Throwing: In Opto this disc is amazing. Two years later my max weight opto holds any line with 350 feet of power. I'd stay it's actually a touch overstable.

Putting: Feels great in zero medium / soft etc... in these plastics it flies very straight and super glidy. A little bit much for my tastes but many beginners will love the extra glide.

I use an Opto Pure as my main throwing putter off the tee and also for approach shots where I need to throw a turnover shot.  The Pure is a great throwing putter, I would highly recommend it for beginners and experienced players alike.  I find it very comfortable in the hand, it is somewhat shallow with a little bit of a rounded feel in the hand.  It has great glide and a little bit of turn out of the box.  I usually release the disc on a little bit of hyzer and give it some height and it will fly a really nice hyzer-flip line that settles gently on the ground for a very straight shot.  The Opto plastic has great grip.  One of my Pures has developed more turn as it has beaten in and has a nice drifting finish to the right (RHBH).  Great disc, not a great wind-fighter however.

My favorite throwing putter to date. Dead straight if thrown flat, if you put it on a little hyzer it will have a little fade at the end of its flight. It is amazing for shot-shaping in the woods or even getting big distance out of a putter in the open. This disc has been a staple in my bag for years and do not see that changing any time soon.

By far my favorite putter so far. No bead and fairly shallow makes it a great all around putter for me. Have an Opto is use for throwing and just got a Zero Medium for putting.

I have the opto pure for approach shots and drives from the tee. It flies super straight and does not fly very far for me (roughly 200 feet). If thrown with a little bit of power to get up to the 250 ft range, then you can see the disc does start to turn more. However, if thrown at low speed the disc is pretty much dead straight with a small fade at the end. This disc has now become a staple in my bag.

The opto pure is my go to throwing puttter and hands down one of the best that I have ever thrown. It has a very simple shape that feels great in the hand, and it flies very straight, but it isn't too glidey, so it can handle  some power and wind. For very overstable shots I use a Zone but otherwise the pure compliments it perfectly

Throw it for most of my upshots over ~100' and often off the tee.

I put it on a slight hyzer and it flies straight regardless of how much power I put on it. I throw it off the tee up to 300' if there is enough height to work with.

The only disc that you MUST have. I love this disc. I am not sure where to begin and once I do I won't know where to end. Full disclosure, I have over 30 of this mold and 3 ACE's with it. I have it in just about every plastic it's made in. First thing first, the mold just feels good in the hand, cliche, but as putters go the Pure is not too deep and has a smooth round edge.

The flight will differ a little depending on the plastics but you can expect as a standard flight to be a straight flight. With moderate arm speed and decent snap you can get the disc to stay on any line you release it on. So if thrown on hyzer the disc will stay on the line, penetrate and finish on that same line. If the disc is a little beat in, a softer blend or thrown with a strong snap it will flip up to a flat and still finish on a straight line. If thrown on a an-hyzer with a snap it will again stay on the line and finish to the right for a RHBH thrower. With practice and if you have a decent forehand you will be able to finesse the Pure as an upshot disc. Again with angle control, you can get the Pure to stay on the line thrown or with just the right amount of snap to finish with a nice fade.

I have played many rounds with a pure only and scored well. Everyone NEEDS a straight flyer. If you looking for a great putter and a throwing putter this is the one mold that will do it all. Also, a testament to this is Latitude64  making the PURE in every plastic they offer.

Absolutely great disc, low profile for people with small hands such as myself and an exceptional amount of glide which helps for putts over 50 feet.  Absolutely no complaints about the two pures I have and I will probably get more in the future.

