By far my favorite disc I have ever owned so far. I had gotten this disc as one of my first 5, and it was amazing. If your form is getting consistent and you can throw a disc farther than 200 feet with relatively decent accuracy, then for the most part, this disc will fly exactly how you want it to. The DX plastic is Innova's lowest quality, so it gets easily tattered and it becomes SUPER flippy later in its life, but out the box, it is amazingly consistent.

Got this as part of a DX starter set, and it worked quite well for me -- better than the Destroyer that came with it, as I was new to disc golf discs (vs Frisbees). As with several other discs, the DX version takes a beating pretty quickly and mine became understable before too long (sharing it with other family members on a course with too many trees to hit). This became my son's favorite disc but the understability and 7 speed were making it hard for him to control it and get the distance he was capable of (now he favors the faster Sidewinder). I have used this as a loaner to friends just trying to get a taste of disc golf, and the TeeBird (even a beat-in, more understable one) has proven to work pretty well for slower arms. My daughter has used this effectively as her primary driver, and sometimes my wife will use it instead of her Leopard (for forehands, with about 150 ft power). I might try getting a version of this in a better plastic at some point for them, though I now have a TeeBird3 and a Thunderbird in Star plastic, so not likely to put a TeeBird back in my personal bag.

Got this disc as a beginner and loved it ever since. But as I improve it is getting a little too understable, but I still like it. I have it in the DX plastic so I have to be carful not to beat it in too much.

The DX Teebird from Innova is a solid disc in base plastic. If I were reviewing a star or champ Teebird I would absolutely give 5 stars, but in DX it just doesn't quote get there. In base plastic this disc is a great option for a beginner looking for a fairway that has has a straight flight with decent stability. However, mine started turning over as my arm speed got better even with minimal wear. Still a great disc but got kicked out of the bag by its faster cousin. If you are a beginner I would absolutely give this thing a go in DX, but otherwise I would recommend a premium plastic.

The Teebird is magical. I have a high weight champion and my girlfriend has a low weight dx and we both love them dearly. A dependable straight fairway driver is one of the most valuable possible discs, and I've never found a better one. My champion has a little stability so I can really crank on it and still know it will do what I want. I was using it to hit lines in the woods all day today. What a spectacular disc!

I have fallen in love with the DX version of this disc. It has become my go-to driver. I originally bought it to work on my forehand since it was more overstable than any discs that I had, but as I've used it more it has become a very straight flying disc and one that I can easily turn over. If I release it flat with no wind, it will turn over a little and then fade slightly back to about straight. I think a beginner can use this as an overstable driver when it's brand new, and as they use it more and more it will turn into a very straight and easy to throw driver.

The Teebird was my first ace disc. This is one of my favorite discs being a forehand dominant player. It is dependently over stable out of the box but as it beats in it becomes a reliable straight fairway disc but still retains the ability and over stableness to deliver on hyzer shots.

I really love this disc...  I got it in DX plastic just to test it out, and now I have to upgrade.  Feels great in the hand.  Never turns over on me no mater how hard i throw it.  Will go laser straight for days before a very smooth, mild fade at the finish.  Has quickly become one of my go to discs.

The teebird is a great disc! I first got it because I wanted an overstable counterpart to my leopard. What I quickly found, however, was that it was much more stable than overstable in the DX plastic. I quickly adjusted to its stable nature and I now love it!

The teebird is a great disc to use when you want to throw soft hyzer shots and not have an insane amount of fade at the end. It will go where you direct it to go with minimal fade, from my experience. It also holds flight really well and keeps its high speed for a long time. I find myself frequently going for my teebird when I have a 150-200 ft drive and need a disc that will stay true to its flight. 5/5!

As a brand new player, this disc has taken me a month or so to learn to throw well. Now that I've gotten used to it, it's easily my most reliable and accurate disc for throwing between 200-250 feet. The overstability of the disc also makes it great for throwing on windy days.

Flies pretty overstable out of the box, but when it beats in it will have a much less pronounced fade at the end. Great off the tee at most shorter holes near me. The Teebird will skip quite a distance if it hits the ground at the right angle, and who doesn't love a little extra distance? Only one caveat: it does not fight back against an anhyzer release very well. Often if I put even slightly too much anny on a throw, the Teebird will simply hold that angle for the entirety of its flight instead of ever flipping for the fade.

I found one of these with no name while searching the brush for my disc after an errant throw. I threw it several times and never actually found a home in my bag. I kept it for field work and overall would say it is a good disc and especially a good disc for a beginner learning the sport. It is overstable and great for learning hyzer angles and thats mainly what I practice with it. I have other discs I use in my bag that I already love. I would recommend it as a beginner overstable driver or utility disc for intermediate.

