these flatter top runs are very easy to put out on a slight anny and expect at least 50% of the flight to be a slow panning drift to the right on a RHBH, with a subtle but reliable fade. any time I need to carve off distance, I'm reaching for the Nuke

Probably my favorite distance driver. Has a great handfeel and flies true to its flight numbers if you can get it up to speed otherwise it'll give you a great utility disk with super reliable fade. Unlocked another level of distance with this baby.

This is my favorite disc. I've played for years and primarily throw forehanded. I got the X-Line first and it took a beating playing in dry, rocky courses over the years. The PP ESP plastic was worth the upgrade and the disc flies great distance with good technique.

    Big Booms, enough said ;)

Pros:  It can go far, like really far.  I have some of my furthest sidearms with the Nuke.

Cons: Consistency based on dome and run, as well as wind can cause some issues.  The rim is also very wide, which I love for flex shot discs, but not so much for hitting my line when I need to.

I think its more beginner friendly (some people just spit out there coffee) than the destroyer or boss, but its just not what i was looking for in my distance driver.  Try the Emperor, no seriously, try one.  They go far, like really really far.

This is a disc for those looking to throw for predictable distance. Out of the box, as someone who can throw 500, they should not flip up much, possibly not at all (depending on the run). As they beat in they can fill all slots of distance drivers. For me this is the go to distance driver and all should experiment with the nuke before finally deciding on their primary driver.

Big arms, eat your heart out! The Nuke will become your staple driver in your bag for distance. Glidey, reliably overstable, and very easy to shape on S-turn shots. Big disclaimer: DO NOT get this driver if you have SMALL HANDS. This is NOT the driver for you. Even as a 13 speed, this is one of the thickest/widest rims of all golf discs. That being said, it is PERFECT for throwers with bigger hands who want to really "dig" into the disc when they throw. This disc is also VERY shapeable on forehand shots. Even if you do not have huge distance, you can still use this driver's wide rim for great skip shots to flare around corners. Pick one up and embrace the Uli memes!!!!!

Much like the beloved Destroyer, the Nuke does not fly as the numbers would indicate. This is a stable disc with very little to no turn for me (a 937 rated player). As a comparison, the Enigma has similar flight numbers but flies as the numbers would suggest. If I were to bag this disc (which I do not and it just sits in my garage), I would only use it with a decent headwind. As with all other discraft plastics, I find the ESP plastic inferior to other comparable plastics by competing manufacturers. It lacks the grip and feel that I love about Fuzion and Star plastic.

I found the ESP, Paige Pierce version of this disc at a local course. It was in the street by hole 18, up against a storm drain. The disc I found had a sizable section carved out from the rim and several deep cracks. So I played the course a 2nd time using this disc, to try it out. I threw it with reckless abandon over all water hazards, I just found the disc, so losing it wouldn't be a big deal. It flew further than my Destroyer. I birdied 3 holes with this thing based on the distance it provides... but ironically, I lost it at the same hole I found it. Hole 18. I tried a roller and it went in the water. Next day I went out and bought a new one. Purple so I can see it. Same mold, PP ESP. I love this disc. I've never seen a disc flip up to flat when thrown on an anny flex forehand. I expected it to go the typical left-to-right flex route, which it eventually did...but only after laying out flat and gliding for some great distance. Please buy this disc.

I'm a primary forehand player and this is my favorite drive. Gets me my max distance, and it feels great in the hand. ESP plastic has been pretty durable, as I've nailed some trees at pretty high velocity and the flight path has remained true so far after several months of very frequent playing

The Nuke is one of the best drivers on the market. If you have the arm speed for a 13-speed disc, you will be greatly rewarded with the distance these can bring. I have found that across all plastics, the Nuke has more turn than indicated. This makes it a little touchy into headwinds on a flat release, but a headwind bomber with a little hyzer. I would not recommend the nuke to most people for forehands as speed 13 does take a toll on your elbow to throw.

This is becoming a reliable overstable driver. In windier conditions this is becoming a go-to for me but it's a bit beefier than I can comfortably throw on most courses. I need a ball-golf style course to use this disc!

