I picked up a Z-Line Nuke for a reliable, overstable distance driver. This disc rarely gives me any turn and flies very true in the wind. If I put it on anhyzer, this disc likes to fly for a while and always flexes out. My favorite way to throw the Nuke is on big hyzer lines. It slightly flips up, making it carry much farther, even on steep hyzer angles. I also like throwing this disc forehand because it has a very aggressive skip.

The main downfall of the Nuke is the hand feel. I bag a couple of 13-speeds like the Shryke and the Pharoah, but those rims feel way better for me. I have large hands and still find this rim uncomfortable because of its width.

I would not recommend this disc to beginners or early intermediate players. I would also not recommend this disc to anyone with small hands. The Nuke will not fly well unless you have high arm speed. For those who can throw 12-speed discs and get the full flight, I think the Nuke could be a great addition to your bag.

Okay, so this may be rather insane considering I am very much a beginner, but I love this disc and it has been incredibly useful for me. As someone who is very forehand dominant and has been able to quickly pick up a lot of power with my forehand I find this disc to be superb. Now that I understand how it flips and how to use it I can shape my shots really well and consistently get them to land exactly where I want them to. With that said, there is no way in hell my backhand is going to be strong enough to do anything but flip this right over into the ground for a LONG time to come so if you are looking for a good backhand disc and you are anything less than advanced I would move right along. If you have at least a passably strong forehand (I've thrown this thing around 350-400 feet on an open field several times) and you have a decent understanding of how a disc is going to react when thrown, I would highly recommend picking one of these up. Z plastic is incredibly durable so it will last a very long time in your bag and be a really useful tool for you!

This review is for every nuke I've ever had which is a too many because they are easy to lose. I no longer throw the nuke, and I don't believe most amateurs should be throwing it either. It is a very wide rimmed driver, and can be quite unpredictable. While it hurts me to speak negatively about the disc that gave me my farthest recorded throws, my rate of OB has gone down drastically since switching them out. They start off stable, but once they beat in they will hold a turn and go and go and go. Great for a distance contest, but terrible if you accidentally flip past flat. If you aren't throwing 400 ft on golf lines you probably don't need this disc. Doubles on a open no OB course though? oh yeah full sendies dem nukes. Still gets 3 stars cause they're named NUKE for a reason.

The Nuke (particularly the NukeOS) is my favorite disc of all time. I got my first ace with a Nuke. This disc is definitely not beginner friendly and takes a big arm to be able to throw it properly. Once you get into a drive with the Nuke you will absolutely have heads turning. This disc is perfect for forehand bombs. Over the course of my time playing I have bought 7 different Nukes as they're definitely my go to disc. I would recommend this disc to more veteran players who have a big forearm throw.

I use this disc for my power shots.  It's fairly overstable but not too much.  The z-line feels really good in my hand and it doesn't slip out of my hands like other plastics do.

Also a really good forehand disc.

I found this disc (unmarked) on a course and have been throwing it ever since. As someone who maxes out at ~350 (averaging around 325ft), this disc is a little too much for me for normal everyday use, however I find that I am able to throw it well into a headwind and that is my primary use for this disc. It is very flat topped and feels good to throw. The Z-plastic has superb durability, second to none, and the neon yellow color is easy to pick out anywhere on the course. As someone who struggles with nose angle control, this disc often stalls out on me if I throw it a little nose up, however when I do get the nose down, this disc glides for what feels like forever. If I were ever to need to replace this disc, I would likely look into the Nuke SS, as it seems like it would fit my needs and arm a little better. Wouldn't recommend for beginners, but likely is suitable for intermediate + players.

I throw the ESP plastic Nuke and it was the first distance driver from Discraft I picked up. I thought I was stronger than I actually was at that point and struggled with it. I learned fairly quickly this disc wasn't for me and it got set aside. As I started doing research and learning more about the sport I was able to tune up my technique and build some actual throwing power and started loving this disc. It feels amazing in my hand with a nice wide rim that I really feel I can get a grip on and just rip it. This disc quickly became my go to distance driver for a long time (until I got my hands on a Force). this disc is definitely going to be more overstable for a great many players due to the high speed and fact it is overstable anyways. Unless you have advanced level throwing power I wouldn't recommend throwing this. I have a good friend I play with that uses a Nuke and I can easily out distance him with a midrange when we play a casual round because his Nuke just hyzers out. Pick this up after several years of playing and when you have the technique and power to throw it. If you wait for the right time this disc will be an absolute bomber in your bag and you will enjoy watching the disc soar down the fairway. For me it is a great disc and I can get a great flight out of it. it will have a home in my bag for many years to come.

This is my favorite disc. I like to throw forehand whenever possible. This disc is perfect for that. The wide rim fits comfortably in a forehand grip, and the flight is dependable. It will go straight for a long ways, and then fade a moderate amount at the end. I use this for any open drive, and also any drive that fades to the right. I have tried other discs, but none compare to the Nuke.

