This was the very first disc I ever purchased for myself and its still in my bag today. I used to use it a lot until I got the Lat 64 Bolt. Its a good driver just pretty overstable and hard to throw very far. Nothing against the disc it is very good quality but the overstability of it isn't for me and I have stopped using it as much. Still a good disc to add to your collection.

If you are a beginner and you get a brand new champion plasic Beast, you'll likely think it's weird and just a big ole meathook.  To that, I say "keep throwing it often" get this sucker beat in asap.  You'll start to see that -2 come out to play, and when it does, you have a nice flight with solid distance.

I found one in a river without any name on it, cleaned it up took it home and let it sit with the other unused discs for about a year and a half.  Brought it out this year to a bomber course and gave it some really good rips, early in the year I tend to throw lower speeds until my arm gets warmed up (midwest winter layoff from the game woes).  This disc was a blast to throw.  I'm still weak but I can push this out to 300ft pretty effortlessly.  I think after I get back into throwing form this will easily get out to 350+ and i'm weak!

    Mine has fight numbers on it of 10 5 -2 2 but I think it's more of a -1.

Grab a used one of these that's already beat in and go have a blast.

Everybody raves how great this thing is backhand but gosh it's so good flick too. Primarily flick player who throws 400. This disc gives me the most 'gosh how did you do that I've never seen that' comments. Can throw full power flat and turn the whole way and go 350. But it won't flip to roll it just holds anny. So unique and solid.

Got this as a player's pack disc. It seems to fly similarly to my Shryke but with not as much tern, (maybe because it's still new) total bomber of a 10-speed. Doesn't take much effort to get it out to 350+

Pretty good overstable driver. I use this disc more for practice in a field than find a use in my bag since I find myself grabbing my Valkyrie since it flies a bit more consistently for me. Regardless still a good beginner disc to learn how to start getting more max distance throws with some more forgiving glide and turn.

Love this disc in champion plastic. So many people misrepresent what this disc can do, because they have only thrown it in a light weight base plastic. This disc is great for both backhand and forehand throws. One of my favorite forehand discs ever, with the perfect amount of turn and fade.

If you don't have enough arm speed to get a wraith to fly correctly (tbh most of us don't) grab a Beast in champ plastic and I think you will be pleased with your decision.

If you are looking for a great beginner disc for those moving from mids and putter to a little bit faster I would definitely suggest a beast. It seems to be the disc every beginner on earth throws and for some good reason. Very beginners will struggle to throw this disc, especially in champion plastic as it can be a bit overstable. There always seem to be beasts on the market so if you would like to get a couple to start moving up to drivers these are great. I find the beast to be pretty comfortable in the hand and easy to throw. If you are an intermediate or above player I would not typically suggest a beast. I have found there are better options when you do have a bigger arm. Forehand wise I don't mind the beast I usually just prefer a disc with more overstability, but for new players, this disc if fairly comfortable for a forehand and flys well.

I had a DX Beast as my very first disc. It was fantastic! The Champion plastic is definitely more overstable . I'm not sure if it is just my disc, but it rarely ever turns on its own. I usually have to throw it on a little anhyzer to get it to turn for those flip-up shots. The disc is a great introduction to distance drivers. I will always recommend it to anyone I meet.

The disc is usually something beginners pick up. i don't think it is a good or bad choice. opinions below.

Feel: this disc has a great feel to it. the rim is super smooth, a nice width, the top isn't too domey, but it also isn't flat. The speed 10 sized rim feels good for both forehand and backhands. I don't really like forehanding much over speed 11, so this disc fits that bill.

Flight: Contrary everything I've heard about this disc indicates that it is a nice flippy touch disc, that is great for woods, but also goes the distance. But, what I have found with my Beast is that it is actually quite stable. I have a feeling this disc is like the wraith in that the DX version is super flippy, but the other plastics are pretty beefy. This disc flies on the "basic line" as i like to call it. meaning it goes straight for 75% of its flight before fading out for the last 25%. I really like discs that fly on the "basic line" because I can power up on them, and throw them both forehand and backhand. This disc has enough stability for me to really rip it out there, it is my most sneaky distance disc.

Comparison: This disc is similar to a champ wraith, flight wise. Feel wise, the rim is kinda like a roadrunner, with the smooth sim that bulges out, as opposed to in like most drivers.