A staple in my bag, but definitely not for everyone. Overstable to say the least, an above average arm is highly recommended because it will dump if you cannot power past the 13 speed. Max weight will hold the hyzer lines better in my opinion and lower weights will definitely be considered bombers (425+ feet). If you have not tried one, you need to try it.

I have an ESP Nuke which I throw for most of my max distance shots. It is fairly new, but it has been beat in a little bit. I have found this disc to be ever so slightly less stable than advertised. I can hyzer-flip it backhand for 400-425 max with no wind, but into a headwind this thing will turn forever (not flip vertical, just fly with an extended turn). Forehand, it is decent, flying for maybe 350 to 360 max, but I prefer to flick fairways most of the time if I can. However, I have found an unexpected use for this disc: max distance sky rollers. Thrown on a huge anhyzer angle high into the air, this will find its way to the ground on decent cut angle and, because it has good late stability to it, it will ride on that angle for days before it curls up and settles down. I quite like this disc, and while there are other distance drivers on the market that I like a lot, the Nuke can certainly hold its own against them.

RHBH: the new swirly ESP is soft and grippy with some dome. It is not as turn resistant as previous runs but it is NOT flippy by any means. It has slight turn, straight flight, then hard fade. This nuke has a bit more glide than previous runs

FOREHAND: I LOVE A WIDE RIM for my FH shots. The nuke will turn a bit and then fade at low speed. For FOREHAND shots it goes far.

Disc - 175 Discraft ESP Nuke

Feel - The Nike has a very wide rim. For players with smaller hands, this disc could be fairly uncomfortable. If it fits in your hand it feels very good for both backhand and forehand shots. ESP plastic is very durable and also has very good grip in all weather conditions.

Flight - The Nuke goes far if you can get it up to speed. When thrown hard with a bit of hyzer it will flip up to flat and go for a long ways. For players with slower arm speeds it is a very controllable overstable disc that still has a lot of glide. My biggest issue with the Nuke is that it was not very comfortable in the hand and I had found other discs more comfortable like the Destroyer, Raider,  and others so the Nuke is not in my bag anymore.

Overall - The Nuke is a great distance driver as long as you are ok with a large rim. It fits into my hand but I feel as though I lose a bit of control because it's so wide and that's why I chose other discs. I wouldn't recommend this disc to beginners because it is much to fast and overstable.

A simple way to describe this disc: very fast, straight flying, and fairly reliable. This is currently my favorite disc for max distance, backhand and forehand. I can throw up to 425 feet with it. My favorite disc for max distance before was the star destroyer, but the nuke is providing me a bit more distance, with still enough reliability for me.

I will start off by saying that if you do not have the arm speed to controllably throw 400'+, the Nuke is likely not the best disc for you. It is not beginner friendly, nor was it designed to be for newer players. The Nuke will help the Advance to Professional player reach maximum distance, with a fair amount of control. For me, this disc works fantastically both forehand and backhand as a maximum distance driver. It can handle a lot of power and will turn a fair amount, before kicking in that reliable fade at the end.

I’ve got a pretty good arm and can typically throw this disc on average 400ft-450ft. This disc has got to be my favorite driver for long distance throws. It’s great for backhand throws and fore hand. Thrown flat it will turn quite a bit but has a reliable fade toward the end of its flight. Thrown with a hyzer this disc will keep a hyzer the entire flight without being super over stable. Thrown with anhyzer this disc is great for shots where you need it to turn without becoming a roller and flatten out towards the end of the flight. With that being said that’s with the ESP plastic at max weight.

If you’re looking for this disc and want it to be less stable I bag the Big Z plastic in weight around 169g for big anhyzer shots where you need to make the disc turn a lot. Also works great for long back hand roller shots.

there is a reason the nuke is one of the most popular distance drivers in the game. For me in ESP plastic the nuke is great for big distance flex shots, or straight shots that will dump hard at the end. In the Glo plastic it is significantly more overstable. I throw it when I absolutely need to get right. Because of the big rim it allows for huge flair skips. I would definitely recommend this disc to more experienced players. Newer players will probably find this to be a bit overstable for them.

Theres a reason they call this disc the nuke it bombs! simply put one of the farthest flying disc on the market in the ESP plastic it is a little bit more understable than the other plastics I've thrown the nukes in but still rather consistent even in windy conditions. Definitely a great disc for people who want to maximize their distance potential.