The Teebird was probably the first disc I ever learned how to throw a good backhand with, as I started playing disc golf as a dominantly overhand and flick shot player. Once I acquired one of these discs, it was only a matter of time until my game evolved. I had the disc in dx plastic at about 168 grams and leaned on it heavily until I decided to upgrade to the champion plastic at the same weight. The dx plastic always stayed true to me as a beginner backhand thrower so I decided to give my friend who was trying to get into the sport that disc when I decided to grab the same mold in a different plastic. The flight is overstable when thrown in flick shots and backhands and this is a great disc to learn to control angles with. I believe this may be THE fairway driver for beginners because of everything staying true and consistent throughout the flight and the life of the disc. I am happy to have gotten this disc almost right away as a disc golfer and I recommend anyone starting out playing disc golf do the same as I did because it really evolved my game.

For backhand this is my go to.  I'm still very new to the disc golf scene.  I've noticed with this disc that it lets me know what I'm doing wrong without severe punishment.  When thrown correctly, it's going to go exactly where it's aimed and fade just a little at the end.

Thrown forehand, this thing will go a long way.  It's the first disc I've been able to get over 400' with.  Back in my high school days, I used to pitch baseball sidearm.  Putting that same technique to use, it's possible to get this thing to tail off about 100' at the end of the shot (see first 400' foot throw reference).  Cut back the power and it's perfect for the forehand hyzer play.

The dx  teebird is a very reliable disc.It holds any line.It is one of the best beginner discs. If you want to throw it full power, you need to put it on a baby hyser. This is one of my first discs. The plastic makes it one of my most understable discs. If beginners are looking for a good disc they should try this one.If you have a lot of power you probably shouldn't throw a DX teebird. But overall it is a great beginner disc.

One of my favorite discs before I lost it in a pond. Flies true to the flight numbers. Got this right when I started playing and I'd say it's a step up from the leopard. It flew so straight and had a very reliable fade at the end which everybody needs. Overall, amazing disc for EVERYONE.

This is a disc that I bought when I first got into disc golf.  It has a very predictable straight flight path with a small fade at the end of the flight.  I used this disc for pretty much every shot, I threw backhand hyzers, backhand flexes, backhand turnovers, forehand hyzers, forehand flexes(this was a favorite of mine) and forehand turnovers.  The only problem with this disc being in DX plastic is that eventually it just got to understable to use for anything other than rollers or hyzer flips.  This is a disc that I think every disc golfer needs to try out regardless of skill lever, I will definitely be buying a new one in premium plastic to extend it's lifetime.

DX Teebird should be on every beginners short list. It starts out a little overstable for beginner arms, but once it's been beaten in a little it makes a great, glidey, slight turning disc. It is complemented well by another great beginner disc, the DX Leopard.

I bagged one for a long time, but it has since left the bag for more durable plastic options. In my opinion, the closest thing to a dx teebird in a premium plastic is a g-line or maybe s-line Discmania FD.

I wish I could give the DX teebird a 4.5/5, but I'll bump it up to 5 given the value proposition of DX plastic.

What is there left to be said about the Teebird? It is the disc that helped Ken Climo conquer the Disc Golf world. It is the quintessential stable fairway and all manufacturers are still trying to put out a decent imitation.

For this review, I am going to focus on the DX Teebird and talk about how amazing it is and how everyone should bag them. The glide is insane. They stay true to release angle even after significant wear. And the way they season, losing fade but maintaining high speed stability, is absolutely magical.

EVERYONE, from beginner to PRO, can make use of a DX Teebird.

I love this disc. I just wish it held up to more abuse. This thing will fly straight and true when you get on it a little bit. After about 20 wooded rounds this thing looked like Frankenstein and didn't like to flex. If you want to maintain it's stability, I would go for a different plastic.

I found a really beat up DX Teebird in some bushes.  I was blown away with the accuracy and distance I got with this old disc.  I've been thinking about picking up another Teebird, maybe in GStar plastic, but I'm not sure it will fly as nice as this oldie but goodie.  I'll update it and when I get another Teebird in my bag.  But I would say to anyone that has a Teebird and isn't having much luck with it, beat it up and it'll fly.

I may be a bit nostalgic on this disc. The first few times I played disc golf with my roommate he let me choose the disc I wanted from his collection to use. I kept choosing this one, admittedly because it was purple with a gold stamp (I'm a Baltimore Ravens fan as well, those are their colors). I had no clue about flight numbers back then. I'd played with frisbees  alot in my youth so it wasn't a completely foreign motion to throw a disc. I didn't have good form for disc golf throws though; no X-step, lots of rounding, Even so, this disc with it's lower speed and high glide flew wonderfully and , looking back on the throws, the fade seemed lighter than a 2. I would go so far as to say it's fade was a 0.5 to 1. I want to buy one of my own since I still borrow it on days when I'm forgetful and leave the house thinking my bag is already in my truck and it's not. Low speed drivers are nice for new players and if you can control your angles this disc will stay in the bag for a long time if you have one.

