The Wraith is the "everyman's" Destroyer. I'm not a big distance guy. I'm in my late 40s, but can still put my Champ Wraith out there 350'. If I throw a Wraith in the 160-169g range then maybe I can squeak out another 30' or so, but that is not why I choose it over the others. It's so dang dependable. I've thrown dozens of other molds further, but very few have that perfect overstability and still get out there to a respectable distance. BTW... the rim width/depth are the perfect dimensions for a great forehand driver too.
The Champion plastic has a little more bite on the end than Star plastic. Not much, but enough to get you a little further into circle one and that makes all the difference!

Summary: If you need a distance driver, the Wraith is where you should look first.

Feel: Champion plastic is what it is, the definition of durability and firm feel. At least for mine, it has more dome than all my other Wraiths.

Flight: The extra height makes the disc just a tad more understabe, but the firmness of the plastic lets any flutter out of the hand take over and make it more overstable. If you have a smoother form and release, then the Champion plastic should fly as similar as a softer plastic like Star.

The first disc I ever purchased was a wraith back in my teenage years and still use it regularly (not the same wraith but you get it). I tee off solely forehand as my shoulders are terrible and pop out all the time but that doesn't stop a wraith from it's smooth turns and fades. I use it for probably 7-9 holes on my go-to course (Cap Springs in Madison, WI). My neutral recommendation is due to the amount it fades at the end and making it work for whatever you need it to especially if you're new to the game. Once you get the hang of it though it'll surely be a go-to in your bag. For what it's worth, I typically throw a 171g

I am as beginner as a it gets. I live near a course, & play about 4 days a week. So far, the Wraith has been the one disc that shredded strokes off my rounds more than any other.

I joke I have an amateur backhand & a intermediate forehand. This disc thrown forehand RIPS off my fingers. It has a nice steady flight then will bomb down when I throw it right. I throw it farther than anything else! Love my Wraiths.

I love the Wraith it's really sad that it lives in the shadow of the Destroyer because in all honesty I think the Wraith is way better whenever I would throw my star Destroyer it would stay flat for maybe a few seconds before it crashes into the ground but the Wraith has a beautiful s-curve that just goes forever

When I need something to fly as far as I can throw this is the disc I pull out of my bag. I'm able to throw this disc about 400 if I get the right amount of turn and there's no wind. I absolutely love the feel of champ plastic and have noticed over time how versatile it is with forehands as well. I'm able to put some hyzer on the forehand and fly it about 320 or so with a slight finish.

I recently picked up one of the Infinite Discs Wraith stamped Champion Wraiths and I feel like I've thrown it enough to give it a fair review. RHBH I average 330-360' with drivers and right now the Champion plastic is a little too overstable for me to get a full flight on a flat release. Throwing it forehand is really where this disc works for me. On a full power shot I can turn this just enough for it to ride straight and I can get RHFH shots out to ~320-340'. On a slight anhyzer release this disc carries and on a slight downhill shot I got it out to 400-425' once. Good forehand disc for average arms in Champ or Star plastic. Blizzard Champion Wraiths at 150g and below also work great for average arms as an easy to throw long distance driver. I have to hyzerflip (RHBH) my 135g Blizzard Wraith but with low wind or a tailwind it flips up to turn slightly right and then fades forward and left.

The Wraith is one of the drivers I can throw the furthest. I used to throw Destroyers but after a shoulder injury that didn't heal right I can't seem to get enough power for a Destroyer. The Wraith is the driver I own the most disc of. Last year I bought 3 of the Martin Hendel color glow champion release to support my local pro.

As the description says, this disc can be used for forehands and backhands. However, for beginners, I would recommend throwing this disc forehand, as it takes a bit more arm speed to achieve the desired flight path when thrown backhand. I prefer to throw my champion wraith forehand for a nice finesse forehand shot that I need to fade softly but reliably. I don't have very good speed on my backhand, so it flies somewhat straight out of the hand before fading somewhat hard. Overall, it feels great in the hand for both styles of throw.

A while back, I got a max weight swirly lavender star Wraith for Christmas. I originally picked the disc out because it was pretty. This was before I knew how lacking my form was, and that flight numbers are pretty important. All I knew was that this disc liked to go to the left. Naturally, I only threw this disc for shots that I wanted to hook (until I lost it in the water).

