Understable but it won't dump into the ground unless its particularly windy. my avenger ss is very flat but is surprisingly glidey. I think this disc is a great beginner foray into drivers.

I bag this as an understable/turnover driver to compliment my Thunderbird.  Honestly, its not a disc Im using in every round I play, because most shots of that shape, I can achieve with a forehand, but when I do need a turnover shot to give me some real distance, this is a great disc to have around.

Comfortable in the hand, and I love the grip and durability of the Titanium plastic!

As I mentioned in my review of the Avenger (see the disc immediately to the left of this one), this is a disc that I recommend to anyone who is just getting started in disc golf. It's very easy to throw, it allows the newer players to shape their shots and develop their form early on so they don't find themselves struggling to correct bad habits like so many of us have done by starting out with high speed overstable drivers. This disc is predictably understable and will give new players an easy adjustment to S line curves. As their game develops, and as any advanced player will tell you, this disc will fall out of the bag in favor of basically any other driver, but it's a great way to learn the game and gain confidence in throwing.

I have a tendency to constantly buy drivers and hope they magically fix my frolf game. While it hasn't happened with one single disc yet, I have to say the Avenger SS is a fantastic disc that I am very comfortable throwing.

It does have some turn, so if you are a max power thrower I'd recommend getting some runs in at the range, particularly for RHBH. It can turnover, but often I find that I use this disc for 90% power technical drives. Sometimes I can flex it beautifully, sometimes it just flies really straight. It will turn immediately off the hand, but if thrown correctly it'll just keep soarin' straight after flexing out and gently fade off.

Also to note- the titanium plastic has incredible disc feel. Great disc

The Avenger SS is one of the first discs I recommend to new players who need a stable, dependable driver. When I began, I used an Avenger SS in Pro-D plastic for a lot of months and it really helped me get a feel for how to throw. Once I got this disc to fly straight, then I knew that my technique was improving, because the disc itseslf didn't have a tendency to pull one way or another. Once my arm became stronger, then the Pro-D plastic started pulling to the understable side. I bought a titanium plastic version and was able to continue playing with the Avenger SS as a straight shooter. After almost four years of play, I throw quite a bit harder than I originally did, so I only use the disc for shorter throws in the 200 foot range, or if I want an understable longer thow, it comes in handy.

All in all, I'd say that this is a top recommendation for new players. You'll be temped to get something with all kinds of long-distance ratings and crazy flight paths, but until you can control a stable disc, you really won't know if it is the disc or your throwing technique that is causing the end results.

This disc is very beginner friendly in my opinion. In calm conditions this disc will hold whatever line you throw it on, which is exactly what a beginner needs to get better. However, if conditions get a little windy, this disc will hyzer flip fairly quickly.

I use this disc for long turnover shots. I primarily forehand holes that turn to the right. However, if wind conditions are a factor, I might throw this disc on a long turnover shot. I've only gotten this disc to roll once, but the backhand roller is a shot I'm still working on. I doubt this stays in my bag too long, because I'm beginning to favor a star Tern a bit more.

I have the Avenger SS (esp) and Sidewinder(star) in my bag and I can not decide with to keep. They both fly so true for me.

great for rollers and turn overs. easy to throw for beginners and may be more accommodating for slower arm speeds.

I currently own a Ti plastic Avenger ss and it is quickly becoming my fairway driver of choice. I used to own an esp Avenger ss and this was before I knew about the hyzer flip. Be wary of this disc if you are having trouble keeping discs from turning right on you it is VERY flippy! My titnium version is a tad bit more overstable, which is why I got it. I can release it flat at 50% power and watch a beautiful approach shot from 300ft valet park itself next to the chains. At max power this disc requires a fine touch and a degree of hyzer, so find your comfort angle. I would describe its flight as similar to that of a roadrunner or a mini mamba. Lots and lots of turn and minimal fade, so no headwinds here. Over a fantastic beginners choice, and (in my opinion) a great short/fairway driver in Ti plastic. Hope this helps!