I understand all the love for the beast, but it was just something I could never get anything out of. Not great distance, didn't turn as much, was just a tad bit overstable, but not overstable enough to be all that useful. Had it in champion and have it in blizzard. Pretty much the same result with both.

I own 2 of these one in DX 160g & a Champ 172. The DX was great until i beat it in. Then it began to turn over way to easily. So i gave it to my 8 yr old who loves it. The champ version is the reason I'm giving it 5 stars. Even after it beat in it flies straight when I want and turns over when I need it to.

With the DX I got around 5 rounds with before I couldn't use it. Granted I live in the mountains & every course I played is fairly wooded.

This is my first year out after a 20 year hiatus. So I'm definitely a beginner without a big arm.

Back in the day I loved this driver. When I decided I wanted to get back into it, it was the first disc I bought. I lost it on my second trip out. I bought another one, but it's been shelved for a Mamba.

I cant get consistent throws with it and more often than not it lands in the one place I don't want it to. It's definitely a disc for a young arm.

This was the first driver I was able to make fly properly.

That being said it is very forgiving. One can flub a shot a bit and this disc will stay stable for you. It also works very well at helping show your line. One can really see how good or bad his swing is with this disc.

It is a perfect driver for your entire golf career. It will play well in your bag for years. Buy one!

Here's what I've learned over the past year using three different Beasts:

DX Plastic (150g): As you might expect, this one was extremely flippy. I tried to use it for a few weeks, but couldn't find any utility. I just use it as a dog disc now.

DX Plastic (175g): This was my first understable driver, and I learned so much from this disc. I started my career throwing only anhyzers with overstable discs, so the Beast taught me so much about throwing with hyzer angles. Super useful for shots in the woods too. I would heavily recommend this disc for beginners looking for a hyzer flip driver.

Champion Plastic (175g): I picked up a factory second after losing my DX, and this disc is amazing. I was initially frustrated with this disc because the champion plastic is WAY more overstable than the DX. However, as the disc beats in it has become an absolute glider. On a hyzer angle, this disc will glide to the right for miles before gently fading at the very end. I find that I can throw this disc just as far as my destroyer with even less effort. This disc would be a great glidey driver for any intermediate or advanced players.

I have a Champion Beast and it was the first disc I truly got that "snap" flyer with! Nothing like it, looked like it was going to coast for days for a moment. If you're somewhat new and coming from an Ultimate Frisbee background, this is a great driver to start honing your skills with. the speed 10 is nice when you don't quite have the arm strength yet for a Destroyer or so!

This was my very first distance driver. When I first got it, the Beast seemed fairly overstable but with very workable distance. Coming back to the Beast now, I find it has a fairly neutral flight brand new and understandable when beaten in. With several years under my belt, I would not use this as a primary backhand disc, but it does make a good forehand disc. Overall, I think that this is an excellent first distance driver for people who have good form but not a lot of power.

    175g Champion Beast

The Innova Beast is a stable-to-understable distance driver that can be used by players of many skill levels. When I was newer to the disc golf, the Beast became my workhorse driver that could handle just about any line. For beginners, the smaller rim can also provide a good introduction to distance drivers.

After the Beast became too flippy for my arm speed, it left my bag for a few years, then recently rejoined as my go-to roller disc. I've owned a Beast in both Champion and Star plastic, and they both feel great and fly true to the numbers.

I have a new champion beast and a found pro beast. The former is somewhat over stable at my arm speed, and the latter is beat in to the point of being a near auto-roller. This disc had an interestingly deep rim, and feels substantial in the hand. It seems like a surefire way to add distance to a beginner's shots, and later a useful hyper flip, turnover, and roller disc. Recommended!

The beast often gets written off as too overstable due to the many dx beasts that beginners throw, but in premium plastic the beast is a versatile driver. It is a great first distance driver that gets easy distance, and can be compared to a longer valkyrie or a shorter archon. The beast is a good next step after mastering fairway drivers, but is a great disc for a wide range of skill levels.

Beast has been my go-to Driver for over 17 years. Reliable S-turn forehand or backhand. I actually also love it for Thumbers too (which was my main throw for anything that wasn't putt or approach for years). Both my all time aces have been with a Beast (one was a thumber!!). Bagged this for years when I only played with 3 discs (D/M/P) and learned to hit nearly every line with it.

