I really like the Wraith for distance shots when facing a headwind or that definitely need to end left. I don't have a huge arm or hands so higher speed discs don't seem to get me anything more, and the rim is still very confortable to hold.
I have this disc in Star and Pro plastics.
The Pro discs are reliably domey in my experience, have tons of glide, and beat in quickly.
Star discs have some inconsistency in how they mold up. I have some that are board flat and some with expected dome. I like the ones with dome better.

This is one of the best distance drivers out there.  Once you get the form down and build up some arm speed, you will definitely want one of these in your bag!  It is definitely over stable to start, but mine is beat in to where it flips up now.  Dx plastic is beginner friendly.

For my 350 ish noodle arm, GStar is a perfect flippy bomber out of box. Also carry a mildly seasoned Star and maybe a Halo for wind and you'll be good to go. Iconic mold

What is not to love about this disc? I really like that it has a nice push with a reliable fade. The Star plastic feels great and the stamp Infinite put on there is sick! I would recommend this mold to beginner to intermediate players looking to move into throwing more highspeed drivers. 5 stars! I liked it far better than that tree-hunting Destroyer I had that one time.

This was able to fly the exact flight numbers, but quickly wasn't as stable and was more of a straight flight, great push then a nice fade. Recommend for everyone as the driver everyone needs.

I have a star Wraith that is beaten and is quite stable (almost a bit under stable). At full power or into a headwind in will hold a long turn- which is handy for long dog leg left fairways (RHBH) distances around 400ft). At lower power it will reliably fade gently at the end. I also find that it does a very straight hyzer flip (RHFH) if thrown flat with good power.  In comparison to my destroyer it is much less stable- most probably due to the beating it has taken.

Of the various distance drivers I have tried this is the only disc above a ten speed in my bag. I have tried several different distance drivers as I started my disc golf journey (probably much too early). The only one that I have kept is the wraith. I have two, a new one and one that I have had for 18 months. The new one flys with 0 turn and the 3 fade and doesn't stay as long in the air. The beat in one I can get some turn on. I only pull this out on wide open holes as I lack the arm speed and control for tunnel shots with it but on the wide open shots it is the first disc I reach for.

166 gram Innova Wraith Star plastic. I found this disc with no contact information on it and it is slightly beat in but still overstable. As a beginner, with only about 360 feet of max distance, I didn't think I would be able to throw the Wraith effectively. But I was pleasantly surprised when I found this disc. The light weight and a little wear and tear actually make this disc manageable, although I still haven't thrown it farther than 340 feet, but I also don't measure most of my throws. It turns a little but I've only got the full -1 turn when throwing into a slight head wind. The 3 fade is consistent and accurate. I mostly throw this disc when doing field work but occasionally get a good opportunity to throw it in a round. Not everyone will be lucky enough to find one but if you're thinking about giving the Wraith a try but not sure if you have the power, go for it. Get a lighter weight than you normally throw and you might be surprised what you can do with it.

The Wraith is an excellent 11 speed distance driver, one of Innova's stand-out discs.  It's pretty close in both feel and flight to a Destroyer, but is generally less overstable so a little more manageable for most players.  I find the 11 speed rim very comfortable for both backhands and forehands.  My star Wraith (170g) has some nice turn out of the box, it's a hyzer-flip machine.  Very useful for shots where I need good distance but also control, as when thrown well I get a pretty straight shot that doesn't finish with too much of a skip.  Good for trying to land in the center of the fiarway on those 340-380 ft drives.

This disc has a good amount of stability but generally not enough to fight out of a big anhyzer flex shot.  I would disc up to a more overstable 12 speed for that type of shot.  I don't think beginners need to be throwing an 11 speed but this disc is great for both intermediate and advanced players.  These discs can really bomb if you get the right distance line.

It beat in way too fast. The 149g Star Wraith I picked up a couple months ago is now extremely understable. I stopped using it and gave it to a friend who just took up the game and can only throw 150-200ft. When thrown at midrange speeds it turns over and rolls. When thrown at driver speeds it flips all the way over and lands on its top. I'm pretty disappointed with the longevity of the bubbly Star plastic and will avoid it in the future. I have had better luck with max weight Star discs, but I've been leaning toward Champion more and more for its durability.

This a a great distance driver that allowed for more control than the popular destroyer. These are also less stable than the destroyer. My max distance is a touch more than 500 but a consistent 460. I use these for nice hyzer flips to turn and long turning distance shots 430- 500. These don't go quite as far as my destroyers but I really like the control I get. The destroyer will like to go left a little harder and skip a little more at the end of the flight. Overall a great controllable distance driver that will continue to be a staple in bag along with the destroyer.

I happened to find one of these on the course when I was a beginner, and even after eventually losing that one it's been a staple for me. It took a bit of experience before I was getting good, consistent flights out of it, but it's probably the disc I've thrown the most overall. It's my go-to for any long/mid-long tee shots (which make up most of the courses around me) and the star plastic hold up great even after dozens of high-speed tree impacts. I've been using the same one for a couple years and I still get predictable distance out of it even in the wind if I adjust my speed a bit

This thing glides for days! I picked up a 149g Wraith on sale and without much effort sent it slightly downhill 522 feet on my first ever throw with it. Stuck it 8 feet from the pin and tapped in for birdie.

I haven't played with it a lot yet or beaten it in, but it definitely seems more forgiving than a Destroyer. It will flip over and roll if I really crank on it, but with a little bit of hyzer and a smooth release it gives such effortless distance.

Pretending you can throw like Calvin Heimburg will only rob you of distance with early fade. Start with a Wraith unless you know you can throw perfectly placed, nose down, FAST shots. It's fun to break out a Destroyer or Nuke and feel manly, but they are so much less controllable than a 10 or 11 speed, with not a lot of extra distance for the sacrifice

Not much else to say really, its a legend for a reason. Not for beginners but easier to throw than something like a Destroyer.

The Wraith is an amazing disc for any player. It is a great option for newer players looking to branch out and try distance drivers as it has less stability than destroyer type discs and as an 11 speed is less susceptible to nose up shots. Advanced players will see the wraith as a great max distance driver that can be easily hyzer flipped. Available in a variety of plastics (halo, Star, champion, pro) the wraith can fill all of the overstable/stable/understable slots in an intermediate players bag.

This may be the perfect distance driver. A new wraith is pretty overstable, and will then beat in to be a straight flying or even turnover disc. I bag a star for the first slot, and a GStar for the second slot. A Wraith on forehand also works great. If I have a really windy day, I will opt for a Destroyer as it will be more stable for me, but for my armspeed, the Wraith is a much better option. There are other similar discs that may do some things better, but nothing I have thrown is such a jack-of-all-trades distance driver.

I bought the Star Wraith when I started to dip my toes into distance drivers. Once beat in this disc does nothing but fly straight forever. Released on a slight hyzer, I can flip this up to flat and it glides straight with a slight fade at the end of the flight. It started out a bit beefy but became more understable quickly. I don't find that the fade is as severe as the flight numbers indicate, but you can expect a decent amount of left movement (RHBH throw) if you need something to hyzer out reliably.

This was my favorite distance driver for the longest time.

It doesnt require a huge armspeed, and can be very technical in the woods.  Backahnd or forehand, this disc is reliable.  Distance or control, itc an do it all.  I prefer Star myself, and my cousin swears by his champion.

Light weights are money hyzer flips, and the max weights can do flex shots fairly well. I upgraded to teh emperor once my distance and armspeed improved.  I highly recommend this disc to all players of all skill levels.

I've thrown wraiths on and off since I was relatively new to disc golf and now that I've been playing for a few years.

For brand new players, the wraith might be too fast for you, but once you get a feel for controlling nose angle and generating more power, the wraith can easily be a big distance disc or a nice hyzer flip driver.

Now that I am able to throw further, I use the wraith for when I want to get easy, controllable hyzer flips. It's really great for woods courses that demand tighter lines. It isn't as great for windy, open courses. I have a star wraith which is moderately flippy brand new, and a halo wraith which is very straight with a decently overstable finish.

I like the wraith for forehands since my forehand is slower than my backhand. I can focus more on just hitting the angles right and not worry so much about power.

I'm not sure if my disc was fairly beat in when I received it (from a friend), but I feel like it has more turn than I would expect and more fade after that. It makes for an interesting flight for sure. I definitely prefer my streamline trace. It has a straighter flight path. It won't turn over very much, but has consistent fade nonetheless. I like the wraith, and I imagine a new one would be better suited to my taste. Great disc overall and a lot of people swear by it. Not my personal favorite, but that's just my personal opinion.

I had a couple Waves that were my top 2 discs for a couple seasons, but one got a bit too understable, and the heavier, more reliable one ended up missing somehow last fall, so I've tried a variety of discs to find good replacements for them. So far, the Star Wraith has been my de facto replacement for my missing disc, having the most similar flight path: It's a bit heavier and more stable than the other, but consistently gives me a good long, straight drive with predictable fade (and skip, when desired) -- helpful for getting around those late guardian trees & other obstacles, and ensuring that the disc doesn't veer off right instead (or too far), particularly when you have to navigate narrow fairways. I also like the feel and durability of the Star plastic. Probably a majority of my most-used discs are in this general type of plastic (i.e., with name variations by brand).

