Everybody's always like "Oh my goodness, the Buzzz is so awesome and great and flies so straight and amazing and now I feel special because I throw discs that the great Paul McBeth throws." Well I'm telling you right now, the Buzzz is the most completely average disc in all the lands! You throw it, it flies like every midrange that ever has attempted to hold a line. And while Discraft is fine, makes good discs but very bad rafts, the Buzzz is so overrated that it makes me vomit. Just kidding that would be gross. Also, the Buzzz is inconsistent as inconsistent can be. Sometimes, you get a flippy mid or a stable mid. If only Paul McBeth never used this.

One of the most straight discs I have ever thrown. As I got better at throwing, I noticed the -1 turn. When I was a beginner, I always thought DEAD STRAIGHT!

This should absolutely be your first disc. All other stable mid-ranges are basically trying to get on the same level as the Buzzz.  It will hold any line, has an amazing grip, fantastic flight, small fade at the end. ESP plastic is one of the best on the market. 5/5.

177 gram Discraft Buzzz ESP plastic. Almost every disc company has a neutral mid range but the Buzzz is still one of the best. Personally, Discraft ESP plastic is one of my favorites for smooth, attractive, decent grip, fairly durable plastic that feels and flies great. Before trying the Buzzz, I also threw an Innova Mako3 and a Dynamic Discs Truth. I like the Mako3 and still throw it sometimes for specfic shots, but the Buzzz was the clear winner and I throw it more than any other disc. The flight numbers are accurate and -1 turn and 1 fade seem like the perfect combination for a straight, versatile, and easily controllable disc that can do pretty much anything. Sure, sometimes there is a disc that might be slightly easier to use in a specific situation, but chances are a Buzzz will get the job done quite well. It is a great choice 1 disc rounds. And you almost need to throw a Buzzz to interpret reviews of other discs because it is so frequently used as a standard for comparisons.

The Buzzz is one of the most popular discs on the market for good reason. The quintessential point-and-shoot midrange, this disc can do it all. Holds lines perfectly, can stand up to some wind, and is not too overstable to the point where it will dump out before you expect it to. Especially for newer players, finding a neutral midrange can unlock a bunch of new shot shapes as you progress and this is one you'll find yourself throwing on way more holes than you may initially expect.

I bag a 177 ESP Buzz.  It is a great disc, though I think it is slightly overrated, especially if you are throwing at higher speeds. I still love this disc for hyzer flip up backhands and light, constant turnovers, but have moved on for my straight and far midrange shots (to the eclipse reactor, which I love)

I think this disc has a little too much flex and a little too much fade if thrown flat and hard. The feel of the disc in the hand is just ok. I much prefer the feel of the Clash Berry and I think it is a bit more stable than the Buzzz and has less left to right and right to left movement.

This disc typically goes about 250-280 feet for me. I think its an amazing beginner disc and great for gentle turnovers for faster arm speeds though.

I have been using a Paul McBeth 5x World Champion Buzzz for quite some time now and it is still incredibly straight with a long, pushing fade. The disc is very flat and has a slightly larger diameter than some other midranges which can put some people off if they have smaller hands. I would certainly recommend the Buzzz for anybody, but for a beginner, it might be more overstable than anticipated.

Really great for me as a new player. I've gotten it to carry reliably to the 275' range with a fairly reliable small fade at the end. Great on both short holes as well as approach shots and flies pretty straight for quite a bit before fading at the end. Good feel on the grip and I plan to keep bagging this moving forward.

Is there a better midrange than the buzzz? I don't think so. I've thrown rocs, roc3s, truths, emac truths, and honestly most of the other midranges similar to this to fill the slot. There isn't one that I trust more than the buzzz or that feels better in the hand. I think this is really hard to beat. Dead straight with the slightest fade at the end. I will say I don't think the glide is there on my go to buzzz when compared to others I have thrown. My big z buzz has a little more, but I'm not sure how representative mine is of that but I like that. I don't throw many midranges and pretty much only the buzzz. It's honestly the only discraft I really bag, but that being said it is one of my favorite discs period.

The gold standard of golf discs, does a little bit of everything. The market in 2023 has been saturated with molds based off the Buzzz, and some may feel and/or fly better for you, but the Buzzz still definitely holds up after all these years. One thing to know about it, in premium plastics the Buzzz wants to be thrown hard, it doesn't have natural turn brand new and has lower glide than other mids you may throw, but in my opinion it makes it a very responsive disc, it'll react appropriately to the speed and angle you give it.

Let's be honest, if you are looking for a disc that you could have for the rest of your life and it be the only disc in your bag, the Buzzz is the absolute answer! The buzzz is one of the most reliable discs ever created. It feels great in the hand, offers a lot of control and can absolutely be a straight shooter. The buzzz is the go to for anything 250 to 300 feet for most players, maybe 200 for beginners that they can place just about anywhere they desire. The buzzz offers a massive amount of plastic types and can really hold the torque of a high end player.

Buzzz is great. To borrow the most overused phrase in midrange copywriting/reviewing, it'll hold any line you put it on. Though overused, I think this holds true more for the Buzzz than any other mid I've thrown. Most straight-mids that compete with the Buzzz seem to be much easier to turn over by overpowering them. The Buzzz can take significantly more power before you need to start putting it on a hyzer to get a straight flight. This is both a pro and a con-- if you're more comfortable throwing with a slight hyzer, the Roc3 might give you straight results. The Buzzz's tendency to fly straight seems to hold true on lower powered shots as well -- low power shots will have significantly more fade, but still fly straight for the majority of the flight.