The pure is in my top 3 of throwing putters. It is such a great laser straight putter that glides for what feels like forever. The pure feels amazing in the opto plastic as a throwing putter. It will take some beating and still stay true to how it came. This disc is able to flip up a little bit out of the box but will end with a small amount of fade. If you throw this disc flat with a little nose up it will just keep that line until it hits the ground. On a slight anhyzer it will hold the angle but not ever dump out. With a lot of anhyzer you get a lot of turn but still a consistent fade that keeps it from hitting the ground on too much of a throller angle. I think the pure is a must have for people who want a straight throwing putter with very little fade or turn. Any player will find the pure useful and more advanced players will find the versatility in this disc unlike many others they have in their bag or have thrown before. If you want a disc that feels great in the hand and will be a great addition pick yourself up a pure.

This is a putter that would work really well as a putting putter or throwing putter, though it has renown as a very straight thrower. You'll get a little bit of turn out of it brand new, which can be invaluable in a left-to-right sloping fairway or a dead straight shot.

They say it goes almost as far as a midrange, which is possible. It take power really well and together with it's turn and glide (which I'd say is closer to 4), you can get good distance out of it.

I'd say it's a great putter to practice form with, as it's not too over or understable and will keep any line you give it.

I don't putt with the pure, but it is an indredible understable throwing putter.  If thrown flat and soft, it will get a tiny bit of turn with a very modest fade.  If thrown a little harder on a hyzer angle, it will flip up, turn slowly, and land perfectly flat.  In opto plastic, the pure has a great combination of understability, durability, and decent grip.  The mold itself feels wonderful in the hand.  A moderate dome with a very round rim.

I bought a used Opto Pure at 172g. Initially I purchased it with the intent to putt with it because I wanted to try new brands. I liked it for putting but it didn't replace my KC Pro Aviar, at this point I wasn't really throwing putters for approach shots or fairway shots but this disc changed everything for me! I am primarily a RHBH/ LHFH thrower as I have not developed a RHFH shot yet. This disc has negated any problems I had with getting a right fade out of my shots! I didn't think it was possible for a putter to fly understable but when these Opto Pure putters are beat-in they are exactly what you need for a straight to right fade! I have found myself going for this Opto in place of my Buzzz SS because the Buzzz will eventually fade back to left whereas my Opto has the slightest turn for as long as it is airborn! Seriously, if you are on the fence about this disc go buy a used one for cheap and try it on some approach shots, you will not regret it! It is important to note that I have only thrown the Opto so this review can only speak for my expereince with the Opto!

I was gifted a Pure in the color change red (I'd say it is more on the pink side) and it's a beaut! It's a really straight disc with a little bit of understable to it. I've been throwing it off the tee every chance I get and I'm happy with it.

I'm still fairly new to disc golf, but as I'm progressing, I'm finding my bag is becoming putters and drivers, and my midranges are being phased out. This disc has a neutral, stable flight and can take plenty of power. It doesn't have a large fade at the end so is more difficult to fly in a swooping S path, but will hold a nice hyzer or anhyzer line to completion. Where this disc really shines is the straight, tight shot. If you hit your line, you can trust this disc will sail on a rope to its destination.

A fantastic disc to have in your bag, and so straight it almost feels more like a utility disc than a true driving putter.

I have tried dozens of putters looking for something that putts straight and is also straight on a drive for short holes (150'-220').   The Pure does both things well.   It is finicky and requires strict form for a straight drive, otherwise it can turn sharply.  It is definitely is worth the practice time to get it right since the drives are a beautiful site and it goes amazingly far on a low power throw.   The putting is terrific also.  With minimal snap, it will fly straight on short putts and make a nice little S path on longer putts.  It is my go to putt and approach disc an I only switch to more overtable options if I need to shape a shot or in heavy wind.

One of my favorite discs in my bag! If you are looking for a disc to play a putter only round or to work on your form this is the one. I consistently use mine from the teepad on holes shorter than about 225 and I can trust it to hold the line I put it on. Give the Pure a shot, you wont be disappointed.

I love this putter so much! It has stayed in my bag since day 1 as it is a fantastic, straight as an arrow putter. I switch between this and the Mcpro Galactic Aviar depending on how I am throwing on the particular day. This disc really excels on straight, low ceiling approach shots and drives very nicely for a putter. It seems to have a decent amount of glide but not enough to get you into trouble. The Opto Pure will always have a spot in my bag.

