Love this putter in Jawkbreaker plastic. Great grip and very favorable landing (shouldn't roll a mile if you miss!). Chains seem to swallow this disc :-).

My first beadless putter! Turned on to it by Ezra Aderhold. This baby releases so clean from the hand and the jawbreaker plastic has a great tacky feel. The slight puddle top was just as described and the added glide makes out of the circle putting more effortless. The plastic isn't as durable but really grabs the chains. It flies arrow straight. My new go to putter.

The jawbreaker plastic is amazing. Combine that with the amazingness that is the roach and you've got a winner in anyones book. This is my go to putter and always have at least one in the bag. Highly recommend.

I have the Jawbreaker Roach. It's flight reminds me of a less predictable Luna. I don't like the roach very much as a throwing putter when compared to the Luna or an MVP Atom, but as a putting putter I have had good success with spin putts and the occasional hyzer putt.

I tried a ton of putters when starting out, and the roach was the first putter that felt right. I've owned it in Big Z, Xsoft, and jawbreaker plastic.

Jawbreaker plastic is the only one that still remains in my bag. I both putt and drive with it. This disc is really easy to manipulate. You can use it for a big understable fade, or watch it hyzer flip up and  sit down nice and straight on a tunnel hole. I do agree with the other reviews of this disc having just a touch more fade whens it's fresh out of the box.

I love putting with the roach. The tackyness of the plastic combined with just enough stiffness so the disc isn't folding over in your hand is just what the doctor ordered.

Feels very similar to the Luna, maybe a tad deeper. I can definitely feel the extra glide which has allowed me to increase my putting distance when compared to the Luna.

Got this in the Jawbreaker plastic. Great putting putter. Flies dead straight with a bit of fade. Currently my most reliable one

I picked up a Roach while I was in a "find my putter" phase. It was the fourth different brand that I tried on my search for the right putter to match my style. I fell in love with this disc and started my obsession with Discraft. I used this as my main putter for months while I was picking up the game and learning my putt. I had a spush putt that leaned more on the spin side and I loved this disc because it just flew straight and I was hitting chains and as a starting player nothing is more exhilarating that hitting that first circle 2 putt. As I grew in skill I starting getting more of a push putt and started loving the Luna as both a putting and driving putter and passed the roach onto my wife as her first putter. I still keep a few roachs for putting practice and overall think it is a phenomenal disc that just about anyone could find a use for. Excellent first putter for anyone learning the game or even for a seasoned pro that wants a straight flying putter. Plenty of options in plastic type changes the stability enough that it can have a use for any style. Pick one up and give it a try.

In the first round I ever played I found a Roach sitting on the ground with no name on it. I kept the disc and began to use it that round and never looked back. I have thrown other putters since then, but nothing compares to the Roach, just for clarification I have not thrown every putter ever but I don't need to because I found the putter for me. This disc flies straight and holds any line I throw it on. The Jawbreaker plastic is AMAZING. Soft and grippy, but not too soft or too grippy.

Since my first round, I have bought another Roach, and let me tell you something. What is better than one Roach? TWO ROACHES. The other day I was trying to figure out what my favorite disc in the bag was, well low and behold, it was my trusty Roach.

Whether you are brand new to the sport or a seasoned vet, the Roach is a reliable putter that is a MUST in your bag today.

I absolutely Love the Jawbreaker Roach. The jawbreaker plastic is very grippy down in the Florida humidity and it helps really grab those chains and stay on a consistent flight path when your hands are sweaty! I do think this disc has a SLIGHT bit more fade than its advertised, but if you can get use to that it will power through your upshots, and make a great throwing putter.

I personally use this as both my throwing and Putting Putter. With two Green for throwing and a purple with gold stamp as my putter. Its been my bread and butter and its taught me a lot about stability and how to keep my hand level when putting overall Id HIGHLY recommend this as a first putter for anyone!

WOW! What a great putter! If you feel that the Luna is too overstable for you, then look no further in terms of putting putters OR driving putters! This disc is MONEY for hyzers, straight shots, or anhyzers! It will hold WHATEVER line you put it on. The best comparison I have for it (besides it being a more usable Luna) is to the Warden from Dynamic Discs. This is a putter with tremendous glide and great feel, especially if you want to get a hold of a Big Z or 2020 Ledgestone Tour Z edition for a driving putter.

The Jawbreaker roach is an excellent disc that can be used both for approaches and putting putts. The disc has a pretty low profile and feels like a shallower Aviar. It feels great for both forehand and backhand grips. It also has a nice rim that is comfortable to rest a finger on for putting.

The disc is a nice point and shoot disc with a very slight fade at the end for approaches. I find it flies very similar to my Aviars, but with a much more comfortable grip. The 4 glide makes for a nice disc off the tee on the short par 3 holes.

As for putting, I'm still trying this disc out against my Aviar. I find the rim to be just slightly smaller than the Aviar and it feels a little small when resting my index finger on the bottom outside portion of the rim. I'm willing to give it a longer time to get used to it due to my love for the Jawbreaker plastic's ability to stick to the chains.

The Roach has been an amazing putter for me as a beginner. My original putter was a Challenger, but was looking to "upgrade" to something in a more durable plastic with a more neutral stability. Ultimately, I wanted something that flew straight and had decent glide on it and the Roach checked both boxes! The rim and beadless nature feels just right in the hand. The disc is a straight flyer with the slightest bit of fade at the end (as the flight numbers would suggest). I would strongly recommend this putter to anyone just starting out or looking for a mostly straight flying putter.