That said, I would recommend beginners pick up a Buzzz SS first! The fade will be a lot more manageable and you don't need to worry about throwing as hard as you can on every shot.

I am a Buzzz fanatic! I will always bag a Buzzz! I am a little bummed that with the popularity of the sport, I cannot find as many funky tournament Buzzzes for my wall collection! There used to be an almost excess of older, new Tourny Buzzes that could be found in stores and online! Buzzz is like a beadless Roc. It may even be the same type mold, legend says. You can fan grip for accurate hyzers, or power grip for straight as an arrow, with a slight fade at the end. Whatever your plastic desire, the Buzzz will provide! When in danger, and the absolute need to shoot straight on the fairway, I go Buzzz!

This is, without a doubt, the most effortless and straightest flying disc ever made. It does not leave my bag and probably never will.
Depending on weight, I'd say this is closer to a 0 turn. I can crank on it pretty hard and have it still go pretty straight. Full rip and it will absolutely turn and burn though.
Glide 4 is pretty accurate. It is a very floaty disc and I often overshoot the basket. That being said, it somehow manages to stay relatively low to the ground, making it pretty much the perfect disc for a straight woods shot.

I also appreciate that discraft is honest about the 1 fade and doesn't try to claim 0 like another large competitor's midrange....

MUST HAVE IN THE BAG. If you want a straight shooter for apporaches or technical wooded shots - THIS IS THE DISC. Nice soft edge and rim, and with the grip of the ESP plastic this disc gets thrown on every other hole for me. It will glide and get more distance than you expect. It can be turned over, but it will always fade back. It is a workhorse.

    174g ESP Buzzz

I wanna start by saying that I throw about 315 feet maximum with a fairway and can get the Buzzz out to 250 easy, and could probably push it to 300. Another note is that it has a little bit of scuffing on the rim, which may or may not affect its flight.

The Buzzz is an absolute laser beam of a disc. It is extremely neutral in its flight, but isn't finicky like a Mako3. My favorite shot with it is to throw it on a tiny bit of hyzer. It flips up a little bit and finishes left. It really will hold the line you put it on into the ground. If you want a long anhyzer shot, the Buzz will do that. If you want a hyzer, the Buzzz will do that. If you need a dead straight tunnel shot, the Buzz will do that. It truly is the most versatile disc on the market. This disc does have a lot of glide, but I find it very easy to control distance with it. This should be the first disc any beginning player should throw.

When looking for a disc, I often want to see reviews comparing it to similar discs, so I will compare the Buzzz to other discs like it.

KC PRO ROC: The Roc definitely has a little bit more stability than the Buzzz. It is very turn resistant and won't flip up at all, but has similar low speed stability to the Buzzz. I just like the feel of a Buzzz much better in my hand than the Roc.

EMAC TRUTH: The Emac Truth has more glide, more speed, and more stability than the Buzzz. It has a wider rim than the Buzzz, but other than that it feels pretty much the same. I choose the Buzzz over the Truth because it is much more controllable. I often find the Emac Truth hard to range.

MAKO3: Everyone has different preferences, but I think the Buzzz is miles ahead of the Mako3. The Buzzz is everything I thought the Mako3 would be. It's way less touchy with angles, and is easier to throw on forehands, as it has more torque resistance. I can occasionally get a perfect dead straight shot with a Mako3, but the Buzzz is much more consistent.

Bottom Line: Get this disc. You won't regret it.

I'm really glad that I listened to the "what discs to get when you're first starting disc golf" blogs. This disc immediately became my go-to disc for almost any shot. It's so smooth out of the hand and built up my confidence seeing a disc come out flat and fly straight. It also helped me to realize that the right disc choice matters when you're learning to throw.

What can I say that hasn't been said? Awesome midrange that fits a variety of slots for different people. I've thrown both the ESP and Elite Z and would say they're fairly similar. If anything, my ESP seems a tad more stable. But both will fly dead straight for most of the flight, then slowly fade to the side during the last fourth of its flight. On hyzer it maintains angle and doesn't flip over for me. The buzzz tends to have a soft landing with not too much action on the ground, which is a good characteristic in an approach disc. It will get a little more flippy in a strong headwind, but it flies true in most conditions. If you want something that carries straight longer and more workable for turnovers, go with a mako3. Even more understable, go with the Tursas. More understable than that, go with a Tremor. But for a trusty midrange you can put lots of power into and maintain consistent accuracy, the buzzz is hard to beat. There's a reason it's so popular

By far the best midrange on the market. I throw this disc for nearly every shot between C2 and 225ft for a variety of shot types. Backhand, forehand, anhyzer, hyzer and even straight (yes this disc can do that).  I own one in nearly every plastic I can get my hands on. Signature series ESP is my favorite so far with ESP FLX GLO not far behind. The grip on both plastics is exceptional even in rain and extreme humidity. I would highly reccomend this disc to anyone from beginner to pro. Just watch how Drew Gibson throws his buzzzes if you don't believe me yet.

