Metal Flake Glow C-Blend X-Out Details

The Metal Flake Glow C-Blend plastic is a mixture of Glow C-Blend (with or without color) and metal flakes. It has been said that the Metal Flake Glow C-blend plastic promotes a more stable flight. These are the X-Out, Factory 2nd, or Misprint discs which may have cosmetic flaws inside the plastic or on the stamp, but otherwise perform great.

The disk itself probably merits 5 stars, but as a driver for someone like me at an intermediate level, it is a bit too overstable to begin with (might be that the heavier weight I have doesn't quite suit me either). I actually found this disc (no name/number), so I presume it was a bit too overstable for someone else as well and it had careened off target and gotten lost in very tall, thick grass. This is billed as slightly less overstable than a Destroyer, yet I find I get better flight and distance with the Destroyer under identical conditions (i.e., I was testing them both back and forth on a field -- into the wind, then back against the wind; repeated). Conversely though, if someone's got more power in their throws, then the Emperor might serve them better than the Destroyer. The plastic feels good in the hand and releases cleanly, and appears to have some good durability. As weather warms up, I look forward to trying this out after dark sometime to see what the glow-in-the-dark experience is like.
