Rate this Disc

The Tern is an understable high speed driver. Being understable, this is a comfortable disc that provides max distance for intermediate players. While the Tern’s rim is very wide (2.3 cm) it isn’t at max width like the Dominator, Vulcan, or Katana. The Innova Tern was approved by the PDGA on December 3, 2012. Innova states that the flight rating of this disc in Star and Champion plastic slightly differ. The flight rating for Champion Plastic is 12/6/-2/2. The Champion plastic that the Tern is manufactured in is super clear and looks really sharp.

The I-Blend Tern is the only Tern I have personally owned, but I am really liking it so far. I probably don't have the arm speed for it, because its -2 turn rating has not been accurate for me, maybe closer to -1 or even 0 when I throw it at anything less than full power, but if I give it a little anhyzer it holds a really nice line and is great for flex line shots.

The thing I like the most about it is the feel of the I-Blend plastic. It feels incredible in the hand. It's pretty similar to ESP in terms of flexibility and gloss, but feels a bit more grippy, which is nice because my hands sweat easily. I'm guessing it will beat in relatively quickly, because its taken a few tree hits so far and already has noticeable nicks on its edge, but that is to be expected from anything less than the most stiff plastic blends.