Probably in every discraft fan's bag. It is a disc that is versatile and can do pretty much everything. I can through 300 foot shots with ease with this disc. The ES plastic is great in my opinion. Beginners should try this out, I am sure you'll love it! I have to say that it is my favorite mid-range. Be careful though, after sometime it does get understable and is almost useless. Overall, a must buy disc.

There is little the Buzzz can't do. My beat-in X Buzzz is my favorite scramble disc, and my ESP Buzzz is one of the discs I learned to throw flat on. It holds lines very well, but its underrated and dependable fade creates easy shapes on long throws. It teaches good habits for new players, and rewards good throws always. There's a reason a lot of Discraft pros literally only throw Buzzzes and its OS and SS cousins. There is literally no disc golfer who can't use some version of a Discraft Buzzz

My go to disc. Bought my 175 gram Paul McBeth 5x World Champion ESP claw mark Buzzz back in 2018. Incredible control mid that depending on how I throw it works as slightly over stable or to flat shots with a little more whip. Have not seen one like my swirly on line. Similar but not as niice looking as mine going for 4 to 5 times what I had purchased it. PHEW !... I wouldn't let mine go that's for sure. It still flies like the day I bought it and it has been resilient to tree hits. Picked up a Comet from this guy a few months ago for 30 bucks in ESP for plastic., he was a bit inebriated, HA !....really enjoying my line up of mids now with my small bag containing these 2 and a Cobra, Roc, Mako3.... depending on the course I play I might switch in Stingrays and a puddle top glow champion Roc3.

It's a great disc and I understand the hype, I just prefer a more stable mid than the Buzzz. I have it in Z glow at max weight, which wasn't an option in the menu. I used it a lot at first for tunnel shots and touchy approaches at 200+ ft but it got replaced bc I have other discs that suit my needs better. It cycles into my bag occasionally. Excellent choice for one disc rounds and effective for all skill levels.

The Buzzz is probably the most widely used midrange in the game (for great reason). The Buzzz is famous for holding whatever line you throw it on. I definitely recommend this disc to anyone for a reliable mid range. However, there can be a bit of a learning curve throwing a wider rim disc compared to a driver. It will take some practice learning to throw your Buzzz straight, but its well worth the time; adding a Buzzz to your bag, when utilized properly, will definitely shave points off your round.

The Buzzz flies super straight, and is an all-around great disc. For an ultimate frisbee player, it mimics the flight of an Ultra-Star quite nicely. I absolutely love this disc for both forehands and backhands, straight shots and hyzers. I can rely on a Buzzz to slice and dice through the woods, and it glides nicely out to a soft finish. Most of the new players I've helped introduce to disc golf also feel this is a good beginner disc choice. Wonderful at full power, and also a nice midrange disc for shorter approach shots. If you're just starting to play disc golf, I'd recommend trying a Buzzz in DX plastic (and you'll probably upgrade to a more premium plastic soon, because I bet you'll love this disc as much as I do).

Let's not make a fuss and get this over with. This is the best disc golf midrange ever made. I have different midranges I bag, of course, and I don't always take this one, but let's be perfectly clear, here. It just is. Sorry, Ricky, Kevin, James, Emerson, and Johne. But, Paul? Also, Paul? All of the plastics they come in are pretty decent, but if you have a choice, the ESP is by far my favorite. And though I referenced a few terrific players early there, it really can be thrown by anyone. I paused for a bit when I was writing this because I was gong to comment on its stats, and walk you through what I experienced in terms of the flight path. I ended up deleting a whole lot, but I will say this. From a slower to a harder throw, it keeps a very similar line compared with how most other discs would fly with such variance in release speed. I don't know how this is possible, but as a happy golfer I won't complain. It's almost strange how good these discs are. It really is. For more experienced players, it will hold a line beautifully, with really only the Latitude 64 river coming close to that. For less experienced players, it will teach you how to shape those lines. The reigning king of one disc rounds, it can be bombed without flipping too bad, but putter without fading too early. Obviously, no one will buy it for that. That's insane. But, it is a perfect all around disc. Do with that information what you must. And, I've been avoiding this, I once made a joke about how the ROC is better. It's a good disc, but MAN. Nothing comes close to these. At least I can admit that.

PROS: Probably the best mid range disc golf disc that will ever be made.

    CONS: There are literally none.

Love my Buzzzes.  I got a Z Line Buzzz in my starter pack and I hated it the first few weeks.  I thought "how is this the most popular mid range ever, this thing sucks".  All my throws would go about 75 feet straight into the ground-- zero glide.  As time went on, my throws got some pop and I think that's what helped for me.  Giving the Buzzz a good rip seemed to help the flight tremendously.  This is my go to midrange for tight gaps and woods play.  I keep buyng them just so I always have extras and maybe one day will do some field work--but until then, I'll just complain to myself about my inconsistencies lol.

This is definitely my favorite disc in my bag. It flies very smoothly and I trust it in a lot of situations. My favorite shot off the tee with this is a forehand. It goes so straight for me and finishes right where I expect it to finish. I also like it for backhand approach shots for those same reasons. It is very controllable for beginners and pros can probably rip this disc quite a ways down the fairway. This disc is just very versatile and I recommend it for all players regardless of skill level.