I have owned countless weights and plastics but my favorite is Champion at about 174g. While rated a speed 10 you dont need nearly all that power to get this going on a straight line. With enough power it will perform the most beautify S-turn I have seen out of any disc.

Can be put on most hyzer/anhyzer lines and hold them as well with some fade coming at the end. I use this with a bit of Anhyzer and power down to hit a snaking Right-then-Left fairway with ease - instead of pulling out an understable driver.

I love this disc in champion plastic!  This is the disc I generally play when throwing on a tight fairway or in a wooded area.  Its laser straight flight with a slight fade keeps you on the fairway and out of trouble.  Want to throw a hyzer flip?  Go for it!  This is the first disc where I was able to routinely throw a hyzer flip over 300 feet.  In fact, I can usually get it out there around 350 feet.  The only negative of this disc is that it doesn't go as well in the wind as some of my other distance drivers, but not enough of a negative to give anything less than 5 stars!

This is my main RHFH distance driver. Thrown at 7-12 ft off ground, I can easily push this disc past the 300' mark with minimal effort. On this line, the champion plastic slowly loses elevation, but hits the ground with considerable momentum. On most surfaces, this results in a long skipshot that breaks to the right. My longest drive has come with this also, at 480' (elevated tee).

Any player who is familiar with the Innova product has most definitely thrown a beast, and they hold their own against any other transitional fairway/distance driver, depending on where you draw the threshold. I have mine in champion plastic at 173 grams. This disc is a stable disc that players can get a good distance shot from and that should not be taken for granted. I've seen it used and used it myself for both long backhand and forehand shots and it has always been useful in any situation. On a hyzer angle, it flips up for me and flies a good way before finally fading softly without a huge skip that you may expect. On a flat or flex shot, it has a good bit of turn and finishes back straight, maybe a little on the understable side. Anhyzers get me the most distance on this disc, but they land a little more on the understable side (which is completely fine by me). This disc has a place in any intermediate or advanced players bag because they most likely fell in love with it as a beginner. It is a reliable disc with reliable finish that doesn't falter in headwinds, which makes it trusty and worth having.

This disc is great for turnover shots. I originally got this for flex shot but it is very picky especially in the wind.

I actually have two of these in my bag (DX and champion) because the are the only discs that can do the turnover shots that I need from time to time. The DX plastic seems to be a fair more flippy then the champion.

I find the beast to be one of the best beginner distance drivers that has ever been produced. The rim is comfortable in the hand. Distance comes very easily with this disc. Lower arm speeds will get a little turn out of this disc before it has a gentle fade. Higher arm speeds can use this for long turn overs and rollers.

I think the beast is an excellent edition to any beginner to intermediate player's bag.

Champ Beast (175g) - This is my favorite forehand disc. It is very forgiving to beginner forehands, especially in the more overstable and stiffer Champion plastic. I find that it will flex a bit with my power/torque and that very reliably finish a bit to the right. It has always felt good in my hand and given me great, straight forehand distance for my arm-speed.

This was my first favorite driver when I first started playing. I used only a champion plastic Beast because they are very durable and I was using this disc often. I did throw some DX plastic beast but they were all very flippy. For beginners without the arm speed it will seem somewhat over stable, but for a little faster arm speeds it is a great neutral flying disc. Great for shot shaping and full of glide. If you're looking for something similar and slower i would recommend a TL3

DISCLAIMER: No one's first disc should be a driver, and your first driver should be a Leopard.

The Beast is an excellent high speed distance driver for beginners. Once you have mastered your fairway driver and are looking to step up your distance game, you should use a beast.

That being said, the beast is an excellent disc for experience players as well. The disc is fairly understable, so you need to be able to control your shots. I've specifically owned this disc in champion and blizzard champion plastic. As most people know, blizzard champion is very understable. As a result I found the blizzard beast to be basically unusable. Nevertheless, the champion disc feels great in the hand and is super reliable. The beast can either be your distance driver or your anhyzer "go to." Either way it'll be one of your favorites.

    Disc: Orange Champion Beast

    Weight: 169

This was my first disc when entering the disc golf game. It's a very reliable disc that I keep going back to after experimenting with other brands. The champion plastic is probably my favorite, it really feels good coming out of your hand. This is probably my most thrown disc in my bag. It's very beginner friendly as I used this when I first got into the sport. Working more on your mechanics and form will help you get this disc to its full potential.