I have two star wraiths and both started off at pretty much the same stability. Neither started off as overstable as you would think based off of the flight numbers. to start I would say maybe -1/2 for turn and fade. New when thrown flat it will drift a little bit right (RHBH) before having some fade at the end. Now that one is beat in a little bit more it is a max distance driver. I can put it on a little bit of hyzer and it will flip up and ride a little bit to right before fading out at the end. This is my second farthest flying disc behind my beat in destroyer.

On forehand out of the box a star wraith is a hyzer flip machine. Put it on hyzer and it flips up perfectly and glides forever. It is not my max distance forehand disc but it is the most consistent distance forehand disc for me.

Overall, the star wraith is the perfect max distance driver for intermediate players. It is less stable a little slower than a destroyer so it is the perfect distance driver for players who throw in the 350-375 foot range.

The wraith is my favorite distance driver by far. Most people compare it to a destroyer with a smaller rim and overall circumference. In my opinion, it's just a super easy disc to throw far. I started out with it in DX plastic and it was always a super reliable driver that I could get just a little turn out of and a nice strong fade at the end. On flat I can get it about 350-400. Once beat in, this mold in DX becomes amazing for hyzer flips and turnovers. You could easily get 500ft out of it if you hit the sweet spot on a hyzer flip. This mold in star plastic offers a nice flight that isn't too over stable for beginners. All in all, a super good disc for long straight drives, not too intimidating for a beginner because of the smaller rim and relatively low speed for a distance driver. If you're new to higher speed discs and want something simple and versatile, this is the disc for you.

In Star plastic this was a great step up disc for me and something I'd recommend to try when you need more confidence in your FH driver. My FH form and technique needed work but it was hard for me to find the right disc that could help cover up flaws while getting some excellent distance and predictability. Who wants to practice a shot in play among friends when it counts? I was forcing BH turnovers when a FH hyzer was the more intuitive shot. Having only BH would wear my arm down with repetitive max power attempts that I would throw lighter discs for round 2's and sometimes back 9's. Having the FH shot with the Wraith has alleviated that, freeing up bag space on understable discs and requiring more OS for FH hyzers.
My max weight is for my FH which gives me great glide, with predictable turn to great fade finish. If my arm is healthy, I have a 163 gram star wraith that I throw BH  flat and get a good turn to great fade flights. My Blizzard 150 gram is 11/6/-2/2, which I'll throw if my arm is tired and sore on BH.
IMO Wraith > Destroyor, all day.

All the control of a 9-speed with the distance of a 12 or 13 speed. What's not to love? Side by side with faster discs, I've found maybe a 10-15ft difference, and the Wraith feels much more comfortable in the hand for me. They forehand, backhand, roll, and come in every plastic Innova makes. A nearly perfect disc in my opinion!

They start out overstable, but over time they beat it to become a nice straight flying driver. Beginners and intermediate players can get a lot more control out of this disc than with a destroyer. I would recommend this disc to anyone who is looking to fill their main driver slot. Everything you've heard about this disc is true. Even for a slower arm speed this disc fills the slot that a destroyer may fill for the top level arms. It's a reliable overstable disc but a full flight seems much more possible with this disc rather than a destroyer for me. When thrown with hyzer I can usually get it to flip to flat and ride before finishing reliably today the left on a right hand backhand. When thrown flat, I can get it to go through a full flight that gets some turn before finishing left. Anhyzers will see a long pan before fighting out of it and finishing with stability. I love throwing forehands with this disc too because I can get my max distance with this. This is a definite bomber for me and I enjoy this disc very much, especially in the star plastic.

The (star 164g) Wraith is currently my favorite distance driver. I'm lucky to break 315 feet on my max distance shots, and I have to echo the folks who say this is like a more accessible Destroyer. I'm really maxed out with the 11 speed, (and you could argue it's still a bit too fast for me) but I can get a great flight out of this disc.

I recently bought a Champion Wraith of the same weight to have a slightly more overstable version of the disc, and it's the first time I'm bagging two of the same mold. I would recommend it as a distance driver once you get into that beginner+ (recreational) category.

The Wraith is a go to driver for me when I'm looking for distance and control.  Though I've had mine for several years, it retains its stability and shows now signs of slowing down.  Released with just a touch of anhyzer it will ride out a ways before flipping up.  Not my max distance disc, but probably the best overlap of control and distance that I have in my bag.

The Wraith is a fantastic workhorse distance driver. This disc is too fast for beginners, but for intermediate players looking to break 350+ feet and make their foray into max distance drivers, the Wraith is a great choice. Equally useful both forehand and backhand. The rim feels nice in the hand, it's not as wide as the 12+ speed drivers which I think makes it easier to rip on, especially for smaller hands. As others have pointed out, the Wraith is like the Am version of the Destroyer. It allow amateur players to throw the lines you see the pros throw with the Destroyer - controlled max distance with some turn and dependable fade. Most Ams would probably benefit from throwing a Wraith vs a Destroyer. That's not to say a Wraith is just a Destroyer Jr. - many pros throw both, such as Garret Gurthie and Nathan Queen. Intermediate through Advanced can benefit from this disc.

One potential con to this disc is a problem it shares with the Destroyer (and many other Innova molds, though it seems to be more prevalent in distance drivers) - run to run, plastic to plastic, the shape and performance of this disc can vary fairly significantly. Some are domey, some are flat. Some are meathooks, some are flippy out of the box. This is the double edge sword of Innova - on the one hand, if you lose your favorite disc it can make finding an exact replacement that feels and flies like it a pain. On the other hand, it can allow you to minimize the number of molds you carry by allowing you to cover a variety of distance lines with the same mold in different plastics/stabilities. I prefer to take the optimistic side of this dilemma with the Wraith (although I am also addicted to buying plastic and gives me the excuse to buy new Wraiths all the time because "maybe this one will fly differently"), it is the only distance driver mold I bag. The Wraith is an easy mold to do this with because it comes in virtually every plastic and weight Innova runs - Blizzard, Pro, Star, you name it. I would say in general, Star is the sweet spot for Wraiths, and most true to the numbers out of the box.

I have two Stars (one bottom stamp), a Glow Champion, and a Color Glow Champion. The Glow Champ is the most overstable with not much turn and the 3 fade. My bottom stamp Star is the most true to numbers, although it started out a bit more stable. My purple Star is my biggest distance driver, an out-of-the-box bomber that has a decent amount of turn followed by a healthy, forward pushing fade that allows for big S lines. My Color Glow Champ is also my lightest weight (169 g) and my most understable - it has a good amount of turn and only a gentle end of flight fade. I am primarily RHBH, but I will throw these forehand on occasion. They're perfectly suited for FH dominant players as well. These are my farthest flying discs and they're reliable - a great combination. It kicked my Destroyers out of my bag, as well as less reliable, more understable distance-seeking discs that didn't fly any farther anyway (Shrykes and Pharaohs). A true workhorse distance driver mold that will always have a few slots in my bag.

The Wraith is hands down one of the best distance drivers in the Innova line up. The Wraith has one of the most consistent flight patterns and is a pretty dead straight flyer when it comes to the driver world. This disc is perfect for new-ish players that have already built up enough arm speed and release stability from mids, to fairway drivers, and now ready to move on up to distance drivers. This disc will pretty much fly how you throw it. Throw it on a hisser and it will hold it. Throw it on a slight anny for a nice long and straight flex line especially for maximum distance. The Wraith is a distance driver that I will ALWAYS bag for years to come because of the piece of mind I have when this disc comes out of my hand. It always is true and reliable. The Wraith will definitely deliver and will not disappoint! Try it out and see the hype for yourself;)

I love the Wraith! But my love affair as a beginner was love-hate. I don't think the Wraith is very beginner friendly. I tended to grip lock it a lot when I first got one. Now, I am totally enamored with the mold. It is a consistent straight flyer. It can fight winds. I am not a forehand player, but I do use the wraith for forehands and tomahawks to get out of trouble.

There is a reason that this is one of the most popular distance drivers ever made. For an intermediate player with decent power this disc flys long and straight with a reliable fade. It is very easy to control and trust the fade to take over at the end. The hand feel of the wraith is perfect. Just the right time width and depth. My star wraith is a top 3 favorite disc. Get one and you won't be disappointed.

Out of the box this disc might act a little over stable, but that quickly fades and the disc turns into a straight bomber that has a great predictable fade in star plastic. Love this disc in star plastic. I also own a beat up g star wraith that acts great as a hyzer flip disc/roller disc. This disc can also be used for big anhyzer shots that help me cope with the fact that my forehand is bad.