If you don't have a Buzzz, go get one ASAP! Arguably the most consistent and popular disc in the game. I have 3 in my bag currently, all for different uses. I have a Buzzz ESP that is my workhorse midrange. The ESP plastic feels great and flies so well either backhand or forehand. I have a Z-Line Buzzz SS and it is a very nice compliment disc for the understable midrange when I need a disc to go 150-200' and go right on a RHBH. Lastly, I have a lightweight X-Line Buzzz that I let new players play with or I use to throw over lakes or ponds since it is such an inexpensive disc to replace. All 3 are fantastic, consistent mid-ranges that should be a staple in any/everyone's bag!

If I could give this disc a 6-star I would. This is by far my favorite disc I have ever owned! I have wanted one for months but everywhere has been sold out and hasn't been able to restock because of the pandemic. My wife actually got lucky and found one at our local store and got it for herself but by the next day they were gone again. I talked her into letting me use it and the second time I threw it I got my first ever ace. I got lucky the next day and ordered two from Discraft right after they restocked their factory site. This disc will do absolutely everything I need a midrange or fairway driver for. I can throw it flat and straight for easily 350+ with very little fade or I can throw a hyzer around a tricky guardian tree. This disc will do an anhyzer line and just float down right where I want it. If I had to choose one disc to use for everything I would choose this one. It is easy to see why this is the most popular midrange and all the reviews are definitely accurate. This disc is perfect for everyone. I use it frequently for my disc down rounds and will play entire rounds using only this disc and a putter. In fact some of my best rounds are results of those rounds. Love this disc and will definitely keep this as a staple in my bag for as long as I play!

As everyone knows, this disc is widely recommended among the disc golf community to be the very first disc that a beginner picks up when trying to play disc golf. I would like to say that those people are correct. The Buzzz is so easy to throw, especially for those coming from ultimate frisbee because of the feel of this disc. I have it in esp plastic at 176 grams and it definitely will always have a spot in my bag. It holds any line you throw. Hyzers and anhyzers are always very consistent and true, and the trust is always there no matter what conditions await. The disc thrown flat is a bit understable for me now because it's beat in, but I really enjoy that because it allows for a hyzer flip to straight shot. I recommend anyone to try this disc because it is very easy to throw. The reviews speak for themselves. There's a reason this may be the most popular disc in the world.

This disc doesn't need me to give it a review but here I am. First off this disc lives up to the hype, I've heard about how good it was for years but I didn't buy in for a while, and boy I wish I had. This disc is perfect for throwing whatever you want, throw it straight, it goes straight. Throw is hyzered, it hyzers, throw it anhyzered, you guessed it, it anhyzered. It just holds whatever line you put it on.

This review is for the Jawbreaker Buzzz I got in the Jawbreaker starter set.

The buzzz is such a beginner friendly disc. Coming from an ultimate background I found the buzzz very easy to learn on. It handled flat forehands well and also allowed me to throw easy flex forehand shots.

My jawbreaker Buzzz got beat up pretty quick after hitting a lot of trees, but I'm looking forward to getting it in ESP. There is a reason this is one of the most popular mid ranges of all time.

The Buzzz is the most versatile disc in my bag. It is an absolute workhorse that you will reach for time and time again.

You want it to fly dead straight? Throw it straight.

You want it to fly on a nice hyzer line? Put it on a hyzer line.

You want it to fly on an anhyzer line? Put it on an anhyzer line.

The Buzzz is SO dependable and will never leave my bag for as long as I play disc golf.

Do you need a disc that will hold the ceiling and float down the tunnel you throw it at? This is my go to disc.

At a recent tournament and after a bad 1st round, my ESP Buzzz was able to save my bacon enough to help me finish in 2nd place. It flew straight down every tunnel shot I put it on.

This has been my favorite midrange for a long time! I'm a mostly forehand thrower and this disc is pretty comfortable. It flies super straight with a slight fade but will hold a hyzer or anhyzer if you need it to. I prefer the z-flx plastic but esp is good too. Great disc for beginners who are trying to throw straight drives or really anyone who's trying to throw a straight drive honestly. It's gotten me out of a lot of bad spots. Highly recommend!

This is one of the first discs I got because of all the praise I heard about it for beginners. I can tell you this is a great discs for those learning the game. It flies straight when thrown flat with a slight finish to the left (RHBH), can be put on a hyzer line if you need to get around something, and throws nice on a forehand. I don't think I'll ever take it out of my bag as I am growing it now because I can be confident in throwing the buzzz how I want to. Every player should have one of these discs.

This buzzz is lower-profile and flat-topped stable mid. Its beadless, and while I normally prefer the feel and added stability of a bead, the buzzz felt really good in my hand. It's straight flying and can hold up to some power. Players with more experience can put the buzzz on any line and trust it to hold.

I got an esp mcbuzzz and it was more overstable than I expected. It actually takes some power for a beginner to get up to speed and start working straight shots and anhyzers with. A bunch of people recommended me the buzzz when I first started out but it just wasn't easily workable for me at the start, and was teaching me bad form because I was overcompensating for the stability and shanking more neutral discs to the right of my target. It wouldn't be the first disc I recommend to a beginner. After progressing a bit and coming back to the buzzz, I just didn't have a need for it in my bag between my bards and comets. I prefer the reliability of the bard, and the slower finesse of the comet, as well as the feeling in my hand of both over the buzzz, and the buzzz would have been redundant in my bag.

