The Deputy is a new putt and approach disc from Dynamic Discs. This putter has a more shallow rim and understable flight path. You will find it to be a very straight-flying putter within the circle. The popular disc golfer Paige Pierce uses this for her close putts.

The first time I tried using this putter was at the 2017 Trilogy Challenge. It came in the prime plastic. It has a shallow and comfortable feel with no bead. It took me awhile to get the hang of this disc, as I putt with a Shield on a slight hyzer release. I just never found a spot for it in my bag after the trilogy challenge. But fast forward 5 years later and it has found a spot in my bag. I use this disc for those long 40-80ft putts. Been nailing them with pretty good success. What I can say is the Deputy would be great for someone wanting a good point and shoot straight putter. Someone with smaller hands and more of a finesse putter. Or someone like me who wants to be able to nail those monster putts when needed.

I love it for throwing, my partner loves it for putting. Versatile is the best word to describe it. Beadless makes it feel easier to power grip and shallow enough for putting grip. Flies straight everywhere, inside the circle and from the tee.The plastic is tacky in a good way for putting grip that feels like confidence.

I purchased the Deputy in the search for putting putter to use for longer C1+ putts. With the understability and glide of the Deputy I have found some success hitting these longer putts. The Deputy really holds the line you putt it on straight to the basket, and the glide helps it to really hang in the air. I really like the Prime plastic, it has a great combination of firmness and grip.

I have thrown the Deputy off the tee a time or two and if you are looking for that understable flight in a putter, this disc really does deliver.

If you are in the market for an straight to understable flying, point and shoot putter you might want to check out the Deputy!

Man, this disc is the definition of a putting-putter. The prime plastic has a slight tacky grip to it, which for me adds to the confidence I have in the disc. C1 putts are becoming extremely consistent with this disc. I don't really use this as a throwing putter due to not wanting the prime plastic to get beat up, but it is a money putting putter!

The Deputy let's talk about it. Do you need a putter that is going to be a reliable straight putter than this may be the putter for you? I picked the Deputy up in 2018 just to try it out and immediately fell in love. So let me pro-con this disc for you to show you why I bag it.

Let's get the bad out of the way first. Yes, this an understable putter meaning that it will be affected a good deal by headwinds. However, if you can learn to put with a hyzer into headwinds or get and keep the nose down this won't be that much of a problem.

Now the Pros of this putter. Man can this thing fly! It has the perfect amount of glide; unlike other putters, I hardly worry about it going too far past the basket if I want to run it. As well the best part is if you are inside Circle one just focus on a chain-link point and fire, it's as good as in. As well the feel in the hand is phenomenal it just feels natural regardless if you spin, push or spush putt.

Now I know that experiences may vary but I highly encourage if you haven't found your primary putter pick up a prime Deputy and give it a shot. You may fall in love with it as much as I have.

I choose this as my under stable putter. I have small hands with short fingers. This fits my hand reasonably well. It fly great from my hand. I love this putter and have at least four in my possession. Two of my putting putters with the Roman Bomber stamp, A Paige Pierce that has been relegated to the wall

i got this in a player pack at a latitude 64 hosted event. i got it in 175grams which is a bit heavy for my taste in a putter but i have found a use for this disc when in heavier winds from about 50-60 ft. the weight seems to allow it to cut through the wind better. because it actually has a turn for a lower speed, its pretty easy to get it to carry that distance without changing my putting form too drastically.

it does feel great in the hand. i can see why people would like this as their putting putter if a judge feels to deep in their hand. thin crust is always better than deep dish, anyway. if you disagree, you are dead to me.

I'm going to review this as a putting putter and a throwing putter, but my rating will be for it as a putting putter:

Putting: This is my current putter.  What I like about it is the smaller profile rim, this holds very straight lines when I putt, I can aim at the pole and hit the pole inside the circle.  What I don't like is the glide can be difficult to control.  VERY glidey, but that glide is amazing for C2 putts so it's just a matter of getting used to it.

Throwing: I hate throwing this disc. Just too understable.  You HAVE to hyzerflip this if you have any power.  If there is any wind forget about it.  If you are looking for a straight throwing putter, look at a Lucid Warden instead.  However this is a good approach disc for those little finesse upshots.

I picked up a couple in prime burst and immediately made the switch to putting deputys all the time. The feel is just right in my hand.  I prefer an understable putter and this fits the bill perfectly.  I have never thrown one off the tee or done anything else other than putt.  But if you are an understable spin putter this may be the ticket.

I have mixed feelings about the Deputy. I think it can be a good putter for someone looking for a turnover putter. I throw more overstable putters and I seemed to miss right a lot with the Deputy. My Disc Golf buddy who is a better putter than me only puts with Deputy(s). He uses more of a spin type putt and I have more push in my putt. It doesn't feel a lot different than judges, but it definitely flies more understable.

DD hit it out of the park with this mold! Got it at the Trilogy Challenge, and it's just been awesome! Became my main putting putter for  a while! Nice straight flight for my push putt. I've recently changed over to Gauntlets, because I've just simply been putting better with them lately, but the Deputy is still an awesome putter! A little too understable for me off the pad, though.

Prime 175g. I got this in the trilogy challenge and absolutely despised it for putting. I'm usually a big fan of DD putters and discs generally, but the prime plastic felt absolutely awful and everyone on my card had either a bounce out or a roll away with this disc (if not multiple). As a thrower, it fit the description and had nice understable lines. Very swan like. However, personally I still hated the feel of the plastic so this disc only gets 2 stars.

Now this Disc in the trilogy challenge i liked and so did most of the field.  Nice feel and very shallow for nice releases when throwing or driving.  Glidey and trusty for what the numbers say. It never felt to flippy.  Seemed to work well for spin and push putters.  If you like the Discraft Roach, you will like this better.  Better feel, flight and slightly better name.  Not a big fan of naming it the deputy either but it is about the feel and flight not the name.  This disc isn't going to get rid of my clutch's or Clozer's but it is still in my bag and i keep using it

I got to play with this disc last weekend in a Trilogy tournament. It made for a great, all-around disc. The understable turn made it very useful for anhyzer shots or flexes around trees.

I will say that the Prime plastic shows the wear on it pretty quick. 18 holes and it looks like I've had it for years.

I had been playing with an MVP Spin to prep for the tourney, but I like the Deputy better. It's going to be my primary putter.