One of my favorite distance drivers out of the dozens that I've thrown over the years. It is forgiving for players who don't have as fast of an arm speed as most pros, where as other popular distance drivers like the destroyer are much harder to shape long distance lines with. The wraith is nice and smooth, and accurate, backhand as well as forehand. It is my current distance driver of choice because even brand new it is quite workable, unlike the faster discs that I tried recently but just couldn't throw quite as well. I wanted to throw 12 speed discs and higher, but after it not working well, and remembering Ken Climo saying that he could roll a wraith up to 600 feet, I knew that the wraith was worthy as a distance driver...

This is the Destroyers younger sibling. So if you want a want Destroyer, but don't have the arm yet.. The Wraith might just be for you! In Star Plastic The Wraith is the definitely a stable to overstable distance driver, but for weaker backhands like mine is much more approachable than the Destroyer.

Disc: 171g, 168g Star Wraith, 171g Champion Wraith, 169g Pro Wraith

Feel: Great, feels almost exactly like a more "accessible" Destroyer. (or vice versa since the Wraith came first) Nice pop tops and a thick but "wrappable" rim. The Stars come perfect, the Champions are either too domed or too flat, I have only ever got flat-pros. I normally like Pro plastic, but it just doesn't perform in this mold.

Flight: Backhand, probably the most versatile and accessible big distance driver around. Immediately when I threw this it blew away the Destroyers that I had for my arm speed. Out of the box, they will normally be able to fight the wind, as it beats in you will get an enormous full flight out of your trusty Wraith. Then when your arm matures you will have super flippy pure distance discs that kick out the Terns and Shrykes of your bag. Forehand, great but if you have a good dome on it your fingers will roll in. The champion plastic is my favorite to forehand as they tend to always "pan-out" and land flat.

Conclusion: If you are just an amateur player looking for your "big distance" disc, and you can get your Valkyrie to turn over, pick this disc up, you will not be sorry! (4/4)

PS: If you haven't seen @JustDiscJD's review, go see it. It is what convinced me to 100% change my game.

I've been throwing star destroyers since probably 2009. It's the best disc ever made. Wish I could give it 10 stars. Easy, controllable distance. That's all their really is too it. Of course innova can be inconsistent as hell, so finding one that really suits you can be tough. Finding the perfect wraith. Everyone needs one in their bag. If you don't have one in your bag, you're wrong.

I would give the wraith a 5 the only thing stopping me is it can be a bit inconsistent. Over all it is a great disc for any intermediate to advanced player with the arm speed to throw it. I love the disc for similar distance to my destroyer with a little bit more control. For anyone who is throwing destroyers I would suggest getting a Wraith and trying one out. Like I said earlier they can be a little inconsistent the same plastic can have different stability. I would suggest getting a good plastic my bottom stamp is great and has held its stability while both of my pro plastic have become more under stable, my champion is right about in the middle of them. If you are getting the arm speed to throw distance drivers forehand or backhand pick up a wraith!

The Wraith is what you want your Destroyer to be.

Professionals throw much better and further than we mortals do. They can get crazy turn and distance out of the highest speed discs. We, on the other hand, cannot. If you find your Destroyers being too overstable, try a Wraith. It will start off as a beginner's overstable driver and mold into a true workhorse.

As many places as I see this disc for sale, I would have thought it was a workhorse, broadly usable by players of varying skill levels.  The other reviews certainly seem to support this.  I did not find this to be the case, however.

I'm an intermediate player, with an intermediate throw (mostly RHBH).  I found this disc to be more overstable, with less speed and less glide than it was rated for.  Basically, this wants to fade off left fairly early on, and just goes harder and harder left from there.  I use it for this purpose, and it suits me well enough, but I had hoped to use it for longer and less specialized shots than carving around a tree at fairway distances.

I will say, that I am a very big fan of the Star plastic in this mold.  I've had several Star discs, and I feel like they're grippier than they're rated for.  This particular disc can also skip *forever,* continuing it's hard left fade as it does so.  I've had throws where a good 40% of the distance came after the disc touched the ground.  It just ticks off of the ground, glides for another 20 or 30 feet, and does it again, and again.

I don't have the most powerful arm in the world, but discs with similar ratings fly farther and straighter for me.  Having an overstable disc is useful, but this one is pretty niche for my arm.  Players with a more powerful throw will probably find it to be a great asset, but it's too overstable for regular use for me.

I cannot overstate how amazing the Wraith is. It's a workable Destroyer. Depending on the weight and stability, it can be your go-to distance disc, your overstable headwind driver, or your understable bomber. I own a handful of Wraiths and I am impressed every time I use it. A must have for all skill levels!!

    171g Star Plastic

Basically if you want a Destroyer, but want something much easier to throw, pick up a Wraith. I have found this to be much easier to throw when compared to my Destroyers, thus making it more accurate and reliable while also edging them out in the distance category. I own three, two in Star plastic and one in Halo Star. The Halo Star is definitely beefier, making it much more overstable and able to cut through windy conditions while my Stars have become my reliable saviors. The Wraith also has a less thick rim compared to the Destroyer making it even easier to throw if you have smaller hands like me.

The Destroyer has been replicated by nearly every manufacturer, but only Innova has been able to make it even better with the Wraith.

Review is based on Star Wraiths: I also bag a metalflake (MF) Wraith at all times, but they're harder to find.

Bottom Line: Every player should have Wraith in their bag. Its one of the best molds ever made. Every company has their version of the Wraith, but they aren't as good honestly.

The Wraith is a superb distance driver just under the Destroyer. Wraiths make beautiful long flex lines, and are great for that 400ft area of shots. Thats not saying that it can't be used if you aren't throwing over 400ft. It would just be more of a hyzer disc. Its also great in MF plastic. All of my MF's are and have been flatter and more OS. They will still make a flex line for me, but I can use them for long flat shots better than a regular star Wraith would. The halo Wraith is a little newer plastic, first released 2020ish. The halo Wraiths are definitely more like a Destroyer in stability, but they have more glide. Once you get the halo Wraiths broken in they're like a pumped up metalflake. Highly recommend them as well.

Wraiths are not for beginners, but work much better than a Destroyer would for a first distance driver.

Similar Discs: CD3, Surge, Longhorn, Trace. I rated a full 5 Stars because although they have come close, nobody has quite topped the Wraith as the 11,5,-1,3(or2) driver. Whereas, every company has a great version of the 12,5,-1,3 driver.

Notable Pro Use: Nathan Queen, Ricky Wysocki, Jen Allen, Madison Walker (her signature Wraith with the lionfish is maybe the best Wraith ever made), and just about anyone else to ever bag Innova.

The Wraith is the go to distant driver needed for anyone looking to increase their distance. Its very easy to learn to throw. I started with DX plastic, then star and champion. The DX plastic is the best plastic for beginners. DX is much more stable than Star or Champion. Once you learn good control with faster arm speeds Champion is the way to go. Start plastic to me is a bit more overstable.

I think the wraith may just be the best distance driver ever made. I know that's a bold claim given all the great discs that exist, but I really do believe it. The wraith will be for most people what the destroyer is for pros. Out of the box, the wraith flies very straight with a slight finish at the end, then it beats in to a monster hyzer flip disc.

I bag two right now, one is pretty much brand new max weight and I have a 163 gram. The two of them together cover almost every distance driver shot I could possibly need. The new one goes straight and fades while the light one is pretty understable. They both give me some of the best distance I've ever had in a driver both forehand and backhand.

Overall, if you are looking for a new distance driver do yourself a favor and pick up a wraith.

I love the Wraith a lot. Being a more advanced player, this disc is very understable and I often use this for big turnovers, straight distance drives, and rollers. This disc is fast and glidy. This disc is great for players of all sorts of levels, but would be used for different kinds of flights. I use this disc for shots that are around 425'-500' or for tight glide shots in the woods where I don't want to throw it hard but still have it flip up a little and glide. I recomend this disc a lot for players of different levels.

The DX wraith was the first disc I? ever bought and it is still a staple in my bag to this day. I? currently choose the star plastic as it is more durable and the disc flies a little more stable. I? find the numbers on the wraith to be very accurate. It's not as overstable as a destroyer and is definitely a more workable disc overall.
The wraith has tons of glide and will stay in the air for forever if you hit it right. It may be a little overstable for someone who's new to the game but it's a great option as a first distance driver for someone with a little more experience. I? also find that the wraith works great for my sidearms. I? have less power with my sidearms and I'm able to get more of a full flight out of the wraith, and it won't hyzer out on me as quickly as a faster disc will.
Another thing I've noticed about the wraith is consistency in runs. The wraith seems to be a little more consistent than innovas flagship driver the destroyer. It tends to have a more uniform and reliable flight path through different runs. Destroyers can be pretty flippy or extremely overstable depending on the one you get. Due to this consistency in runs the wraith is a great disc to layer in your bag as you beat them in. Overall I? give The wraith 5 stars!

Everything that's been said about this disc is true. I will use my review to reiterate how forgiving this disc is even if your arm speed can't quite hit 11.  I throw RHFH, and shouldn't be throwing more than a 10 speed at the moment...but after losing my Orc recently (which I loved), I though I'd give this a try because the Orc was out of stock.