I'm able to throw a lot of different shots with the champion beast. The forehand and backhand are very reliable. I played Selah Ranch Lakeside in Talco, Texas this weekend and was able to hit a very tough forehand and backhand shots on hole 8 and 9 with the beast. Hole 9 was especially difficult. You have the option of a narrow straight shot or go way right to avoid the trees. With the beast I was able to put a very sharp hyzer off the tee pad and very cleany was able to put it in the middle of the fairway.

10/10 would recommend this disc to anyone.

I have a star Beast and a Champion Best and while the star mostly lives up to the flight numbers and feels okay; mostly just a little too domey to be comfortable- The Champion plastic Beast is much flatter and has a great hand feel and I really want to be able to rip on it but it's incredibly too stable in this plastic. I throw about 340 on a good toss and this just feels like a brand new destroyer in flight. It's not just me though, I gave it to my buddy who throws 400+ with Zues/Kongs and he couldn't get an ounce of turn out of it, still faded at the end too.

This is the go to driver for almost every new player I introduce to the sport. Even newer players can learn to flip up this disc after it gets a little beat in but its not so overstable that it teaches poor form.

This was the first distance driver that I got an s-curve on. I don't really know how, but this disc fights wind pretty well. I do believe its numbers are correct because on the right angle you can get a nice turn out of it, but it is incredibly versatile. It's also a pretty good FH disc! I would say if you feel like your arm can't handle a 10 speed, this would be a great first one.

I genuinely love this driver. Speed 10 is right in that sweet spot where the rim size is not too large to be uncomfortable, but not small enough to make a power grip awkward. You can throw some absolutely beautiful flex shots with this thing, and as it gets more seasoned, you can reliably rip it on hyzer and watch as it flips to flat and rides straight down the fairway. It's pretty much a faster Valkyrie, but no less comfortable in the hand.

I have thrown the Beast in a number of different plastics and weights, my favorite being a low 170s champion. This is the first distance driver I started throwing when I was finally ready. This will probably be a little to stable for beginners to start with. As the flight numbers suggest, you can get some great distance with s-curve shots, but this disc can still hold hyzers and can be worked into anhyzers. This is a great disc to wear in and have a few different ones in different stages. Overall, this is a great disc that I would suggest for those that are ready for their first jump into distance drivers.

The Beast is one of the first discs that taught me how to add power into a throw. If you want to work keeping your drives on a hyzer angle the best can show you the errors you're making. It isn't extremely stable so if you force it over out of the hand it will stay turned over. I learned how to hyzerflip and get a lot of distance via the turn this disc offers. Straight out of the box the Beast can be a pretty straight to stable driver. The 9 speed rim is just right to fit most hand sizes and the disc profile is usually in between flat/domey. As the Beast beats in you can expect it to start turning more and more, but this disc loves to stay in the air! If you give it the height the Beast can glide for days and get you some serious distance. I would recommend this disc to anyone that has been relying on faster discs to get their distance.

This disc has become my go to control driver. the turn lets it cut corners around trees, and the fade will plant it back in the fairway. Even thrown with less power, it will still turn a bit and fade consistently.

After playing for a few months with an Innova starter pack, I purchased some new discs with the Beast being one of them. Beast - Champion at 171g and I love it. Used for my distance drives it has great stability and flies very true. This disc has improved my driving distance by at least 50-75 feet. For someone who is trying to gain some better drives but doesn't quite have the arm speed, this disc is perfect.

I was lucky enough to find a un-named champion beast at my local course (Please put your name on your plastic) and it instantly became my farthest flying disc. The beast has a decent amount of turn for a intermediate arm and can really carry for a long ways. I am unsure of the exact weight of my disc but it was defiantly under max weight, which allowed for my growing arm speed to really let this disc fly. This disc is a must buy for intermediate and beginners that want to add distance to their game.

Bought my beast about six months ago, about the same time I also bought a Katana, and it's taken till now for me to review it. When I first bought this disc is was a straight flyer with very little turn and a very slow fade. Once it broke in, I could throw it with a good turn and still a very dependable fade, it was my go-to disc for throws around 300-320' and was very close to the ratings. Now it is very worn and has completely changed characteristics, I would now call it a 9/5/-4/1. I still use it, now as a standstill fairway driver and if I do anything more than a single step and throw, it turns into a roller.

