This is a strong mid with high torque resistance. I feel like it's more stable than the flight numbers Latitude 64 gave it. More of a 5/4/0/2. Thrown flat and pretty hard, it will ride straight with basically no turn for the first 85% of the flight, then at the very end will have a fairly precipitous fade. It goes pretty far, but not as far for me as other mids like the Mustang or Truth. The name of the game for this disc is control, and it provides excellent control. Well worth a try!

Feel- This is personally my favorite midrange out there. I have tried so many discs to fill the straight mid range shot in my bag, but I go back to this one every time. Opto plastic feels nice in the hand, feel a little softer than champion plastic.

Flight- Flies wonderfully straight. The best part about it is that even when ripped with full power it never want to turn over (torque resistant). I rely on this disc constantly at any course and it never leaves my bag. Even holds up in minor winds.

Use- 300' straight shots just about anywhere

Great midrange. Flies very true to the numbers, with just enough fade to this disc great for shaping shots. Will hold any line you put it on but also has just enough fade come back out of it given enough air. Very similar to my mako3 with that extra click of fade I know how this is going to finish.

The Latitude 64 opto compass is a great controllable midrange. I bag one and use it for straight shots that go around 250-300 ft. This disc flies dead straight with a nice slight reliable fade at the end. This disc pretty much holds any line you put it on. I throw it on hyzers as well. If thrown with enough power, the disc has a slight turn to it. The opto plastic feels nice in the hand. I would recommend the baseline plastic compass for beginners as it has a less extreme fade. Definitely pick this disc up if you can.

Lat 64 has a good disc right here! Only draw back for me is its a little deeper than I like but if you like a mid that is a workhorse and a little deeper feeling then this is it! Very point and shoot and dependable!

The compass is one of my all time favorite discs. You can manipulate this disc in so many ways. If you throw a hyzer, it flips up, goes straight, and then has a moderate fade at the end of its flight. Anhyzer, it holds that angle for the entire flight. Flat, it will go dead straight really far and then have a slight fade at the end of it's flight. I would recommend getting opto plastic, just because it is slightly more stable than some of the other plastic options. This is such an underrated disc and I would recommend it to anyone.

    Disc: 180g Opto Compass

Feel: Probably one of the best feeling midranges out there. Thin, flat, simple wing with  no bead. I felt like I was able to get some genuine grip on this disc.

Flight: You will see so many reviews comparing this disc to other discs, and yeah, it kind of acts like a lot of other discs. It can act like "pre-beat" Roc3, on every angle it holds, but it will "pan-out" a touch on an anny. I can hyzer flip this disc like crazy. It acts like a Buzzz in the amount of control I have on the angles of this disc, I see the Emac as I could send this with a ton of power and it wouldn't "turn-over".. You can forehand this disc all over the place, and it is an absolute windfighter.

Conclusion: Normally you wouldn't think a disc like this would have the numbers that it does. But it is just an overstable disc. Point and shoot, you won't really get this thing to turn-over. It became my gap-disc and my go-to whenever I didn't know quite what else to throw. I would only say that my improvement is to get an OptoX (if you can find one), or maybe a Moonshine, to get that touch more stability and durability. Opto lasts so long, but it does start to show after a couple years.

By far the most comfortable disc I have ever felt. Very similar feel to a buzzz or mako3 but just a little more "round" feeling. Flight is similar too but accurate to the numbers at least in opto plastic. The disc starts off being fairly stable. After it gets moderately beat-in in really shines. It can hyzer flip but it excels at purely straight shots with a soft, carrying fade.

This stable mid has booted my M3 out, as well as my soft 400 MX-3.  This is the mid I've been looking for.  It flies just like the numbers...straight, flat, then when the flight is over, is just glides out left.  The glide, distance, and control on this mid makes it AMAZING for woods play.  Check out the video:

I have thrown the compass for about 3 years now, and have tried them in retro, gold, opto, and opto x. Having tried multiple midranges, I decided to bag this one almost exclusively due to the following reasons.

