The Pro Beast delivers more grip than Champion with added glide, making it a favorite for controlled distance shots. The Innova Pro Beast beats in quicker for turnovers but maintains enough fade to return reliably on full-power drives.

    Pro Details

Innova Pro Line uses a special blend of plastics that provide unique qualities for each disc model. The different blends of Pro Line plastic produce discs with a wide range of rigidity from extremely soft to firm and stiff.

Pro plastic is more durable than DX, and provides a better grip than Champion Plastic. Discs in pro plastic tend to be slightly more understable than counterparts of the same mold in other premium plastic blends.

Very reliable! Picked this up when I first started playing, and it's been with me ever since. Love how it flies, and I can always count on it if I want a semi-straight shot.

This is my go to driver. The pro plastic feels like a softer star plastic and the price is fair. This follows any angle you put it on and carrys it well with a slight fade.

This review is mostly from my wife's perspective as she is the one who throws it for her main driver. She has decent distance and can usually get her drives past 200 and up to 250. Most drives she throws come out on hyzer release, and the Beast in pro plastic holds that line with her type of power. On slight hyzer flip ups, it rides up to flat and goes straight for most of it's flight. Thrown flat, it gets a bit of turn before fading out. I throw around 400 feet and the Beast in pro plastic is fairly unusable unless thrown on extreme hyzer. It feels great in the hand, grips really nicely in cold and hot temperatures, and has been surprisingly durable. It's been an awesome staple in the game for my wife to enjoy throwing more, so if you're arm is slower or you are a beginner, this one is great.

(175g) This was the first driver I ever owned. I thinks it's pretty beginner friendly however the 10 speed may be too much for most. I think this disc is best for the beginner who has started to find consistency in their throws and is looking for a little extra distance and stability. The reason I give this a 2.5 turn is because once you start to develop your form and throwing power this disc will begin to become more flippy so it'll teach you angle control and release.

    The Beast!

One of the first distance drivers I was ever introduced to and still one of my favorites. I specifically love this disc in Pro plastic in the 160g range. Pro plastic is not as durable as Gstar, Champ, or Star but IMO is still wayyy more durable than DX and also gives the added bonus of flying greater out of the box. This disc new will fly basically true to it's flight numbers.

nI like to season these into long turnover discs and they're awesome for right window drives on wooded layouts.

Whether you're just starting to work your way into higher speed discs or an experienced player looking for something you can work over on long turnovers, the beast is an awesome additional to any bag

Have a pro beast with a nice pop-top to it, and it is a bit more OS than the flight numbers would indicate, but overall a pretty solid disc anyway.

    175g Pro

This is a very beginner friendly disc in my opinion. It was the first driver I have ever owned. I have had this disc for almost a year and I have hit so many trees it has become more flippy for me, which is awesome for me. If I ever need a disc in the open that I know exactly where it will land I am reaching for this disc in my bag. I have used this discs for so many shots since I have been playing, long anhyzers, hyzer, straight, rollers you name it. I'm happy this was the first disc that I got to use because it really helped me realize what I like in my drives. If you need a stable driver that has some nice grip to it, I highly recommend a pro beast for you.

Great beginner driver!  We own 149g and 167g versions.  Both have good glide, but could have a little more even despite the light weights.  My 10-year-old son and his friend are the primary users of these two discs.  They get decent distance out of them (typically 225', with a good throw going about 250').  I don't get much more distance out of them.  However, Beast is predictable, consistent, and fun to throw.  It's great for beginners or when you need a driver, but don't need maximum distance.

I have recently gotten back into play disc golf after a 2 year hiatus. I needed a new driver and wanted something a little "flippier" than my destroyer. I tried the Beast. I was able to turn it over and have it fly a lot further than my destroyer. I use this disc to throw backhands when I need to pipe a straight one down the fairway. I also have found that I trust it to hold a hyzer and will use it for longer hyzers as well. I would recommend for anyone needing a straight flying driver.

The flight numbers on this disc are so accurate. I love to throw it on a hyzer, get it to flip up,turn slightly, then finish. The pro plastic on this disc also feels great.

I love my Beast for maximum backhand drives. I don't have the biggest distance, but my R-Pro Beast is my furthest flying disc for my backhand. I throw it fairly straight (sometimes a little turn at max power) with a reliable fade at the end. I love the feel and grip of the R-Pro plastic. The first disc I ever owned was a lightweight DX Beast, and I didn't like it at the time. I was inexperienced and couldn't get a good flight out of it. Since then, I have gotten much better with my form, so I decided to give the Beast another chance after reading lots of great reviews. I got a max weight (174-175g) and a more durable plastic. Now, I love my beast for the reasons I mentioned above. Overall, I wouldn't say this is a must have for beginners, because, in my experience, bad form and inexperience just doesn't go well when you throw a speed 10 disc. For beginners, I recommend starting with a fairway driver or midrange while you work on form and arm speed.