The buzzz is a great mid that can cover most of your midrange needs in premium plastic right out of the box. It doesn't really require any seasoning, and can be used for 1 disc rounds. I see tons of people using the buzzz and loving it, but it never found my bag... yet. Might come back to it to again and try to truly understand what all the hype is about.

There’s hardly anything to say that has not already been said. This is hands-down one of the best midranges ever made. It is good for all arm speeds and flies very similarly in every plastic. The only thing I have noticed is the Z Glo plastic is a little more over stable. What I love the most is that when it beats in it flies the same still. If you haven’t tried the buzzz and love disc golf you owe it to yourself!

    Disc - 175g ESP Buzzz

    My go-to midrange

The first disc I recommend to new players. This disc will truly hold whatever line you put it on, with a reliable fade to end. Players of all skill levels should have this disc in the bag. Dependable, reliable, consistent, accurate.

If I had to play with only a single disc, the Buzzz would be the one.

Get yourself at least one, maybe more. ESP is great but some people prefer Z.

The best disc ever made. Period.

One of my most versatile mids that i carry. Right out the gate, it seems to carry a little more fade than indicated. I've noticed that it will hold hyzers that just slowly move left. It's got the stability to work out of slight anhyzers for some very gentle flex shots if you need it to just nestle down gently. The speed for me seems a little different which might just be the ESP plastic. I've found myself throwing past the basket a few times on low shots. maybe it's just user error but it seems a bit quicker than my champ Roc3 in my opinion. Really love the disc and the esp looks so good and feels good too.

Well, not anything unique to say here, this is a great disc and deserves its fame. It'll stick to hyzer lines, will go dead straight with a forward finish, or will ride an anhyzer for most of it's flight with a slight OS finish at the end. This is just such a reliable and versatile mid and it should definitely deserve a spot in anyones bag. This disc is also comfortable for either forehand or backhand which is a bonus. If you need a (fairly) easy to use, straight flying mid- then this disc should definitely make you happy.

Long after they were discontinued I bagged an X Line MRV and it was without doubt my favorite disc.  Finally, the day came when it had to be retired and a new disc had to be found and the Buzzz was ultimately the winner.  It's forgiving and allows some decent variance on your release without the disc getting away from your desired line.
If you've only got 1 disc to play 18 holes this would be the choice to reach for.  It's good off the tee and for approaches.  The forgiving nature of the disc along with its versatility makes it hands down one of the best discs for people starting out.

Maybe I'm the weirdo, but I don't love this disc. Maybe I need to give it more of a chance, but I just don't like the way it feels in my hand when I throw it, and it seems to be very inconsistant for me. Now, I do love my Buzzz OS and I will also use my Buzzz SS when called upon, but after trying out the Buzzz, it just hasn't gone in the bag yet. As far as midranges go, I'd much rather use my Roc3 or my Emac Truth if I want a far flying predictable mid-range.

I can't put my finger on it, but it just might come down to feel. I don't love the feel of this disc in my hand, and because of that I think I'm getting an unpredictable rlease each time. It's a little bit like when I used to own a Nova. I hated that disc, because I could not get it to fly out of my hand without a wobble. The buzzz doesn't wobble on me, but I find it very hard to throw without nose up. I don't have that problem with my Emac or my Roc3. So, not sure what's going on there.

Sure, give it a try, but if you were to ask me, I'd recommend other discs before going with this one.

I have a Buzzz in 177g ESP.  It's turned into my favorite mid disc, so much so that I've ordered one in Z plastic too.

The grip took some getting used to -- the rim is a little different from my other discs. But now that I'm used to it, it feels like the most comfortable disc in my bag.

I have been consistently surprised with just how many situations where I can use this disc. It really shines in straight shots, with a little bit of fade at the end. But with the right touch you can make this disc do almost anything you need it to. It's consistent every single time I throw it. (And that's saying a lot, because I am not a very consistent thrower!) The Buzzz just lets me throw more reliably, because I know exactly what it's going to do when I release it.

Small note, I have noticed it's very glide-y, especially if you throw it on an anhyzer.

Overall, I would recommend this disc to any disc golf player. I throw it on almost every hole I play.

This is my go to midrange for straight shots or gentle anhyzers. This is also easily my farthest throwing midrange. There is something about the Buzzz that just feels right and everyone else thinks the same since it is one of the most popular discs ever. I would say the only rounds I hardly ever touch this disc would be when the wind is crazy, other than that it is probably one of my most used discs other than my putter.

Can't say enough about the Buzzz. It's a phenomenal midrange and is king of the long, straight shots, or just about any line you throw it on. It has the potential to be your longest midrange, as it takes power excellently and controllably.

It's pretty shallow in the hand with a thin profile, though I know some plastic can be a little domey. My ESP is very flat, which makes it super comfy and clean to release.

I can not imagine playing disc golf without this disc.  The different plastics do provide some variety in flight.  I prefer the ESP and the Big Z lines for my shots and generally have one of each in my bag.  The ESP has a consistent fade as it slows down.  The BIG Z is straight as an arrow.  both discs are reliable for all arm speeds and very easy to control for all skill levels.  This disc will become the one you reach for whenever the basket is in range and in view.  Its amazing for ace runs, upshots and tricky lines!