Flight: The flight is pretty dependent on the plastic. Retro plastic starts out stable out the box and very true to its numbers. After about 2 rounds of playing in the woods, I noticed that the disc would start flipping just a hair. The flip is very controllable, but it no longer held laser straight with a fade. Gold line is the next in stability. The flight is very similar to Retro, and thus very true to the flight numbers. The disc will push forward for a very long time and then, if thrown high enough, will have a very slight fade with minimal skip. Opto is a tough more stable out of the box and flies closer to 5,5,0,1.5. Not a full 2 merely because it also waits until the end of the flight to push right, and even then, its a slow bank and not a hard crash. Opto-x is by far the most overstable out of the box and I would give it a 5,5,0,3 because of that stability. This will still push very straight, but will start fading towards the ground much quicker than any of the other plastics. I love how the flights all compliment each other and have one of each in the bag. One thing that people love to say about this disc is that it "holds the angle you put it on" which is very accurate. This can hold an anhyzer bank all the way to the ground, so if you are backhand dominant player that needs a disc to anhyzer 100 feet and more without a worry of it coming out, this is a great disc to have in the bag.

Feel: I love the feel of this mold. I have felt Rocs, Buzzz's, Mako3's, etc, and nothing really compares to the feel of this mold. It is beadless and not too deep. The plastics all feel incredible, as the retro feels grippy and durable for a baseline plastic, the gold feels very similar to innova star plastic just a bit more grippy, the opto is where latitude shines though. It is grippy, comfortable, and take an actual beating. Optox is also another beast, and some of the best plastic in the game. It is incredibly stiff but still grippy and leaves the hand very well for both backhand and forehand.

I think this should be a staple in players bags due to the ability to cycle in the discs in different plastics for consistency and confidence in a mold, and they are much easier to find than other major midrange molds. I would pick one of these up in baseline plastic, see if you like the feel, and then write me an email about how upset you are that you just spent 50 bucks buying them in all the other plastics because you love it so much.

I Don't know if I'd want it in any plastic other than Opto because I don't want this disc to break in too much and start flipping over. It's pretty great right out of the box. If you're looking for a roc3 that holds a longer line and stays straighter, this is your disc.I was really skeptical about this disc because I'm not a huge fan of the claymore. I've thrown a couple different claymores and they haven't been very consistent for me. However from the very first throw the compass put all those concerns to rest. The flight numbers are very accurate on this disc, which I think is uncommon among trilogy discs so I appreciate that a lot. You can absolutely lay into this disc if you want and it's great at holding a straight line for 80-90% of it's flight before dropping out. In field testing I got this thing to go 325 feet flat with no wind, which is the furthest I've ever thrown a midrange. I also appreciate that you can power it down and throw at 50-60% and it still holds the same line. I also threw it forehand and it seemed to be a little bit flippier, but my forehand technique often makes midranges flippy so I think that had more to do with me than the disc.

Great workhorse midrange. I have it in Opto Sparkle and it's pretty much dead straight. Maybe a slight fade in the finish. Stable enough that it won't turn over on me. This thing also glides real nice and gets surprisingly far distance. It's not much shorter than my fairways. I love the feel of this disc. It's not too deep, and the top on mine is super flat. Makes it great for forehand and backhand. It's a similar feel to a buzz, but for some reason the buzz never clicked with me. This disc did and has stayed in my bag.

The compass was not quite what I expected.  I have a 180g 2x Wysocki Moonshine compass that is just not as stable as I wanted it to be.  Straight from the box it was a hyzer flip disc for me.  I only play a couple of times a week, so I don't really have the consistency for hyzer flips.  I prefer the Buzzz for this reason.  It goes straight and stays straight.

What really surprised me is the compass' ability to resist torque for a forehand.  I only have a scramble forehand right now, but something about the rim on this disc is just perfect for me.  It will turn a little bit, but flies a surprising amount with minimal effort.  For the past month, I have been throwing standstill shots up to 275' with only a slight arm movement.  It stays in the bag because of this.  I just wish it was a little more stable.