Fast forward to today, form more developed, the importance of flight numbers learned, and super aware of what discs I should be throwing: I currently bag three star Wraiths, and oh how I absolutely love them. They are the perfect driver for my developing technique, and developing arm speed. Two are stock Ken Climo stamped; one brand new at max weight, and the other I found this past summer with 172 penned on the back in Sharpie. The third is a max weight bottom stamp that I affectionately refer to as Wraithald McDonald because it is the same color yellow as the McDonald's logo.

Purple 172: Most beat in of the three, and can be quite flippy. I use it for hyzer flips, and tailwind shots where I know it won't turn and burn. This disc doesn't make it out of my bag unless the wind is favorable simply because the bottom stamp flies so well for me.

Orange 175: After looking everywhere online for more max weight bottom stamps, I decide to end my search. While browsing through discs at my local disc golf hot spot ( shout out to the Den party store in Kalamazoo), I found an embossed star wraith with about the same feel as my bottom stamp. Hopefully, once the, weather gets nicer, I can do some more field testing with this disc.

Bottom Stamp 175: Glide for DAYS, an absolute BOMBER! This disc is my ABSOLUTE go to. I cannot explain the level of love at first throw that I experienced. This disc does it all for me, and can handle the power that I have to give it. Thrown with my average power (enough to pump a disc between 280 and 350), I can get this disc to stand up, turn over slightly if at all, ride straight, and fade reasonably at the end. If I really try to get behind this disc, it can still handle it. When I throw with everything I have, it will turn, but (given the room to do so) it will ALWAYS come back.

I've heard the Wraith described as a more approachable Destroyer. I don't know if I agree though. I think that the Wraith should be looked at even if you have the power to throw a Destroyer, simply because it has the ability to work in ways the Destroyer can't.

One of the best max distance drivers to learn technique and get a true assessment of your skills, because there is no cheating in this disc. Stable the entire way through, with enough flight action to allow for all throw types and situations. If you over power the disc with poor form, you will know, but if you pure your shot - you will have the longest drive of your life.

Durable, predictable, and of the the best 2nd life discs in existence. As they beat in, they become the understanle driver you never knew you needed.

Found a nameless champion wraith in a river a few years back. It was a factory second and had average wear to it, so take that into consideration. I found it to be more throwable than my destroyers. When thrown hard flat, this disc just goes straight forever. I love it. Fresh out of the box it's probably got more fade to it, but the fade with this disc has always been very controllable for me. If you're a beginner just learning to throw stable drivers, you probably find that they want to fade out pretty early in their flight. You might have to put a lot of angle and force it over to get it where you want it to go. If that's the case, it's probably a bit too much disc for you. Begrudgingly, destroyers tend to be this way for me a lot of the time unless I get just the right snap and timing on my throw. But the wraith will carry dead straight for almost all of its flight. When you find a driver that flies like that for you, stick with it. Don't fool yourself into the "well all the pros throw destroyers so maybe I should" line of thinking. If a Gstar mamba goes straight for you, then throw a Gstar mamba with pride! No one else is going to care about what plastic you throw. What matters is that you can get your disc from point A to B accurately and have fun doing it. The wraith does this for me and I'm sticking with it. My next disc will be a star wraith so I can compare it's flight characteristics to the champ plastic. Overall, a great driver that has hit a sweet spot for me and keeps me in the game

I have a Champion Wraith that is well worn, and it's a great every hole type of distance driver that I pull out over and over again in a round.  A Wraith will start out being pretty overstable, but with wear it will add a little bit of turn and lose a bit of fade.  Mine is beat in to the point now where its flight numbers resemble something more like 11 / 5 / -2 / 2.  This makes it very versatile, being able to hold a hyzer or an anhyzer, or able to S curve on a flat release.

The Champion plastic on my Wraith is an older Champion, being a little more opaque and gummy.  The ones for sale on Infinite Discs are probably all the newer, much stiffer stuff, which should still be a fine disc.  If I had to buy a new one, I might look into getting a Star Wraith, as it seems like it might be more similar to the one I throw and love.