IT ALL WORKED OUT FOR THE BETTER - the mold is actually more comfortable than the Orc, and I can get the same line out of it somehow. Flies very true to its numbers.

Amazing Driver. Easier to use for a beginner than a Destroyer.

I have three of these in my bag. I have a DX, Star 155g, and a GStar.

My favorite is the Star Wraith, and that is the one I am reviewing here. While the Wraith definitely is stable, it is much, much easier to control the turn with this disc (especially lighter weights) than it is for the Destroyer. The vast majority of my bomb drives where I have stood back and watched it turn and just fly longer than I would expect have been with my Star Wraith. This disc is fantastic, and it is much easier to use this driver than a faster speed stable driver.

Such a classic. I love my wraiths! I always carry a star one and a DX or Pro as an US compliment. I always try and get wraiths that are pretty domey and can glide for a LONG time. You do need to be ready to work with the OS finish at first, but after some seasoning they will fly straight and finish nicely. I think this is one of the best discs if you're looking for a true distance driver, as in above 9-speed. Pick one up and practice with it, I anticipate you loving it just as much as me.

I have two Wraiths, both Star Plastic. One is 169g the other max weight.

There isn't much for me to say about the max weight. It's relatively straight, and has a respectable fade at the end, and is more resistant to turn than I expected. I don't throw it much, because I can get more out of my 169 and if I need more than that I usually disc up to a Destroyer.

The 169 is what really shines for my style and skill level. The two discs I have almost don't even seem like the same mold. The 169 is my go to driver, I can push it out to 340-350. The lighter disc being slightly more understable will tend to take a more unstable line, IE when I throw it on a hyzer it stands up and rides out straight before finishing, if I throw it out flat it will start a gentle turn then come back and finish left, but if I try to put it on an anny it will turn and burn which can be a bit of a problem (lost a favorite disc to a misrelease that way). This disc can take care of the majority of my driving needs, open field bombs, straight tunnel shots, s-shots, hyzers (when thrown at 50-70%). I can't say enough good things about this disc. If you're an above average player with a cannon of an arm you'd probably like something with a little more speed and stability, but for an average guy (not a noodle arm, not a cannon) this disc is absolute money.

I've been a Wraith guy since I started throwing 'distance' drivers. I own plenty of Destroyers, and I just end up going back to only bagging wraiths every time I try to throw them again. Admittedly, just like lots of molds it can be slightly inconsistent. However, weight to weight they generally fly the same. I have some wraiths that are over 10 years old, I have some brand spankin' new ones, and they still generally fly like a wraith. I have some pop tops, i have some gummy ones, and they're all great discs. I think that sweet spot is in the 169-172 range. The thing is, as much as I see Destroyers in peoples bags, Wraiths are viable as that 'main' driver for anyone with under 450' of power imo. Some of them can be very overstable, just like destroyers. But they're generally more workable off the shelf, and they are just so controllable. Oddly, my most OS Wraith is a bottom stamped 165g that just doesn't flip up at all. But there are such a variety of plastics and it's such a comfortable, controllable, and far flying disc that it's hard not to just recommend it to most golfers.

Just bought a couple wraiths from infinite discs and let me tell you the color of the plastic made a huge difference for me on this one. I bought a white 175 gram infinite bomber stamp wraith and a blue bottom stamp 175 gram wraith both in the star plastic. I was expecting the blue bottom stamp to be extremely overstable as the destroyer and the boss are often overstable when they have that bottom stamp but its actually the opposite the blue bottom stamp is kinda flippy which isn't a bad thing but kinda disappointing but on the other hand the white infinite stamp is very stable which ended up being perfect for me thank goodness i bought 2! I had heard that the colors yellow and pink were more overstable and I believe it now (I assume the white color is similar to the yellow and pink) but overall I love the wraith especially since I can't quite get the speed necessary to get a destroyer to turn while doing a hyzer flip. Hopefully this helps someone.

This disc is a staple of my bag and my go-to driver off the tee for 99.99% of shots. It feels good in the hand for both backhand and forehand. With a flat release, maybe with a tad anhyzer, the Wraith will have the most beautiful S-curve you've ever seen. Same goes for a flick. There's a reason that Ken Climo has like, 6 of these in his bag. Your game is lacking if you don't have a Wraith.

Beginners Review - If the Destroyer flies straight for you then the Wraith will give you the slightest bit of turn and it's AWESOME! Basically a slower Destroyer so if you use it the right way then it will definitely find a way into your bag.

The Wraith was one of the first drivers I could throw successfully. For beginners, it holds a hyzer line for good distances and has a comfy grip as far as drivers go. But my favorite throw with the Wraith is a flex line that basically lands a few hundred feet straight in front of the tee. So for fairways that are too long for my Teebird, especially with a headwind, I reach for the Wraith.

An excellent driver for all. Not the most overstable driver, but definitely not understable. I use a star destroyer often, sure. But when I need slightly more distance or a straight flying forehand I'm pulling 1 of these out. Newer discs are fun, but don't count this smooth flyer out if u haven't tried 1.

I throw a Star Wraith for both forehands and back hands. When backhanded correctly it will fly straight for about 360 feet and then fade out left slightly. when forehanded it flies slightly more overstable but it doesnt require much of an arm and can be forehanded around 350 feet. This is over all my favorite disc and it can be used for almost anything you need it for. I keep three in my bag, i recomend this disc highly and cant imagine playing a round without it.

A while back, I got a max weight swirly lavender star Wraith for Christmas. I originally picked the disc out because it was pretty. This was before I knew how lacking my form was, and that flight numbers are pretty important. All I knew was that this disc liked to go to the left. Naturally, I only threw this disc for shots that I wanted to hook (until I lost it in the water).

Fast forward to today, form more developed, the importance of flight numbers learned, and super aware of what discs I should be throwing: I currently bag three star Wraiths, and oh how I absolutely love them. They are the perfect driver for my developing technique, and developing arm speed. Two are stock Ken Climo stamped; one brand new at max weight, and the other I found this past summer with 172 penned on the back in Sharpie. The third is a max weight bottom stamp that I affectionately refer to as Wraithald McDonald because it is the same color yellow as the McDonald's logo.

Purple 172: Most beat in of the three, and can be quite flippy. I use it for hyzer flips, and tailwind shots where I know it won't turn and burn. This disc doesn't make it out of my bag unless the wind is favorable simply because the bottom stamp flies so well for me.

Orange 175: After looking everywhere online for more max weight bottom stamps, I decide to end my search. While browsing through discs at my local disc golf hot spot ( shout out to the Den party store in Kalamazoo), I found an embossed star wraith with about the same feel as my bottom stamp. Hopefully, once the, weather gets nicer, I can do some more field testing with this disc.

Bottom Stamp 175: Glide for DAYS, an absolute BOMBER! This disc is my ABSOLUTE go to. I cannot explain the level of love at first throw that I experienced. This disc does it all for me, and can handle the power that I have to give it. Thrown with my average power (enough to pump a disc between 280 and 350), I can get this disc to stand up, turn over slightly if at all, ride straight, and fade reasonably at the end. If I really try to get behind this disc, it can still handle it. When I throw with everything I have, it will turn, but (given the room to do so) it will ALWAYS come back.

I've heard the Wraith described as a more approachable Destroyer. I don't know if I agree though. I think that the Wraith should be looked at even if you have the power to throw a Destroyer, simply because it has the ability to work in ways the Destroyer can't.

The Innova Wraith truly is the Everyman's destroyer. The Wraith's smaller rim but similar wing profile lends it to a comfortable grip and excellent flight. The Wraith's profile can vary from Domey to Flat and I've found the more dome generally the better the stability and glide is, the flat ones tend to flip a little sooner. I've been throwing Wraiths for awhile and have thrown Pro, Champion, Glo Champion, Star, and Echo Star I would say pro and echo star are probably the least stable but with best grip then star is probably the middle ground and champ/glo champ are nice and stable with a little more finish to them.

The Wraith is a multitool driver in the same way the Destroyer is but for those without top tier armspeed. When new the Wraith will hold almost any line you put it on allowing you to shape long hyzers with a nice flip up to flat and holding a hyzer the whole flight, a straight shot will show off a little highspeed drift followed by a smooth fade with good distance. On anhyzer with height the Wraith goes far, it holds that anhyzer line and pans beautifully while slowly flexing back out. Forehand the Wraith is surprisingly friendly even to those without a monster forehand and is easy to shape lines with. It won't fight out of a crazy flex line but for hyzers and flat shots it does admirably.

As far as wind fighting goes depending upon the plastic type and profile your Wraith may either favor or flounder in a head/tailwind situation. mix and match your Wraiths to cover most situations.

Beginners will find themselves frustrated with this disc pretty easily, while it is accessible it does still require a solid amount of power to get it to behave the way it is intended and as such should probably be avoided until they reach an adequate skill level.