My favorite midrange. I've switched midrange often, but I've finally find the one. It has little enough fade to still go straight, but is also still very torque resistant. It is pretty much a buzz with a different fell in my opinion.

Disc - 178 Gold LineX Compass, Opto Compass

Feel - The compass feels almost exactly like a buzzz in my opinion. It has no bead, a comfortable rim, not too deep or shallow.

Flight - The compass is a very straight mid. You can make this disc do anything you want. If you want it to hyzer just throw it on the angle and it will hold it very nicely and same for every other angle. If you are looking for a buzzz replacement that is easier to get these days because of the McBeth effect then I would at least give the compass a try.

Overall - Great straight mid, flies very similar to the buzzz, easier to get

This is one of the best workhorse mids there is! It feels amazing in the hand with a flat top and deep rim that almost feels similar to a putter. This makes it great for any kind of grip or throw. The flight is very consistent and what you would expect: dead straight with a slight finish. It can go far too but has a more blunt nose that allows for great control as well.

This is one of the best straight midranges available. I have two Compasses in gold line plastic, and I love them both. It is very similar to the Buzzz, but slightly more overstable. On a flat release they will turn slightly before fading softly, and this gets a lot of distance. I can also hyzer-flip it, or it can even (with enough hyzer) hold the angle and fade. Thrown with anhyzer, it will turn, but not into the ground, and it will fade out at the end. You really can’t go wrong between this disc and a Buzzz, but I would recommend a Buzzz to a beginner or someone looking for a more understable flight out of the box, but to someone who needs a slightly stable midrange, the Compass should be a go-to.

The compass is a perfect go-to midrange. It is very resistant to turn, so you can really power up on it. It'll fly very straight for most of the flight with gentle fade at the end. Opto plastic feels amazing and takes forever to break in. But once the opto compass does break in, you still won't see much turn out of it. The compass will just fly straighter for longer, with less fade at the end.

My favorite midrange.  I have it in 175g Moonshine, which is the brightest glow plastic I have personally ever used btw. I have tried the following other super popular midranges: Buzz, Buzz SS, and Mako3 (never tried Mako, Truth or Emac Truth).  These are all excellent discs, but the compass is the most comfortable in my hand and I am the most consistent with it.  It is stable enough that I never accidentally turn this (had that problem with the Buzz SS), but will also hold any line I put it on.  I am comfortable throwing this forehand, backhand, longer distance and touch shots.  Really any midrange shot this disc is great.  I can actually putt with this thing pretty well too, the rim has a nice lip on it where I can get a consistent putting grip (not recommending it for putting, just saying!).

Straight as true north, compass pun, but seriously it sticks on any line I put it on.  Find that it even tries to fight extreme hyzer or anhyzer shots I throw with.  It just wants to sit flat in the air.

It did not take me long to really appreciate this disc. In fact, my second ever throw with this disc (180 grams in opto plastic) was an ace into my own backyard from about 300 feet away. This disc is deadly accurate, which makes it a fantastic mid range for any situation. Whether you need a consistent and straight drive, dialed in approach shot, jump putt, or even a straight shot in a wide open field, this may be the disc for you. There's a reason that this disc is one of the most popular mid ranges to ever be thrown in disc golf. It is very consistent with very little turn (if any at all) and almost no fade at the end of the shot. This disc also will hold any line that it is put on, whether it is a beefy hyzer, flat straight shot, or a touchy anhyzer line. I'm very thankful that I got to try this disc out and my only regret is not getting it sooner. If you're a beginner looking for a disc to learn to throw with, you may not need to look any further after getting this one. It truly is a great disc for beginners and pros alike.

The compass is like the buzzz but better.  The compass fills the same slot in my bag as a buzzz would, but I prefer it to the buzzz because of the plastic.  Opto plastic is gummier than z, giving me more control in my upshots.  Opto plastic is still quite durable, although maybe not as durable as z, and it should last a while.  The compass is a straight flier with a small fade at the end, and I can throw it about 275 feet dead straight with a slight fade. I play wooded courses often, and I no longer have to be scared of hitting trees (although I still don't want to). If you are interested in a switch from the buzzz to something similar, the compass is a great disc to try out. The reason I first bought this disc was disc golf valley, and lat 64 is doing a great job marketting their product through the game.