There are only a couple discs in my bag that would be impossible to replace with a different mold, the Opto Pure is one of them.  I use it for most drives and approaches from 220 ft and in.

The Opto Pure holds any angle you put on it.  It's fast for a putter, but somehow it doesn't really fade at all on drives and only fades a little on approaches.  The low profile gives me a clean release every time, assuming my form is good, which allows for complete confidence on each throw.

I used to putt with a Pure in Zero Hard plastic, but more recently I've noticed I get a lot more control putting with slower discs.  Still, for approaches and drives I can't imagine a more perfect putter.

174 Opto Pure. It's become one of my favorite discs in my bag since buying it a few months ago. I bought it mainly as a reliable straight driving putter and it really delivers. I love throwing this disc on a hyzer angle with some power and watching it go dead straight as it slowly flips up to flat and just glides, usually ending with a very slight fade.

This is a fantastic driving putter in Opto plastic.  I am pretty new and love the Harp for a meathook driving putter.  I think this a great compliment to the Harp in the bag.  It feels very similar and the two discs do not overlap much, if at all.  The Pure has a very nice straight flight that reminds you when you throw poorly.  If you are going to crank it max distance it better leave on a hyzer.  It hyzer flips well, and in a tail wind a flat max power pull will reward a straight flat flight.  Do not throw it into a headwind without a lot of hyzer, but that can be said for most putters.  Overall this disc lives up to the hype and feels similar in hand to a Harp or a Swan 1 Reborn.  This is my putter lineup; Swan 1 Reborn for push putts in no wind, Pure for Push Putts in wind and layups, or wind free drives, and Harp for meathook layups and windy drives.  Did I mention that I learned to forehand hyzerflip with this disc........ yea........ awesome!  Once it flattens out it glides for days and days with a tiny bit of fade at the end.  Forehand hyzerflip, sweet.

Months ago I found an orange Pure in the bushes. The owner requested I return it at the local disc golf store where he could pick it up. Upon arrival at the store, the employees who knew him proceeded to tell me how this guy would die if he lost his Pure and how it was a legend in his bag. I didn't think much of it until months later when I was looking for a throwing putter and read all these raving reviews about it and decided to give it a go.

Wow!! This disc was exactly what I was looking for! That honestly doesn't happen very much in the disc golf world when so many discs are out there, each reacting slightly different for various throwing styles. But this 174 g Opto Pure does just what it's advertised to do. Straight in whatever line/angle you put it on. Thrown flat with proper form, this thing starts and ends almost perfectly straight! I set up a measured throwing field out to 400 ft and was able to park my Pure well beyond the 300 ft marker. I was pleasantly surprised with its distance. Many people will say "it holds any line you put on it" for lots of straight discs, but I've found that statement to be most accurate for the Pure out of any disc I've thrown. Even on an anhyzer, it stays true all the way to the ground. Really a pretty disc to watch soar out of your hand.

That being said, it's really sensitive to tweaks in your form. For a complete novice throwing 200 feet max, I'm sure that wouldn't factor in that much, but for someone looking to drive with a putter, good form is a must. Many throws for me don't go exactly as planned because of this, but when I throw a "pure" shot it makes the trial and error worth it.

As a putter, I found it to feel good in the hand with it's relatively low profile and its particularly great for jump putting. Slightly more stable than my warden as a putter, especially at the end of its flight. I've only tried the opto line though, so a softer plastic may react a little less stable, I don't know. Overall though, I'm highly pleased with it for driving and upshots. Feels great in the hand, looks great in opto plastic, and is very satisfying to perfect your form with. There are many discs out there that claim to be as straight as an arrow, but the Pure fits the bill better than anything I've found. Give this disc a shot and change your game!

