The Leopard is the classic, straight-flying Innova fairway driver. This disc is very popular in starter sets thanks to the reliable flight path and limited fade. It’s not the fastest flying disc (speed 6) but new players will likely see more distance with the Leopard than just about any other disc. While the Leopard is great for beginners, it can be found in bags of more advanced players as well. With moderate throws this disc is perfect for weaving between narrow lines of trees. It also makes a good turnover driver that slices to the right, and a good roller disc as well. If you want a great disc to perfect your throwing technique, buy a handful of inexpensive DX Leopards and head to a field.

Looking for an slightly under stable control driver? Look no further you have found it with the star leopard. True to it's flight numbers. I prefer the lighter weights since wind is not too big a factor on the courses I can get to.

I was gifted a Champion Leopard by a more experienced player, for which I was very grateful. I didn't understand how to appreciate this disc at first. It does seem more stable in Champion than in other plastics, but now that I have more experience, I am learning to love this disc in a new way. It can be cranked on a flat release to get nice gentle turning shots out to 250'+, or flipped up to flat on a shot at similar distances. It's pretty predictable because it's flies as you'd expect - a longer midrange or short fairway driver. However, it definitely feels more like a fairway driver in the hand and can get great distance with a hard throw. All of these properties make it obvious why it's so popular as a starter disc and introduction to drivers. I'm looking forward to trying it out more as I gain experience, and it would be one of my first recommendations or gifts as a hand-me-down to a new player. You might explore the non-Champion plastics for more understability.

My mistake was getting this disc in the champion plastic. I would highly recommend it in another lighter variety for a controlled understable drive even at mid to low speeds. However I have been unable to get the same results I love in this kind of disc out of the champion plastic variety.

This is the first disc I felt truly comfortable throwing off the tee. Should be every beginners first Driver. Gives you plenty of glide to feel great about shots early on.

One of my first drivers, works well for beginners just looking to throw straight and have some extra distance because of the glide. Can sometimes be hard to control due to the wind, but otherwise great!

love this disc for about 175-225ft, i just change how hard i throw. for me there is very minimal turn, unless i purposely(or accidentally) start it on an anny angle. in that case it will turn ever so slightly and have a decent fade at the end of its flight.

i use this disc on mostly open field type shots, or straight tunnel shots.

Beautiful flight path. Starting off as a true greenhorn to the sport, the Leopard was a highly recommended beginner disc from friends, and throwing this every day taught me so much on understanding disc flight paths. It’s been my go to tee disc from lengths anything less than 250ft for a while now and I love it!

A good disc to use in tight places. It is very controlled if thrown straight, but I tend to use it as a second option disc.

The Leopard is the best disc to learn with, in my opinion.  I started out with the classic DX Leopard, eventually bought a ~160 Champion X-Out and then another X-Out at 152.  I overlooked the Leopard at first because I didn't fully understand the numbers on the disc.  After trying to throw discs way out of my range I went back to the Leopard.

The Leopard throws great for starters.  When thrown properly it goes straight with a little curve at the end of the throw.  The Champion Leopard that I bought was just enough to take my game to the next level.  My drives went further than ever with it.  I keep my 152 in the bag and throw it quite a bit, anytime I need that good fade on my side.