An opto Compass was one of the first discs I owned and after three years it's still my main midrange. I love that this disc flies extremely straight, has almost no turn and has just a slight fade. I mainly use it for backhand shots, but also for touch sidearms. One more important thing: it feels really comfortable in the hand.

It took me some time to really learn the Compass well.   It can be used for very straight approach shots, short tee shots, for backhand and thrown forehand, low power, will turn reliably when needed.  It will fight fading on a sidehill throw and can fade strong if desired depending on release angle.  I would say it was one of the longest learning curves I have had with a disc.  I have gone from the Claymore to the Core, to the compass, several times before settling on the Compass as the most versatile and reliable.   I can drive about 70% the distance of my distance drivers and I can putt as well as I do with the Pure.  The Compass is a true one disc round disc meaning you can't go wrong when you pull it out of the bag.

The Compass is one of 2 midranges that will stay in my bag forever. The other disc is Discraft's Buzzz. Both of these discs have very similar flight patterns, but I choose the Compass over the Buzzz when I need something that is slightly more stable, or something that will hold an angle better than my Buzzz. This disc holds hyzer and anhyzer angles very well, and you will be able to predict it's flight path reliably after practicing with it for a little while. It may just be me, but I also seem to get more distance out of my Buzzz. Maybe that has to do with the variety in my plastic types (Compass = Opto, Buzzz = Tour ESP)? The good news is that this distance variation makes my choice easier without having to adjust my throw speed too much for either disc to work well. I love the feel of the Opto plastic, and I would highly recommend this disc to anyone who likes Discraft's Buzzz or to anyone who hasn't yet found a midrange that they love. Overall, this is one of my favorite discs.

This is my first LAT64 disc and I love the feel and flight of this disc. I use it similar to my Discraft Zone for upshots and short holes. I found that it finishes a lot straighter than my Zone and I love the accuracy I get on this disc. I’m primarily a sidearm player and this was a nice addition to my bag. I still love my Zone but this give me variety and I find myself using it more and more. I’ve only been playing a year so I found this disc to be very beginner friendly and easy to throw, at least for me.

I really liked how this disc feels -- flat and smooth rim. Makes it easy to throw. My Opto plastic one flies super flat and relatively straight, but with a little bit more gentle turn than I would like out of a disc in this slot. It does glide for days though and so it's real fun to throw. I used it for long straight tunnel shots when it was in my bag and it worked great.

The Compass is the quintessential go-to midrange in the L64 line-up. I really like the feel of this disc in the hand, with it being headless and slightly rounded on the bottom. I know a lot of people say this about just about every disc on the market, but it is very point-and-shoot. Thrown on hyzer, it’ll give you a nice glidey panning hyzer. Thrown flat, it’ll be very straight (maybe a little turn) with a baby fade at the end. Thrown on anhyzer, and you’ll watch it ride to the right and pan to flat before it hits the ground. I’d say this is a slower Explorer, and the flight most closely resembles a Buzzz. Headwinds make this disc more inconsistent, which is why L64 produced the Anchor. If you want a midrange that will do just about anything and everything for you, check out the Compass.

A really disappointing and confusing disc for me. I was never a fan of the buzzz because it felt weird in my hand and I thought the compass was supposed to be similar to it, so I picked one up and loved how it felt in the hand so I bought it. Took it out to the field and it always seemed to drop to the ground really quickly. This was supposed to be the Lat64 "workhorse midrange" but I think they fell short on this one. it is good if you just want something you can throw hard without blowing past the basket, but I think that this disc covers such a small range of situations that you would be better off to learn to throw a different putter or midrange with better touch than bag this disc.