Overall the Wraith is a game changing disc for the amateur/pro field offering excellent distance, control, and versatility without the prerequisite of huge armspeed. It still requires a solid toss to do what it is supposed to but is a disc that should be on every ones radar. It's my most used distance driver to date and I can't find any reason to give it less than the full 5/5 stars the wraith is a fantastic disc.

Wow Great Disc! THE DESTROYER FOR MORTALS!! great feel.  Glides forever, skips nice, very nice stability even in the lighter weights which is impressive.  Only thrown as low as 164 grams though.  I Like the Star plastic for this, i tried a couple plastics.  Backhand the Disc will fly mostly straight with little to no turn up to almost 400ft of power.  Will get some turn if throwing over 400ft of power. Forehand with power flies long and straight with a little fade at the end and nice skip.  Such a dependable easy to throw distance driver. This is based off a couple weeks of throwing.  i will be interested to see how stable it is after a couple months.  I'm not taking this out of the bag  though.  Already my new favorite.  Yes this is an old popular disc but it's new to me.   i have just been throwing discs from other companies that i like for a long time and just now discovered it.

I find that my Star Wraith flies very close to the flight numbers that are listed for the disc. It's got some really nice glide, a bit of turn, then healthy fade at the end. It can handle a mild headwind pretty well, but on those really windy days you will probably want to bump up to something a little beefier. It feels very good in the hand, and for some reason I find that I use it for forehand shots more than backhand shots. Very similar to the Destroyer, just a touch slower really.

These discs are so fun to throw and hold such a great line. Its the destroyer for everyone else who isnt throwing 450 feet in open division. Throw them with a good amount of speed and they will hold any line you set them on and fade very predictably at the end. Such a cool disc. I bag three of them and love each one equally!

If you are like myself and just can't get that Destroyer to turn a little and get you that extra distance you've been yearning for, do yourself a favor and get a Wraith. The rim feels a little better in hand, and with a good strong toss I can get that -1 turn out of it and can pretty much always throw this farther than my Star Destroyer of the same weight. I must have in my bag.

Profile: I really like the feel of this disc.  This rim is starting to get on the thick side but it doesn't bother me at all. I like the thinner profile too.

Flight: This is a tricky review because they type of plastic and the run of the disc makes such a huge difference in this disc.  Newer runs are very stable [11, 5, -.5, 3.5] where a used one is more along the [11, 5, -1.5, 2] range.  This DOES hold up well in the wind.  This is not for those without decent power.  I do bag 1 of these but it's one I found in a used bin that was an older run, very difficult to replace.

Comparison: I find this to be a step up in stability from a Star Tern.  I would say the World would be a close disc to this one too.

Final Thoughts: Due to the inconsistencies with plastic, runs and flight I don't use this disc. If I had a bigger arm I might like it more, I would say this is for someone with 400'+ power.

I throw the Star platic Wraith witha weight of 167g. I love the star plastic because of its more flexlible plastic and the additional grip that it provides over the champion plastic. I do like this disc and it is a good driver. I usually throw this or the boss for my more hyzer type throws. The Boss and the Wraith have the same stats apart from speed. So in comparisson to the boss the Wraith doesn't provide as good of a turn. It claims to be -1 but I feel that the turn is closer to -.5 or even 0.

Other than the turn inssue the disc is an all-around great disc and I feel that it is very predictable. If you already have a Boss or a Tee Devil, I wouldn't recommend this disc because its not going to be much different than what you currently have. If you don't have either one of those, this would be a great disc to own.

    Innova Wraith:

My 175g Star Wraith is the disc that I throw the most (RHBH). It's been a staple in my bag ever since I developed the form and power to throw it properly. I typically reserve the Wraith for longer open shots. I don't typically throw it in moderate to heavy wooded areas becaue I want to preserve the flight that I have. I have probably owned 4-5 different Wraiths. I only backhand my Wraiths, if I forehand it, it's a bit too understable for my style of throw.

For me, I have 2 Star Wraiths in the bag. I have would consider a stable one, and an understable one. When I throw my stable Wraith at full power, I release on a hyzer, it flips up nicely, carries straight for quite some time, then fades left at the end of the flight. My understable Wraith I can get to gently glide to the right for majority of the flight before it gradually starts fighting back to neutral and even slightly left. It's just alway predictable for me. I know where it's going to go (my understable one takes a bit more work for me to master, as hyzer-flips are a difficult shot for me to get everytime).

It's a great feeling discs in my hand. I just feel so much more confident (in no to little wind) with my Wraith than my Destroyer. I can grip it a bit easier than I can the Destroyer and it just feels a little better in my hand.

For me, the Wraith sits right betweene an Orc and Destroyer and sits in the sweet spot for me. If there is a decent headwind, I'll choose the Destoyer over the Wraith, but any any other conditions, chances are I'm picking up "ole reliable".

I agree with the ratings and find it to be very easy to achieve your desired flight path with this disc, if it be hyzer, anhyzer, S-curve, once a DX version is broken in I find it even makes a very good roller disc. Due to both bad fate and my love for the disc, I Currently am throwing my third Wraith. I prefer this disc in star or DX plastic, around 172g.

This disc will gain you some distance once you can get it up to speed. Not for the new player unless there is a good headwind but a must have for intermediate to advanced players. If the throw an eagle I can drive 350 or so get a wraith you are incomplete without it. If you don't throw eagles still get one you will not regret it.

    I have 3 wraiths....

    170g DX Plastic

    155g Star Plastic

    173g Star Plastic

So I will start by saying that each of these fly differently. Not drastically, but the weight and the plastic exaggerates the flight path shown in the diagram above.

DX Plastic: This is understable. I hyzerflip this guy with a tailwind and bomb it.I get little to no overstable qualities from this disc but it does slightly fade back left. At first I hated it but when I learned how to use it I felt like spiderman learning his powers for the first time.

155g v 173g Star Plastic: These are similar, both slightly overstable. The 155g is more affected by wind but does have highspeed turn. The 173g shows more stability and wind resistance, slight highspeed turn but with a reliable fade.

Because of the discrepancies between all of the discs, normally I would find this bad if the same disc had different flight paths within the same plastic and weight range. However, the wraith is a very consistent mold in that the weight and plastic determine 1) how stable the disc is, 2) how much high speed turn the disc has, 3) the feel in the hands is the same (bh and fh).

I carry 2 in my bag, usually the DX and the 155g, but sometimes I'll pull out the 173g for windy days. This is a solid, reliable disc that gets me down the fairway.

Get this driver. Reach for this more than your destroyer.

If you're a beginner and feel you're ready to start testing high speed drivers, try the wraith before headed to the destroyers or faster discs. this disc is very comfortable in the hand and the flight is a mirror image of what a destroyer flies like. I bag on average 5 wraiths in my bag in various stages of wear its now been my go to since switching from DD3s as I felt I was getting much more control as well as having similar distances being met by my Wraiths. If you're worried about the wraith not being as overstable as you'd prefer get a heart beat max weight Halo star you wont be disappointed.

AT that power you get a nice straight flight with a strong overstable finish. As for me, I like carrying Wraiths at several stabilities. The most stable Wraith I can consistently throw 400, and my most under stable Wraith is a 440+ turnover bomber. As Wraiths break-in they get a little finicky especially. They are especially touchy in wind, as such I recommend having at least one Destroyer as well. But you cant really go wrong bagging a wraith and if you haven't tried one yet, you need to.

The wraith has been my go to distance driver since getting back into disc golf. Is mostly throw side arm and this disc helps me get every last foot out of my drives. Released flat it will hold the line with some slight turn and has a very reliable fade at the end just as the flight numbers suggest. On hyzer it will hold the line perfect. It differs for me from its 12 speed sister disc the destroyer when thrown on anhyzer. As the destroyer will flex back hard for my arm speed the wraith will hold long turnover shots with ease. Overall a great distance driver that i can rely on in any wind and drive over 300 feet.

The wraith is one of my favorite discs. Despite the flight ratings suggesting that it has the same turn and fade as the destroyer, for me it flies with more turn and less fade than any of my destroyers. I carry a wraith for long range hyzer flip shots when I need a touch more control and less fade than I get with a destroyer.

The Wraith is by far my most thrown disc out of any in my bag. When I began playing the first driver I bought was a dx wraith that was perfect for my beginner arm. Over the past couple years I have bagged a star wraith that is perfect for my max distance backhand throws. While still not having great arm speed I am able to throw slight flip ups, as well as hyzer and flex shots with this disc.Would recommend for anyone who is looking for a slightly more controllable disc compared to the Destroyer.

My only regret is that I wish I had picked one up sooner. I started playing a few years ago, but only really started playing regularly and practicing maybe 7 months ago. BH is a work in progress and I get my Wave & Falk over 300' on a good day. I prefer throwing fairways at +/- 165g, but I figured I'd try out a 157g Wraith and it's been a real treat to throw. It's light enough that I can get it to turn a bit before it reliably fades out. I haven't thrown it FH as much as I have BH, but it feels great in my FH grip and flies as expected. Faster discs can be hit/miss for me based on grip alone as my hands are on the smaller side, but the Wraith feels excellent in my BH grip. I can't recommend this for beginners who have little to no prior experience, but I'm comfortable recommending it to a newer player who's been playing for a while and wants to try out faster discs in a lower weight.

