The Star Tern has a medium depth rim and minimal dome making is very comfortable in the hand for a speed 12 driver. This disc will shine for medium power players looking for a full controlled flight from a distance driver and for players with more pop it will make a great turnover or tailwind driver. For medium power players this disc will serve the same function that broken in star destroyers do for pros (high speed, max distance with a little bit of turn and dependable fade). Some players might view the -3 turn flight number and think that the disc will not be as controllable as others, but it is not the case. The Star Terns glide rating of 6 might be a bit generous, but it does stay in the air and carry easily. It can hold its own in light to moderate winds, but when playing in gusty conditions I would recommend stepping up to something a touch more stable. Overall an extremely versatile distance driver for medium power players and a disc that is often overlooked.

Its a love hate with the Terns that I've had. I sat here debating whether to give it a five star for the max distance throws I've had with it or a one star for the times where I've sat there scratching my head at the fact that it turned into a paper plate mid flight. Therefore I settled for a middle ground. I can't lie to you this thing is sick. It goes far. It glides its easy-to-hold, low profile self far down that fairway forehand or backhand. (sometimes) WHILE on other occasions it plain loses its mind. On a perfectly calm day it can turn into an Archangel or Ape at the flip of a coin. Am I still going to recommend it to you? Yeah. But, I'll also wish you luck hoping that yours turns out to be a consistent little disc that gives you the max distance drives its supposed to.

This disc will never be my primary distance driver due to its extreme understability, but wow is it fun to throw from time to time.

The Tern is a 12 speed disc with enough glide and turn for slower arm speeds to harness. I am not a huge thrower, maxing out around 420 on a full rip. That being said, I consistently throw this disc farther than any other disc in my bag. I use it mostly for big turning shots of flexes that need distance. Even when I mess up and hyzer out a bit early, the straight nature of this disc doesn't punish me too much. The glide on this disc is very high, no dumping off early here. Try this disc out if the Destroyer is too stable for you and want more workable distance.

I was gifted a Champion Tern and it quickly became my go to distance driver, sadly I lost the disc. But this allowed me to buy another one in the plastic of my choosing. The Star plastic that I purchased is more understable than the Champion plastic and gave me an extra 25 ft minimum on every shot. I would highly recommend this disc for any beginners with a decent arm speed because the Tern will definitely help your distance and can become a great flippy disc when it  gets broken in.