This disc does absolutely everything. There is nothing it can't do. Hyzer, hyzer flip to flat, late-flight turn, anhyzer line. It does it all. It delivers just the right stability, making it predictable enough to not get squarely. It reminds me very much of a seasoned EMac Truth. For backhand, you can throw this disc at any power and expect it to remain straight throughout the whole flight without too much deviation. Granted it doesn't give the most distance as some other mids (I can get the EMac to go about 30 feet further). But it is absolutely reliable as a straight mid. For forehand you can put the compass on a little bit of hyzer on your release, and it will flip up to flat and ride that line for days. It will end with hardly any fade at all. If you want a turnover that will finish slightly right of where you throw, release it flat and the compass will do that. This disc is so neutral it does wonders for upshots too. Anything under 200 and you know you can get the compass to flight right near the basket. I picked up a double stamp compass for a discounted price at a play-it-again. With the first throw, I knew that disc was a mainstay with its versatility. I have only thrown Gold X-Blend and Opto compasses. I believe the two to be pretty similar in flight. All in all, I think every player needs a compass in their bag because there isn't another disc that can do what the compass does any better. Go out and get a compass. To me this is about the same flights as an emac, but just feels better in my hand. this is my neutral to slightly os mid and flys great. I can stretch this mid to 300' dependably. If i want it to hold an anny line it can, but i tend to pick something a little more us for those shots. This is my flat to hyzer that I want to get full power on and have it hold up. I have in GL as well and normally prefer that plastic, but for this mold the GL just feels better in hand, which for me is almost as important as the flight. If you need something in a mid that you want to put some power on and dont like the Emac truths give this a try instead.

The Compass is one of those rare discs that actually "holds any line", which is what people say about every disc. It's the Latitude 64 Buzzz, and does Buzzz things. It feels a little better than the Buzzz for forehand shots because the profile is a bit more blunt. For fan grip touch shots it is slightly less optimal. Of course both of those things are subjective to my own fingers. I have had one in Opto that was wonderfully controllable, and another in Opto Sparkle that is surprisingly beefy, like a mild Anchor. It should beat in to perfection.

I got the compass in the opto and the gold x. I love pretty much everything about this disc; it feels great in the hand and does pretty much anything you want it to do. It ended up easily replacing my Mako3's that I had bagged since they came out.

I got the compass when I was building a new bag as straight mid since I heard everybody talking about how awesome it was after Ricky won his first world championship. I really wanted to like this disc because I love throwing signature discs. When I threw the compass it just felt like I was throwing a brick. It felt good in my hand, in fact it is probably one of the best feeling mid ranges for me but it just looks slow in the air, almost like I could throw a putter farther. I ended up getting a gold line compass which felt a little shallower and flew dead straight and farther. I had the chance to get that compass signed by Ricky so now I can't throw it though. If you are going to get a compass I would suggest getting it in gold line unless you are looking for a slower mid, but either way it feels great in the hand. This mid might be a little stable for a beginner but since it is a mid it really doesn't have much of an impact on flight and distance. Let's just say, Ricky throws a compass way better than me.

This disc is the perfect mid range, its does everything you tell it to do and well!! I always call this disc the best one in my bag for a reason.  If there is a gap I need to hit, point..shoot...gap decimated.  Everyone should try the greatness that is the Compass.

If you are looking for a neutral to stable mid with great glide and some shape-ability, look no further. I would also recommend checking out the Lucid EMac Truth and Sling; I think all three of these discs fly very similarly, especially once the Sling is released in VIP.

In the hand the Compass has a unique feel, which is why I recommend trying out the Sling and EMac to see how they compare. The Compass is very smooth, but has a slightly angled rim outward from the bottom of the flight-plate.

The Compass flies like a dream. It is fairly stable, and if thrown properly, will hold just about any line. New, it is especially great for hyzer releases. New it will also be slightly difficult to hold a good anyhyzer, as it will tend to flatten out pretty quickly if put high enough in the air. A more beat-in one will definitely have some more "shape-ability".