Just upgraded to a Star Wraith - 171g lime green. Not beginner friendly. I'm barely an intermediate and for a while my go to driver was a Star Barsby Roadrunner. I got this because of the dramatic turn it has which I used to compensate for my incorrect releases. My back would round and I'd release hyzer so everything besides this RR was a meat-hook. Now after practicing with Mako3s and Roc3s I can release flat. I upgraded to a Thunderbird and Wraith at the same time. I don't have the power to flip a wraith yet, but it isn't a meat-hook either. Even without a flip it is my furthest flying disc at 375ft and it's predictable. Great in Headwinds too. All the hype about it is true, just don't rush to get one of these right away IMO.

Loving this disc! For months I've been trying to really build up arm speed using thunderbirds as my long range overstable driver. I'm finding the Wraith is more controllable, farther flying, and less overstable than Thunderbirds,  while still being reliable in the wind. You can throw it flat, hyzer and anhyzer. A truly excellent disc. I now see what the hype is about. This is a wonderful disc.

This is the 1 Speed less version of the ever so popular Destroyer! This disc can be thrown in pretty much any type of windy conditions. Throwing into a headwind with this disc is particularly fun as you can throw it with a hyzer and it will flip up to flat, and fly for days before coming back with that reliable fade. If you want MAX distance in a headwind, however, releasing on flat will give it a much more exaggerated turn to the right (RHBH) and give it a HUGE flex line/s-curve before coming back with that nice reliable fade. When thrown with a tailwind, the overstability is much more apparent and so more power is needed and a flat to anhyzer release is a must. One thing I have noticed is that this disc in the Halo Star plastic is very sensitive to nose angle. Thrown even a little nose-up, this disc will stall and crash back down to earth. I love how the disc feels and how it flies, and for those of you who may not be able to harness the power of a destroyer quite yet, this is a good starting point.

I would buy this as one of my first drivers, but only if you have been playing awhile as it does require you to throw at 11 speed - otherwise this disc will just run on you right away and you will get no distance.  Once you start to be able to snap this disc will be the one that flies the furthest and with decent control.  I was not able to throw this disc forehand while I was able to launch a destroyer forehand.  Great overall disc that will probably always have a  slot in my bag.

Great disc. Overstable, but only to a degree. I have been playing for around 3 months so I can't throw a wraith as easily as say a valkyrie, but I have gotten max 350 out of the disc with a decent fade at the end. In a head wind this is a strong choice, and if you have the arm you can you get solid distance out of the disc.

I got the Star Wraith from a trade and this disc does not disappoint. I think the Wraith is one of the best distance drivers for newer players that are looking to step up from throwing midranges and putters. It has enough speed to fly very far, but is not overstable to shorten your drives. I can rip on this disc on hyzer and it will flip up past flat and just glide for days. It is probably the second farthest flying disc I own and it would be a must have addition to amateur players bags. If you are a new player the wraith will still be difficult for you to utilize but once your form and arm speed get better you will be ripping this disc out on the course. If you are looking for a max distance driver that is on the understable side, look no further. But be aware this disc can become too understable for any headwinds.

This is by far my favorite distance driver of all time. I usually carry anywhere from 3-5 ranging from different plastics and stability to cover all the distance driver shots that I need. There are so many good things to say about this disc I do not even know where to start. I first got this disc after not having any success with Destroyers and Bosses and was instantly in love, right off the bag I noticed that they were less stable, I was able to hyzer flip them and get it to fly dead straight. Another thing was that I could forehand the Wraith very comfortably and get a nice overstable distance forehand shot. After this disc has been my main distance driver for over a year and a half I see no plan in it coming out of my bag or getting replaced!

The race is a very good driver for those who have slower arm speeds and weak "snap". I'll throw destroyers, the wraith I turn over too much. But for those who have tried a destroyer and don't like them, I recommend a star wraith. They are really good disc, a lot of people I've seen get really good distance from them but I don't seem to do that.  I would have my star wraith go really hard right "RHBH", so I gave it to my dad who has a much slower arm speed, and he gets really good distance "about 400ft' and a nice "S" curve to go along with it. It's got a great feel, good durability, and overall a nice disc for beginners who are just now trying out and using drivers. But I figure for those who start getting stronger and start throwing over 400ft, you're gonna want to get a star destroyer eventually.

The Wraith is a very accurate distance driver that has excellent control for something with a speed of 11.  I have thrown this disc in DX and Pro, but I love the performance of my Star.  The Star Wraith has provided a beautiful blend of accuracy and durability.

The flight characteristics of this disc are exactly as advertised.  A good RHBH rip will cause this disc to slightly float to the right before coming back with a predictable fade.  The movement to the right is very subtle and helps to provide very straight shots.  This is by far my straightest distance driver.  I don't get the same distance with this as other drivers, but will gladly sacrifice a little distance for better control on tight shots.

Pretty accurate and not too difficult to throw far. I have found it swings a lot wider right (RHBH) than a Destroyer. For me this has made it a driver I generally throw on non wooded drives. This could also be from beating it up.

Can't underestimate the glide on it though. When thrown fast it takes a while for this thing to come down. But I am not a fan of using it through headwinds I'd recommend something more stable than a Wraith.

I also prefer a destroyer over a Wraith on long tunneled forehands as well.

All in all it is a really solid disc but would only reccomend as a stepping stone to a destroyer as your arm speed increases.

This review is for the halo star plastic.

    Pros:

    • Very accurate for an 11 speed. 98/100 times I know exactly where this disc will end up within a 20-30 foot radius circle when thrown correctly
    • Glides well up here in Colorado. Most discs that advertise a 5 glide get a 3.5-4 glide up here but this one does get the 5 glide it advertises at altitude
    • Absolutely beautiful. Picking up one of these in the halo star plastic is worth it just because it is a piece of art
    • 11 speeds in general are the upper limit for many players who can't get their arm speed up any higher, this is the driver I would recommend to that type of player

    Cons

    • This disc in halo star plastic is much more overstable than the numbers indicate. At a mile high in altitude with a 350-400 ft drive, I can only get about a -.5 turn out of this disc and it fades rather harshly.
    • DX plastic is genuinely terrible, so don't waste your money and pay the extra $2 or so for a much better disc if you are looking at your options.

Overall an excellent disc! Get Gstar plastic if you like things flippier and grab yourself a halo star like I did if you prefer placement and predictability.

If you dont have the arm speed for a destroyer or are looking for a great straight to stable distance driver the wraith is a great disc. Works well backhand and forehand I recommend you find one with a pop top as those seem to be the more over stable ones and have a great glide with distance potential once they beat in.

Great high speed driver that can get a slight turn on and fade consistently around 350-450ft. This disc is probably a bit too fast and overstable for me to recommend for a beginner, but intermediate and advanced players with good arm speed could learn to work this disc into their game a bit easier than something like a destroyer.

The wraith is one of the two main distance drivers that I throw. It was the first distance driver that I started using when I got my arm speed up to a speed 11. The wraith is one of the most comfortable discs in the hand that I have ever felt. In star plastic, the wraith will start out a little more over stable out of the box but once it starts to beat in, you can shape throws to hit any line. I love to use my beat in star wraith for flip to flat shots, my most best in wraith for big turn over anhyzer shots, and my new one for hyzer shots and forehands. The wraith is great for both forehand and backhand throwers.

The wraith is amazing! Wow what a awesome driver. Definitely my favorite disc to pull out for any sort of distance, backhand or forehand. A great disc golf beginners looking to move up in speed and stability from say, a leopard or valkyrie, but not quite ready for a destroyer. For me, the wraith flies true to the flight numbers, popping up from a very slight hyzer and fading out consistently every time. Although it's not as stable as a destroyer, it will hold up in a decent headwind and it has a TON of glide.

I have five wraiths, and they all fly like a dream for me! I'd recommend this disc to anybody, except a really early beginner. I don't have a huge arm (I throw around 325 usually), but big arms like double G and James Conrad use these, and they fly great for the big guns as well. No surprise to me!

I got the wraith about two weeks ago. In this time span it has worked it's way to being my favorite disc in my bag, and by far the most versatile. Star Wraith 169g.

This disc made its way into my bag from the woods on a local course, it quickly became one of my favorite, most reliable discs.

Flies true to the flight numbers, and has gotten just slightly more understable after taking beating after beating. Flies almost as far as my destroyers, without sacrificing any control. Anytime I need to throw far on a woods course, or hit that gap I reach for my Wraith.

This disc does require some armspeed and angle control to throw  well, so might not be suited for new players.

This disc as many others have said is exactly what you think your getting when you buy a destroyer. When I throw my star wraith flat rhbh it gets a good amount of turn but still has good stability to com back and hit the ground at a hiser angle and get a good skip. This disc goes farther that my destroyer for reference I can hit around 395 with my destroyer and 415 with my wraith. This disc is great for anyone how can throw 350+ highly recommended.