This was the first disc I had ever purchased when I began playing. And it met every time expectation that I had. I had a buddy recommend it to me and it's been in my bag ever since. It's an over stable distance driver that will always be one of my favorites. It feels incredible in the hand and it is a very predictable disc to throw. I recommend it for beginners due to being able to control the disc and being able to predict your line before it leaves your hand. So if you are just starting disc golf I highly recommend giving this disc a spot in your bag

I went to the local soccer field today to find out why I should be throwing Beasts, Terns and Valkyries forehand, instead of my trusty 175 Pro and Star Wraiths. All started well with the Wraiths flying straighter and further than the understable group which I threw at 70% of the Wraiths. Maby loosing 25' to save some arm might be a good trade-off on some days should bag these understable discs? On the set of second throws a headwind kicked up and the understable discs all became rollers no mater what angle or direction I threw them into the wind, they rolled all over the field. Next I threw the Wraiths with my usual anhyzer flex shot, and watched in dismay as the first Wraith started to go vertical. The next instant it flipped up flat and flew a beautiful flex shot into the wind. I was amazed how it fought back popped up and flew. I was able to repeat that throw with my 175 Star Wraith with the same results. The Wraith is a wonderful disc to fly and does what you ask it to do. You can flex it through tunnels at half speed, or throw it flat and straight in wider gaps, flick it downhill or uphill with great results once you master the best angles and release points which are easy to find with some diligent practice sessions. The Wraith is one of Innova's most classic distance drivers, and for good reason. Depending on the plastic and weight, the Wraith can cover the driving needs of many players. Pro Wraiths will be neutral bombers, and Star & Champion plastics will give you a more overstable flight. The Wraith is practically the little brother to the Destroyer... slightly smaller rim, slightly less overstable, but virtually the same distance potential.

I bagged a Wraith for ~7 years, but then got caught up in a phase of wanting to throw the same discs as the pros. So the Wraith ended up getting kicked out of my bag for a couple Destroyers. Honestly, if I lost my AJ Destroyer today, I could probably replace it with a Champion Wraith and not even miss it. I've found the Wraith to be a more consistent mold than the Destroyer as well.

Picked up a Champion Wraith when I first started feeling confident enough to try out some drivers faster than the Beast. I don't quite get the turn and full flight out of it yet but it is dependably straight to about 320' with a nice fade. I trust this for backhand drives that absolutely must not go right.  If I give it anhyzer it will fight out and finish nicely.

I have a decent FH for approach shots but this is the first disc that allowed me to throw a nice long flex FH drive in the 270' range.  It's a good enough disc that I'll probably experiment with it in other plastics as well.

The Wraith is a must bag for beginners and even pros. I've been using a color glow wraith for the better part of 4 months now and I absolutely love it. Its my go to, it currently gets used about 50% of my forehand drives. I have a ton of confidence in this disc. I throw it over water and never worry if it will make it or not (which is probably why it always makes it).

It has a nice and relatively straight flight path and a reliable fade that finishes forward instead of just dumping entirely. But, it will skip if you throw it low and flat so be mindful of height when throwing it (or if your looking for a skip). Not my go to backhand disc but plenty of players i play with use it solely for backhand shots.

The Wraith was the first distance driver I ever tried. I found it in DX. Come to think about it, I find 2-3 a year in DX.  Back then I was starting out and I beat the crap out of that disc, but I loved it. I gave it to a buddy who was just starting playing and I moved up to champion plastic.  It flies with just a little turn, and a decent pushing fade at the end. Once you get a disc to beat, you get a tiny bit of extra turn and the fade is not as aggressive. It will also be able to hyzer flip beautifully
I mainly use the Infinite Emperor as my distance driver now, but the wraith still stays in the bag. I love it for certain drives backhand and is my go-to sidearm driver.

You can't go wrong with a Wraith.

The wraith is a super classic mold used by amateurs and pros alike. What I love most about it is the consistency. I used some wraiths when I first started disc golf, and I have some now. They all fly almost exactly the same! A lot of people really like Wraiths for it's flight path, which is decently neutral and can provide max distance. Personally, I think that a Wraith really shines after it is beat in, so feel free to wack it against some trees out of the box, and then watch as the slightly less stable Wraith holds the path, with a mild fade at the end.

Champion 175g Wraith, intermediate player with an average drive around 325 ft. 11,5,-1,3.

The wraith is my favorite distance driver. I usually throw around 325 ft., and occasionally throw 350 ft. with the Wraith.

The Wraith has wonderful skip action, perhaps this is due to the fact that I’m using champion plastic, which is less grippy and tends to skip and slide more. Skip won’t always happen, especially in cases like tall wet grass, but the skip is amazing when it does occur.

People say champion plastic is more overstable than star plastic, which is true in the case of the Wraith as well. If you can throw around 325 ft. on average, then I recommend getting a max weight Champion plastic Wraith because you’ll be strong enough to get an S-curve and you’ll be able to realize some epic skipping action as well. If you throw less than 300-325 ft., then I recommend buying this disc in Star plastic, or else it may very likely hyzer into the ground prematurely. Star plastic will allow weaker players to get a nice S-curve, but you won’t get that sexy skip action because Star plastic is grippier and sticks to the ground more. I suppose you could get a lighter weight Champion Wraith to compensate for the greater overstability of the Champion plastic, but you’d be more vulnerable to the wind and errant throws.