My favorite driver in my bag, so many different types of throws can be used. I typically use this whenever I need to get straight distance on a fairway -which applies to many of the throws I need- and also for distance drivers when a destroyer is not necessary. I am an amateur thrower and I am able to throw this disc at hyzers, anhyzers, and turn over shots. My go-to driver out of the bag and I will continue to use this disc throughout all my playing. Love the slight overstableness of the championship plastic, but a DX plastic is great to wear in for understable throws as well.

A Champ 168g was my introduction to distance drivers.  Even with less than mediocre form I was able to get this a little further than my other discs while still keeping it in play.  As my skill progressed and form/speed advanced that disc has remained in my bag.  It is my "go-to" driver when I want to get it out there on an open hole.  I will throw multiple discs on open holes and I've tried to replace this disc with other understable distance drivers and the Beast reigns supreme.  If you play open courses often, then you should try this disc.

NOTE: My average throw with distance drivers is 325-350.  I have only tried the Champion plastic in this mold.

I got an underweight (166g) Champion Beast lately, and I have to say I'm puzzled. The thing flies a bit less stable than an Orc, but not any more understable than a Star SL. I definitely isn't flying its numbers, and while I don't have it broken all the way to the sweet-feeling spot yet, I think I have it far enough to say it's more stable than I expected (maybe because of the plastic). That said, though, the glide is still great, and this disc has solid distance potential for my arm speed. It also rolls pretty well, though it isn't as effortless or as long as my beloved Mamba. I mostly use this disc for hyzers that flatten out and for straight distance shots with a bit of room to work.

The Innova Beast is an old school cool disc that honestly is forgotten with all the new additions to the fast driver line up, faster isn't always better! The Beast has a comfortable rim with a smooth transitioning profile and feels like a fast fairway, it's grip is in the sweet spot and works great for backhand and forehand alike. My review subject is an odd ball. it is a 175g Jolly Launcher Beast from the factory store listed on infinite (man it is schweet) I have experience throwing dx Beasts as well as a buddy's regular run champ Beast.

The Beast is a really comfortable driver and because of that it immediately inspires confidence. When new they have quite a bit of stability and will hold power well if you have moderate arm speed. They will fly most lines you put them on and as they break in they start working their way into hyzer flip machines for easy distance similar to the Innova Valkyrie.  Don't let the rim size (or the speed number if you are one of those people) fool you this disc absolutely bombs if you have the arm speed to get it out there. As they work in the Beasts less stable nature makes it insanely good for rollers that go really far but holding a straight line before curling up. The Beast may not be your max distance disc as larger rim discs achieving similar flights have surpassed it in distance potential but the Beast allows you to main control over that distance.

The Beast when new can handle slight headwinds surprisingly well giving a more controlled flip (granted my jolly launcher beast is much more stable than a regular one it seems). The Beast really shines in a tailwind  once seasoned as this disc will fight to stay in the air marvelously.

The Beast is a pretty controllable disc but is likely too fast for beginners, I had a dx one early on that I liked but I realize now that I was in no way utilizing it to its fullest extent. I would say it makes a good first distance driver though when you crack the 300ft barrier with fairway drivers.

Overall the Beast is an excellent workhorse driver and very easy to control. With a comfortable rim and very versatile nature it easily warrants a 4/5 stars and might be a disc worth going back to check out if you haven't thrown one in awhile, plus the stamp looks cool.

    175g Champion Beast

I LOVE my Champion Beast! I have an ok arm, probably top out at around 450 ft. and throw more Destroyers than I should, but I have to say that the Beast was such a pleasant surprise when I finally decided to pick one up. I have been looking for a long S-cure flying disc and this was definitely it. When I throw it full power, if I keep it high, I am able to get a big S flight out of it. When I was starting out playing disc golf I loved throwing DX Valkyries. The reason was that it was the right speed for me to get a nice full flight out of it. A max weight Champion Beast reminds me of that now. I also love this disc for a low, straight, penetrating shot. I would highly recommend this disc, and I believe it to be good for all skill levels.

The Champion Beast was my first true distance driver. It taught me a lot about how discs fly, how arm speed affects flight, and stability. Nowadays my Beast is pretty beat. It's an old patent number version and it is an awesome turnover fairway driver and roller disc. Excellent mold that can find a place in bags of players of all skill levels.