This disc has the distance of a distance driver but the control of a fairway driver. The -1 turn keeps it in the air and flying straight for a few extra moments before the fade kicks in and it takes a reliable finish. This is by far my favorite overstable distance driver and it really is not even close. It is a great feeling to walk up to a hole that is a good fit for the Wraith and know that you get to throw it.

Though I'm new to the game, my personal favorite driver at the moment (keep in mind I've never thrown a Zeus or Destroyer) is the Innova Star Wraith. This disc is understable enough to give most players at least some turn but stable enough to withstand tremendous power. My Wraith has a flat top and as a result is very good for forehands, but domier Wraiths are probably better for backhands. Additionally, the 11 speed rim feels slightly more comfortable to me than 12 speed rims for my small hands. All in all, the Star Wraith is a great distance driver for players of all skill levels which is why I call it my favorite.

When I was a beginner I had the arm speed to throw this disc forehand, but struggled with the backhand for a long time.  My forehand out threw my backhand for a couple of years, probably due to playing a lot of baseball when I was younger.  However, as the disc got a bit more beat in and my backhand got stronger it quickly became my favorite driver.  I recently lost it and opted for a Star Tern off the shelf.  The understability of the Tern feels pretty similar to a beat-in Wraith.  I have become more familiar with the Tern at this point, but still hope that disc comes back.  Still haven't found a disc I prefer to throw forehand.

    Wraith vs. Destroyer

The destroyer gets all the credit, but in my opinion the wraith is so much better.  Destroyers are known for their inconsistency run to run, probably because of the wide rim.  Wraiths are incosistent just like most innova discs, but not as incosistent as the destroyer.  The wraith is not a good disc for beginners because of its wide rim and high speed, but it is useful for more players than the destroyer.  The wraith is like a shorter more controllable destroyer.  It is easier for new players to get it to s turn and it doesn't have as much fade as the destroyer.

    Flight

The wraith is a far flier, used by pros for max distance or near max distance.  Most players can't get the flight out of the wraith that pros can, but is can still be a useful disc.  Once a wraith is beat in, it turns more and is a far flier.  I also like the wraith in lighter weights, and this can allow intermediate players to get the desired flight out of the wraith.

    Conclusion

Overall, the wraith is a great feeling and flying disc, used by intermediate to pro level players.  Most people, including myself, prefer the wraith in star plastic, where it isn't too overstable but durability isn't sacrificed.  The wraith is one of the best distance drivers out there, and more players should turn to it rather than the destroyer.

After recently losing my Champion Wraith, I picked up a Star Wraith 170g as a replacement. It has almost immediately become my go-to driver for any shot that requires a straight or slightly flexed flight and a reliable finish. I will use this disc for most long drives off the tee unless I need something with a bit more stability in a headwind. It isn't the most beginner friendly disc as a speed 11 stable driver, but I think it is fairly easy to learn with good form and can add distance to just about anyone's drives.

Disc - 173 Innova Star Wraith

Feel - The wraith is very comfortable for a distance driver. In my opinion, the rim is fairly narrow at least compared to other distance drivers and it fits nicely in the hand. It feels good for both backhand and forehand shots and star plastic is very durable while also providing very high quality grip.

Flight - The wraith is a more controllable and a tad less stable destroyer. I feel that due to the smaller rim the wraith comes out a tad more consistently and accurately. It has a very similar flight pattern as a destroyer but with a bit more turn and a less pronounced fade. I really enjoy throwing this disc when I feel like my destroyers or raiders aren't feeling good and I need something a bit more controllable.

Overall - The wraith is a great disc for players who don't quite have the arm speed for a destroyer or are looking for something a bit more controllable. I would recommend this disc to most advanced players but would not recommend it to many beginners.

This will always be one of my favorite discs of all time. I have mine in a 12 time star plastic, 171 grams. The rim is super comfortable. nothing too big, so it feels like you cant get a grip on it, but enough width to really get that driver distance you're looking for. Out of the box it had some substantial fade but it's taken about a year to get it beat in to a straight flyer with some reliable forward fade at the end. Still has enough stability to fight a mild head wind before turning completely over. Mine has a pretty flat top so it gives me a confident grip for forehand as well. overall a great disc for those looking for some extra distance with developing form. Star plastic is great. good grip and takes some time to get beat in.

What started as a hatred for this disc turned into a solid love. The first two of these I owned were DX plastic because I was trying to save some money while I got used to new discs. No matter how I threw it the disc acted SUPER understable and would turn straight into the ground. I continued to read reviews that were giving it massive praise so I purchased one in the Star plastic, determined to "unlock" this disc. The Star flew as I was reading it should and once I got a little more power consistently this thing became my go to disc for headwinds. In the headwind it flys straight as an arrow and if I put some good power behind it in stable conditions I get a beautiful S-Curve that lasts for days. I've been hitting 400 - 420ft with it with some consistency. Now I have 3 of them!

I have two Wraiths, both in 168 grams and one is in Star plastic and one is in Pro.  I gave the five star rating to the Star Wraith, as I am not a big fan of the Pro Wraith, mainly because of the feel of the plastic.

    Feel

    Star

The Wraith has my favorite sized rim, it has a little less width in the rim than the Destroyer which fits my small hands better.  Mine has a pretty flat top, which is my preference.  My Star Wraith feels pretty stiff for Star, but still has a lot of grip. It feels comfortable in my hand for both backhand and forehand.

    Pro

The Wraith in Pro plastic (at least mine) has quite a bit of dome.  It is very bendy and soft for Pro and I really don't like the way it feels now that the weather is getting warmer.  It feels much better in the cold weather. This doesn't feel very confortable for forehand because of the dome.

    Flight

    Star

I would give the Star Wraith the flight ratings of 11/ 6/ -1/ 2.5.  It is not quite as overstable as I would have expected, but I originally got it so I could have a good understable driver for tailwinds in a couple years when it beats in, so I am glad it isn't too overstable.  It has a ton of glide, which makes the Wraith great for tailwind shots once they are beat in.  They fly well in all sorts of wind as long as it is under 15 miles an hour or so.  Any more than that and it will get hard to control, like it does with any disc.

    Pro

I would give the Pro Wraith the flight rating of 11/ 6/ -2.5/ 2.  It is quite a bit more understable than the Star Wraith.  I used to use this disc for my max distance, it works well for that because of it's high glide and it isn't too overstable.  Not very reliable in wind except for tailwinds or left to right.

    In Summation

The Wraith is a great driver that can get you some good distance but stay pretty controllable.  I would recommend this disc to intermediate and advanced players, I would not suggest getting this disc if you are new to the sport, unless you are pretty confident you have good form.

The Wraith has taken the crown as my primary driver (RHFH). The rim is more comfortable than a Destroyer to me, and I seem to get more consistent results with the Wraith as a result. In most mild winds, the Wraith doesn't excessively react, I throw it in head, tail, and cross winds alike. It tends to feel a lot like a fairway driver, so once you have those mastered, jump up to the Wraith and you'll be ready for some big D!!!

Best distance driver available (for most throwers). Wraith has a perfect balance between enough turn to glide out and a good finish on it. It's not as straight as other distance drivers in my experience (like DDX), but it will glide for days thrown properly, and will get max distance for a lot of players. Destroyers are often too much disc, but the Wraith is a good disc for max distance.

I'd say stick around 170-172 for a balance of flip, carry, and fade.

This is a great option for a distance driver that is very versatile for forehand and backhand shots. It flies just how the numbers say and feels great in the hand. It is basically a slightly slower version of the Destroyer, which is what I carry in my bag.

I currently bag 2 Star Wraiths at 172g and 163g and they're a perfect complement to my Destroyers. I typically reach for this whenever I need to go uphill with a driver because it is not nearly as stable as my Destroyers. On flat ground, it'll typically finish pretty straight for me, but if I rip on it flat, I can get a nice long turn before it flattens out and comes back a bit. The 163g is great for long turnover shots. All in all, very happy with this disc and highly recommend one for anyone trying to throw Destroyers but doesn't have the arm speed.

I am pretty new to disc golf. And the wraith is the first disc that I could get over 300 ft. I find that 171 star disc are my sweet spot. I can throw this straight get a tiny bit of turn and a nice glide to fade. It's become my go to driver.

Like a longer teebird in flight and feel. Great for hyzers that hold and glide without diving. Definitely a max distance driver. Not the best for head winds if you have 430+ power. Great for other winds. Very comfortable in the hand with an optimal rim width for an great secure hold. Again, if you have the power, you can put his on any line and It'll hold. First disc to throw over 500'.

I've been throwing the Wraith for a couple years now and it is my go to distance driver. I have four in the bag, from brand new to very beat up. Forehand/backhand hyzers, to forehand/backhand turnovers, these discs can do it all. Great driver for players with decent arm speed but not absolute cannons.

This disc is a great and reliable disc to have in your bag. I've used a wraith for many years now and I can thoroughly rely on it's flight pattern. My favorite part about this disc is when its beat in and you can get a full flight out of the wraith.