This is one of my more favored discs for long, straight throws. I bought/traded a friend for it after he had it for several rounds and had beat it in some. If I throw it hard it will flip up and hang for 200'-225'. If I throw it slower the fade begins to show back up again from when it was first purchased. Just an all-around solid fairway driver when you need that straighter line. My only drawback is that I am starting to overthrow it (RHBH) at times causing it to hook out hard right and never come back. If I am having a good day I have to remember to power down or lose a stroke. Still, it has a place in my current bag.

Profile: Thin rim but the depth is noticeable, somewhere between moderate to deep.  Feels good in the hand.

Flight:  Straight, Straight, Straight. Did I mention this disc goes straight?  This is my laser beam when I need to go right down the middle.  Brand new Dx and it holds up to a full power throw and just a minimal fade at the end.

Comparison: Haven't found any other brand with a similar flight

Final Thoughts: I always hear about how amazing the firebird is, but I think those people have bigger arms.  For those of us with moderate arms this disc will be a staple in your bag.

I ordered a teebird from here the other day and I love it! As a newer player, this disc was easier to throw correctly than the 9 speed drivers I currently have. I would recommend this disc for those starting out their game as a great control driver. This disc has a great reputation for a reason. It flies stright, has a little fade, and it easy to throw. I think any player could benefit from bagging one of these discs! I use this disc for tight shots, straight throws, and drives over 300 feet. I've heard it only gets better as it wears in as well.

The teebird is my go to disc for almost any shot I throw over 250 feet. I have 3 I cycle IN dx plastic. When fresh they fly almost Lazer straight with a good fade. I would say the turn might be closer to.25. Hit some trees and it starts to lose its fade and becomes almost straight for its hole flight and becomes a wonderful hyzer flip disc. Hit some more trees and it start to get a decent turn and hold it the whole way basicly. A few more trees and it becomes a roller disc. My teebird roller can be released at more than a 45 degree angle and still end up crashing down on the other side as a roller if given enough space and time. Amazing disc must try.

Okay, here is my story: I met a person yesterday in his 50s and started playing with him. He had just bought Teebird in DX plastic; I think it was max weight. I have heard a lot about Teebird: Avery Jenkins and Climo and most pros use this disc as their go to fairway driver. So, I thought lets give it a try. I ripped that disc and it went 300 ft easily. I totally fell in love with Teebird right away and was going to buy it soon. Well, I went to play this morning with couple of my disc golf friends. I threw my Katana in a par 4 hole and it landed in the water. Guess what? I went in to the pond and all of sudden what I found was 12x Champion Teebird. Later, I pulled out my Katana and got Champion Teebird at the same time. I couldn't be happier than that. I haven't thrown the disc yet and kind of suspicious about champion plastic. I know I can bomb many discs in dx plastic in the true line of innova chart, but I find champion plastic a little overstable for me. I will be back tomorrow to give my review about champion teebird.

My DX TeeBird (150g) is one of the best disc purchases I have made to date. It flies very straight with a little fade at the end. The TeeBird will go just where you throw it every time. I might recommend getting a heavier weight than I did though, because the wind will take this disc up and you'll lose a lot of distance. I think with a heavier disc you could really take strokes off your play easily. If your in doubt over which fairway driver to get, a TeeBird is an excellent choice.

There is a reason this is the highest rated fairway driver... it's simply amazing. At any skill level, from a first time player to 12x World Champ Ken Climo, this disc can do so much if you have them in various stages of wear. A DX Teebird is the second disc I ever bought, and I used it all the time... perhaps too often. I just felt confident in the disc to the job right. I currently use a Star Teebird just so that it gets beat in a little slower, and I'm loving it on any shot around 300 ft. Get yourself a Teebird, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

this is by FAR my favorite second shot disc. It is as reliable from 150' out as it is from 40'. Also serves as an accurate "light touch" forehand drive disc on shorter holes. Generally a consistent accurate disc when thrown on a flat line, I have used this disc in DX plastic as a putter on several occasions with good results. In fact, i feel more accurate throwing this disc than i do my Aviar classic.

Probably the smartest thing you can put in your bag for whatever skill level. If you're a beginner a DX Teebird can be your max D overstable wind fighting driver. As you progress and get better you will get more in other plastics yet still love this disc. It's the one disc I can reach for when I don't know what else to throw and instantly give me confidence. Fights wind, bad form, and anything else you can do to make it not work and it still works. Best rating I can give for any disc.