I’d also like to point out that the Wraith is more reliable than a Destroyer. It won’t be able to go quite as far as the Destroyer, but you’ll be able to control it more effectively because you don’t have to give it quite as much power on it as the Destroyer.

Lastly, the Wraith coasts extra far in a tailwind, and handles headwinds decently, unless you try to overpower it, in which case it might give a long errant turn-and-burn.

The Wraith was my first double digit speed disc and it was a nice step up from my Valkyrie. I really like the feel of the disc and it has been pretty easy for me to throw. The reason I rated it good for “somewhat beginner friendly” is because I am a beginner myself and really had no learning curve in throwing this disc. I use this primarily sidearm because I have a terrible backhand and recently I’ve been getting more distant on my drives. I get a slight S-Curve and I love the way this disc finishes. It’s been a go-to disc for me and I highly recommend.

    DX 175g

In DX this is a great s curve disc without having to throw everything into it. nice 300-350 with flat to slightly hyzer release. If you are throwing a Thunderbird or a Viking this is a nice step up, Just under the Destroyer it is Still a speed 11 disc, not beginner friendly. If you are playing your course at par, or a few under delve into a DX wraith, it is dependable and has nice high speed turn as well as that gorgeous fade.

Disc: 168g Champion Wraith (blue, tourney stamp)

Wraith is a solid disc. The Destroyer for intermediate arms

Flight: The Wraith will flight pretty straight with a slight turn and then moderately fade at the end. With medium power you can get a good S-curve flight out of this for max distance. Good distance but reliable flight (i.e. not flippy)

Use: Throw the Wraith if you want some easy distance. It does require a good throw, but you don't need big power to be able to rip it well. I like it for backhand and forehands. Doesn't turn over but give me just the right amount of turn. Use this for big crushes with backhand or straight forehands that you don't want monster skip at the end.

Summary: I don't bag my 2 wraiths anymore and instead just use my 2 destroyers (but to be fair, it was because my 2 Wraiths met a soggy demise into some ponds). I definitely recommend trying these out as they are solid discs and you can get some good distance with them

The Wraith is just a great distance driver that will provide you with stability and the ability to throw a ton of different lines. Wraiths are great discs to cycle to cover all your distance needs. Its often overlooked by faster discs, but this thing can compete with them all. The champ plastic feels good and is extremely durable.

It took me a long time to get the hang of this disc; it's really not one for beginners. I bought it used, 175 grams. As I've gotten a little better at the game, I've begun to really like this disc. It's got a good degree of turn and fades hard at the end of flights. This is my primary distance driver for any shots I need to finish hyzer or any headwind shots.

The wraith will forever hold a permanent spot in my bag. They glide forever and I can get some serious distance releasing it on a hyzer and relying on the flip up to get the maximum distance. It may not be the fastest driver in my bag but it definitely gives me the most distance!

My absolute go-to disc when I need distance .This disc will glide farther than any distance driver in my bag. The wraith was the first driver I bought so it is what I learned to throw first. Beginners will have to throw this disc with anhyzer to get Max distance out of it but now I can release it flat and get the perfect S curve out of it. No questions asked, my favorite driver I've come across yet.

This is quite possibly the best forehand driver ever created. It can handle anhyzer and flex back out. It can also handle some hyzer and fade continually. This disc can go really really far also.

I bought a 166 hoping I could get a controllable stable driver.  I got a meathook.  The disc feels good, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the disc, I just can't throw it hard enough to get it to hold the long straight line.  I have Wraiths I can throw really well for distance, this just wasn't one of them.   So 5* for the disc, but you better have an arm to make it fly correctly.

Bought one about a month ago in champ plastic 170 g and is thrown every time I need to forehand anything over 330 ft. It gets more distance on a forehand than any other driver in my bag and holds its line real well. The rim is very comfortable and fights the wind reasonably well. So far I cant find something that I dislike about this disc

I'm primarily a forehand driver. I also bag some faster and slower drivers, but this one always outdrives them by 30-40 feet.  Moral of the story, if your arm speed fits it, it'll work for you.  It isn't as glamorous as the Destroyer because not many pros use it, but Climo still bags it, apparently.