Honestly one of the best mid ranges I think anyone could have. I bought my ESP thinking I may be able to flip it up if I powered up. What I found was a super consistent disc that will hold any line you put it on. You can get it to fly very straight right out of the bag and in my case with a good amount of fade, but as you beat it in a little this disc will fly dead straight or glide on any angle you throw it on. I love this disc for in the woods when I need something to carry the angle I put it on. I recommend this disc to everybody, no bag is complete without a buzzz.

The Buzzz is my favorite disc. Everyone says this about every disc, but it really is very predictable, and will hold just about any line with a small forward fade at the end of flight. If I ever don't know what to throw I reach for a Buzzz. I bag three of them.

Z-Line - Mine is pretty flat topped, and stable and I have a difficult time getting much turn with my arm speed unless I'm throwing into the wind, but it doesn't turn over.

ESP - Currently use a 2018 McBeth 4x - Its more flat topped than some other ESPs I've got, but less dome than X. I get a small amount of turn with fade that ends up making for dead straight shots with this disc. The definition of a security blanket on the course.

X - Significantly more dome than Z or ESP, and more under stable. Thrown smoothly it will go straight, but if I need more turn I use this one.

Many have said it before, but this really is a great disc to learn on. Other discs will result in more distance or straighter flights early on, but once they improve form or arm speed they'll leave them behind. You don't "outgrow" a Buzzz.

To warm up I throw my Buzzz. Because its so predictable I can work out any kinks in my throw before picking up other discs, and once I get the flight I know and love I'm ready to play.

I don't know what to say about this disc that hasn't already been said...  Before this disc I was trilogy exclusive, I just couldn't find a midrange from them that I really really liked.  Behold the buzzz, yes I can say with confidence, the best midrange in the sport.  Put it on any angle and it holds it, forehand or backhand, it's super predictable.  The depth is just right in my opinion and I love the feel.  I also love the fact that there are spin-offs of it like the Buzzz OS and SS so you can have similar feel.  Overall, just like most of everyone else, I love this disc, point and shoot, doesn't get much better than that.

This was my first disc 4 years ago and I've bagged at least 2 ever since. The pro-d plastic is especially good for beginners because of its lower stability. I currently bag the Buzzz in ESP and Big Z plastic. It's great for wooded shots and straight shots. It holds straight for about 75% of the flight then fades slightly at the end. One of the best if not the best all-around midrange in the game.

When I first was throwing a Buzzz, I was maybe playing disc golf for around 2 years. I was throwing a extremely weighty 177+g Nate Doss 3x Ti Buzzz that was surprisingly overstable. The disc did NOT work for me and I got it out of my bag. Fast forward to 6 months ago and as I search for a new midrange for my bag, I stumble upon the 4x McBeth ESP Buzzes. At this point, I had already thrown the ESP Zeus and Anax and enjoyed them, so I bought one.

If you are going to get a Buzzz, GET IT IN ESP. This is quite honestly the best feeling disc I have ever held in my hand. The glide, control, and distance are unmatched in the midrange game. I feel like a pro every time I get to pure my line with the Buzzz and watch it cruise with very minimal effort. Do your game and your score a favor and get an ESP Buzzz as soon as possible.

What more can be said that hasn't been said before. Quite possibly the easiest to throw yet one of the highest used professional level discs on offer. If you don't have a buzzz are you really playing disc golf.... this disc goes where you throw it. Nothing more, nothing less. Go buy one now

This disc flies perfectly straight when ripped, but it can also ride basically any line you put it on without fail. This has been and still is one of my go-to mids for many situations.

I throw mostly RHFH. This disc thrown at 80-90% will flip up glide left slightly go straight then fade back right gently in a tight line, Its a great disc when you learn how to throw it. I use it frequently just not in the wind. To me, it's my less than 300ft disc that I want to not skip away.  I leave less than 300 ft wind shots to my Buzzz OS.

    Very Stable Midrange

Many people depend on the Buzzz every day for their shots. The disc is super solid, but it's not my go to midrange for two reasons.

The first is the stability. Discraft actually gives it's discs a stability ranking and normally the are spot on. However, I don't think they got the turn number correct. I have a decent arm (Drive 400ft) and no matter how much I put into this disc I am not seeing any turn at all. That's great if you are looking for a very stable, not over stable, but super straight disc. Personally I prefer my midranges to be a bit more versatile.

The second reason it's not my go to is the glide. Again, I think Discraft was a little too generous on giving this disc a glide 4. Most of the time the Buzzz is impacting the ground way before my glide 5 midranges and even my glide 4 midranges. I am normally a big proponent for glide 4 discs, but I think the Buzzz falls out of the sky too fast.

Nevertheless, the disc is super consistent and ultra-dependable. It would be a great addition to most peoples bags.

This is the best midrange in the game!! I got a big Z Buzzz and absolutely loved it. It was the first midrange that I felt confident in. I got a new ESP buzzz that has just a little fade at the end of the shot. This disc can will do whatever you want it to. I can easily throw this disc about 350-400. I also love how the ESP plastic feels in my hand. This is one disc I will always have in my bag no matter where I'm playing.

I would highly recommend this disc if you are new and looking for a midrange that will be consistent for you.