For the first couple years of playing, I didn't work on my form, and didn't get any snap on my RHBH drives at all. In those days, my Wraith was a disc that I could throw on a flex line to get a reliable fade and end with a slight hyzer. Now that I've got (a little) better form, I can throw it flat for a great full flight and it has become my most consistent distance driver (I don't have the arm for a destroyer!). Love this disc because it's both forgiving for beginners and can grow with you. [note: I have a Champion and a Star Wraith, and true to fashion, the Champ plastic is more stable with less glide]

This is the first real driver I've bought. Brand new, the Wraith has a nice straight flight with a long left fade at the end. Once it beats in, it can ride an anhyzer line for a good while if you put it on one, and it still has that left fade. It is very consistent, and you can get good distance with this disc.

The Wraith has been my main driver for years. It is without a doubt my most trusted comfortable distance driver on a calm day. When thrown level it takes a mild anhyzer, and then stays straight forever before a slight hyzer finish. It feels great for a backhand bomb, flies dead straight when I forehand it, and isn’t the best overhand disc. If I have my Innova bag, you’ll see me throw my wraith a whole lot.

My favorite distance driver! To me the Wraith is like a consistent Destroyer. It's easier to throw and easier to get the -1 turn to kick in but across all of the Wraiths I've owned over the years it's always been much more consistent stability wise than my Destroyers and that's what keeps me coming back to it

Great disc, I love it as a primary distance driver.  Handles the wind well, but can still get an s-curve out of it.  I prefer this to the destroyer both b/c I don't have the arm speed and the thinner rim feels much more comfortable in my hand.

Highly recommended for a staple distance driver

This disc is so versatile for me. It was the first I learned how to hyzer-flip along with achieving maximum distance. The Wraith is reliable and I can trust it to do exactly what I want it to do. I recommend this disc for a beginner who has learned to throw understable discs and is looking to purchase their first overstable distance driver.

I bag two star (one 12x and one bottom stamp), and one champ wraith all in 175. I switched to wraiths from destroyers because I feel it is much easier, for my arm speed, to get a full flight and better distance potential. Even if you have really high arm speed you can hyzer flip the star wraith and it will fly for days! I like the max weight champion wraith for headwind drives and over stable sidearm drives. Altogether, the wraith is a super versatile disc and without a doubt my favorite distance driver on the market. If you don't quite have the arm speed for a destroyer, but still want the -1 turn and 3 fade flight, this is your disc!

This is a great disc for players of all skill levels. For slower arms it will fly like you want destroyers to fly. For faster arms it is a very accurate control driver and once broken in they make great understable drivers that you can trust not to just dump right.

A great distance driver for those with less than elite power. with a smooth release it flips up and produces the most effortless distance I have experienced in the 350'-375' range. Once broke in they make great sky anhyzer lines. The Wraith is a great addition to any bag.

I have been playing for about 7 months and bagged both Destroyers and Wraiths in my bag. I recently noticed I was mainly throwing my Wraiths due to my confidence with this mold and its predictable flight. I went to the field and threw both molds and outdistanced my Destroyers on 90% of most throws. I have transitioned to a Wraith heavy bag with one Destroyer for headwinds and hyzer skip shots. Exactly what everyone has already said, if the Destroyer is just a little to stable, pick up a Wraith and you'll be right there with them,

The Star Wraith (and Champ when a bit more stability is needed) has been my go-to distance driver since I had been playing for about 2 or 3 months. After breaking in the Star plastic, my Wraith will hold a moderate anhyzer for a LONG time and always fade at the end. Thrown with a slight anhyzer, the Star Wraith will fly straight for a considerable distance and fade hard. I have added a Star Destroyer which I can throw slightly further and Champ Shryke and Beast for hyzer flips and hard turnovers, but I don't have the same confidence in those yet and my Wraiths are still my primary distance driver.

My experience with this disc mirrors that of many other reviewers here; it was the first distance driver I could consistently get beyond 300 feet. My form has improved since, and the disc has become slightly less stable with wear, so now it flies much straighter for me. But even more important for my game than the distance was the confidence boost. Knowing that I could get a disc this fast to perform in any way like it ought to, per the numbers and flight patterns, meant that my form was developing and I would someday have a chance to birdie something other than a par 3.

Regarding the disc itself, the rim is just about right for my grip. Faster discs are noticeably wider in my hand, and while I can still tell the difference between this disc and a Valkyrie or Firebird, this disc is about as big a rim as I can handle without having to adjust and secure my grip a few times before throwing. Some of that is probably still form, but my Wraith has proven to me that being aware of how discs feel as you start throwing higher speeds pays off.

This was the first high speed driver that I felt confident throwing as a beginner. I could only throw it straight for about 250 feet before it dumped pretty hard and finished at about 300 feet, but it just felt confident to me. It has worn in really nicely now to where I can throw it 300 feet on a dead rope and it will still finish pretty strong to the left. I would recommend this disc as a controlled distance driver. I use it a lot off the tee on par 4 holes that I need to hit a specific landing zone. I also use it as my forehand distance drive out to about 300 feet. Tons of uses for this disc so just buy one and see what it does well for you!

If you're looking for a driver that will have a similar flight to a destroyer but not as fast, this is the one. Having a destroyer in my bag, this disc takes less arm speed to get it's flight path. Great glide and reliable fade, making it a useful distance driver. Currently bag 2 star, (169g,172g) Find the 172 to be slightly more over stable.Only downside is if the headwind is too strong this disc will turnover at times. Overall it's a great disc to gain some distance with as your arm speed improves. Recommend to anyone who wants to throw a destroyer but doesn't quite have the arm speed

The wraith is my correct choice in distance driver for my arm speed at max weight in champion or star plastic. When the wraith is thrown flat and full power; It consistently delivers a long, straight drive landing just feet left of center RHBH. I cannot get the distance with faster discs like the destroyer in premium plastic max weight. While in a warehouse I was lucky enough to find a factory second of this disc on champion with a super flat top. It feels like a wraith in the hand and delivers extreme wind resistance.

My other three wraiths fly factory perfect.

A great understable compliment to this disc is the archon. The pair have really reduced my score day one upon entering my bag. If destroyers land left for you RHBH try a wraith. Ken Climo cannot be wrong!

It is like a longer fairway driver. It flies so straight for so long and at the end of its flight it just fades gently. Unlike a destroyer that will fade hard with a big skip, the Wraith isn't going that fast when it begins its fade so the crash and skip is not really part of the flight. But it does resist HS turn. I have a good am. I can throw over 400 consistently and have hit 474 on occasion. The Wraith can take some torque and it'll fly straight. It also works well on dlex shots.

The rim is very comfortable. Feels fast but not too big.

If the destroyer is just not getting you the distance you want, grab a wraith!

I would say that the Wraith is the best distance driver out there for players looking for long straight drives off the tee. I currently bag 3 Wraiths and they are my go to when trying to reach holes between 350-400 feet. This driver has a perfectly sized rim for most hands. The rim fits perfectly into my hand allowing for a comfortable power grip as well as a fan grip if needed. The Wraith thrown on a hyzer with a lot of power will flip up and ride super straight with a decent amount of fade. Thrown flat the Wraith turns right for around 60% of its flight before fading back to the left. The Wraith is also a great forehand disc. On a forehand I can get this disc to hold a hyzer and glide out to around 350 feet. If you are someone that has been looking for something a bit less overstable than a Destroyer the Wraith is for you.

I've thrown this disc in Star plastic.

Feel: The Star Wraith feels nice in my hands with it's fairly shallow rim. Id say it feels like one fused a Thunderbird with a Destroyer.

Durability: I hardly ever talk about durability of discs, but I've personally noticed that the Wraith beats in quite quickly (in Star plastic). Around a month after I got my Wraith I was already flipping it into rollers from a hyzer thrown on 120 meter power.

Flight: This disc has some serious distance potential. When thrown high enough I can easily get that 450+ distance from it. Granted it takes the full distance flight path, which probably isn't very useful on the course. I use my beat in Wraith for 300-350 feet straight shots or when i need to flip something to a turnover (go far right) at anything from around 280-370 feet.

Flight Numbers: It's really hard to give this disc an accurate rating. Out of the box most of them seem really overstable, but fairly soon they'll start getting flippy on you. From my experience they've been 11/5/0.5/3 out of the box, but my flippy one is more like 11/5/-4/1. It's silly understable now (2-3 months of abuse).

    Conclusion:

It's a really interesting disc, but I can't give it a full 5, due to it beating in so fast for some reason (not only happening to me). It has become my utility disc and I might shed a tear if I lost it. Really good as a first distance driver, or if you simply can't handle a Destroyer. I'm curious if the Champion plastic would feel more reliable.

I use this disc on holes where I don't want to throw my Destroyer and have found myself using it more often the more I play. It's a go-to disc for me when I need a flat, slight S-shot line with a soft fade at the end and not too much dive. Ideal for straighter par 3 drives.