To the beginner who wants to step up to a distance driver: Buy a DX Beast and beat it in or get one used, and pick up a Champ Beast too for an OS driver. The DX will teach you shot shaping and release angle, and when your arm gets stronger and your technique gets better step up to the Champ and you'll love it. This mold has taught me so much.

Nowadays I throw only Westside, with two exceptions: an Opto Stiletto and my trusty Champ Beast.

Brand new champion Beasts are pretty straight flyers for higher arm speeds, but will seem kind of overstable for slower arm speeds. They beat into really nice hyzer flip discs. I am a fan of drivers with narrower rims as opposed to the really wide rim of the high speed drivers. I don't have a beast in my bag anymore, but when I was just getting into disc golf it seemed like all of my buddies had a Beast in their bag, so I picked one up and loved it!

The Beast was a disc I had never considered, but found one and gave it a shot. The disc was great, it flew incredibly straight which was something I didn't have at the time with any other disc. The course I played on the most had a semi-tunnel shot (not like some of the crazy wooded courses, but not something that happens a lot in Idaho) so it was a great disc to throw on that hole at the time. I think it is one of those discs any beginner should end up trying, its very friendly and has the potential to teach a variety of shots

I have a champion beast 166g which was stable when I first got it, over the years it has become more understable and pulls off some ridiculous distance now, easily can drive 350' with it.  with some speed and a decent snap it gets a mean S curve going. I also like to throw it with slight hyzer, it will hyzer flip and will go super straight for a good 270-300ft and it comes handy on narrow lanes and wooded holes where you might need to dial up a tight flex line. when If I throw it RHFH for a long drive my snap is way to much for this disc and it will turn super left from the start and never recover. i do like to throw it with a split finger grip (one finger on the rim, other near the center) for finesse RHFH lay ups 150-200ft. I would say this is a good disc to grow into after you start throwing something like a leopard3 or sidewinder for awhile and now they turnover immediately from the release and  finish wide right based on a RHBH throw. Great Disc I keep 2 in my bag!

This was the first driver I purchased. It started out great but now that I have been playing for a little bit, I feel that the beast turns way to much. It might be a good forearm disc but I put back in my bag after experiencing so much turn and don't use it anymore. It is a 10 speed disc and I don't believe that I am throwing to hard for it to over correct either. If I were to buy it again, I would probably choose the max weight (175g) which could slightly help.

First disc I ever had. Bought it in the DX plastic and beat the crap out of it. Now have a Champion in my bag and it is without a doubt the straightest disc that I throw. No matter how bad i happen to throw it on any given hole, it will always keep a straight line with a minimal fade at the end. It never lands more than 10 feet to the left of where I want it to land. Can handle the wind and any gap you may need to hit. Once you get used to it you can sail it for over 400 feet. I often throw a Katana for longer open holes, then throw the Beast afterwards to compare and it has yet to come up shorter than the 13 speed Katana. Maybe I should wise up and start throwing the Beast first every time.

Bought a Blizzard Champion Beast and is too light (translated to out of the bag) to have same forgiveness the Champion plastic (normal weights) have. This was one of the first discs I used when transferring from Ultimate Frisbee to Disc Golf. I'd suggest for any beginners to start with a 170g - 175g Champion Beast and as you play more and more and want more distance out of your throws I might try going into the 160s and see how you like that. They don't handle as well in the wind but as long as there isn't too much of a current you should be fine and you can compare your distances to which feels better to throw distance.

When my company put up a disc golf course behind our office, a lot of the beginners I let borrow my Champion Beast and they preferred it to any of my more challenging discs. I still throw my original Champion Beast from time to time but since I've gained expertise, I've switched over to the Discraft Nuke SS since it gives me a much nicer S curve like you want with more distance.

But not every disc is the same for everyone. I definitely would say this is worth a try if you're looking for a consistent drive with your backhand.

Oh the Beast, from scary forehand disc when I couldn't throw through a wet paper bag, to long distance gun and pray disc, to a ridiculously predictable shot shaper. All the same disc, as I got one in Champ plastic early in my career, stupidly at max weight. Now it's one of the go to discs because of its straight flight and forgiving nature.