177g Opto line Pure. This is hands down the best upshot putter I've ever thrown. Holds any line you put it on. On a flat release the flight is THE definition of straight. Great for weaving around obstacles on a hyzer or an anhyzer, since it holds the line all the way to the ground. And in my opinion one of the greatest discs for field training and learning proper form. 5/5!

I was in the market for a driving putter,  I wanted something that was simply point and shoot, a disc that could hold its  line with minimal power and sit where it hits. I was in a 50/50 decision between innova's dart and the L64 opto line pure. I went with a 173g pure based off of feel alone. comparing the disc's side by side the pure had a thinner rim and felt better in my hands. I also bag L64's dagger this season and been extremely pleased with it.

This disc meets all of my criteria. I can get this disc to float and hold line up to 200' with no issues. if i give it to much power i can extend it to 230' ish but it will turn over and fade right. Anything in the 200-250' grey area i would probably throw a midrange. This disc has way more glide than advertised. It really does not take much to launch this disc. I often compact my drives to minimal reach back and eliminate all the extra footwork and yeild great controlled drives with the pure.

The opto pure has found a spot in my bag going forward and i am reaching for it often. Approaches 60'-120' and Ace runs of 160'-200' i'm grabbing the pure every time. I also use the pure in these situations: Long putts i want to run, wooded holes with narrow fairways, shorter holes that you might overpower with a midrange, approaches on hills and surfaces where you don't want a skip to ruin your score. I would also recommend this to anyone looking to improve their form, be field work or shooting a round with just this disc.

    OPTO, 173g

Look and Feel: Beautiful disc, plastic feels really great - nice and firm but still some tackiness but not gummy.  When I first got this there was what I thought to be an uncomfortable bead that felt sharp when throwing….  Now, after use, it appears that it was probably just flashing since this has worn down considerably and almost all gone – will be a non-issue but was annoying.

I'm currently using this for backhand upshots from 200ft in.  If I let it go flat and follow through (these are important) it’s going STRAIGHT at the basket.  If I jump put and throw it flat, you guessed it, straight at the chains.  If I through it flat from 20 ft, straight.  Need a hyzer, it’ll follow the line you need.  The PURE is aptly named and a very intuitive disc.

Putting: I’ve switched over to using this as my putting putter.  It just releases straight and easy to put with… I would consider one of the zero blends if using for putting (zero-hard or zero-med).  The opto can kind of stick to your fingers a little and the zero blends are a little more grippy but not sticky.  Opto is nice though and durable.

Opto 176g. This disc is the most neutral disc I have every thrown. Awesome for tight lines and it's sneaky long for a putter. It goes on the line that you throw it and is really an awesome disc. I have confidence in this disc and it has saved me many strokes on the course. It is also a very good putter, though I prefer the colt. I use an R-Pro colt for these linesin my bag, but I'd happily go back to an opto pure if I needed to do so.

As a side note, I ordered the grip line pure for my friend's birthday and he recently hit an ace with it.

After trying the Gold Line Pure and not liking the flight, I made my way back to my Opto Pure and don't know why I didn't do it sooner. The Opto Pure is my absolute favorite driving putter and even approach putter when I need something that I can absolutely trust. I got to the point with my Gold Line that I was iffy when stepping up to shots, I didn't know if I could actually get the disc to hold its line or not or if it would randomly become pretty stable on me. The Opto Pure gives me absolute confidence when stepping up to a shot, especially when I need to have the disc fly and settle straight.

One reason I really am drawn to how the Opto flies over the Gold is that I can get it to fly straight, flex out to the right, or even have the disc go left some with a little more stability all depending on my release but I find those things easy to do. It is an absolutely wonderful disc that I think anybody wanting a great driving/approach putter should try

I putt with Zero Hard Pures, and have been using a variety of Pures in some way for quite a while now. I first grabbed an Opto in hopes it would provide a little more durability, and in flight stability while still having a strait finish.

