    Disc: Swirly S-Blend Emperor X-Out - 171 & 172g

Feel: Both of the Swirly S-Blend Emperors I picked out are pretty domey (pop top) flight plates. They were X-outs for uneven fills from the injection process (blizzard rim for the 171g with small empty areas near the rim) or small indentation in the rim (172g). Generally the plastic blend feels grippy and slightly less stiff than regular Star/S-Blend plastics.

Flight: The imperfections in the plastic don't seem to affect the flight of the Emperor. The two fly a little bit different but generally close to the given flight numbers (12/5/-1/3). Great substitute for an average Overstable distance driver. Rim feels very similar to a DD3 and can be thrown forehand or backhand. Handles average wind with a slight high speed turn and solid finishing fade. Potential to get good skips when the Emperor hits at the right angle.

Impressions & Comparisons: Comparing the Swirly S-Blend to the Splatter S-Blend X-out , the Swirly definitely has increased dome through the flight plate. Dome can increase the glide and stability in my experience, making the Swirly S-Blend more stable and potentially fly further with more effort.

Comparing with the other Swirly Star blend drivers I have, the Emperors came out as the most OS compared with Swirly Discmania DD, 2020 Heimburg Tour Series Destroyer, and 1.10 Scorpius. The bubbled rim on the 171g caused it to fly with less stability, allowing me to have 2 of the same disc with similar profile/feel off the shelf but enough difference between them to fill different stability points.

Using these X-Outs for shots normally taken with my worn in Scorpius' or Heimburg Destroyers without having to worry as much about replacement. I wouldn't recommend a near max weight Emperor to a beginner, but I-Blend or lighter weight ones could be useful for lower arm speeds.

Really disappointed in this disc. My Swirly X-out arrived with divots in the rim. Flew more overstable than I was expecting as well. Causation and correlation...?

Love this disc. Can hold a hyzer line in a stiff headwind, while having the dynamic ability to be flexed for max disctance in neutral wind conditions. Similar to a Destroyer, this disc earned a spot in my bag quickly and I look forward to it aging into an ideal speed/distance driver.

These fly great but was disappointed to see a chunk of the rim missing from my X out. I was under the impression that X out meant cosmetic issues only
