I was a Beast skeptic. I have thrown Valkyrie in Star and Pro for a few years as my main distance drivers and wasn't sure a Beast would get me more. It does. Also I love its flight. In my experience a fresh Beast in similar plastic and weight gets more lateral movement than a Valkyrie, but its glide is superior, but it's still reliable even with a slight headwind. So you get more "S-turn" which is enjoyable, more glide, and consequently more distance. Provided the shot allows all that, it's a winner.

My hands aren't huge, and the rim is super comfortable.

I have this disc in Champ, Halo Star, Star, and Pro. It's a relatively new disc to the bag and I'm figuring out which one will slot in long term. The Star and Pro flew exactly according to flight numbers straight out of the box so depending on your tastes/wear/plans take that for what it's worth.

The Champ and Star Halo discs I have are more overstable to start with. Champ is the beefiest of the discs I have.

All the plastics seem to mold up with a consistent dome that isn't too big.

This disc is AMAZING! I highly recommend for people reaching 400. Its very neutral, has so much glide, and can hold any line. This is the only disc I can consistantly get to 400 ft

As a newer player with noodle for an arm, the Beast has been to first driver that allows me to shape shots and drop the disc in the general area of my target. It flies straight with a gentle but predictable fade at the end, and is forgiving of my arm speed.

This is one of my new favorite discs. I got it a few days ago, and it is absolutely amazing! I've only ever used either understabe or overstable distance drivers before, so this was kind of new to me, but it feels so much better to throw this than any of the other distance drivers I've had. I haven't had it for too long, so I may not be the best person to speak on its usefulness, but I already know more than a few holes on my local courses that this will be VERY useful on lol. Great disc!

The Beast was my first distance driver I bought when I started playing. And I still carry one to this day many years later. It's a great stable driver that I would say is a good transition disc into faster speeds. But still has its place when you break them in right.

Great disc. This was my first real distance driver I could throw consistently on different angles, and I typically throw faster drivers these days but still go back to this beast when I need a consistent forehand or backhand

My Star Beast at 168g is my go to disc. It holds any line I throw it on. My go to for flex shots, straight tunnel shots, and holds a good anhyzer.

At first brand new it is a little more overstable, over time and more beat it became more stable. It was my first distance driver I truly started learning and growing with, so it has a special place in my heart.

It's somewhat beginner friendly, I have a friend that loves throwing it but it's definitely more overstable for him till he can bring his arm speed up.

I bag 2 star beast at 168g. One that is beat in and the other almost new. The beat in one I use for most of my flex shots, holds a nice little anny and comes back for a nice landing, as well as throwing it flat and getting a nice straight flight for any tunnel or gap shot. My new one I use more for late hyzer shots with it being a little more overstable.

Star plastic in my opinion is the best plastic, feels 10x more comfortable in your hands than champion or other molds, as well as better grip to able to really rip it.

Flight: Beat in I feel it fly's more true to its numbers(10/5/-2/2). Out of the box it fly's a little more like 10/5/-1/2.

Overall the Beast is a great disc and very fun to throw. If you are struggling with higher speeds, i definitely recommend getting a beast for good practice on building up your arm. Good for both BH and FH.

The first faster disc that I tried was a 150g DX Beast. I only took it out for field sessions until I could consistently outdrive the Shark with a Leopard. At that point the Beast was easy distance, I'd get a nice turn but a balanced fade resulting in a straight finish around 300 ft. Similarly to my starter set DX Leopard, though, it started getting too beat up just as I was getting decent at throwing. It wasn't quite roller flippy but it wouldn't come back from the turn anymore even when thrown on hyzer.

I replaced it with a 173g in Star plastic which was definitely overstable for me for a couple of months but still got out a touch further than my fairway drivers especially when given a touch of anhyzer. Now it has a really consistent 320ft flight with a slight turn and fade back to center for me.

It was the only thing close to a distance driver in my bag for a while and I would definitely recommend it as a first fast disc for beginners, although you may want to experiment with different weights/plastics. A friend with lower arm speed than me has one in Blizzard plastic that is definitely his current max D disc.

It doesn't come out of my bag quite as often now that I can sorta throw faster stuff. There's a slight overlap with the Wraith which has a bit more distance potential for me, but there is still a place for it and I occasionally rip it further or as far as most of my other discs, probably because it's where my arm is actually at despite the temptation to throw faster discs.

For me, the Beast is much better for BH than FH.

I have the star plastic version and it's definitely not good as a beginner driver (current max. dist. for me is around 350ft). I actually use this for reliable spike hyzers because the disc is so overstable for me. It won't turn even if I put it on anhyzer. It also has a pretty hard fade. So, a good disc for a beginner if need something that will go a little farther than a midrange and fade harder around some trees.

Personally, not a bad disc at all. Definitely more overstable than the flight numbers show. However, that was just what I needed. I'm sure with above average arm speed, you can get this to flip but my arm speed just isn't there. Overall though, not a bad choice!

I currently have a Star Beast in my bag and have had it there for off and on at first, but once broken in was a staple in my bag. At first purchase the disc was slightly beefy and didn't have much turn, which differs disc to disc obviously. Now that the disc is more beat in I can throw it from 340 - 380 feet in a straight line, if i put it on a slight hyzer out of the hand. I can also use it for a nice gentle anhyzer line as well. This disc would be a good option for a beginer getting into drivers or a veteran who needs to hit lines and shape shots.

