I've owned several Star Lite Wraith's. I've had my longest throws ever with brand new ones right out of the box. The only problem is that they beat in very fast and become very understable. I've also owned the star lite Boss and Valkyrie and they basically all fly the same. Moderately understable. Do not buy any of those discs and expect them to fly by the numbers as a heavier one would  (in my experience anyway). You also cannot use them with any kind of wind at all unless it is a STRAIGHT tailwind. I keep telling myself that i will never buy anymore, but that extra distance in the early stages of the disc just keeps drawing me back.

Love the wraith!  It was the first disc I had ever used and the first disc I had ever purchased.  Has always had a place in my heart.  Always had the pro plastic.  Just bought in the starlite plastic to work on my backhand otherwise I mainly have used this disc for side arm shots.  Would definitely recommend the lighter weight to any beginner looking to get that little extra distance in a not so great backhand.

This is a review of a brand new 131g StarLite Wraith. The Star Lite plastic is fairly flexible and loose when new, so I'm not envisioning a big change as this beats in (similar to other Star discs I've tried). I can throw a bit over 300' on a windless flat field, just to give you an idea. I throw right-hand backhand. Didn't try the flick.

In short, this disc is insanely understable. When thrown flat and fast (once), it went hard right, flipped up on edge, and turned into a roller within 100' or so. When thrown extremely hyzer, it will flip up to flat and will drift a bit to the right before entering its fade. When thrown with just moderate hyzer, it drifted a good ways to the right, but stayed more or less level (i.e.: didn't turn into a roller) and faded back a bit. This flies much more understable than a full-weight Wraith, which can have some high speed turn, but this StarLite disc is actually going to fight you to the right.

That said, it is true to the strong fade characteristics of a Wraith. You just have to keep it in the air and from turning into a throller to get it to fade, so you'll need some vertical space for this to work. I think with more practice, this can be a useful disc, but I'll have to carefully dial in the amount of hyzer to get this just right. Because it's so light, the wind can really change it's flight, too. It didn't seem like it went much further than my other discs, so I guess it's kind of a one-trick-pony when I need something very flippy (I'm not a strong forehand player).

For what it's worth, I bought this when I went to the disc store looking for Opto Air Bolt (150-159g) to replace one that I lost. That has similar characteristics, but slightly more stable and a bit less fade. I've since replaced my Opto Air Bolt and this StarLite Wraith is in a box somewhere. I think the StarLite Wraith has potential, but it feels a bit unpredictable to me, and maybe a bit unforgiving if I don't get it right. I'll update this if I change my mind if/as I work on it, but until then, I'll use my Opto Air Bolt...

I've been playing about 4 months and can't make this disc do anything but burn hard left. I'm a forehand thrower and my Wraith is 134g.

Hopefully with better form and arm speed I'll have the positive results this disc is reputed to have. Till then I'll stick with my Mamba, Monarch, Roadrunner or Sidewinder.

great disc unless there is a headwind. with a headwind it just sailed up, gained no ground, and faded hard to the left. probably just my disc though. i have one in 134g.

The super light plastic allows new players to get a feel for stable plastic to begin learning a turn over and stretching out their drives.
