This disc is great for beginners. It starts out as one of the easiest drivers to throw. This is one of the first discs I bought. I bought it because it said, "maximum distance driver." I, of course, wanted maximum distance!

After playing for awhile, I realized I was lucky. This disc starts by giving you a reliable straight flight when you start throwing. As arm power/speed increase you start to get turn out of the disc.

Now that have been playing awhile I turn the disc over with even a touch of anhyzer. However, this disc is still very useful. The Avenger SS is my best tomahawk disc. I also have been told this is a great roller disc(I am not very good at throwing backhand rollers). I also use this disc as a longer fairway driver and throw it on hyzer and flip it up.

I think this disc is great as it can be used at all different skill levels. You can get this disc at a great price too.

I've owned two Avenger SS in ESP plastic.

The first one (I'd rate it around 10 5 -4 1) was noticeably flippier than the second one (more like a 10 5 -2 1).

I put the first one aside. However, the second one has become my go-to disc for controlled hyzerflip distance. I like to throw it on low-ceiling wooded tunnels out to ~350', where a moderate hyzer angle will see it flip up to flat, get just a touch of turn, and continue penetrating forward on a very straight trajectory. I find myself reaching for it more and more when I'm in heavily wooded courses and want to get aggressive forward penetration.

If you like throwing on hyzer and want a controlled hyzerflip monster, you might check this one out. I'm not sure how the run-to-run variation shakes out, but I'm really happy I found one in the sweet spot!

Not a ton to say about this disc really you can get consistent 300ft hyzer flip straight shots or if your just moving up to drivers from controls this is definitely the disc to start with. in a beginners hands you will get a nice glide big s bend throw and if your not throwing in the 300s yet this disc will most likely get you there.

I liked this disc when I was newer to the game because it gave a nice s flight but now that I've improved my form it's more of a roller disc for me

I bought the Z AvengerSS (2021) and didn't really like it because it was so much different than my old SS. The mold became somewhat more overstable which is fine, but it is just a tad bit faster than the Heat. I lost my AvengerSS (the new one) and decided to buy a ESP AvengerSS (2022) because it was less stable I heard for the plastic blends. With this being said the ESP AvengerSS has a flatter top and has slightly less glide. Both discs tend to start to show its instability around 230 feet throws. Other than that its a straight flight for both discs. I did not like the Z AvengerSS because I tended to throw it higher than I am use to, but that is preference then don't bother its find if you want more stability. This disc can be thrown on many angles and even a roller. Its super versatile. Lastly. This disc can be forehanded well which is a great find for a control driver.

This disc is great. I've have been using this disc since I was brand new to the game, sometime in the early 2010s.

When I was brand new this was one of 3 discs I had. I did not have the arm for this disc, but I could see how someone else with better natural form could get a respectable flight. Somehow I managed to never lose this disc and now I currently bag it as well as a new one.

The old one is incredibly beat in with a very unique flight path. It's the flippiest driver in my bag making it great for rollers and hyzer flips. This one often finishes straight or with a late turn.

The new one is similar but much less turn. I'd say it's a true -3. This one has a more reliable fade. I can power up on this one to get a faster roller without too much cut that I might get from the old disc.

All in all, this disc is useful. I probably wouldn't recommend it for first timers, but once someone has worked up some fundamentals this disc could be really good.

Really enjoy this disc. In my opinion, it is a faster and more reliable version of Lat 64's Diamond. Consistent turn with a soft fade at the end. Not necessarily a beginner disc, but when looking to expand your bag with a higher arm speed and good form this disc is a must have.

Smooth Flyer, Great Feel, Solid Driver for Beginning Players

The Avengers SS is a very solid driver to bag. It flies pretty straight and achieves solid distance for someone with average-at-best arm speed like myself. I can always count on a little turn before a soft fade. This is also a disc I like throwing up or down hills as it seems to handle both well.

I was able to hit my second career ace with this disc on a slightly downhill shot where the disc hyzer flipped just a bit and drifted into the hole.

One of the only things keeping me from throwing it more is I find it to be fairly inconsistent in windy conditions. I know this is a feature of understable discs in general, I just think it is worth noting that it gets much more work when I am playing on relatively still days.

The Avenger SS is a great first distance driver for a player who has progressed well with their putters, mids, and fairways. The rim is comfortable, the profile is shallow, and the plastic is great. New players will love the Avenger SS.

Experienced players, however, have a different use for this disc. Due to its understability it works really well for hyzer flips, turnovers, and even rollers when given the right juice and angle. Everyone can find a place in the bag for a disc like this.

The Avenger SS is a great disc that is perfect for beginners looking to add distance to their game. The understability allows a not-so-strong thrower to allow this disc to perform like a stable disc. It will fly flat, with maybe a little turn, and then fade back at the end.

For more advanced players this is a perfect for a hyzer-flip, long turnover, and/or rollers.

My only gripe is that I feel this mold is very inconsistent from the factory. Some of them have come super flippy while others appear to be more stable.

The Avenger SS is a great disc for beginners and experienced players alike.  An understable driver that allows the user to gain a respectable amount of distance that will be a great tool in the bag.  More experienced players can flip this disc up to flat by putting hyzer on the release while less experienced players can throw this disc flat and expect a fairly straight outcome.

I have found the Avenger SS to be a really fun and controllable disc to throw. I originally purchased the Avenger SS thinking it could be my roller disc, however after throwing the disc I have found it to be so useful. I have been able to get sweeping anhyzer shots, hyzer flips, and late right turning shots (for my right hand back hand throw). Another perk I find with the Avenger SS is being able to throw the disc at about 70-80% power and still getting excellent distance.

