The Ion is one of MVP’s high glide discs with just a small amount of overstable fade at the end of the flight. These characteristics make this a great long-range putter for disc golfers of all skill levels. This disc is available in each of MVP’s plastics, including their Eclipse plastic, which glows in the dark. It is also available in the soft Proton plastic.

-Reviewing in the electron firm plastic-

Very nice feeling putter in the hand. Has a substantial bead but is low profile enough for smaller hands. The firm plastic has a decent amount of grip. As far as the flight this putter has great glide for a beaded putter, and it flies quite straight. I couldn't get it working perfectly for my putts unfortunately, missing left or right often, but I live somewhere cool and wet so I think that the plastic may have been the reason. I wouldn't mind trying it in softer plastic eventually...

This is now my go to putter for putts. This disc is dead straight. The feel is great as well fits nicely in my hand. I was worried aobut the feel from the overmold but I feel no difference between that and regular discs. The firm plastic is the way to go. I like the feel of the electron. It is stiff but still has that little tacky feeling. Doesn't really slip out of your hand. It feels like a clean release after every throw. This  got disc Ialso has a tolot of glide as well. Putting circles edge or just outside circle 2 feels a little easier with this disc because I can still just put like normal and as long as I can get good spin and release it will just glide right to the basket.

I got to say I am starting to really like MVP/Axiom's line of discs. I used to only throw innova and discraft but I am starting to find more discs like the ion sneaking into my bag and staying there.

The ion is my current putter. I've tried a couple dozen others and I love the feel of the electron plastic and the flight of the ion. Just enough stability to fly like you (I) want. The Atom is close but just a hair too understable. The electron plastic is very grippy but also allows a nice clean release.

EDIT: Still feel the same as above, but I also now have Ions in Proton soft and eclipse. Not a fan of Proton soft plastic as it is very soft. Softer than Innova Gstar and similar to Discraft's FLX plastic. The Eclipse is awesome though, great approach disc. Flies super straight and will take little forehand shots that fly straight as well. I even putt with the Eclipse if my hands are dry. Otherwise, I still really like the electron plastic for putting.