Overall this is a fantastic disc and I highly recommend it. Also, if the Sockibomb throws it, it must be good ;)

I got this disc with a special edition stamp from Ricky Wysocki as a support for him and to give it a try. It was not what I expected of the disc. I was looking for something more stable that really didn't have a lot of turn in the flight. Even watching him throw it in the tournaments makes it seem like it was pretty stable. The issue is that it wasn't and I was having trouble flipping the disc when I did not want it to and just ended up not liking it as much as I would have liked. It still has an awesome stamp and I like that, just not happy with the disc as a whole and would suggest something along the lines of an EMac Truth if you are looking for something closer to the numbers

I've bagged the Compass in Opto plastic almost since the day it came out. I find it to be an incredible useful midrange, versatile enough for a wide range of shots and more comfortable than any other midrange I've held. Since it has a number of reviews already, I' thought I'd try something different and give give my take on some specific things that have been said, both true and false in my experience with it.

"a Claymore by any other name is still a Claymore"
    "pretty comparable to the Evidence"

Both false. I've bagged each of these discs and the Compass is more stable than both. Perhaps when brand new they are similar, but once beaten in both the Claymore and Evidence have less HSS than the Compass. In fact, the Claymore makes a good US complement to the Compass (although a beaten in Compass is an even better complement).

"the rim is the problem with this disc...I'm antibead"

False. The Compass does not have a bead, in fact it's one of the smoothest feeling beadless discs you can buy. Most are completely flat as well, which make them good for touch forehands when needed.

"the Compass does not have a ton of LSS"

True! This is one of my favorite things about the disc: it has an unusual combination of good HSS without much LSS, meaning it can be thrown hard and flat, it will resist turn and yet the fade is very gentle.

"it is not the longest mid out there"

True. The Compass is not a fast midrange and would be more accurately classified as a speed 4 rather than 5. Held next to a true 5 speed, such as an EMac Truth, you will notice the rim is not as wide, almost like the Compass is a faster putter.

"this disc truly does hold any line you put it on"

True! This descriptor is given to many discs, and I find it fits the Compass well. I tend to use mine for straight and hyzerflip-to-hyzer shots, and it performs great. I also have a friend who bags them specifically for forced anhyzers, and it holds than angle for him all the way to the ground.

I describe the Compass to people as "a wonderfully boring midrange". It does everything mildly and is one of the hardest discs to throw a bad shot with. Pick one up and throw your mid-distance shots with control and confidence.

I was on a mission to find a mid-range for my bag. I used the Roc3 for awhile and wasn't able to power it down or it will flip over. So i gave the Compass a try and feel in love with it. I actually went back to the local shop to pick up a few more.

-I was able to put some power into them, making them hyzer flip and trust that it won't turn to the right.

-While releasing flat, I get nice turn, and get a very nice fade at the end.

-With an anhyzer, it will hold the line straight to the ground.

I can crank this to 300', with a really trustworthy flight pattern. A GREAT utility disc, and will be picking up more! Opto 177g

Opto 175g. This disc will hold any line with the right amount of snap.  Knocked the Buzzz out of my bag for laser-lines through narrow windows.  Throw it mostly as a utility disc these days... great for BH or FH anhyzers when no other shot is available... thrown properly it will hold the line until it hits the ground.  Does exhibit a small amount of turn when thrown flat with power, but that can be corrected for with a slight hyzer release.  Glides for days.  If I had to play an entire round with one disc, this would probably be the one.

I love this mid-range, of cause as soon as I saw world champ Ricky Wysocki throwing these i knew i had to get my hands on one. Once that happened I bought up as many max weight optos i could. these disc fly straight as can be and fade just a hair at the end just as advertised. I high recommend this disc to anyone looking for a straight flyer or a mid-range that will hold any line you need it to

The compass has become my go to midrange. I can throw it flat and it will hold straight with a small fade or throw it on an anhyzer and it will turn for most of its flight before fading out. I'm throwing this driver on 250 to 300 ft holes where I need control. The feel in the hand is great for both back hands and the rare forehand. Recommend this disc to people that want a disc they can rely on to go straight and not turn over but not fade out too early.

