Pro-D plastic offers baseline affordability and grip but beats in quickly. The Pro-D Nuke starts stable and seasons into a very flippy distance driver.

    Pro-D Details

Pro-D is Discrafts affordable basic plastic blend. This isn't the most durable plastic, but it provides good grip and is very affordable. For old school disc golfers that like to "break in" thier discs for varying flight paths, Pro-D is an excellent choice. It is also one of the most popular blends for putters and is often referred to as "putter line" plastic.

This is the Discraft answer to the Destroyer from Innova. It's slightly faster and boasts a beefier rim than the Destroyer. The flight characteristics are obviously similar, and you will more than likely see one or the other in just about everyone's bag. Personally, I prefer the Destroyer, I just find it a little easier to throw and control, but I have a lot of very talented friends that swear by this disc. All in all, it's a fine disc, it's very predictable, and offers a lot to the player off the tee, but I just can't see myself every putting one in the bag. Good luck if you choose to do so.

DO NOT BUY THIS DISC IF YOU'RE NEW TO THE GAME. You're wasting your money and won't be able to get decent control for much longer than you think.

This review is for a Discraft Nuke Pro D (163g).  I have already written a review for my Nuke Elite X (165g), and this disc flies very similar.  If anything, I prefer the Elite X.  Time after time, I am able to throw my Nuke Elite X farther than my Nuke Pro D.  The edge of the Nuke Elite X feels much sharper than the Nuke Pro D and as a result, I'm sure that's what helps it cut through the air.

Either way, the Nuke is a great disc with a great-feeling wide rim which inspires confidence for deep bombs.

The nuke was one of my first discs which was very discouraging. I couldn't get it 50 feet without it slicing into the ground. I almost sold it online when I was confronted by an experienced player who said to hold onto it for a year, and that if I practice enough, I will improve into using this disc.

He was SO RIGHT!! that was two years ago and it is now my go-to driver. I use it when I need a reliable drive or have some head wind.

Another very stable distance driver that I would recommend for consistant drives