I have grown to really love this disc and I depend on it a lot. It's definitely more stable than my Retro and Zero Hard Pures. It feels great in my hand, and like the name suggests, it has a pure flight; it will hold any line you put it on. It's great for touch/soft up-shots because it doesn't fade a lot, but enough to where it's still dependable. For driving and slightly more powerful shots, it does tend to be a little understable. I use it for strait tunnel-like shots, hyzer-flips, and turn-overs (300 and under, otherwise it's a Tursas/forehand).

I also use an Opto Pure for a catch disc with my friends. It's slow and glides enough that it doesn't really hurt my hand at the end of its flight. It's great practice for throwing different shapes.

This is a great disc and I see it being in my bag for a very long time. It's neutral and controllable, and provides me with a great variety of shots during my rounds.

Opto/ XOpto 175. My go to driving putter and sometimes up shots. I usually use my fluid judges for any upshots but sometimes when I want to place a shot or put more power on it, I go to my Pures. I would not use it as a putter, just too deep for me. But overall my driving putter for stable to slight understable. Would recommend to anybody that needs a driving putter. It would be hard to overstate how much my Opto Pure has revolutionized my game. This disc is so glidey, and yet so controllable, I barely throw my midranges any more. It's a great driving putter - absolutely straight as an arrow out to to 250ft+ for me, tiniest bit of fade at the end. I can turn it over throwing flat into a headwind, but that wind's gotta get up to 15+ mph first - and at that point, I just put a little hyzer on it at release, and we're back to straight as an arrow with a tiny fade at the end. It'll also hold pretty much any anny or hyzer line I put it on, and will glide surprisingly far with hardly any power.

Because of all that, it's become my go-to disc off the tee for anything 275ft or less that's straight or a gentle dogleg left or right. It's also my go to approach disc for anything 150ft or less. I like to throw approaches with it with just a slight amount of anhyzer, as it will fade to flat at the last possible moment and land like a pancake every time. The fact that it's so glidey also means I can focus on my line instead of getting the power right - a gentle flick of the wrist will get all the distance I need. I've never experienced any other disc I could be so reliably accurate with. I probably reach for this disc more times per round than anything else in my bag. Could not recommend enough.

Beadless straight putter. Opto plastic feels great, it's actually more grippy than I'd have guessed looking at it. When I do field work I like to use the Pure to practice open straight throws. I've noticed my recyled plastic version reliably glides 20-30 feet further than either my opto or medium zero. Not too deep, not too shallow, not too stable, not too understable - it's just right.

This review is specifically about the Opto Pure, and supplements my previous review.  The Opto Pure is the longest and straightest putter I have found for long approaches and throws off the tee.  The Pure flies as long as many mids, and does so with a very stable/straight flight.  I throw it on approaches to the basket on tight lines through the woods and it is very straight and accurate.  I can shape shots where I have room, with some really nice hyzers and good anhyzers (which get better as the disc seasons in).

I also recommend the Opto Pure for working on one's form.  The Pure will not mask problems, and the rewards of a long, straight flight with proper form is really cool to see.

The Opto Pure all but rearranged and redefined my bag, and I will not play a round without it.  I heartily recommend it to beginners and experienced players alike.

I decided to pick up a couple Pures.  A friend uses it and let me try it out a little, seemed like a nice somewhat fast putter that goes very straight.  I also have been using an Atom and found that the specs on both discs are very similar so I decided 'Why not?'

The Pure is a little wider in diameter than my other putters, the depth is not deep or shallow, but a nice in-between. Beadless.  The flight is a very nice glidey, straight with a mild hyzer.