I have said it before but will say it again, I love Discraft's ESP plastic! It provides that perfect combination of durability and grip.

If you are a player with less arm speed and are looking at stepping up into the driver game, the Avenger SS might be your ticket. And as you build up your skills and form you will find many other shot shapes and uses for the disc!

Great driver for a beginner looking to add distance to their drives

The first time I used this driver was when I had it in the starter set plastic. I didn't like the grip as much on that, but I could tell this disc had some pretty easy distance. The understability helps you keep the line longer before it starts to fade, and it seems like it carries further with the same amount of effort than discs I would consider to be similar (Innova Archangel, Streamline Lift). Also, I feel like this disc has been more dependable in headwind than my other understable drivers.

I will say, I throw most of my drives RHBH, and that is where this disc feels the most comfortable for me. My hands are probably a little smaller than average, and the rim size of the Avenger SS is perfect for my grip. However, this disc feels a little awkward RHFH for me, and I have other discs I will pick for that.

I love this disc. I am not a very good forehand thrower so when I get to a hole that most people would throw a forehand I can use this as a roller. Also for long open holes with a right to left wind, throwing this with some hyzer will make it pop up and go for a long drive. Definitely recommend for people who don't have a good forehand but not for beginners. One wrong move and the understabilty will take it to the right when throwing backhand,

As a new player to disc golf the Avenger SS (169 grams) has became my go to driver. While every other driver I threw seemed to almost immediately turn left and crash into the ground this disc actually got some decent distance. While I know accuracy and control are just as (if not more) important than distance, it's still fun to throw at least a little bit far when starting out. 150' / 200' / 250' first time personal best were all done with this disc my first 3 months playing. Control is great even as a beginner still getting it flying on target 4 out of 5 times. Flies straight for me with a small amount of fade when touching done.

Good beinnger driver.  This was one of the first discs I actually started getting some good distance with.  Working on rollers as I've heard this is a good roller disc as well.  Best thing about this disc is the hand feel.  A smaller rim helps it feel more comfortable in my hands.  If you're a new player looking for a driver you can throw well, look no further.

I love this disc! I have started really working on my distance game recently and aside from working on my form, I have been experimenting with more under-stable drivers. This has made such a huge difference in my game! I can throw this disc so far and I am finally able to put a distance driver on the lines that I want to without having to overexert myself and be inconsistent. This disc has a ton of glide and carries forever while faithfully finishing at the end of the flight. This disc immediately earned a spot in my bag within the first few holes I played with it.

I've been working on my RHBH throws to get max distance in my game.  I bought this disc a few weeks ago and am starting to get the flex shot I've been seeking.  When thrown on a hyzer it will flip up to flat and slowly turn towards the right with minimal fade (just as the numbers suggest).  If thrown flat it will likely turn hard into a roller or glide to the right for about 100 ft and then turn into a roller.

My disc golf journey was starting with understable moving to stable then finally to overstable. I did this with mids and fairways and just started on distance drivers. No wind and flat this goes straight and about 50ft farther than my fairway drivers. This has been a great disc for me when trying to go 300+ and accurate. Not to wide of a rim and great first disc for a beginner to try and get to the next level (when ready).

This disc is super effective! I love having it as a roller. I'd consider bagging one, and saving it for those "circumstantial throws"

The values are totally accurate and predictable. It'll hyzer flip for beginners, and turn forever for the experienced player. Versatile and love playing with it.

This disc is very understable. Newer players can probably air out this disc and gets extra distance compared to a more stable disc, but for me this disc is a rolller disc and nothing else. This is the disc I learned how to throw a bh roller and still use it for that to this day. Its so understable i need to lay it down on a cut when it hits the ground to get any sort of distance otherwise it flips all the way and burns out to the right. Probably a great disc for beginners, though it wont teach real good form as it's so understable it doesnt take much snap to get it moving, in fact a decent amount of snap is all thats needed to flip this disc

I had one of these but I just lost it! I was just getting the hang of it. If super understable discs are good for brand new players learning to drive, this is good for taking the next step. I'll probably wind up picking up another one of these at some point.

I picked up a 167-169g ESP Avenger SS as a club disc to support my local club. In general, I like understable discs in the 9-11 speed rating. This disc is definitely understable and gives easy distance. When I try to throw flat at full power, it's too flippy for me, and turns into an accidental roller.

For moderate controlled drives and uphill shots the Avenger SS is a winner. I can also get some serious distance with this disc when I release it at a hyzer angle and let it flip up and glide forever. The unique thing about the Avenger SS compared with other comparable discs is where the high speed turn kicks in. My disc starts straight and then starts turning to the right later in the flight before fading back to the left at the end. My River and Leopard turn much sooner than does the Avenger SS. I love the ESP plastic. Great grip, and plenty durable. This is an excellent understable driver for beginners and intermediate disc golfers.

What can I tell about this disc. I am an intermediate RHBH and Avenger SS (164 to 168 gm)in ESP or elit Z plastic works great for me. I use this disc for anhyzer shots under 300 ft, short turnover fairway, and long (about 400 ft) turnover shots. When it is new I use it for hyzer shots for short to long tees. One of the best disc in the market.

The Avenger SS is one of my Go-To discs in my bag. I have one in DX plastic that tends to hook more to the right at high speed but my ESP plastic one is my choice when I want to go right down the fairway. As a beginner to intermediate self rated player, it's a definite check it out recommend from me.