I have a ESP Nuke and love the flight from this disc but hate the plastic.  Within the first week of owning this disc my Nuke laded on some pavement and skipped onto the grass.  After picking up the disc I noticed a chunk about 1 inch long was missing from the edge of the disc. The disc still seems to fly fine and I still throw it I just make sure its over grass and not in trees etc.  I have other discs in ESP plastic and they are all very durable.

In flight the Nuke is flies far and has a nice small turn then fades back pretty good.  I think this is my feartest flying disc I own.  The rim is wide but I still have no problem getting a good grip on the disc and I have small hands.  Most of the time I don't do well with large rimed drivers but the Nuke works fine for me.

I would recomend a Nuke for the more experienced player looking for a faster driver. I think I would pick one up in Z plastic and if you are worried you might not have the arm speed get a lighter one.

I have a beat and domey Esp Nuke.  I thought that it would replace my Echo Star Destroyer but it just couldnt.  It went about 350 the first time I threw it but since then I can't hit over 280 with it.  It also refuses to turn at all.  The Nuke OS and SS variants are amazing but the normal Nuke is just no good.

The Nuke is a maximum distance driver made by Discraft for power throwers. According to Discrafts ratings, the Nuke has a stability rating of 1.6, although after doing a number of test throws it really seems more overstable than that. Discraft’s website says it “delivers virtually effortless maximum distance for moderate and expert players”. I believe the expert part. It really seemed like I needed a lot more power to get this disc to go even average driver distance. I must not be a moderate player either as the Nuke was not a great distance driver for us in our forehand test throws. It compares a lot with the Innova Ape in needing serious power to get distance results.

It all started with this disc. Had it not been for the nuke, I wouldn't be playing disc golf. The votes are in. More often than not a review of this disc is going to be positive. It is a multi level disc suited to many throwing styles, which is part of why its so popular. Unlike a super understable or overstable disc, you can literally build your game throw by throw with the nuke, learning the ins and outs of hyzers, anhyzers, thumbers, etc. This thing does it all and it's so so good at it. I highly recommend it. Now, to the fun stuff. With a speed 13 throw this disc will GO. I have owned Z and ESP nukes. The Z's are a touch on the overstable side and take forever to beat in, so I recommend getting an ESP to start. At first it'll fly overstable if thrown flat, but hang in there and after a bunch of rounds it'll start to give for you. I release mine in a very slight hyzer and it soars flat for a hundred feet or so, then bends right, and as it slows down the fade doesn't decimate it's glide, giving it a nice crisp finish, usually stopping dead where it lands. A flat, easily manageable flight with lots of glide and superior distance. Eat 'em up!

Recently bought an ESP nuke. It's flight pattern was totally different than my TI Nuke. My TI was wicked overstable. My ESP is overstable, but it also goes straight first. You can really rip this disc and it will most likely still finish with a reliable fade. The ESP plastic is probably my favorite for the Nuke. It feels nice and it seems to fly more in line with the flight ratings.

To me the esp right out of the box throw just like a beat in z. I prefer the z nuke due to the quality of the plastic it will last a long time.

I have this disc in Elite X, ESP, and Ti. And each plastic throws different. The Elite X is for some reason super overstable and not as much glide. My ESP Nukes always have a great expected understable line, but dont be surprised after you hit one too many trees if it gets a little more understable and then soon you'll be getting a new one. I expect my Ti to become a little more understable after I break it in more but right now its pretty stable.

The Nuke is a staple for maximum distance! A new Nuke is slightly overstable and can handle headwinds. Once beat in, it becomes a little less stable however can provide even greater distance. If you are looking for one maximum distance disc for long open shots, you must try the Nuke!

I would recomend to beginers for an overstable disc.  For Intermediates and beyond this disc is still overstable but will be easy to put a nice s-curve on it for some real distance.  I have found the Nuke to be one of the most consistent discs in my bag, when I grab my Nuke, I know what it will do.

ESP plastic will beat in after a while, so make sure to pay attention to changes in flight patterns over time.  If you want a Nuke that will not change as fast, grab Z plastic.
