Innova Pro Line uses a special blend of plastics that provide unique qualities for each disc model. The different blends of Pro Line plastic produce discs with a wide range of rigidity from extremely soft to firm and stiff.

Pro plastic is more durable than DX, and provides a better grip than Champion Plastic. Discs in pro plastic tend to be slightly more understable than counterparts of the same mold in other premium plastic blends.

I've bagged a Thunderbird for quite a while, but only recently have found the right shot for it. I now use it at least 5-6 times per round on my local course. When I don't need the full distance, and I want something to go fast, low, and straight with a dependable but still mild fade at the end, this is it. I feel like I can place this driver right where I want. It's a good 50 ft or more short of my other drivers, but I'm also not trying to throw it at max distance.

    Pro Thunderbird 175 gram Experience

This is one disc that will always be in my bag. I carry two Pro Thunderbirds with me (one beat in, one newer). It took me a while to work up to the Thunderbird, but I discovered that it's a wind-fighter. It feels like I throw this disc farther in storms.

There are two situations that I will always throw the Thunderbird:

1.) A head wind. I've had the best throws ever by using this disc in a headwind. It tracks straight with a reliable fade at the very end.

2.) Recalibrating my throw. From time to time, my throwing motion gets knocked off its game. I like the Thunderbird for getting back to the basics and getting my form back on track.

Looking for a fairway that flip up, turn a little bit and then fade? This is it! It may take some beating in, but this is one of the most reliable discs in my bag that I've had for years. Perfect for navigating tight woods, while also giving you options to weave through mandos if need be.

    171g Pro Thunderbird

This is one of my favorite fairway drivers, and probably my go to for hyzer shots. I really like this for straight fairways as I can get a nice little flex shot on this to get me into position. It has a nice predictable flight and fade for me so it is one of my most consistent drivers. I also like this for spike hyzer or forehand shots. On my forehands it flies almost perfectly straight and then gets a nice little fade at the end. I usually can get a 10-20ft putt on shots that are around 250ft in. I highly recommend this disc for anyone quite honestly.

The Thunderbird in pro plastic is like a cheat code. I can get this disc to flip to flat on a hyzer line, it holds an anhyzer line before coming back at the end, and I could imagine beginner players being able to get pretty good distance off of this disc because of how flippy it is. Players just starting out should try this disc before they reach for some beefy 12-speeder.

This is the most predictable disc I've ever thrown. I put it on the slightest anheiser and it sticks that line right to the end where it begins its slow, very predictable fade. I would definitely recommend this for any skill level, I would have 5 of these in my bag if I had the space. Very good for straight shots, or big heiser doglegs, just a great all around disc!

I picked one of these on a whim and wasn't a big fan at first (probably because of my noodle arm) but the more I used it the more I like it. Now it's one of my favorite discs. Very reliable flight, never turns over even in the strongest winds, and if I put it on a slight anhyzer it holds it for a good amount of time before fighting back. Definitely a fan of the pro plastic too

I have bagged a Pro Thunderbird ever since my friend gave it to me a couple months ago.  I like to use it for small flex shots, straight drives, forehand, and occasionaly spike hyzers, because the soft flexible plastic doesn't want to skip or roll, it just splats right next to the basket when thrown like a spike hyzer.  One thing I would note if you choose to get the Pro plastic for this disc is that is isn't as stable as you would expect,  I occasionaly have problems with it turning over when I don't want it to.  If you have a big arm you might want to check out Champion or Star plastic in max weight to make it less likely to turn over.  I can throw this disc almost as far as my Destroyer because of it's incredible glide.  If you like either the Teebird or the Eagle but want something with a little more speed, this is the disc for you.  But if you already have a problem with turning disc over, you might want to check out something like a Firebird or a TeeRex.  This disc is a great disc for beginners to start throwing real distance drivers or something looking for a step up from a Teebird.

I have found the premium plastics Thunderbirds to be a little too beefy for my arm speed for many shots. The pro thundy is much more workable. I bag the pro for a few situations.

I like throwing it low and flat for nice bullet straight control drives with a predictable fade at the end. I also like it for long sweeping hyzers. It handles light headwinds well, but can be blow off course by a strong gust. I keep a MF Thunderbird in the bag as a more stable complement.

The pro plastic has held up well to the rough terrain I play on and has a good grip to it.

I would not recommend this to a brand new beginner, but if you drive between 325-375, I think this will serve you better in a lot of cases than champ or star thundy.

I've only been throwing the pro thundy for about 6 months, so I will hold off on giving it 5 stars until I get more time with it.

It took a few rounds for me to learn where this disc fit in my bag. It's not a workhorse for me, but on certain shots, it's what the doctor ordered. My main driver is a Wraith, so this is a step down in speed and distance. I have to throw it a little softer with more control for it to behave properly (as the flight numbers indicate). It's great for tunnel shots with a reliable small fade and a strong turnover resistance. It's one of my favorite control drivers for the right shot. I've thrown it backhand and forehand and like it both ways.

This is one of my favorite discs in my bag. Very overstable driver that I can always rely on to fade back where I need it. I have the 172g and it flys exactly how I want it every time. I would note that if you do not put enough whip into it, then this disc seems to putter and FADE VERY STRONGLY.