The Compass has become my workhorse mid. Enough stability to handle wind, but glidey enough to get to the basket. As mine has beaten in, it continues to be high-speed stable, but has gotten longer and straighter. I've had many a near ace with it, and am sure it will be my next ace disc. Very nice mid, and hackneyed but true, it does hold any line you put it on.

Profle: The rim, the rim is the problem with this disc.  I'm antibead, in my discs so that's my biggest issue with it.

Flight: Flies very straight with a little fade at the end.

    Comparison: EMAC Truth

Final thoughts: With the other options out I don't see why one would bag this over the EMac Truth.  This is slightly less stable than the Emac Truth, slower and not as consistent/reliable.

Opto 178. For me, it has took much movement. By that I mean with mids for me, I want something that, say with a hzyer line either hold that line and finish left or stay flat then finish left. Even with a straight shot, I want straight then either have a drop finish or finish left. The compass for me, tends to have some s curve and be unpredictable. I like the disc and it holds the lines I put it on, but I like the Truth more for a stable midrange. Just a personal choice.

Well color me impressed. Here in Colorado, Trilogy has been making huge headway, so when Latitude picked up Ricky Wysocki, it was big news. This being his first true signature mold from them, the hype was big. This past weekend, I was finally able to throw one.

The crazy thing about this disc is flight numbers....it's very hard to classify, as this disc truly does hold any line you put it on. I threw it hyzer, anhyzer and flat it held all those lines majestically. Thrown flat it will drift to the right (thrown RHBH) and fade back left at the end for a very straight finishing throw. I had trouble dialing it sidearm on my half dozen forehand shots...it never turned into a cut roller, but it would turn off pretty hard on my torqued out sidearms.

I didn't get the chance to throw the Compass into a headwind, but I can't imagine it would hold up all that well, even on a hyzer angle. Still, for you Latitude and Trilogy fans, this could very easily become your workhorse mid and would make a great compliment to something more overstable like a Justice, Verdict, Bard or Mace.

I have 3 in bag, 174g,177g,179g all in opto plastic and they are fantastic discs. I love that i have every shot with 1 mold, hyzer/anhyzer/straight it is a confidence booster to throw 1 mold instead of three different molds with three different companies. There is still a bit of turn to the heavier weights, moreso than i expected with a full pull.

The compass has some "Mako" like qualities, but I think the mako is too deep, while the compass you can get a firm grip for power or fan for the touch shots. It is not the fastest disc for mids, and it takes some power to get to the 300+ mark with this disc. While not the longest it is very accurate, and shaping shots is easy once you learn the release angles of the disc.

There are 2 drawbacks, 1 is i think it is not the best wind fighter out there. On a windy day pulling out a more OS discs would be a better bet, even the 179g i have turns over if the edge is exposed to the wind. Also the Compass does not have a ton of LSS, there is a shot on our local course that requires a high floating drive, then let the fade take over and crash left. The compass does not quite execute this shot as well as i would hope, using a verdict or heavier roc3 is still the play there.

Got a 174g Opto Sockibomb Compass, bright yellow color, easy to see.  The grip on the Wisocky Compass is beadless and much more comfortable than the McBeth Roc3.  The Compass feels more like the Mako3, but the Compass is a bit more overstable.  The Compass is versatile and holds hyzer and anhyzer lines well.

If there is a drawback to the Compass, it would be that it is not the longest mid out there. It's competitive with other discs of its class, but there are some mids (VCobra, or example) that'll get more distance, though perhaps without the versatility of the Compass.

All in all, the Compass is an excellent midrange disc, and IMHO is almost perfect for bags with only one mid.  It can be used for one-disc rounds as well.  I have not yet tried the Compass in Gold Line, but look forward to doing so.  I can envision seasoning in a Gold Line to stable/understable, and keep the Opto Compass for stable/overstable throws for a great combination in my bag.

This disc has an amazing ability to hold any line you put it on. When I first got the disc I used it for 2 entire rounds for every shot. You can make this disc do anything! It will stick to a line and hold it until it slows down and has a nice gentle fade. I throw a 164g Opto Compass and love it. I go to this disc now for nice haizer mid range shots or anhaizer to get around an obstical. I didn't like it for sidearm shots but it did work. This disc can handle a lot of power for straight drives which went close to 300' for me. Pick one of these up and play a round with it to see what it can do, you will not be sorry. Thanks Ricky!