The Buzzz (in my opinion, of course) is the absolute best Mid-Range in the game. This coming from a guy who's bag is made up of about 95% of a different companies discs. (MVP if you must know) I bagged a Z Buzzz over 4 years ago and absolutely loved it. It was my go-to mid range for almost any type of shot I needed a Mid for. Thrown with low power and hyzer, it will fade some for you. Thrown flat, it will fly dead straight. Thrown with an anny and a lot of power, and it will actually turn over for you. This is the most versatile Mid in the game. A couple years ago, I decided to go 100% MVP Disc Sports in my bag. After a couple of years of realizing that I could never feel that Buzzz slot in my bag... I made the decision to grab a nice swirly ESP Buzzz and throw it back in the bag. This ESP version is a little more beefy than the Z version I had years ago, but it's still really versatile. Just yesterday, I bought yet another swirly ESP Buzzz so I would have a backup in case I were to lose my first ESP... even though I will never do that since this disc goes exactly where you want it! If you haven't thrown a Buzzz... get one! You won't be disappointed!

I recommend this disc to any friend I have just starting out as it was one of the first discs I learned to throw correctly. It doesn't require much speed to turn over a little bit and it flies so consistently. I also know 10 year vets that have several of these in their bags which proves it's value. If you're newly addicted to disc golf and looking for some discs that are beginner friendly and will stand the test of time, this is a must.

This disc is meant to go straight and to shot shape and it does it well. I like it in the ESP plastic, it holds up to punishment well and doesn't lose it's flight path over time. I tend to favor the hyzer shot like all good players should so I only pull this out if that isn't an option.

The buzzz is just about the perfect midrange disc. It is the perfect stability to hold whatever line you throw it on, with whatever power you put on it. I have six different buzzzes in different plastics, and even the seven year old esp flx buzzz doesn't flip all the way over with a full rip. The one exception to this is a 13 year old heavily thrown pro-D buzzz I have that only turns, but for all the buzzzes that are not beat in base plastic, they are extremely versatile and will make anyone's bags better.

Since finding my first Buzzz, I've never played a game without one.  Excellent disc with a similar feel to an ultimate disc.  I find it a little tricky to forehand due to the shape, but it's great for short- and mid-range backhands.  I even use it for drives on some of the shorter holes.  If I had to play 18 holes with only one disc, this would be it.

Th buzzz esp is my go to midrange on any shot that I need. I have a 2018 esp and I love the feel of the plastic. It feels great when I release it. I can put it on any release and I can trust the buzzz to stay on that line. I use it for straight tight shots and anything that I need a slight fade at the end. It will do whatever you want it to do. That is why this disc is in almost every bag.

I have a 180g first run Paul McBeth ESP Buzzz and it's the first disc I've owned from Discraft. I am interested in more discs from Discraft because I love this disc! I really like the feel of rim and the ESP plastic. It is firm and grippy and durable, which is everything I want in a plastic for mids. In fact, I nailed a tree like 30 feet off the pad and it broke some bark off the tree but the disc was fine! The top is fairly flat, the rim is comfortable and average depth, not shallow and not super deep. I've heard that these newer runs of McBeth Buzzzes are more overstable than older runs, but unfortunately I can't speak to that since this is the first Buzzz I've thrown. The thing that surprised me the most is the power it can handle. I took it out to the field to test and at 90-95% power it flew great for me and was very reliable. I only throw about 350' but I know McBeth said even he's throwing these flat and they're not flipping up much for him. If I throw it flat it goes super straight and then fades out at the end. If I throw it on a hyzer angle it holds it very well. I'm not super great at anhyzers but this disc will hold it about 70% of the flight and then fight out- it's still new, so I'm curious to see how that changes as the disc gets more beat in.

There's not much to say about this disc that hasn't been said already. It's an incredibly balanced midrange that can do a ton of things extremely well. My buzzz is about 170 grams and is about as straight as I can ask a disc to be. The thing that I love most about this disc is that it covers a multitude of midrange duties. The combination of speed and glide on this disc allow you to throw it for touchy midrange shots that you need to control distance with, or power up on it for a long straight shot. It almost rivals the distance of a fairway driver. My only complaint is that I have big hands and it doesn't quite fill my hand the way that I like my midranges to, so I don't keep one in my bag, but this is a phenomenal midrange disc. Its famous for a reason.

I love my Buzzz! I have it in ESP FLX (out of production now) but I love the feel of it. It's great in cold weather and I wish they could continue to make this plastic. I also got a McBeth Buzzz which is slightly more overstable but still feels great in hand. ESP plastic is very grippy and the disc holds any line that I throw it on, hyzer, anny or flat. I would recommend this disc to any skill level.

What can be said about a Buzzz that hasn't already be said? This is a go=to for a lot of shots. Straight and predictable. I have a lighter one in ESP plastic (as well as 3 others in different plastics and weights). I like the grippy plastic with this disc. I use it when I don't need as much distance as my other midranges. I like how I can shape shots with it. Buzzz's do their thing and they do it well.

I know everyone seems to love this disc, but to me it was not comfortable at all to throw. It didn't sit very well in my hand. As a consequence the release was not clean at any point and therefor the flight was never great.

This is a great midrange for anyone. For the beginner it will have a nice fade but still get good distance. It is a good midrange to learn how to throw "correctly" as it is easy to use. Learn to throw it flat and your game will thank you.

For an advanced player this disc will be straight and hold any line that you put it on.

This is one of Discscraft's flagship mids because it is so easy to use.

