The Rhyno is a popular slow-flying overstable putter with very little glide. This disc features a Thumbtac groove that helps provide excellent grip and controlled shots. The overstable nature of this disc makes it good for headwinds and short drives where you don’t want to overshoot the basket.

I find that a lot of the premium plastic rhynos are super domey. I was able to trade a couple with a buddy for some that are super flat, and I love them. I putted with the r-pro rhyno for a long time, but that's now become one of my favorite approach discs. I bag one in champion when I need some extra ground play to scoot up to the basket. Great disc.

Champ Rhynos are very similar to pigs in a lot of ways, maybe a touch less overstable. It has a thumbtrack, it has very little glide so they get down to the ground quick, and once it hits ground it doesn't like to do much. I like it both backhand and forehand, it feels really comfortable, and holds up well in most conditions making it a great overstable approach disc for many. Its my go to overstable approach disc for shots less than 275 ft. If you like pigs, you will probably like rhynos too!

Saw Calvin throw these so I thought I'd try it. I do not throw like Calvin...

Very good overstability, very slow, very dumpy fade. I just cant do much else with it

Feel - I love the feel of the rhyno, it isn't too deep and I actually really like the thumb track. I get clean releases on both forehand and backhand.

Flight - The rhyno is a great approach disc. It does not have very much glide and it is fairly overstable. I really love my rhyno for short overstable backhand approaches or probably my favorite shot, a short anhyzer forehand. The rhyno is overstable enough to slowly pan and land flat but won't flex out of it unless you put it super high.

I love my rhyno and it will probably never leave my bag and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because it isn't nearly as overstable as advertised. I would say maybe a fade of 2 instead of 3. It also is not very torque resistant so you will need to have a lot of touch to throw this on forehand and probably won't be able to throw full power forehands.

I used to put with this back in the day. It had a reliable fade, tad over on stability, and feels great in hand with the pronounced rim.

Well, first things first, this certainly ain't a pig.  I have thrown pigs for a long time and these are completely different.  My Rhyno flys more like my Berg than anything else.  So don't believe the "it's a pig with a bead" comments.  The rim is considerably thinner, the flight plate is usually domey, it has a bead, and it is not as overstable or torque resistant FH as the pig.

With that being said this a lovely throwing putter in its own right.  The Ryhno is stable, torque resistant, and gets little ground play.  If you love thumb tracks consider getting one.  It will have a place next to my Berg in the bag!  Overall a solid approach disc.  The only downside is that it is not as torque resistant to forehands as I expected.  I cannot crank on this FH like I would a pig, invader, berg, or toro.

    it's definitely growing on me

At first I didn't like it but that's because I didn't understand the purpose, which is basically an overstable Berg.

It's ground play is minimal, nice OS finish, good torque resistance, and low glide. It's definitely a throwing putter to be used for a straighter approach with an OS finish. It is nothing like a Zone or any 3 speed approach.

I'm bagging it for now, we'll see if it stays.

One of my all time favorite throwing putters. Has a lid type shape, but it is low profile and fits in the hand well. Very predictable as a throwing putter. Has very low glide and plenty of stability. You can rip on this putter and it will fly straight and far even in some wind, but you can also throw it with finesse, and it will fly straight, with a touch of fade. It stops on a dime as well, making it a great disc for avoiding over shooting targets. If you have trouble controlling your putter throws, this is an excellent disc to help with that

I carry lots of Rhynos. I'm a bit of a Thumbtrack junkie. I love the feel, the flight and the ground action of this mold. I have a 175g Champion that is VERY overstable for hard throws, hard fade and putts in a tornado. It has a very stiff feel. Next is a 166g Champion iDye that is straight to understable. The clear, lighter weight plastic is very flexible in the hand. Then, a 175 Pro Rhyno for easy, floaty shots that need to stick to the ground. This disc can't take any real power. Just touch shots. The heavy Champion disc is always in my bag. Sometimes the other two are traded out for a DX version. It has such a good feel that it takes a lot of decision making off of my mind when it's time to approach.

It's all about the feel. That's why there are 800 million approach discs out there. Rhyno's work for my game. I'll always have at least one.

I have bagged the Champion Rhyno for a good while and I see it staying that way for a good while longer. It is my work horse approach disc because its so versatile and consistent. I can rip it flat and not worry about it flipping over or going to far. I can throw it soft on a forehand and let it come in and land soft near the basket. Basically if Im within 175 feet of the basket this is the disc Im going to be throwing. Just go get one. You'll love it.