This disc was a pleasant surpise. Rumors of what it would or wouldn't be circled around nearing its release, and initial reports of "disappointment" were pooping early and often, but let me tell you, from the FIRST throw of this disc, I was impressed. It has wonderful HSS, making it a disc that isn't necessarily overstable, but isn't entirely neutral either. For my bag personally it's a wonderful mix of a Warship, and the Suspects I used to bag. If i need tight, clean lines, but it's shorter than my Warship, but longer or I need to know it won't turn over my putter, then the Compass will come out. Fun disc to throw, handles itself well, and responds well to both forehands and backhands.

I highly recommend everybody give this disc an honest shot at making your bag. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I have thrown a Buzz, Truth, Warship, and Tangent trying to find that go to mid, and never really clicked with any of them. From round one with the Compass I was sold. My round went as such; parked, parked, parked, parked, and parked. All subsequent rounds have been the same. It is as advertised, put any angle on it and it will hold it's line. It has been consistant, and I have complete confidence when I step up for my approach. The only disc I reach for more in a round is my putter.

I was really skeptical about this disc because I'm not a huge fan of the claymore.

I don't know if I'd want it in any plastic other than Opto because I don't want this disc to break in too much and start flipping over. It's pretty great right out of the box. If you're looking for a roc3 that holds a longer line and stays straighter, this is your disc.

One of the best experiences I have had after buying a disc and immediately playing a round with it! It hyzers well, anhyzers and flattens incredibly well and with a slight hyzer flip will fly straight as an arrow with minimal fade. This disc is the real deal.

I love this disc, and the flight ratings are dead on, but it fills the same spot in my bag as a very well seasoned tournament plastic Westside Bard (which I've been cycling like rocs since they came out in March of 2015). The Compass and Bard feel similar, less the fact that the Bard has a bead on it where the Compass does not. The Compass almost looks like it used a Bard top and a Fuse bottom; but that's probably not the case. If you don't want to spend the time to beat in a Bard, the compass would be an awesome answer to a roc type disc that has less fade at the end.

This disc may find its way into my bag when it comes out in Gold Line plastic, as it tends to be slightly less stable than opto. Realistically you could have a Trilogy version of cycled rocs right out of the box with a VIP Bard, Opto Compass, and I'd assume the Gold Line will be the most likely to be understable; which sounds awesome to me!

The new Compass is a midrange that I think a lot of players will enjoy. It is definitely a beginner friendly midrange that feels comfortable in the hand. I don't think it will find a spot in my bag as I have my midrange lineup pretty set, but that is nothing against the disc. Brand new I was able to get it to pop up a little bit when released on a slight hyzer. Then if it got enough air under it it would start to fade lightly at the end, but with the right amount of power it held straight the whole flight.

This disc is about as smooth as they come.  I think it's pretty comparable to the Evidence, (but I do like the rim on the Evidence better).  My first impressions were great as it held every line I threw it on.  When thrown with less power, it has a gentle fade with great glide.  With more power it will soar whichever way you put it.  While it is a great disc, I don't think there's anything here that I couldn't get out of an Evidence, or Buzzz, but it does have a sick stamp.  If you're looking for a nice all purpose midrange, this is an excellent option.

A Claymore by any other name is still a Claymore.  I ordered 2 of these on pre-order through Infinite Discs and got them today.  Based on the pre-review by Latitude 64 and the flight numbers they released, I figured this was just going to be a re-named Claymore.  It is.  Holding the Compass side by side with a Claymore, I cannot see a difference.  I took two Claymore's and two Compass's out to the field and they threw exactly the same.  Nice straight flight with dependable fade.  I'm between beginner and intermediate and I threw them all about 290 feet.  They all landed within 20 feet of one another, and all with the same flight path.  Fortunately, the Claymore is my go to mid-range and now I have 2 with a cooler Compass stamp.