I absoutely love my Z nuke. I have been limiting what distance drivers I throw since most of the courses around me are pretty wooded and dont need a distance driver and because I had a slower armspeed and did not throw very far. My only distance driver I bagged was a crank ss because it fit my understable to stable driver needs. But I needed something more reliable but not a crazy overstable driver. I found that exact thing with the nuke. I can throw it flat and get a flat flight most of the way with a very consistent fade at the end. If I throw it on an anhyzer line it holds the angle for a little bit then continues to glide while it fights out to finish left. I have found that the nuke is a bomber disc if you can handle the power needed to get it up to speed. It has not been touchey at all for me, if I am off of an angle by a little bit the worst thing is that it will have the consistent fade but not just dump right away. I never realized how much by bag was lacking a stable distance driver when I do find myself going for max distance shots in open holes. I can trust the nuke to fly super far on some hyzer when the wind picks up which makes me love it even more. I love how the nuke feels in my hand, it is shallow and wide rimmed which just feels great to rip on for max distance shots. I could not say enough praise for this disc as a first stable to overstable distance driver for players when they are truly ready for a disc like this. In my opinion you cannot go wrong with a nuke

This disc gave me a lot of distance and has a reliably over stable finish. As my speed increases it is a little harder to control but I am able to flex it more and get more glide out of it.

The Nuke is a great option for a go to predictable driver. I currently bag a Destroyer over the Nuke which I will get into later. What I like about the Nuke is that you can always count on it to flip to flat or turn slightly then dump from the fade. This applies to both forehand and backhand. The reason I don't bag a Nuke is because I find it hard to be consistent with, mainly because of the shallow rim. Some days it feels comfortable and others it just seems like I'm constantly trying to readjust. The nice thing about the thin profile and shallow rim is that you can skip it very easily.

The Nuke is a disc that I bagged for a long time as a meathook/forehand driver to replace a Flick that I lost. In that role it works well but there are probably better discs out there.

Hand feel: it’s a wide-rim driver. For me it is not very comfortable to throw backhand because of that. Actually a very comfortable forehand disc because of the flat top and the shallow rim, I don’t notice the width of the rim near as much with a forehand grip.

Flight: if you don’t have a speed 12 or 13 arm, this will be a meathook for you as it is for me. However, after discing down to speed 9s for a while and then adding the Nuke back in during field practice, I am finding that if I really mash on this disc so it doesn’t fade out immediately, it has incredible glide. While it takes all the power I can give it, I find on a similar throw it will outdistance my slower drivers pretty significantly.

Overall: if you have the arm for it, I think this is a great high speed driver with the stability to take all the smash you can give it. However it’s great glide gives it some utility for intermediate players as a forehand or headwind disc. Definitely not recommended for beginners though.

The Nuke from Discraft is a wide rimmed distance driver. For me, this disc was not comfortable in my hand. The rim is just way to big for my taste, and it made me feel like I couldn't control the disc with consistency. To get the true flight of this disc, you really need to put some power on it. Power players looking for open course bombers will probably love this disc, but it really does need some room to work. I would not get anywhere near this disc if I was a beginner.

Did not like this disc. I have tried multiple nukes in different stages of wear and just dont like this disc. The disc feels awful in my hand. I dont have big hands, but I wouldnt consider my hands small either, and this might be the worst feeling disc ive tried. The rim is too wide for me to get a comfortable grip, creating early releases on almost every throw. On top of the widest rim allowed, they made it super sharp. This adds to the uncomfortablness, making it feel even a little wider. I really dont understand why so many people like this disc and would not recomend it to any new player, as it takes a lot of power to get this disc up to speed

The Elite Z Nuke was my go-to for max distance for a while but I've recently started to throw the Innova Star Destroyer and decided to take the Nuke out of my bag. While it was in my bag though, it was by far my favorite disc to throw. It would hold the turn forever before coming back and finishing straight. I never had any problems throwing this disc and I'm thinking it might make a reappearance in my bag shortly.

For sure my go to distance driver.  Compared to other popular molds, (destroyer, boss, sheriff, and D2) it just goes further with less effort.  It doesn't have the most comfortable rim.  Its a bit deep, but I haven't ever had this affect my release or overall throw. I can consistently rip this 400+ without having to use a flex shot. Not that you cant throw flex shots with it, I just dont often need to to get the distance I need.  I throw it flat or with a bit of hyzer and it glides to the right then fades back left resulting in an almost perfectly straight flight.  I will be very surprised if another distance driver ever takes its place. Would definitely recommend in either elite Z or Big Z plastics.

The rim has a great feel and I find that if I need to hit a line for about 300ft straight and have it fade hard (but not spike) to the left then this is the exact disc that I pull out.  ?

I recently acquired my first Nuke (174g) and was instantly impressed. I throw a pretty strong forehand, with a lot of rotation and was surprised, not only with the distance but the stability of the fight path. The disc didn't turn as much as I'd expected, some turn but not a lot, and then had a moderate fade with a nice skip at the end. So, as a predominant forehand thrower, the Nuke will instantly become one of my go-to distance drivers.