As far as plastics go, Jawbreaker is definitely the best option if you plan on using the Roach as a putting putter. It's added grip and durability make it a worthwhile upgrade over the baseline D plastic. Jawbreaker has held up well over dozens of rounds so far with some minor nicks here and there. If you are considering throwing the Roach as a neutral approach disc, then something in a more premium plastic (Z, Big Z, etc.) would be better for durability.

Rounded edge is comfortable for putting. Jawbreaker flies straight and finishes straight, and Z is noticably more overstable. Looking to try BigZ soon.

New review after a year of use:

I have about 30 of them now, and it's my favorite disc in the bag. (And its been said on dgcr/reddit, "if your putter isn't your favorite disc, you need a new putter.")
It's smooth convex wing feels great. The only other putter on the market that has a convex wing and no bead is the Luna (which is just a Roach with a name that Paul McBeth can put his name on.) Warden comes the closest, but still has a flat spot. It's like holding a brand new, smooth and unscratched, but at the same time, super seasoned Aviar or Voodo.

Can't put much behind it on drives. More of a touch thrower. Get Ti or Big Z for driving duties. D, SoftX, or Jawbreaker for putting.

Love the Jawbreaker material! It is a pretty firm disc but still has a tacky feel to it. Was throwing an RFF Wizard before because it was the most grippy plastic I had found but was a little to soft to fall in love with. One of my favorite things about the Roach is that it has rounded edges instead of the flat sides that most straight putter do. It feels way more comfortable in my hand and feels natural when I grip it. Flat disc, flies straight, grips chains.

This disc flies very straight, and the jawbreaker plastic has an amazing grip that doesn't beat in so quick like the burst plastics would. I've been using a P2 for a majority of my disc career, but I got this in the mystery box and was pleasantly surprised. If you play mainly in the woods where there isn't a lot of wind, this could be a perfect putter. On winds days this thing will simply flip right over. For a beginner who has difficulty putting straight, this could be the perfect putter.

The Roach, from Discraft, is a great new beadless putter. This is a very neutral flying disc that excels in and out outside the circle for putting. The glide was great for my spin putting and didn't really require much power. When I used it off the tee, I really couldn't dial it in like I would like. It lacked stability that I am used to when driving. I did however, enjoy the Roach for touch upshots that didn't require much power. This is a great option for those getting into the sport or experienced players looking to try a new disc.

The Roach has easily become my go to putter ever since first throwing it! For me it has become a versatile disc for straight flight putter drives and a confident putting putter as well. The beadless rim feels very comfortable in my hand and the Jawbreaker plastic not only looks great but has a nice grip to it while being more durable than the Pro D blend plastic. If you're looking for a new beadless putter, look no further and try this disc.

Plastic: Jawbreaker plastic feels really great. I've got three Jawbreaker Roaches and a few Jawbreaker Banger GT's. None of them feel 'slick' at all. They all have a chalky feel to them and a medium stiffness. Pro-D/Soft-X plastic was always so brittle in my experience but Jawbreaker has proven itself to be plenty durable for P&A. Been waiting on Discraft to get something like this out for years now. They got it right.

Flight: The Roach is stable but straight as an arrow out of the hand. I don't have to put too much energy into it. Just give it good form and let it do the work. Giving it flight ratings of 3 | 3 | -.5 | 1. Just a real efficient putt & appRoach disc. Easy to control and trust.

I absolutely agree with Southpaw49 below: Discraft has terrible stamps. It's funny that they mention how un-kid friendly the roach smoking a cigar is, because I always assumed that the whole Big Z line's stamps was Discraft's strategy to market to younger players. I think It's a good idea, but the stamps are ugly. I like like the Nuke's stamp..that's about it. I throw all Discraft and most of the caricature stamps get wiped.

If the stamps help Discraft with sales to younger throwers, I don't mind busting out the acetone. Otherwise stick with the ESP and Z's circle stamp, the bar stamped X's, and the minimal stamps on Cryztal, please.

As for the slickness of Jawbreaker mentioned in one of the reviews...that is a rarity. I'd say one out of 20 is slick (which is my exact experience because I own 20 Jawbreaker discs: 3 Zones, 15 Challengers, 1 Roach, and 1 mini Challenger.) Only one Chally had this oily feel. This slickness will go away on its own, or you can wash it with detergent like some Vibram discs require. This is what I did. Jawbreaker is my favorite plastic for Challengers. As I've only had one in Roach, not sure about that, but at the speed I'm throwing the JB Roach, I'd say its more neutral than Infinite's numbers for the disc.

The Jawbreaker plastic is slick. Not in the way you'd hear your dad say a Mustang GT is "slick", but more like running onto an ice skating rink with your shoes on is slick. The Jawbreaker Roach flies like a D or X Roach, but I simply can't get the release as accurate as I can with the lower priced plastics. I consistently release right of my target line with this plastic blend. I've used it for a little while and still don't see any considerable wearing down of its slickness, therefore I can only give it 3 stars. Roaches are my favorite putters in X and are great as driving putters in Ti and Z, but I'm not sure the Jawbreaker fits any special needs or excels at any one thing.