I LOVE THIS DISC. This disc is an excellent placement disc for upshots near the basket. In champion plastic the Rhyno is very beefy and loves to sit QUICK. Mine is 170G and even then is still very over stable and loves to nestle up near the basket. With the beaded edge I've found that it digs into the ground a little better than other approach discs like the zone and because of this it avoids roll-a ways better. I personally would not recommend using this disc as a forehand approach disc as with the bead it can be a little sharp and uncomfortable. If you're looking for a forehand approach disc with a similar feel I would look to the Innova Pig. Overall this disc excels for backhand layup shots that you want to stick near the basket.

I absolutely love this disc! I was introduced to it by one of my good friends. He constantly made claims about the incredible accuracy he found with this disc.

I considered for a long time about swapping for this disc. I was convinced when I watched Calvin Heimburg use this disc as his straight up-shot disc in pro-level tournaments.

I now use this disc in all conditions as my short to medium up-shot disc. I can put this disc on flat to anhyzer and it slowly fades back into a nice flat-hyzer finish. This disc lands pretty flat and sticks well on challenging landing zones.

I would recommend this disc to intermediate to advanced players who need a super accurate approach disc. The Champion Rhyno is great for backhands and flick forehand throws alike.

Very reliable and stable. Would recomend!

Great approach disc. I bought this disc because i wanted something like the Innova Pig but with a bead, as i prefer my putters and midranges to have a bead on them which really helps with torque resistance. 1st i bought a black R-Pro Rhyno being a fan of the Innova R-Pro type plastic. When the disc arrived i was blown away at the feel of the plastic. maybe because it was black but it was unlike any R-Pro i have felt in the past. it was so soft and rubbery i was beginning to question what the disc was. it was softer than gstar which really confused me. i could literally roll up this disc like a cigar it was so soft. whether it was plastic related or not this disc was way to straight flying for what i was looking for. i bought another Rhyno in Champion plastic which came quite sharp on the bottom. this disc had alot more fade but still not quite like the pig, nor did it feel slower than the pig. Great disc overall just not as over stable as advertised.

This is my review of the Rhyno in Champion plastic, which I don't like. I have three issues with the Rhyno: 1. It's uncomfortable in my hand. Like the Aviar, this disc's rim is too thin and too deep to power grip, which is the grip I prefer for shots over 150 feet; the sharpness of the rim is bad. 2. It does not have a glide of 1 or a fade of 3, so the flight numbers are wrong; I was looking for a disc that would fade hard under 225 feet, and get to the ground and stick, and this disc is less good at doing that than ... 3. The Pig is much better: It's much more comfortable in the hand and is better at sticking by the basket, and it flies faster than the Rhyno while also having the reliable hard fade that it says and then sticking by the basket. The Hawg is also better than the Rhyno for this slot, but not as good as the Pig, and there's no situation where I would use the Rhyno over the Pig, forehand or backhand.

My main putter and favorite approach disc. Shaved several strokes off my game because it sticks where it lands and it's low glide. If I miss a putt, I have a short come back. Great off the tee too.

The Innova Rhyno is a fantastic disc but not for the reason that I originally bought it. When I bought it I was hoping for a Zone or Harp type disc and that's not what this disc is. The rhyno will go straight for a decent amount of time and then have a gentle fade at the end of its flight. The rhyno has very little glide which is very helpful for up shots and even drives. It is becoming one of my favorite throwing putters because of the lack of glide and consistent fade. The disc is fairly deep and not super comfortable for my forehand grip so I mostly use it for backhands and use a gator or suspect for forehand up shots or drives. The thumb track is hardly noticeable for backhands and is nice to have on wet or cold days just to provide a little extra grip. Overall I would say that this disc is fantastic for short up shots and short drives.

I have since gotten a Gstar rhyno and it flies similarly to the champion but a bit straighter

The best Thumbtrac mold Innova makes, hands-down. While the Pig has made a resurgence recently, the Rhyno is extremely comfortable in the hand and the limited glide gets it from point A to point B without much interference from the wind. It may not be as overstable as a gator or croc, but just as reliable. 200' and in, this thing is stellar.

I had hoped this would be alot more reliable for me but i just couldnt get it to work.

It is fairly over stable and that worked fine, it could be counted on in the wind. But the thing was rolly and would never stick on hillside puts. which most courses in my area have.

This works pretty well as a short hole tee putter though. Have had at least 2 aces with it.

Just doesnt make the cut for my limited bag space. But it is in my secondary bag.

I was hoping that the Rhyno would be a good wind putter but the Rhyno I bought seemed inconsistent with the flight ratings.  Is turns on every shot even missing circle 1 putts by half a disc.  When thrown with power it turns significantly.  It only has minimal fade towards the end of flight.  I am sticking with my Pure for now.

Review is a 175 gram Champion Rhyno.