The Pro Thunderbird, This disc is fantastic! I bought one to compliement my champion thunderbirds as a straight to slightly understable version.  It fills that gap very well.  Out of the box my 175 G flatter pro thunderbird just goes straight and then finishes left very softly.  After a few rounds on the disc now it still flies very straight but its starting to show some turn.  Start it off with a little bit of hyzer, it flips to flat, drifts very slightly to the right and then finishes flat.  I ordered 2 more after throwing this one.  The feel of the pro plastic is great, nice and grippy but not soft and floppy like G star.  The Pro Thunderbird is becoming my go to for dead straight control drives.  The Champion Thunderbird is still a great disc and I use mine a lot on the course.  The Champion Thunderbirds start out nice and overstable and work into a straight flyer, but these Pro Thunderbirds start out really straight and then work into a perfect hyzer flip understable control driver.

If i could give this 10 stars...i would.

This has replaced every other driver in my bag.

If you are a player not looking for max distance, this Thunderbird will do EVERYTHING.

I cannot overstate enough how amazing of a disc this is in pro plastic.

The lighter weights get every slightly more flippy also, as does the disc as it breaks in.

Again, buy 10 of these and cycle these through so you can wear them in.

Get a PRO THUNDERBIRD, love your life!

Fantastic disc, one of my go-to drivers. Comfortable for both backhand and forehand. Has a good amount of distance especially once broken in some to unlock more glide. When new, starts out with a dependable straight flight to decent amount of finish. As it breaks in, it starts to develop a little bit of turn and the finish gets milder. When really seasoned, it can hold a long, glidey turnover. A nice disc to cycle as you can get different flights out of it as it wears.

Staple in my bag is the pro thunderbird.  I can rip these dead straight and they finish with predictable fade. For a beginner player it might be too much disc to use, so step into it after you have had some practice. I use them for forehands and backhands.  Another plus of the pro plastic is price.  Grab an x-out disc for less than 10 bucks.  I have had no problem with durability over a couple seasons of my current bagger.  Compliments all of the Innova bird(firebird, teebird) discs very well.

Pro Thundy: like a Thunderbird, but with less pro. The Pro plastic version flies less stable; it reminds me of a worn-in Escape from the get-go. It also doesn't hold up as well as Star, though the grip is ever so slightly better. Overall, unless you want the increased turn, go for Star or Champ.

Bought a 167 Pro.  This disc is straight, just so straight, long and straight.  I first threw this one on a very windy day and this was the only disc in my bag that didn't get thrown all around by the wind.  Before I found this disc the FD- luster was my go to for a completely straight disc but always wanted a longer version of it.  Well this is it!  Quickly becoming my new favorite disc.

Added a few more to the bag and wanted to share the differences. I have a 166 and 175 both have good turn and decent fade.  They both fly around: 9, 5, -1.5, 1.5.  Great distance too.

Turns out you can make a full bag of shots with Thunderbirds!

Pro  Thunderbird 167g.  This one has been in my bag since day one.  I use the Pro Thunderbird for backhand hyzer lines and a sky high spike hyzer when I need one.  Mine seems to have more fade and less glide than the stated rating.  Grippy Pro plastic gives you that extra snap off the fingertips on cooler, drier days.  I throw some good forehand shots with this disc too.  Pro plastic is very under-rated and, for me, has proven more durable than expected.

This disc is one of my go to drivers. It is predictable and consistent across all plastic types and I can trust it when I am feeling iffy about a shot. Currently, I bag a beat in Pro for hyzer flips and turnovers, a newer Pro when I need a little more stability and extra grip, a Star for flex shots or big hyzers (once this gets beat in nicely, it will replace my beat in Pro), and a Metal Flake Champion. The MF Champ is super stable and can take a lot of power. I throw it on headwind drives and spike hyzer upshots.

I recommend that if you want to add this disc as a go to driver for your bag, start with a Pro and a Star. Let the Pro start to beat in first so that you have both a stable and slightly understable version in the bag. It is seriously one of the best drivers on the market.

Side note: I would actually list this disc in the Distance Driver category because it flies a long way. Newbies, don't by a Destroyer because everyone else throws it. Buy a Thunderbird.

I love the thunderbird. Ive had a couple underweight at 168g combined with the stability of the disc it holds straight as can be. It feels great in my hand and is the most consistent disc in my bag.

The pro thunderbird is a disc anyone can throw.  If you put power on it, it will flip.  If you don't it will glide very straight and not fade out until the very end.  Any one can throw this disc.

The Pro Thunderbird completely surprised me as my favorite thunderbird ever. I like a Glow Champion Thunderbird, and the Pro version is straighter with a lot more glide. To me it is almost exactly like a Star Thunderbird but it is much cheaper in price! If you're looking for a Star Thunderbird with a little more grip, or need a little more glide than a Champion Thunderbird, a Pro Thunderbird is the way to go.

I took my Pro Thunderbird to Solitude, a mountain course at 7000+ ft. elevation, and it was AWESOME! I am pretty sure a Pro Thunderbird has made my high elevation bag because of its superior glide. I will probably be throwing one at Solitude as long as Pro plastic stays as stiff and great feeling as it has lately (Early Summer 2016)
