I purchased a Ti Roach because I was looking for a premium plastic throwing putter. I initially wanted a Big Z or Cryztal Luna (because I’m a McBeast fanboy), but I wasn’t going to pay $30 for a putter. So in looking for a replacement I came across a few youtubers who noted that the Roach in a premium plastic shares some of the same qualities: feel in the hand, flight path, and resistance to torque when thrown at high speeds. Though I haven’t thrown a premium plastic Luna, I don’t think the Ti Roach is a viable replacement. I have low-to-medium armspeed, and I felt like it turned over more than people suggested that it would. It does feel similar to my base plastic Luna, but the Roach is a bit deeper.

That all being said, I still think the roach is a pretty solid disc. The Titanium plastic is very durable and surprisingly grippy. The Roach is probably better for people with bigger hands because of its depth, but I don’t think it will feel uncomfortable for anyone. I probably averaged around 225 throwing it when doing fieldwork, and I could get it closer or past 250 if I threw it slightly nose-up on a turnover line. It can be a decent putter for hyzerflips if you get the angle and power right.

As for putting, the plastic is grippy enough in the hand to be usable, but Discraft has more grippy plastics available. The increased durability doesn’t give you any benefit when putting, and if anything, it makes it less likely that the Roach will stick to the chains. It didn’t make my bag as I was looking for a bit more overstability, but it is a solid disc.

The Roach is a solid putter. I used roaches years ago as my main putter, but I switched to Atoms which I feel are a bit more stable and less effected by the wind. Texas has some serious wind at times. One reason It was a comfortable switch is that they do feel very similar. Rounded nose, no bead, not too deep. However I do think the roach is still a great putter, especially if you find yourself leaving putts short a lot or want a putter that is a bit more "glidey". I recommend the Jawbreaker or XSoft if you are using it as a putting putter, but Pro D is still a solid choice just takes a hit in the durability department.
I still keep a roach in the bag in titanium plastic. I have not found a putter that flies such a straight line off the tee. 250-200 feet straight throw, this disc is money.  It flies dead straight with lots of glide. It has no skip, it might slide a bit in premium plastics, but never gets any out of control ground action. The only downside is that it's very power sensitive, especially in Jawbreaker or Pro D. This is much less of a problem with the Titanium. I have not tried it in Big Z but I would imagine it would be similar to Ti. The roach is a well rounded choice and is worth a look if you're in the market for a new putter

Overall the Roach is one of the best putters in the Discraft lineup. It is a versatile putter that can hold any line, making it useful for both beginners and pros. Smooth feel and a great consistent flight, the Roach is a knockout in low wind situations!?

The titanium Roach is a little rounder than the traditional Roach but throwing it flat it'll stay straight until it runs out of gas downright one of my favorite putters

A great driving Roach with the additional fade and dome not found on my other Roaches. Too stiff and slick for my putting preference.
