The Deputy is a new putt and approach disc from Dynamic Discs. This putter has a more shallow rim and understable flight path. You will find it to be a very straight-flying putter within the circle. The popular disc golfer Paige Pierce uses this for her close putts.

I have a prime burst Deputy that I originally got as a utility disc, to throw anhyzer for approaches that need to turn right (RHBH).

The disc does this perfectly, with a predictable but not exaggerated turn that it can hold all the way to the ground.

As I developed by forehand, I have been throwing the Deputy less and less for approaches, however it has become my primary putting putter, replacing the Aviar. I love it for putting since it is understable enough to go very straight, faster and glidier than an Aviar which helps me since a lot of my putts with other discs end up landing short.

I can hyzer-flip this for longer, straight approaches, but I tend to prefer the Proxy for such shots.

This is by far my favorite and most reliable disc in my bag. 99% of the time I use it for approaches or off the tee on shorter holes. It's a laser beam with sneaky long glide. You don't need to put much on it for it to sail.

Look no further. You have found your understable putter. It can handle an arm too. This thing will hyzerflip off the tee, handle angles on the approach, and it can catch the chains if you want to putt with it. It will be really helpful when you are off the fairway and need to chuck a big anzyer backhand forward.

I live in Colorado and thus tend to have many instances where I am putting or throwing up hill and thus bought this in the prime burst plastic. First off, this would be my highest rated plastic I have thrown. I am a beginner and have limited experience with multiple plastic types from different manufacturers but can't say enough for the grip and sturdiness of such a gummy feeling disc. I also find that the disc feels more dense than my other putters that claim to be around the same weight and this has caused me to go to this putter for heavy wind putts. Love it and don't see it leaving my bag unless I lose it somehow.

The deputy is an excellent disc. I have switched over to this from putting with Wardens for years. I find myself being able to get that extra bit of glide and straightness outside the circle that I didn't get with the Warden. The flight of the deputy is reliably understable in the prime plastic. Living in Colorado, discs tend to fly much more stable than at lower elevations, thus the need for understable discs in paramount. I use this for short upshots and shaping lines in the woods and it is excellent.

Love this disc.  Full disclosure, I'm a beginner with a world of other putters that I've never thrown.  I committed to Wizards for main putting putter and figured I'll just stick with that until I can develop a consistent form and evaluate different molds at that point.  However, the Wizard is just too bulky and overstable for me for anything too far outside of C1, and that's why I bagged the Deputy.

For deep C2 putts, long anny putts, or outside C2 step-thru/jump putts, the Deputy is the go-to.  Anything inside 80' feels like if I'm not chaining it, I'm hitting some metal or leaving it inside 15' for the clean-up. It feels like every few rounds I'm dropping one in from 50' with the Deputy.  I currently bag a Prime Burst and Classic Soft Burst.  I prefer the feel of the Prime generally, but use the Classic Soft when I want something to limit skids/roll-aways.

I haven't quite dialed in a full power turnover shot using it as a thrower, but that's a me problem.  Feels like it will be a great disc for that too with some more practice.

Need a putter that's going to stay straight as long as possible when you're putting from distance? Need a putter that's understable when you're throwing form distance? The Deputy is for you! I lost my first Deputy after it ricocheted off a tree in to a river. I only lasted about 1 week before I needed to replace it. This is my go-to disc for short holes in the woods with a dog leg right. I can trust it's going to fly right when thrown with some power and it will hold that line. Even light tosses with anhyzer and it will glide to the right without figting out of it. It's just a great utility disc that you can trust won't go too far.

I will say, I LOVE the feel of the prime plastic, but I would much rather have this disc in lucid or fuzion plastic for durability sake.

As far as putting goes, this is starting to put a qustion mark in my mind as to whether or not I should switch form my Judge to putting with the Deputy. It's that good! It has nothing to do with feel, as I couldn't care less if my putters have a bead or not, but I just feel like it holds that straight line better. Lately I've been putting with my Judge and almost every time I miss, and then try that same putt with my Deputy, it does straight in! I just can't tell if that's my body correcting the mistake, or the putter doing it for me. I guess the only way to find out is to try several rounds with it and see if my scores improve.

I tried this disc after getting it as part of the Trilogy Challenge player's pack. Previously I had used Classic Soft Judges as my putters and I found the Deputy to be a much better "outside the circle" putter. Where my Judges would begin to hyzer out early making me miss short/left, this disc just glides and glides giving me a much better shot at a long birdie. I switched over that same week and bought 5 to practice with. I still bag a Judge for slight wind but 95% of my putts are now with the Deputy.

I use this putter as my go to putter for anything <50 ft.  I'm still learning the flight pattern, but the feel of the disc is perfect.  I have hands that sweat like no one's business, but regardless the plastic still maintains a grip.  My small hands like the shape of the disc as well, a slight dome but overall a lower profile than the ever famous Aviar.  If you like the Aviar, but think it is a bit too domey and bulky, than the Deputy might be the perfect putter you've been looking for!

This is a fantastic putter to tee off with if you're needing something that will fade to the left every time (RHBH).  I used this on a mountain course where I didn't want it going off the cliff's and it was right on the money.

Now that I've gotten a little more experienced I won't tee off with it too much as the more speed it gets, the harder it fades.  All in all, very cool disc with a great design.