I bought this disc hoping for it to be similar/ maybe a replacement for my star destroyers for max distance forehand shots.  The flight of the disc was similar for me, but the thing I struggled with the most was the huge difference in rim width.  I know its only listed as a 3mm difference, but in the hand, and with me having smaller hands, it became a hard disc to trust for me because I never felt 100% confident with it on the tee pad.  The disc is great for what it was designed to do, max distance, high speed flights.  Sadly, though, its not one that I continue to throw.

The Nuke is a great driver.  I have a lighter Z Nuke for open field, max distance shots and can get it up close to 500 in the right conditions.  I have a max weight Z Nuke for shots where I need the disc to hold straight and then have a skip at the end.  This is a very versatile disc based on the plastic and weight.

The Nuke is still Discraft's essential high speed driver, even after being out for several years now. A moderately stable, fast driver with good glide, it compares favorably to Innova's Boss. Works well in pretty much any wind conditions and can handle very hard rips without flipping over.

Other drivers have been released by other companies since the Nuke came out that are slightly faster and longer. However, I still think the Nuke is at the top of the list of viable distance drivers. I also like that Discraft hasn't tried to release 10 similar drivers since the Nuke was released, as Innova did after they released the Boss. The Nuke still sits very firmly at the top of the heap as far as Discraft's lineup goes.

The Nuke is a very solid choice for an overstable driver. I had one in my bag for a long time before switching it out because of a move away from Discraft discs. It has a very predictable flight, is great for fighting a headwind, and can have a reliable landing. If you throw it flatter, the disc can take huge skips, the second ace I had was with an elite z Nuke that took a big skip up and into the chains. If you throw the disc with more hyzer it tends to crash in harder and take a short hop rather than a skip. This disc is great for both forehand and backhand drives

I own a couple elite z Nukes.  These discs really fly far and fast for me.  I have put a lot of field work in with them, but they have yet to replace my destroyers.  I find them a little inconsisten when flying into a headwind.  Sometimes I get too much high speed turn out of them.

The Rim of this disc is super wide and may not be great for smaller hands.  I love the discraft elite z plastic.

I like the Nuke. The mold that I have seems to be relatively flat and pretty overstable. I would compare it to an overstable Destroyer in the Star plastic. This disc seems to be even harder to flip than my detroyers that I own. I personally have an Elite Z Nuke. I quite like the Z plastic due to its extreme durability. It can be slick at times but the feel and grip is not as big of an issue for me. I dont forehand this disc simply because there are other discs in my bag that I have gotten used to flicking. I imagine that it would perform well in that category though. Having thrown this disc I have a hard time imagining the flight path of a Nuke OS. This thing is pretty beefy as it is. If you are looking for a long durable driver that you will be able to Anhyzer Flex for rounds to come, I suggest the Discraft Nuke.

This is the first distance driver I ever really threw. A friend had it and I learned to throw with anhyzer so it would fly mostly straight. Since then I've gotten more discs and learned a little more about strategy and arm speed. I still like to throw that old nuke and its one of my farthest flying discs for sure.

Let me start off by saying that I have two z nukes, a max weight blue nuke with a very high PLH, and a max weight yellow big z nuke with an average PLH.

My blue nuke will NOT turn over at all. Talk about beefy, this thing likes to go left (RHBH). Thrown hard with a lot of snap, it will go laser straight for about 350 feet, then fade HARD to the left. And when I say hard to the left, I mean like drop out of the sky, spike into the ground hard. That being said, I love the overstability of it, especially in strong headwinds.

My yellow nuke, on the other hand, has a noticable amount of turn in its flight. Enough so that I have to throw it with hyzer so it flips up, turns, then fades back. Silky smooth s shots lead to massive distance with this disc (no wind ~400 feet, tailwind ~475 feet).

I would only recommend an elite z nuke for players with strong arms or tons of snap. If you have the opportunity, buy one in person so that you can compare the PLH's of different discs.

The Nuke was my first distance driver, and still holds a commanding spot in my bag. It is very useful for forehands and backhands, with lots of distance to go along with it. While the Nuke shines in these throws, it also excels in tomahawks. It finishes straight at the target when thrown overhand, and is very useful for all throws. I got one of these as a tournament disc and the more I throw it the more I love it! I throw a flick and typically can hit 400+ shots with the right disc. For this one I have hit around 380 on a couple max drives, but usually hit about 320-340. It comes off smooth and straight with very little turn, then will fade pretty hard at the end. I love the hook on this thing. This disc is popular for a reason.

The Nuke claims to give players extra distance. This claim may be true if the player has a powerful throw. Beginners and intermediate players, this is not the disc for you. Even the little brother, Nuke SS, isn't for beginners. Seek slower discs. For a comparison, it is very similar to an Innova Destoyer.

I don't like the Nuke. I don't like the ultra thick rim, have trouble throwing it with any kind of control, and it's too fast for my ability. For me it seems way more overstable than its 1.6 stability rating indicates. For Discraft distance drivers, I prefer the Surge.
