The Leopard is the classic, straight-flying Innova fairway driver. This disc is very popular in starter sets thanks to the reliable flight path and limited fade. It’s not the fastest flying disc (speed 6) but new players will likely see more distance with the Leopard than just about any other disc. While the Leopard is great for beginners, it can be found in bags of more advanced players as well. With moderate throws this disc is perfect for weaving between narrow lines of trees. It also makes a good turnover driver that slices to the right, and a good roller disc as well. If you want a great disc to perfect your throwing technique, buy a handful of inexpensive DX Leopards and head to a field.

    Pro Details

Innova Pro Line uses a special blend of plastics that provide unique qualities for each disc model. The different blends of Pro Line plastic produce discs with a wide range of rigidity from extremely soft to firm and stiff.

Pro plastic is more durable than DX, and provides a better grip than Champion Plastic. Discs in pro plastic tend to be slightly more understable than counterparts of the same mold in other premium plastic blends.

I love Leopards. As has been mentioned, there are few better first drivers for beginners than the Leopard. However, don't make the mistake of thinking this disc is only for novices - there are so many uses and things the Leopard can teach even advanced players. Some of the reviews of this disc are based on the disc that comes in the Innova starter pack - that is a DX Leopard, often around 150 grams. A fine disc for someone brand new without athletic background, or a child picking up the game, but that disc will fly like a pie plate for anyone with a modicum of arm speed. Don't judge the Leopard on that.

In a premium plastic, you will be surprised by the Leopard's initial stability. Max weight in Champion will probably fly more like a slighly seasoned Teebird for intermediate players, but it will eventually beat in to a great turnover disc that will hold a sweet spot a long time. The money plastic for Leopards imo is Pro. Out of the box it has that gorgeous, panning right turn before finishing with a baby fade when thrown flat. This disc will help you master the hyzerflip. Once you do, it's a laser beam tunnel disc. Put a smidge of anhyzer on it and it will pan right for the entire flight. Superb glide, and sneaky big distance. I can easily get these out to 300'. Pro has a great feel while still maintaining a good level of durability above DX. So much more than a starter disc - if Drew Gibson can throw this disc, you don't have too much arm speed for it. I've been playing for over 10 years and I still bag one as the only understable mid/fairway in my bag.

This is for a  "Pro" plastic Leopard.  None of the other Leopard plastics worked as good.  Really it's about a 4.5.  It has a very predictable flight.  I usually can't throw hard enough to make it turn over.  I would give it a 5, but it doesn't quite go as far as I would like.  Using a lighter weight definitely helps.

I recently got a new pro leopard that I am very pleased with. It will just glide and glide. Just today I made a 100 ft. plus birdie shot with it. I also have an old DX one that is very understable from use. I don't use it much because of its understability.

i love stiff pro leopards, as do most serious leopard throwers but in the soft pro that's out lately, this thing becomes the swiss army knife of molds. Stiff pro leopards are awesome drivers, but the soft pro allows it to become a great approach disc, as well...hell, I even putt with it. The soft stuff molds up a little flatter, too, and doesn't get as beat up as the stiff stuff, either (in my experience), and once it does, it still holds onto some low speed stability. Probably my favorite mold/platic combo.

Fantastic disc. This is a disc any skilled player can get a lot of. Beginners, you should start throwing mids, but when you inevitably step up to a driver this is the disc to start with. A stiffer, older run Pro Leo flies like the disc was intended to if you ask me. Small turn at first with great glide, and after a little while turns a bit more and loses a bit of it's fade. Basically it flies like a longer beat-in Roc, which is why it makes such a great first driver. Driver feel with a longer mid flight. I  also feel the stiffer older runs in Pro hold up better over time. This disc is best without max power and flies best when you give it some air time (like a mid range). It is noticably slower than the Leopard3, definitely has a bit of dome, and the Leopard3 is better for lower lines. You aren't going to throw 400 ft with this disc, but if you're breaking 320 with a leopard you're throwing right and will no doubt get props from the Bros.

The Pro Leopard is my go to for straight driver around 320-350 feet away. It always flies super straight with a slight move to the right (RHBH). The pro plastic allows for the discs to slightly beat in but keep its natural flight.  The plastic is grippy by not Gstar like. It holds up in all weather! Great Disc

Awesome beginner driver that then (for me at least) transitioned into a good control driver to learn a variety of different shots. As my arm speed and form get better, I'll maybe shift up to a leopard3 so as not to turn it over to easily.

This is the disc that gave me my first "wow" moment in watching a disc fly.  The first disc I ever got that pretty s-turn out of, that made me fall in love with the game on a new level.  Even now a few years later, I keep this one in the bag and use it regularly. I play a lot in the woods, and I love the ability to shape shots around trees and to find lines with the understability of the leopard.  Even after a few years use, and being Pro plastic, I haven't noticed a huge change in shot shape as the disc has broken in, which has been a pleasant suprise!

The most forgoten and underrated disc that everyone could benefit from having in their bag is the Leopard. For beginners, the Leopard provides easy, controllable distance without a hard fade. For more advanced golfers, it can be hyzer-flipped for laser beam tunnel shots or thrown flat without alot of power for shots that turn the entire flight.

This was the disc I first learned to control. Living in NH, all the local courses are heavily wooded and having straight, controllable shots is more important than distance.

This isnt my biggest distance, but at around 250-300' its easily my most cosustant and controllable disc. I kno with a controlled whip utll end staight in front or a touch to the rt. Uf u overpower ir anny shes going to turn and not comeback. And a hyzer will stay left, as i said most controlled driver in my bag. Plus this is my favorite to hand to newer players. I keep several weights a 150,168,2-172 , 175. My pro 172 is my fav. While my gf loves her 150 whenwind allows