The Beast is just awesome, it should be a first 10+ speed driver for everyone as it won't punish a newer player like something overstable or inherently flippy. I throw a DX now for long right turns that come back, and the champ I've thrown forever which flies the same as when it was minted 10+ years ago. A great disc which will not blow anybody's mind, but likely won't leave a lower power player 100 feet off their mark wondering what the hell happened. Thrown hard it will anny a bit, run, then fade back. Thrown lightly it still holds straight before fading out. The fade is subtle but predictable.

Only reason for 4 stars is that the Valkyrie is even more predictable, and the Surge and Wraith have higher ceilings. The Beast is a fantastic disc though, it's just caught between two really fantastic discs in usability. It is a winner though, get one and enjoy!

I got this disc for my birthday.. 2 actually. one in champion, on in star. I throw right hand backhand and to me the fade on this disc was weird. the star and the champion were both beat in decently. I kept the chamion and gave the star to my dad. he throws right hand forhand and absolutely loved the star because of the amount of fade it has when it flies to the right. he's crazy for this disc. on the other hand im not to crazy about it! I threw both of them and I didn't really like them. it was to much fade and didn't really fly the way I wanted it to. im not a big fan but I still keep it in my bag because the fade has helped a few times. I thought this disc was deep in the woods on a bad drive but it flew right out to the middle. talk about being impressed about a disc you don't like that much. this isn't one of those must have discs but some people just love it. its all preference

This disc is my go to. I don't have the most developed arm, but if I need distance I tomahawk this puppy. It's got a narrow rounded lip that makes chucking an overhand throw relatively comfortable. If you buy this as an overhand disc be sure to get it in Champion plastic. The grip is solid, but it glides off of your fingertips. This is my staple disc.

I now have two Champion Beasts and one Star Beast. My champion beasts fly very straight with a dependable fade and feel extremely comfortable in the hand. My star beast has a little bit more high speed turn and glide than the champion plastic. This is very nice for playing the tight holes at DeLaveaga!

The Beast is a great disc for people of all levels. It's very versatile, and no matter what your skill level you can always get good distance off of it.

This is the disc that really taught me my RHFH throwing. It wasn't too fast or too stable for me starting off and it made sure to teach me form. I'd probably still be using that same 172g Champion Beast if it hadn't been claimed by a lake at one of my local courses. Love the beast and recommend it highly

It's difficult to expand on what's already been written because the Beast comes just as described. It has a subtle turn and a noticeable fade. A predictable disc for a lot of throwing styles, and good driver for beginners looking to go slightly beyond Speed 8-9. I carry two in my bag, one in DX and one in Champion. Both are 172g. I definitely recommend the Beast!

I have the Beast in champion plastic and it is my go to driver. I find that I can toss this disc extremely far with predicable curve. The speed, glide, and curve are all perfect for my form. The disc feels really good in my hand as well.

I have tried the Beast in every plastic that Innova makes. I now have a 172 Champion Beast and a 175 Star Beast. If you don't have a Beast, consider getting one. This disc is so controllable and feels great coming out of the hand. The flight is usually very straight, but it can also be thrown as a hyzer flip shot and still have amazing control. GO BEAST!

For those with big arms and good snap. My all time favorite disc. I only carry Barry Schultz champion beasts. I have a Shogun series disc that no one else has. Long drives to 400' +. If you don't have a beast...get one.

I love this disc. it turns right slightly as you release it and has a decent fade at the end to put it nearly straight out from where you throw it. I find that the difference from star, champion and dx plastic are very dramatic. the champion plastic is more overstable, the star is more stable and the dx is more understable. the speed of the beast is about as fast as I can handle, so perhaps for me it's not as understable as it would be for those with 'bigger arms' or 'better snap'. but this disc has a very reliable flight path, not to far righr, and a reliable fade, not too hard left..

One of the newer discs to my bag but growing to be one of the top choices. I had a 174 champion in blue that seemed to go super straight off the drive before I lost it in the water. So I changed to a neon yellow champion at 170 which seems to have more fade at the end but not so much that it's a pain with the RHBH throws. Sidearm this disc gives a nice S curve when thrown flat and doesn't need a lot of power to do so.

Significantly underrated disc; probably underrated since the pros don't really use them (except Barry). Excellent intermediate disc. Thrown on a hyzer with decent power, it will flip up and go far without a lot of effort, but will fade back consistently even in max weight. Thrown flat, it will have a healthy turn, and a decent fade. Slower and more controllable than a Wraith, but for weaker arms. Easily generates a great flex shot with less power. Not optimal in windy conditions.