I wanted a completely straight mid and this is it.  The ESP plastic is the grippiest of the Discraft lineup plastic but still slicker than I'd prefer.  I bought a 167-168 and a 174-175 and both have very similar flights.  The 167 has a .5 fade and the mid 170s is the 1 fade.  Neither have any turn, just hold a long straight line.

    The buzzz...it does buzzz things.

What are buzzz things, exactly? Well, that's whatever you want it to. Want it to hold a hyzer? Sure! Want it Lazer straight? Sure! Want an anhyzer? Sure! The buzzz just does what you want based upon your angle of release.

Thrown flat and hard, I get a few degrees of turn out of it and it then fades back just to the right (LHBH) every time. Discrafts .5 flight rating is spot on with this. It nets a remarkably straight flight. It is perfect for tight wooded shots.

It's a highly touted disc for a reason. Get yourself one!

This was the first Mid disc I ever threw. It has been in by bag ever since. I have come to trust the Buzzz. Once it leaves my hand I know where it will land. Even if it is a bad throw I can tell where it will go. It is that reliable. No other disc I have is this reliable. I can throw other mids farther or place them better, but not as consistently. Consistency is the name of the game. I almost always let players new to disc golf throw my Buzzz, especially if they are struggling with their own disc. They improve almost every time.

What can be said about this disc that hasn't already been said??  My buzz is 176 and is made of some variant of the Z plastic--not really sure which since it was a tournament disc.

For the past 2 years I have thrown pretty much exclusively roc3's.  I was holding out on the Buzzz and Discraft in general because I grew up throwing Innova.  I since have switched most of my midranges to Discraft molds like the Buzzz, Buzzz OS, and the Meteor and haven't looked back.

The buzzz excels at all sorts of shot shaping.  Tight tunnels are no problem--just put a touch of hyzer and watch it pop up and land flat. Give it more hyzer and it will go straight and finish left (RHBH), or give it less hyzer and it will finish right. Throw it on anhyzer with some power and it will hold a very smooth and consistent turn but never flip and roll. Essentially, this disc will do whatever you want it to do inside of 320'--provided that you have good form and throw it correctly.

On shorter, more technical courses I end up throwing most of my shots with my (1) orange buzzz.  I carry about 25 discs, and yet every time I play I grab the buzzz for 10 or so of the 18 drives.  That to me is the ultimate indicator of a great disc.

After using a Comet as my go-to midrange disc for the first few years, I switched to a Buzz and have loved it. Both are great, steady midrange discs, but the Buzz is now my disc of choice when I have a short, straight shot that I can't afford to have go astray. It's about as predictable as they come, always keeping a flight path based on your release. I use it for my straight shots-- nothing fancy.  Sometimes you don't need a gimick...you just want a disc that gets you there. I use it for shots more in the 150-200 ft. range.

The buzzz was the first disc I really loved. It was the first disc that I could throw dead straight whenever I wanted to. I had a Z buzzz that I could do anything with. Anhyzer, hyzer, straight, the buzzz does it all. I lost my Z buzzz and picked up an X and an ESP. I used both of these for a long time until I found a different midrange that kicked the buzzz out of my bag (roc). Even though I switched to rocs, I still love the buzzz and so do thousands of other disc golfers.

Hype is strong with the Buzzz, and to be fair, I haven't thrown more than three different Buzzz's in my time, but here are my thoughts:

Useful for throwing straight lazers that have a reliable finish to the left.

    Other uses: None.

Personally, I don't find it to be very versatile.  It flies nice enough on a hyzer throw too, but I'd rather do that and other things with more versatile speed 4-6 discs in my bag like a Discraft Comet and an Innova Leopard (a disc everyone should try).  I just haven't seen a lot of wizards make the Buzzz turn nicely to the right.

I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way!

I really like the Buzzz.  Brand new, it will fly with a nice S curve and will even flex out of a soft Anyhzer.  After a while, it turns and dives on full throws but works perfectly for those straight upshots.  I was using my Buzzz until my Roc3 breaks in more, but I'm beginning to convert to a Buzzz fan.  I find it to be very consistent and holds almost any line you give it.

This disc will hold any line you throw. Not to mention, it's forgiving enough to correct slight mistakes. You can drive with it, approach with it and even putt with it (sometimes I like it better than my putters). Great control; great glide. I highly recommend this disc to ANY level of players. A beginner can pick this disc up and be just as happy with it as a seasoned veteran. So, scroll up to the top of this page, add a Buzzz, or two to your cart and make the purchase. I guess I can add to all of the Buzzz praise; I really like this disc. I have mine in the ESP plastic and it is maybe a touch more stable than I was expecting. Absolutely solid all around mid range disc though, can be shaped for all of the shots. But... and I might be the only one on the planet to feel this way, I actually prefer my Buzzz SS. I get a little better distance with the SS, and I have that disc absolutely dialed in. Certainly not a diss to the Buzzz, more so just shameless plugging for the underrated Buzzz SS.

I have and esp buzzz and a z buzzz. my first ace was with the z buzzz, but that isn't why i like it. I like it because I can rip it and know it will fly straight and fade left at the end. (I'm not so good that I can get it to fly straight the full distance) at distances up to 200 feet, I can really control the flight of this disc. In my experience the esp is a bit more understable or like a buzzz ss than the z buzzz. it's just one of the most predictable discs out there.. highly recommend it.
