I would say that this is more of an intermediate disc than something I'd recommend for a beginner. Potentially a problem of mine being in the more durable plastic, this disc didn't seem to like flipping up. I could get it to, but I needed a full power shot that lost out on a lot of control and didn't leave me in a better spot than if I threw something in a more base plastic. The disc feels great in design, but the dome would make you think that it has more glide than it actually does.

Disc: 167g Champion Valkyrie (dark green dyed, practically camouflage with the grass...smh)

The Valkyrie was the first driver I received when getting into the sport of disc golf and it was the first disc I really got to turn and fly for max distance. A solid driver for sure

Flight: The Valkyrie has that big turn and big fade, which makes it a fun drive to get some good distance with. It was the first driver I could get that good S curve with, and I think that flight is what makes the Valkyrie famous. Good long S curves.

Uses: I used the valk for big open drives that I want good distance with. A nice smooth throw gets me that solid turn and then flexes back for good distance. The valkyrie is also a solid forehand driver. Just make sure you don't overpower it, as it will turn into a throwler on you if it's beat in.

Summary: I really like the Valkyrie. I recommend it to newer players that are ready to start using drivers. I've since taken it out of my bag as I have other disc that I can similar flights without worrying about rolling with, but I do recommend the Valkyrie as it is a great disc.

I think this disc is terrific i saw it at the store and picked it up because it had a cool cover and i wanted to use it. Once i threw it i knew it was going to be good it feels great in my hand and flies predictably this would be a great disc for any beginner or if you are playing a one disc round

This disc was an unexpected surprise for me. I was in a store one day and picked it up for fun, it being a bit more toward unstable than most of my discs. My first day out with it ( a Champion Dyed version) was awesome. I was able to throw this disc much farther than I expected I would, and it flew as it should - slightly unstable but with fade enough to bring it around just to the left of center (RHBH) as it hit the ground.

I think this disc is a little underrated on the glide, as my copy just seems to hang in the air for quite some time. Turn/fade numbers are spot on, and there is a great "S" curve to the flight path.

If you're looking for a midrange to add to the bag, this should be in consideration.

Just an amazing disc, can easliy manipulated to do what you need. Very predictable flight and has many uses. Excelent for beginners. Does not like to be thrown forehand tho (IMO). Always my recomendation as a first disc for someone trying to learn the sport. If I had to play a round with only one disk, I would choose the Valkyrie.