RECYCLED Pure 174g has a grippy but plasticy feel, more flashing than wanted, flight does turn slightly at high speeds, but has enough stability to straighten out and likely hyzer fade.  Great for long smooth anhyzers, straight shots, and hyzers that pan out and hold. 3.5/3.5/-0.5/0.5 (,-specific flight #'s I give it)

OPTO Pure 175g has a nice dense premium feel, great grip, smooth/no flashing, Flies more stable at high speed than the Recycled.  Holds a long straight flight then small but noticable hyzer fade.  Great all around thrower.  Faster than my Glow Pa3, just as straight.  Like a Z Buzzz 177+ but more putter-like.  Not a slow putter, not a mid, def just a nice moderately fast throwing putter that goes where you aim it, but stable.  All around a GREAT disc. 3.5/3.25/0/0.75 (<- Yes, VERY specific flight #'s I give it)

Only cons is that is can sometimes get held up in an anhyzer route and not straighten out.  Not the best in any headwind.  A slightly modified more HSS Pure would be ideal

Latitude 64's Opto Pure is an absolute bomber as a throwing putter. I have an Opto Pure that will turn slightly more then my other so they compliment eachother perfectly. The Opto Pure is dead straight at good power and will fly very far while keeping a line until it's gentle fade slowly kicks in. I recommend this disc to anyone curious about it. I can pair my Pure's with MVP's Envy because it is very similar in the hand but Envy fades reliably where Pure will carry straighter.

Okay, I have to give it a review after testing putting and and drives in and off the course. The zero medium pure has a great feel to my hand. Since I have relatively dry hand, I can't put with my classic aviar anymore especially in the winter. The zero medium becomes a little stiff in the cold which obviously every plastic does, but this putter still feels good in the hand. I am hoping it would be really grippy in summer which I am looking for. I am a push putter and it works great. Withing 33ft circle I use dead straight push put beyond that range I use this putter on a slight hyzer line and it does great job. As a driver, this putter is dead straight on a medium pull and turns slightly right on a hard pull. I haven't tested it much on headwind, but it seemed to turn to right on a 10 mph wind which I think most putters will do. For a headwind, I always trust the Prodigy Pa2 though. I ordered one more Pure putter a day ago and it is on its way to the rightful owner...lol.

Love the feel the release and the way this thing flys in the air. It's just begging to be hit by chains. Right now this is my putter of choice best $7 i ever spent at my local disk golf store.

After some good experiences with Latitude 64, and reading reviews on the Pure I decided to go all-in. I picked up a 171g Zero line and a 176g in Opto. This disc friggen rules, plain and simple. I was putting with Magics last year and I liked the flight of them, but I found the Gateway SS and SSS plastics just got to slippery with some dust on them. The Zero line has the perfect putter consistency for me. It is GRIPPY and soft, but not slick at all in dust or when wet. It flies very neutral for me, straight, flat, and doesn't fade out to early. I have a straddle/push put style for the record. And let's not forget about the Opto Pure. I use this disc as a driving putter/short mid-range/approach disc. It may not sound like a sexy slot to fill in your bag but just think about it. Everyone needs something to throw when accuracy and aim-ability trump all; in the trees, around an obstacle, or through a narrow window to get out of trouble. I think the strength of my Opto version is certainly line shaping. This one has more of a dome on it than my Zero, and will stay straight with some power on it. It can hold a pretty solid, although fairly short, anny. And when it comes to a hyzer it seems to hold exactly the line I want all the way. Great disc that behaves like different discs when thrown in different plastics.

Seriously. Get an opto pure and when they release a gold line, get one of those too. My shield stamped GL pure is a thing of beauty. I throw this on a hyzer about 220' and it's just so easy and pretty to watch. Very dependable flight. Think beadless wizard.

Opto Pure. Driving putter predictable fade that glides forever. Handles a good amount of power without flipping. Excels on windy days for short approaches. Superb disc. Zero Line, Grip Line, Eze Line will wear-in, less stable, and a good choice for actual putting.

The Pure gets a lot of love from a lot of people, but I'm not as big a fan as some others. I like a beaded putter, and the Pure's beadless rim feels a little odd in my hands for putts and even approach shots. Where I agree with the Pure fans is as a driver - this putter excels at maintaining a clean line for a large chunk of the flight. It goes where you put it with consistency and great control. It won't fly very far - for that I prefer an Axis for mid-range type drives - but it's great at the shorter ones or the more open-aired downhillers.