I currently bag a well seasoned Star Beast. It throw it forehand and backhand. New these tend to be a little more stable and great for forehand flex shots. Mine is starting to become a little under stable which is wonderful because a worn beast is my favorite RHBH hyzer flip disc. I have bagged up to three of these discs at various times.

This was my favorite driver for a long time. Creates a great S-Line. Was in my bag for years. I still carry one in my secondary bag.

For beginners with strong arms this is a great option.

My issue was this would wear in way too fast(I hit trees. A lot!) and I could never keep a reliable flight path once they were worn in.

Still a great disc and some of my friends who are way better than me still carry one or two of these around.

This is a disc that's very similar to the Westside Northman. I bag both, they're pretty flippy distance drivers. I bought a used Beast, and it's a good, solid disc. I don't throw forehands with it, mostly I'm trying to bomb some backhand drives with this disc

The Beast is one of those "meat and potatoes" kind of staple discs that everyone should have.  I can't say enough nice things about it.  It's 100% a classic, filling the stable control driver slot better than pretty much anything else out there.  I use it off the tee or long second shots and it just goes the distance, but always in control.  I'd even say it's perfect for a newish player's first "grown up" driver.  I'm probably biased because it was one of my first discs, but this mold has stayed in my bag for a reason.  It's a really solid disc!

Definitely not my favorite disc, and I usually don't bag one. But If im feeling optimistic I will throw one in for the day. The flight ratings are dead on. This is probably the best distance driver besides the valk for beginners. On a nice hyzer line this thing will pop up and fly for days. even now, as my arm speed is getting to the 400 range, I still don't turn and burn this thing. Like I said, not my favorite disc, but I would recommend it to anyone starting out or anyone looking to practice flipping discs.

Acquired a 175g Factory Second Star Beast at a huge discount price.  The defect was in coloring:  my new disc has a pink outer rim and white flight plate, and that was not on purpose.  However, as always, the Star plastic feels great in my hand and the disc performed as expected for its numbers.

In practice rounds I threw it every time I threw my Star Archon (11,5,-2,2) and/or Star Valkyrie (9,4,-2,2) for direct comparison purposes.  The Beast (10,5,-2,2) flew along comparable lines to the Archon, and at least as far as my Valkyrie when thrown for distance in open terrain.

Where my problem lies is that the Valkyrie is my favorite disc, and I use it for control shots in the woods as well as a long fairway driver, and it's not coming out of my bag.  Also, the Archon goes further than the Beast, significantly further for me than the Beast, and the Archon is my "go to" driver for holes where I can't rip a Boss.  So my Beast is caught in between.

Ergo, if you do not own a Valkyrie or Archon yet, the Beast might fill that spot in your bag, but for me there is not enough separation between these discs to make me replace the others with the Beast.

This was one of the first drivers I tried and it is just now breaking in to its proper flight path.  It works really well for most drives.  I like to use it for my thumbers too since it has a real nice flip.

This is my first backhand disc. It's easy to throw and easy to get the hang of for a beginner. I throw it when I'm playing terrible and just can't seem to get my game together. It's a go to disc in a bad situation

I agree with Joe if you are not throwing to your potential then this thing is going to fade harder to the left. Give this Beast a good rip and you will see the magic it can create in the air. My older brother has one doesn't like it cause he throws a little slower then myself, just waiting for him to pass it down the line.

The Beast is one of those standard, classic, discs that's just solid. If you want a long range driver that will both turn and fade a little, this will get the job done. It's not the fastest disc, but it's about the perfect speed and stability for intermediate players. It's not understable, but it's not overly overstable either. It doesn't have potential to go as far as faster discs, but you don't have to throw it as perfectly to consistently get good distance.

This is a great backhand disc, and it's stable enough that I can use it for forehand throws when released on a slight hyzer. I usually go with the the more obscure newer discs, but for a trip to Oregon took a Pro Beast with me as one of only a handful of discs in my small traveling bag. During my rounds there, I had some great drives with it and loved its consistency. I ended up taking it with me to a tournament the next week. My longest recorded drive ever (395 feet) was actually with a DX Beast thrown into a wide open field. That throw had some serious glide penetrating turn, and then a nice fade back for Max Distance. There are many similar type discs, but the Beast is as good as any. If you're and intermediate player who likes Innova you might as well own a Beast.

I found this disc at the edge of a lake while tagging along with a group playing disc golf in Charlottesville, VA. One of the players noticed that it was an unmarked 168g Star Beast in fairly new condiion. He mentioned he always wanted one in his bag. He offered to trade any disc in his bag for this Beast. I was a total newbie to disc golf. I had been playing only 6 months and the only discs I was playing with was an Innova DX 150g starter set. Based on his excited reaction I decided to keep it as I knew nothing about discs, plastics, and weights at that time. I went out with my girlfriend to play disc golf the next day and I tried out my newfound Beast. Boy was I impressed with how easy it was for me to throw this disc. The grip of the Star plastic, the wider rim, and the added weight helped me throw farther and improve my form. I was able to throw S curves and learned how to throw sidearm with it as well. This instantly became my go to disc as I quickly improved my game. This is a beginner friendly disc that will help improve your throwing technique and build up your confidence when throwing for big D. It's not too good to throw in the wind but you will love this disc nonetheless.

I have thrown this disc in a DX and Star. The DX becomes more understable as it beats in. As a beginner, I had more trouble controlling the Star, but I've started to get the hang of it. The disc throws far and is pretty consistent. It's my favorite driver to throw.