Like most older Innova designs, this disk is both good for beginners who have the power to throw it, and is very forgiving or errors. Most people won't be able to hit the speeds early on to make this disc do what it's supposed to, but it's always fun to try.

Most of the Beast discs I see in use are the ones purchased at WalMart or the like. They are either Pro plastic, or DX. I have never thrown the DX plastic, but the Pro discs while easy to beat up, feel amazing in the hands and are a great driver to try and see how far you can toss a disc.

At least in Pro plastic, I think the disc flies more straight than the numbers say it will. I have had two of these in Pro plastic, one at 170g and the other at 163g. They were both fairly comparable in the way they flew. There is a little bit of shift left to right, then right to left which represents the presence of some turn and fade, but I don't think it is a full-on 2 count both ways. It usually goes pretty much right where you aim.

The rim on the disc like most older designs is very comfortable. It fits pretty well in most people's hands, doesn't hurt when it ejects, gives you plenty to grip, and the disc has a very nice rim depth that just feels "right". Overall, this is one of my favorite discs to just hold and play with as it feels so great in the hands.

My go-to drivers for most courses are my Valkyrie (Star 175g) and my Beast (Pro 170g). I switch them out depending on the specific course I am playing, but just like the Valk, the Beast can be relied on for good straight flights where you want to keep it on the fairway. I only have a few courses around here where I can really open up with an 11+ speed driver, so these fill the role nicely.

This disc so super comfortable to throw! It reminds me of a softer star. When I put full power into this it goes very straight and has a predictable fade back. It allows me to get extra distance with the glide it provides.

This is a really great distance driver for multiple skill levels. I often recommend it to beginners as a "go-to" distance driver because it is very consistent and workable on different angles and shot shapes. It has a fair amount of turn and a noticeable fade which helps new players achieve extra distance while still feeling in control of the disc. The pro plastic also beats in nicely, gradually showing different flight characteristics but without the fear of losing a chunk of your disc when you hit a tree. For intermediate to advanced players it is a great choice to pull tight curves on wooded fairways or hold turnover lines if you put more power behind it.

I currently have 4 Beasts(1 Champ, 1 Pro, 2 DX) and the different plastics all fly differently. The Champion Beast flies with very little turn and fades pretty hard. The Pro Beast is flippy but manageable, great for shots where you need power but can't get a full run up. The DX Beasts are beat up and very flippy. When I play with people new to disc golf, I give them a DX Beast to because it is pretty easy for them to throw, it doesn't require great technique.

To start, I'm reviewing this disc in pro plastic, but technically I have it in Pro Dyed plastic and this thing just looks so cool when flying. That of course has nothing to do with how it performs, but, for me, I love it. My go-to hyzer-flip disc. I put about 25-30 degrees of hyzer on it and just watch this thing flip up and fly straight for days, before predictably taking a pretty hard fade at the end. I also use this disc a lot for slight turnover shots that I want to fade back left, and shots that I want to hold hyzer on the entire flight, but straighten out a bit mid flight. I can't really say enough good things about this disc. I will always have one in my bag though, that's for sure.

This is the disc that took my drives to the next level. Easy distance for beginners with the L mold beast. After years of playing it still remains my go-to driver. Powered up and hyzerflipped it bombs with higher speed drivers. Powered down it can fly like a fairway driver (teebird). I like this disc in star, champion, and pro plastic. In pro the beast really glides, but after a couple tree hits it becomes squirrelly. The pro I've most recently seen has been gummy, almost g-star flexy, not the stiff pro i prefer, and in the L mold.

Big fan of the Beast as a go to disc, almost more of a control driver for me. I have it in Pro and Star plastic in 171 and 168 grams. Very predictable and one of the discs that I can consistently throw RBH and LBH. Usually put this one about 300 to 330 ft. It will also work pretty good with a slight anhyzer angle.

Pro beast 166 gram. Slightly stable out of the box. Once beat in is a great hyzer flip disc for me. Hyzer flip flies straight for a ways then a gentle fade. Throw it high and flat for a nice big s curve. Couldn't get the five star rating to work.

Although beginners can through this disc quite well, it's also very versatile for more experienced players. With one of my favorite discs, I currently own a GStar Beast, I am able to manipulate the flight path towards the what hole i am playing on. If i need to get my disc to go to the right side of the hole, ( i am a rhbh), i am able to put the disc on an anhyzer line with ease. Great for any player that wants distance, accuracy and the ability to make their friends jealous at how much better you can throw your discs.

Go to power driver when it's a wide open shot. Own both Champion and Pro plastic. Fairly straight flight path with a medium to subtle fade at the end of its path. The Pro beast glides a little better, but the Champion fights wind and has a little more speed.

This is a great disc to have in the bag. I have a pro and a champion and use them both quite often. After beating in the pro beast the turn on the disc became amazing. I would rate it more of a 10/5/-3/1 after broken in. My campion flies mainly straight with a little turn and a little fade in the end just like it is rated. All and all a good disc and I recommend getting it in a couple different plastics.