The Rhyno is awesome, both off the tee, for upshots and yes, forehand as well. Fell in love with this quickly due to the consistency, as well as the comfortable grip. I have had many beginners start out trying this out of my bag (grow the sport) to show that sometimes the beginning try-out discs never leave. No compliants, i have cycled through many discs, and this is up to tie with the Pig as my favorite overstable putter. If you have wind like i do here in maine, or play wooded courses where you need CONSISTENT fade, bag a rhyno (preferably from Infinite Discs) and you'll be very happy with how it flies

    Numbers for me is 2/2/0/2.5ish

If you are just starting out, try to find one in the DX plastic 160gram range, if a long time player grab a max weight in champ or R-pro for you spin putters.

If you’ve ever wanted to throw a steak on a course, throw the Rhyno, instead. At least it’s PDGA Approved. It’s fun, too.

If you’ve ever wanted to throw a steak at a vegan basket, from a neighboring state, throw it in 167g or lighter, hard champion plastic. That part isn’t as fun. It will sail for days, though. Steaks don’t travel quite so well.

    Steak: 0, Rhyno: 2.

P.S.: Soft, gummy plastics are best.

P.P.S.: I actually rated it 4/5, but it's showing up as 1/5 for some reason.

175 gram slight dome Champ Rhyno

I was looking for a forehand approach disc when I decided to give the Rhyno a chance. The first thing to note is that the Rhyno flies like the numbers indicate. If you are looking for a disc that has these flight numbers then it could be what you are looking for. My issue with the Rhyno is due to the grip. The Rhyno feels very clunky in the hand. I never felt like I a good comfortable grip and that usually translated into bad shots. I know quite a few people that swear by them but it seems like it is an acquired taste.

It's not that good for putting, but it is awesome! Champion and GStar have been really similar in my experience.

Here are some shots to consider:

Driving in a headwind, tailwind, crosswind, any wind. It does not give a sh*t about the wind. Seriously!

Hitting exactly where you need it to. By this I mean that goes straight and starts to sink very predictably without rolling or skipping. When you lean how it sinks, you can pinpoint a spot on the fairway, hilltop, etc, and it will just sit there.

Anhyzer putts!!! Need to go around a tree with the basket to the right, but don't want to end up 50ft on the other side if you miss? This is the putter for you. My friends hate to play horse with me when I have this disc.

Upshots: Upshots with a slight anhyzer angle RHBH do ever-so-slightly to the right before slowly dropping ever-so-slightly to the right. Upshots with a hyzer just hyzers that way and sticks where it hits.

    The Bad:

    1) It sinks, so for a far put you have to throw it up which means you'll be far left and past the basket if you miss.

    2) You power to make it do all the wonderful things it can do.

Recently acquired a Champion (Rancho) Rhyno.  This disc surprised me and exceeded my expectations.  It has more glide than I expected, then it consistently fades.  It does not skip as much as I'd expected, which is another bonus.  I threw the Rhyno around obstacles and when the wind is beating my face, and the Rhyno has performed admirably.  II don't putt with it, but it's a really good, solid, consistent, reliable approach disc.

I have a Champion Rhyno that was given to my by a friend. I was looking for an overstable putter and he didn't use is Rhyno anymore so he gave it to me, this was about a year ago. Every since then the Rhyno has stayed in my bag. I don't putt with the Rhyno, but it is a great disc for short drives and upshots. It holds a great hyzer line and is just a fun disc to throw. I can put a lot of power into it and not worry about it flipping over or flying over the basket. It is very predictable and stays right where it hits the ground without any skips. It is the only putter in my bag besides wizards and as of right now I do not see myself taking the Rhyno out anytime soon.

I like the Rhyno for spin putting in high winds. On normal days, the disc seems to be rather sensitive - some putts seem to dive quickly.  The one thing great about the Rhyno - it doesn't roll away when it lands.  It is almost worth carrying for those baskets sitting on a hill.  I've tried to use this as an approach disc but I get inconsistent results.  I prefer the DGA Breaker for those approaches and the Judge for putting purposes.

Wow. I'm seriously the first to  review the Rhino??? Well, let me do the honors.

I'm sure that there are some incredible putters out there, but I would be hard pressed to find one that responds just as precisely as the Rhino. It's super stable, and if you have one heavy enough it will drop right in basket with ease.

This is a great putter. I have the Champion plastic and it's super accurate from 200 and in, and is so over stable you can crank the snot out of it with no flipping. The glide rating is lower than my gut says it should be since I can throw it as far as an Avair which has a higher rating. Don't usually use the champ to go I. The basket , it's more for approaches with my current mix but only because the champ plastic isn't at all sticky.
