MVPs. I have had instances where heavy weight versions of this disc tend to snap out of my hand in doing a forehand throw, leading to some uncomfortable blisters; It could have just been my throwing style, though once I got the lighter disc, at 169g, I was a much happier player.

This is the disc that started it all with MVP for me. Very consistant and a great looking plastic. This disc stays in the bag.

The Soft Proton Ion is the most important disc in my bag. Super versatile and there's no real one I want in my hand more when I have a tight shot that I need perfect execution with. The soft plastic sticks to the ground when it hits much like SS+ wizards and I've found them to be just as easy to throw with even more distance.

I nearly lost my favorite one and was really bummed out as I don't have a seasoned replacement. The MVP plastic is so strong that it takes a long time for it to wear in and once it's beaten in it stays that way for as long as I could hope. By sheer luck it got returned and I'll be picking up more so I don't have that again.

I have this disc in Proton soft, 169 grams. It is all around driving putter. Feels really good in the hand and comes out very smooth. Because the plastic is so soft it doesn't hurt my middle finger when I use more of a fan grip, whereas some of the stiffer plastics of other putter will rip the skin on the side on my finger. This disc will also travel really far for a putter on a sidearm. I give it some good hyzer angle on release and it pops up to flat and goes straight with no fade if you want it to, or it will come back a little at the end.

talk about an awesome disc. I just picked up this baby today in soft proton plastic 167 and talk about loving it. right after I picked it up I went to go play and on my first put I nearly hit chains and I was a good distance away. I then played the rest of the day and on almost every put I hit the chains! tis disc is a huge boost for me but the fade at the end is what made the discs not fly in. this has the exact same flight pattern as an aviar to me but it flies faster and farther and more smoother. if you want to improve you're putting game this is a must have