I typically throw the Wraith more on windy days when I would usually pull a Leopard3 or an Escape. I never try to bomb the Wraith as my arm strength isn't huge, but its flight is so reliable that I know if I treat it like a control driver in the wind I can put it EXACTLY where I need it to be.

The wraith is a great disc. The grip on it is comfortable, the rim is a little thicker than I expected, but not by much. It feels good in my hand and it is very comfortable. The champion plastic makes it very stiff, and it handles any unfriendly encounter.

In the champion plastic I find that the Wraith is more stable, and has a straighter flight path than the one provided by inbounds. Some days I have a hard time throwing it and other days I have an easy time throwing it. For the most part though it is a predictable disc and reliable. I am able to throw the Wraith the same distance as any other driver that I have thrown, which is usually around 320-380 feet.

Overall the Wraith is a wonderful disc. It is predictable, flies straight with a healthy fade, I have a hard time getting it to turn over, and it goes a good distance. No complaints.

Huge anhyzer shots, RHBH. I typically carry two star and two 175g champion wraiths in my bag, however, I really only throw the camp wraiths anymore. But when I do throw my champ wraiths its usually for a 350ft + anny shot. I have been throwing wraiths for a number of years now and can get a consistent 400ft all turn, no fade, shot with a champ wraith in any type of wind. I have a feeling that if I threw rollers of the tee, that the champ wraith would be my go to.

This disc is nice, it does fade pretty hard to the left (for right hand throwers) at the end of the flight as shown by inbounds.  If you want less fade get it light or in DX plastic, but the Champion plasitic is better for durability.

The Champ Wraith is my favorite disc in my bag and the one I would be most heartbroken to lose. The flight is incredible and I can get this thing over 400 feet both forehand and backhand, though I mostly throw it forehand (I like destroyers better for backhand). I started out throwing forehand with a valkyrie and moved to an orc and then graduated to the wraith and I've been stuck on it ever since. The champion plastic takes a while to beat it, so it maintains the flight characteristics for a long time and when it does beat in a lot, the flight will only change slightly and it will get even easier to throw. It does the same thing every time and is the most reliable distance driver I own. The flight numbers are very accurate. I also carry a Champ Boss for when I need something to not flip at all and just go hyzer. To get max distance I release this on a slight anhyzer, but it isn't necessary to do that to get a great throw. I wouldn't put this in someone's hands as a beginner, but it's a good disc to work up to and is the only thing I will throw off the tee for long forehand shots.

When I first started last year, I was learning my throwing ability and how the discs fly. I found that the wraith flew the most consistant and the farthest out of the ones I have so far. My choice for a good starter distance driver.

This was my first distance driver. I have loved it from the beginning and still love to throw this when I need a hard fade at the end of the flight. I can get long hyzer flips with my old beat up DX wraith as well.

My go to distance driver. Long, predictable, and reliable. Not really much else to say, which is usually a good thing. It's my main tee off disc.

I got myself a wraith a while back but I never really used it to much because it was much more stable than my other discs.  After a couple months though, I figured out how to get the disc to work and it has proven to be a great disc for my bag.  I typically use it for long forehand drives and it always seems quite predictable for me.  If I need it to hyzer, anhyzer, or go straight and fade off at the end, this disc will do the job.

I keep one in my bag when I need an OS disc. Honestly i generally find it a little too OS but I keep it in my bag for exactly that reason. Side note found the inner edge very sharp until it was broken in.

I got my hands on a champion wraith a few weeks a go and so far am a fan. It's a solid disc I can get some decent distance with and have predictable flight.

nice overstable fw driver / distance driver can flatten out nicley with enough power on it. I am not so much for the feel of this disk but the flight pattern it creates draws me in.

If you have mastered basic form on sidearm and find yourself looking for a faster disc I highly recommend the wraith. It has been my go to controlled sidearm driver since release and no matter what "new and shiny" disc comes out I keep going back to the wraith. Good sidearm and backhand so it is versatile. I have only ever thrown it in champion plastic so I can't speak to the mold differences.

The Wraith mold is very different in each plastic. DX is fairly stable, but wear in quite quickly for an easy distance hyzer-flip. Pro plastic is understable out of the box. Champion is the most stable and will remain that way for a long time. Star is a little less stable than Champion and will wear in a little faster.

Good medium headwind discs for those who throw slower speed discs (like me). As long as I do not shank it, I can depend that it will got straight and fade quite predictably left. A basic go-to driver for many intermediate and advanced players. Wraiths wear in excellently and become great turn-over long distance discs. If you the Wraith is little much disc for you, look at the Beast; it a great alternative for those who may not have enough arm.
